I see him take his reading glasses off. "What's up bud?" I twitch nervously at first, but I finally ask him, "Can I go to dinner tonight with a friend?" He looks at me like he doesn't understand, "Jeff is practically family, so you never have to ask." He says dismissing me and looking back at the scattered papers. "Umm..It's not Jeff." I say. He snaps back up, "ohh..dinner dinner? Like a date dinner?" "No, I mean probably not, but like dinner with a maybe kinda friend?" I say nervously. "Kinda friend?" He says not quite sure what I mean. "Like I don't know dad, he's just a guy. He kind of owes me, cause he was a real dick the other day. So he called and asked me out to dinner to make up for it." I say with my face growing redder by the second. My dad smirks, "So it is a date?" "No dad! I don't even know if he is you know..." "No I don't know? You don't know if he is what?" He asks smiling now enjoying me trip over my nervousness. "DAD!" He cracks up laughing sitting back in his chair. "It's not every day my son gets a date and asks me if he can go. Son is he gay? "Ok. Yes you can go on a date, but I need to meet him first, plus it would be really nice to know his name." he says going back to his papers. I know the conversation is over now. I am excited and nervous. "His name is Seth. Okay?" I tell him and head up to my room and look in my closet....I let out a sigh, Sammy might be right I need more clothes in my closet. I pick out a pair of blue jeans, and a blue striped button up shirt maybe he will like the country boy look. Sadly that's pretty much all there is of me. I picked the best jeans that fit tighter on me. Maybe he will be interested. I text him, it dawned on me earlier that he had to have put his name in my phone. I just smirk he might not outright be cocky but I sensed he was just a little bit. I feel my phone start to vibrate, and I answer it. "Hello." "Hey, Colt." His smooth sexy calm voice says. "Seth." I say I am sure my voice cracked. "So I am probably five minutes away if that is ok?" "Yeah, oh umm. I hope you don't mind my dad wants to meet you, before we go. Sorry he is just weird like that." I tell him. I hear him chuckle and butterflies swim in my stomach, "Yeah, I am great with parents." "Okay I am driving up the drive way now." He says and hangs up. I make my way downstairs, and to the door. I look around for Dani, but thankfully I don't see her. I see him park his car and get out of it. Fuck he looks amazing. His brown hair is so shiny in the fading sun, and he is wearing skinny black jeans, and a red flannel button up shirt. He looks so damn sexy. I open the door so he doesn't ring the door bell. I don't want Dani to say anything. He is standing there, and he looks so amazing up close and personal. I shift from foot to foot. "Hey."I say blushing. "Hey." He says giving me an amazing, bright toothy smile. "So....um...yeah want to come in?" I ask. He chuckles, "yeah I mean if that is cool with you?" "It, kinda has to be since my dad wants to meet you. So get in here and I will take you to his office, or study or whatever you want to call it!" I say trying to shut the door. He smiles, and walks behinds me, "You have a nice house." He says as I look back at him he is taking in the house. "Yeah it's nothing as grand as yours though." I throw out there. "So, but at least it has the homey feel to it." he retorts. I knock on my dad's office door, and I hear him yell to come in. "What's up bud?" he says not even looking up from the papers. "How'd you know I wasn't Danica?" I ask. "Because, your sister barges in without knocking." He says looking up and shifting his eyes to Seth. "Sadly you are the only child that has some kind of manners." He stands up taking off his glasses, putting them on the desk. Seth sees this as his queue he walks by me and takes my dad's hand and gives it a shake. "It's good to meet you sir, I'm Seth Parsons." "That's a nice firm handshake. What did you say your last name was son?" My dad asks. "Parsons, Sir." Seth says walking back to my side. "By chance, is your father Buck?" My dad says more like an accusation than a question. Seth smiles, "Yes sir that would be him." "Well hell it is a small world after all, I am working with him on this project, well mess you see all over my desk. Hell son tell him he owes me a drink!" He says chuckling. "I had no idea yall worked together." He says. "Oh yeah, your father normally sends some jobs my way, and I do the same for him. Hell I have known him and your mother since we were teenagers. How is Amy?" "She is doing great, she just got back home. Buck is still up there at the site. That is really cool, it is such a small world who would have ever thought." "Good to hear, she is a nice lady, her and my late wife always got along so well. So where do you plan on taking this knuckle head?" I shoot my dad a look, I can't believe he mentioned mom to him, he's a complete stranger! "Well sir, I wanted to take him back into Austin if that's ok to P Terry's. It's my favorite place to eat. I also wanted to know if it would be ok if Colton stayed the night, I wanted to maybe catch a movie or something. Of course that's only if you want to Colt." He says. My dad thinks it over, I had no idea that he wanted me to spend the night, hell he didn't even ask me if it was ok. "I don't see why not, it will be good for him to get out of the house. Besides I know your parents. " I feel both sets of eyes on me, "I guess yeah that would be cool." I say trying not to blush, "I just need to pack a bag." "Well y'all scram, I have work to do. Colton, stop back by before you leave." I tell him ok, "So I guess you can see my room." I tell him as we leave my dad's office. As we enter my room, "you didn't ask me about staying the night, when you talked to me earlier." I say. Seth kind of flinches, "Look I am sorry, I just kind of sprung it on myself too. Look I really want to make up for when I was an asshole." He says giving me these pleading eyes. I let out a sigh, and grab a duffle bag from my closet. I grab an extra pair of jeans, and a red shirt and stuff them in, I move to my dresser and stuff some briefs in the bag really quick hoping he doesn't see them, and then some socks. I turn to watch him looking around my room. "I like your room, it's comfortable." He says sitting on my bed. I open my mouth to reply and before I can Dani pops her head in my room, "Who's mustang is in the yard and who the hell are you?" She says looking at Seth. She comes all the way in my room. "I'm Seth. Who are you?" He stands up to shake her hand. "You were the dick headed prick that was rude as hell to my brother?" She says getting in his face. "Danica stop it!" I yell at her. "Like what are you even doing Colton?" She says gesturing to my bag. "I invited Colt to stay the night at my house." He says to her smiling. She rolls her eyes, "If you are ever a dick to my brother again, you won't ever have to worry about using protection when you have sex because I will castrate you!" she says. "Dani!" I yell. Seth just smiles, "That's quiet alright love, I don't plan on having kids. It was great to meet you." She rolls his eyes, "Call me if you want to come home I'll come get you!" she says as she leaves. "I think she likes me." He says smiling at me. "Let's go dude." I tell him shaking my head. We head back down the stairs, "I am going to go say bye to my dad." "Cool I will get the car started; want me to take your bag?" I hand him my bag and he just gives me a smile, "I'll be out in a minute." I knock on my dad's office door and enter, "Well I'm off." "You got money?" He asks. I nod, "Okay good. Son he comes from a good family, I know a little about him from conversations with Buck he isn't a bad kid. A little angry at things, but nothing too bad. You sure you know he is straight I mean he already has a pet name for you." My dad says. "Dad no, there is no way in hell a guy like him will be even remotely gay. I wish he was, I mean he is just wow." I blush a deep red, "Whatever bye dad I love you!" "Love you too bud." He says going back to his paper work. I make my way to the door and Dani is right there, "What!" I say. "Look I'm serious call me if you need me to pick you up. Look I know guys like him Colt, don't fall for a straight boy you will get your heart broken." "What the fuck is with everyone thinking I am going to fall in love with SETH! He is just a guy friend like Jeff. Don't worry about me Danica worry about yourself!" I tell her getting pissed. "Someone has to worry about you! So sorry for caring about my twin brother!" she says storming away. "Dani....." I plead. She turns around "What!" "Look I'm sorry, but everyone is always protecting me and it's getting kind of annoying! Look I love you and dad, but maybe sometimes I need to get hurt in order to learn. Besides he isn't even gay." I tell her. She relaxes her shoulders, "if he does hurt you I will hurt him in so many ways. Go have fun brother!" she says walking back to me and hugging me. "Thanks Dani." I tell her as I walk out of the house to the driveway where Seth is waiting in his car for me. As he sees me coming his way, he puts on this huge smile.
