Curiosity Chapter 1.
Change does not seem to come easily to some people. They resent it and do
anything in their power to stop it, or at least subdue it and allow small
manageable amounts of change to happen.
I was never one of these, i sometimes didnt like what cahnge wrought but
i realised that i could only control myself and not much else so why
bother.
i suppose this is the part where i tell you my stats, well kay lets
see...um. im 17, called joshua, 6' with messy brown/blond hair and blue
eyes well sort of greenee grey or bluey grey. Whatever. im skinny around
8.5 or 9 stone which is light for my age. physically i am not mr muscles i
have slight muscle definition but no major Mr Hulk going on here at all. I
dont know how to describe my looks i guess you would say long neck, with a
defined but soft not harsh chin and an oval shaped fave with high
cheekbones creating a slight dimp in the oval. i have full lips not BIG
lips FULL lips (there is a difference) a straight nose with a slight bump
along the bridge, which is supposedly sweet. And according to my mum i have
very pretty eyes, and no not big blue eyes all blinky and watery, i have
blue eyes and they are big and i have largish eyelashes but they are a nice
shape not like previously mentioned. overall (according to my mum) i am a
handsome guy in the unusual but good looking group.
Phew... was that what you wanted?
Now i live in a village, a small no shops but two pubs village, called
broom, yes broom. I have lived here since i was 3, and dont really know
much place else apart from the local town where i spent my fantastic and
fun fillled educational years (imagine a scowl and a sarcastic eyebrow lift
here it might help to get to know me).
Life is alright my family are happy i guess, mum dad, and my sister
ruth, who has a fuckhead of a boyfriend she has moved in with.
School as you might have guessed i hated with a passion and i didnt get
along with many people there so i ended up hating most of them and they
hated me. i had a few friends mostly female as the guys were all drug heads
and twats and below human intelligence, they all walked around going
"ug..ugugug..oog.ugug" basically.
So this all gave me a bit of an independent turn of mind you could say i
do what i want not what i should supposedly be doing for my sex or my age
or whatever. Unfortuantly so many years of this can lead to problems, i
ended up just not getting along with most guys at all really it became
habit forming, i didnt think i needed any male friends i was quite happy on
my own or with a few close female friends. Or so i told myself, i used to
sometimes daydream about meeting a guy who was like me into the same
things, but it was never gonna happen.
There is just something in the teenage malemindset which makes them all
turn into one huge amorphous and homogenous group or stereotype, i seemed
to be luckily deficient in this area.
Sexually however things werent as fine, i new from a young age that i
liked guys i think i new when i was about 10, and before puberty i didnt
even think about it but puberty hit and whenever i was having a wank a
sweaty naked guy my age would always be in my head. But the minute i came i
went back to thinking i didnt need guys in my life as friends or whatever.
But like i say change happens and i dont really fight it, it just
happens. and boy did it happen.
It was just another wednesday during half term, fuck all to do middle
of summer, and such like so i was just strolling over to the pub to buy
some cigarettes, on the way back i heard some laughter and glanced over to
my left down the street, there in the distance at the other end of the
village were two figures. One i vaguely remembered as some newish by two
years to the village he was a year younger than me and i had never spoken
to him. The other i didnt recognise, all i could see was a lanky frame
similar to mine and an indistinct at this distance face. i didnt give it
another thought and just carried on home.

"oh him yeah he's called Joshua, he lives on woodland drive, bit of a
loner doesn't come out much, i dunno he just isnt very friendly" James was
saying to me but i wasnt really listening. something about the guy had
caught my eyes he was about my hight and lanky he looked a bit skaterish,
and interesting. But then he was gone.
"Talen?, earth to Talen..?" james startled me.
"uh..yeah?" i mumbled. James was this dude who was showing me around the
place, i had just moved in with my mum after the divorce we got a good
settlement so could afford a nice place in the country.
"hey what time is it man, i gotta get home and help my mum unpack soon" i
said suddenly remembering her dire warning of being late.
"oh uh about sort of..um..1.00" james mumbled, i swore and shouted a 'cya
later' over my back as i legged it home. i rushed threw the door just as my
mum was lugging some stuff downstairs.
"hey honey meet any nice friends? theres a sandwhich in the kitchen for you
and once you have eaten that you can come and help me unload all of your
sports gear and OVER pricey nike gear" she finished eyeing me cruelly.
i flashed her a devil maycare smile and said "but theyre cool and you want
me to be dressed well yeah?" i countered.
"if by that you mean dressed like some yob in a tracksuit thensure honey"
she mumbled as she went upstairs.
i smiled and went into the kitchen to eat my sandwhich, that guy i had
seen, what had James called him? Joshua thats it, he kept on popping into
my head, i dont know why he just did, he looked cool i wonder if James had
ever made the effort to talk to him?
A few hours later and after some serious unpacking of boxes and bags we
had everything pretty much done, standing in my new bedroom mum put her arm
around my shoulders and said "see all done didnt take long did it?"
i jokingly scowled at her and said "nah just most of the day" she laughed
and poked me in the ribs.
"we need to feed you more youre too lanky"
"mum im fine i work out a bit leave my health out of this" and stuck my
tongue out at her.
she smiled, "well how about a pub dinner to sort of celebrate the new house
yeah?" she asked.
"sounds good to me, ill get changed and have a shower i stink" i said
smelling myself.
"yeah you do"my mum shouted bolting to her room. i laughed and closed the
door.
i dont know whether it was just being 17 or something but working up a
sweat was ludicrously easy, i stripped my polo shirt off rubbing my hand
over my stomach noticing the partial muscle definition hehe maybe situps
worked after all huh? i pulled my tracks off and then my jockeys and
walked to the bathroom attached to my room my mum had one in her room
aswell witch was good.
i stepped under the shower and soaped myself up making sure my balls were
done as they always seemed to get hot and sweaty the most being between two
legs and under a cock no wonder i laughed a little to myself stretching my
foreskin, i considered having a wank remembering this pin up girl i had
seen in the pertol station on the way here but my mum was already shouting
so decided not to. i cleaned off and stepped out and grabbed a towel and
went into my room and while drying off picked out some underwear and decent
clothes.
it was about six when we stepped out of the house and walked down the
high street to the pub. it was kinda a weird high street as there werent
any shops on it at all, James was telling me earlier how they had a post
office once but the person who ran it died and no one bothered to open
another one.
we stepped into the pub and mum went to get some drinks i asked for a
cider but she scowled which meant "you'll have whatever i choose young
man". i stepped into an empty room and sat down, looking about it was a
nice pub with an older feel to it not some snazzy 'bar' but an actual
pub. Mum came back with the menus and we sat in silence for a couple of
seconds deciding what we wanted. i had just picked up my glass to have a
sip (of coke-mums!) when in walked the waiter, i glanced at him and
realised it was that Joshua guy from earlier, i noticed that he was very
good looking but seemed uncomfortable in the smarter clothes he was wearing
for work. he came over to the table and in a quiet but strong voice asked
what we would like for food. My mum piped up and ordered a scampi and
chips, ".....Talen" my mum nudged me back into myself,
"oh sorry umm ill have a lasagne and chips please" i said looking at him.
He smiled a little smile to himself and repeated our order and then left.
"bit strange wasnt he" my mum stated (she liked to state things).
"I dunno seemed okay to me little quiet but hey so what... James from next
door said he was a bit of a loner around the village but i cant see why" i
said pondering someone that good looking surely was a hit with the girls,
and most guys my age would kill just to be seen with someone that good
looking as it make them seem cool, strange.
Me and my mum chatted about stuff until the food arrived, balanced on
Joshua's arms he had a little frown of concentration and was chewing his
bottom lip. Obviously he didnt like carrying so many things at a time. he
put our plates down and some sauce and cutlery, "thanks" i said smiling at
him hoping i might get some sort of response, but he just smiled a sort of
shy smile with a far off look in his eyes and walked out. We ate our
dinners and talked about our plans for the future, i was gonna be attending
a sixth form in the nearest town to start my A' levels. I was kinda nervous
about it, y'know all that new guy malarky but i wasnt panicking or anything
that would probably come when i stepped off the school bus and went into
the gates. That was another thing to think about cause this was such a
small village and in the area were a number of small villages dotted
around, that a number of school buses supposedly was pointless so they had
one which did the rounds, i suddenly wondered which school Joshua was at
and if he went on the bus i was getting.
We got home kinda late and knackered from all the unpacking i stripped
off everything and got into bed it was too hot for pyjamas, looking at my
bedroom ceiling in the darkness my hand made its way down my stomach and
over my pubes until it found my cock which was really warm in this
heat. Remembering that pin up girl i started rubbing myself and was soon

The rest of the week passed quietly while me and my mum sorted everything
out. i got my computer up and running and connected to the internet as soon
as the phone was connected. My mum sorted her kitchen appliances out and
was busy doing all that until it was monday.
I woke up groggily at the sound of my alarm, 6.30 jesus im never
gonna get used to this, i had to get up so early cause this village was one
of the first stops along the way of many others to pick up all the kids, so
early it was i had a quick shower, then pulled on some fresh jockeys, and a
pair of dark blue jeans slightly baggy but not much and a white t-shirt,
and trainers. Mum was still in bed so i made some toast and checked i had
the papers i needed for school, i had enlisted at the school on saturday
and just needed some last minute forms signed, i also made sure i had some
pens and paper cause otherwise i would like a twat asking for some on my
first day. then shouldering my bag, i walked out the door the sun was
pretty much up and things were obviously gonna be very warm today.
I made my way down the road to stand outside the pub we had been to on
wednesday cause thats was where the school bus stopped. it was about 6.55,
when from the street directly in front of the pub and me, a figure came
striding round the corner and crossed the road. it was Joshua looking
skatery, in a long green sleeved tshirt with a white body and 3/4 lenghth
skater jeans n and blue trainers smoking a cigarette and looking confused.
he stopped suddenly and looked back down his street seemingly muttering
something the he shook his head and haltingly carried on walking. when he
had got to the other side of the road on which i was he glanced about and
noticed me i gave him a friendly smile he smiled a small smile back then
looked away quickly and carried on smoking. His expression was odd not
bored and not lofty just disinterested but not in an apathetic way or
anything almost a challenge kinda disinterested sort of saying "so what" to
some comment unheard or something. There was no denying it he had caught my
interest, what was his deal, why so expressionless most of the time the
quietness, i decided then and there to talk to him, but just as i opened my
gob the bus came round the village green and pulled up in front of me i got
on a bit hesitantly and ignoring the only two people on the bus so far went
past and sat about half way down. i slouched down, and watched Joshua as he
stepped on and started walking down the middle, his expression hadnt
changed and he didnt even give the other two who he must know a glance as
he sat two seats down and on the right off me. i stared at his blondbrown
hair which was messy in a cool way although it was obvious he didnt do
anything with it, as the bus pulled away the rest of the journey was pretty
nonexistant a couple of people spoke to me one lad and a girl who was
pretty but too young for me.
it also turned out my school was the last stop aswell, as we pulled up i
stood up and shouldered my bag and swayed as the bus came to a stop then
walked to the door, as i was passing Joshuas seat i noticed that he had
fallen asleep his long eyelashes dark as they were shown up against his
fair skin. i looked about then leant over and gave his shoulder a
nudge. his head snapped up the turned to me.
"we're here" i said smiling stupidly, he glanced out the window, then
smiled a little ruefully ruffling his alredy ruffled hair yawned grabbed
his bag and walked of the bus mumbling a thanks.
I got off the bus and panic set in at all the unknown teens around, i
forced myself to relax and walked in the gate it wasnt too bad as i was
older than most of the kids there as i was going into sixth form and most
were GCSE years still having to wear school uniform. I noticed a few other
normal clothed people and guessed they were sixth form aswell i carried on
walking down a path by a hedge which opened up to a paved square with
groups of uniform clad people hanging around.i didnt see any other sixth
formers and i didnt have a clue where to go.
"you lost?" a voice said behind me.
i whirled around and faced Joshua who breathed out smoke from his fag, "i
just wanted to say thanks for waking me, Joshua" he said holding out his
hand awkwardly, i shook it.
"yeah i know, Talen" i said shaking his hand.
"oh hows that?" he asked curious.
"oh uh James from my street told me" i said casually.
His eyes rolled at that name and he took a last drag form his fag then
dropped it, "hmm him, anyway yeah where you going?" looking around
disinterestedly at the kida around us some of whom, girls, were eyeing him
up but he didnt even seem aware of it.
"you do know a girl over there is eyeing you up dont you?" i asked wanting
to see his reaction.
He surprised me by blushing bright red and shifting uncomfortably and
simply said, "oh".
I smiled inspite of myself, obviously he wasnt a ladies man although with
his looks i couldnt understand why maybe he just didnt have the right
personality for that.
He coughed and said, "so yeah umm where ya' goin?"
"uhh i have to go to reception and give them some forms then i have
register with some Mr.Panthle or something", i said feeling a bit helpless
wich i wasnt used to.
"oh right cool youre in my form group then, Mr.Panthle is alright a twat
but alright i just ignore him most of the time, follow me i'll take you to
both". he said and sauntered up a path towards some steps. Joshua took me
to reception where i gave my forms in to the old lady.
"why do school receptions always have little old lady's workin them?" i
asked inanely trying to get a conversation started.
He actually laughed, a clear strong laugh but didnt answer my question
instead he just pointed things out for me along the way. We were walking
past the library which Joshua was pointing out to me, when a voice broke
the quiet,
"hey Joshua youre a shit man go back from where you came and die or summin
and do us a favour yeah?" a male voice said loudly everyone who was walking
down the corridor looked his way but Joshua's disinterested expression
didnt even flutter as he turned although his strangely couloured eyes did
seem to darken a little as he answered back in a the coldest voice and most
uncaring voice i have ever heard, "fuck you" he didnt even seem to be
looking at the guy who had said it he seemed to be looking through him
almost, if thats doesnt sound too weird. Then as if absolutly nothing had
happened he turned back to me as we carried on walking and resumed talking
in his earlier detached but not unfriendly voice the guy who had insulted
him just stared maliciously as Joshua breezed past him like a lion stepping
over a flea or something it was that intense the atmosphere around Joshua
you could almost tell how he thought about something just from being around
him and this guy obviously meant absolutly zilch to him that he didnt even
seem to be aware of him anymore as he stepped past still talking to me.
the moment passed and we made it to class Joshua introduced me to
Mr.Panthle and thenwent and took a seat at the back of the classand almost
resolutly turned to face the waindow as if no one else was in the room. of
course there were though, some lads and a few girls i noticed looking
around as Mr.Panthle said hello and welcome to me. I noticed one girl
pretty in an unusual way, walk to the back and sit next to Joshua who
turned his head and smiled his good looking smile at her and they started
chatting.
"please just take a seat Talen and ill get the register started then we can
figure out your timetable okay?" i nodded and looked around for a seat
there was one on the bench in front of the one Joshua and the girl were
seated at. so i walked down and sat on the stool, and looked around as
Mr.Panthle started calling names.
"hey"
"hey" i glanced around but no one seemd to have spoken.
"hey..Talen" i glanced behind me and the pretty girl seated next to Joshua
smiled at me.
"hey youre Talen right im Katie" she said introducing herself.
I smiled and said "hey" back.
"what class have you got first?" she asked me all the while Joshua was
looking out the window although he did glance at me once with strangely odd
eyes then looked back.
"i dunno i gotta figure out my timetable with Mr.Panthle after this" i
replied.
"cool well i have a free period so i will wait for you okay and if youre
free i will show you around okay?" she asked hesitantly.
"that would be great thanks" i said smiling warmly at the first proper
friendship signal so far. i wouldnt classify this mornings little excursion
with Joshua anything like that he was too spaced out really.
Mr.Panthle finished the register and everyone filed out, Joshua the lastout
walking at a steady and unhurried pace dissapeared round the corner and the
door closed.
"right Talen lets sort your timetable out shall we...can i help you Katie?"
Mr.Panthle asked her.
"oh no im fine im waiting for Talen i have a free period and thought i
would show him around a bit if he did aswell. thats all" she said smiling.
"oh okay well lets find out shall we" he pulled out a few bits of paper and
we started figuring out my lessons as it turned out i did have a free first
lesson so katie who giggled dragged me out of the room and out of the
building over the the main school block.
"the common room for sixth formers is this way" she said tugging my arm.
she started rambling about different people and teachers lessons and
suchlike until i asked her.
"so are you friends with Joshua? then hes real quiet isnt he" i asked
interested in her answer.
"yeah i am about the only one apart from a few others he's alright keeps
himself to himself mostly he hates school so he just wants to get it over
and done with as quick as possible i think thats all hes a really nice guy
qwhen you get to know him." she said.
"oh right cool so why doesnt he have girls all over him then? hes a really
good looking bloke" i stated matter of factly.
Katie laughed loudly as she draged me through some double doors, "joshua
covered in girls not likely like i said he keeps himself to himself even
from girls and trust me many have tried." she says with a smirk, "he is one
of those rare people who seems to be quite content by themselves and the
few people he is freinds with keep him satisfied i guess" she said
shrugging.
i nodded my head while thinking that he sounded more and more interesting.
The rest of the day was a blur i got shown around and talked to a few
people, made a couple of general first schoolday friendships, that you do,
that never last a month.
on the whole it was alright nothing to talk about really. On the bus home i
thought about what katie had said at the begining of the day, about Johsua
and my eyes sought him out automatically. he was sitting a couple of seats
away from me listening to music, staring blankly out the window obvioulsy
far away again. i decided i was gonna get to know him then and there.

Well thats school for you i thought to myself it sucks i sighed a little
staring out the window on the bus home. That new guy..uh Talen he seemed
alright actually on first impression he certainly wasnt hard on the eyes
lanky like me and about my height, with light brown hair and almost hazel
eyes and a sexy smile doesnt hurt to look anyway. the bus pulled up and i
stepped off and started walking for home then decided to have a cigarette
first so leant against the pubs wall and lit up. staring at nothing
thinking about nothing inparticular, when i heard something.
"uh hello?"
i glanced up and noticed Talen standing a couple of feet away, far off
again Joshua. I took in his hot face then said " hey"
"hey you alright? seemed a little out of it there" he said smiling funny.
I barked a little laugh at myself and said "nah im fine just daydreaming is
all" and shrugged. He stayed silent so i added a little hesitantly
"so...uh...how was your first day? Katie said she showed you around and she
said she thought you were cute" i said smiling friendly like.
He blushed a little which was cute, then said "really? cool. uh yeah it was
alright a bit of a blur but it seems fine enough its just school really
y'know, uh i was wondering what is there to do around here anyway? cause
its a pretty quiet village" he asked.
i considered what he had asked then replied, "well mostly nothing some
people just hang around the green or whatever, i usually just stay at home
on my computer or if i have nothing else to do i go sit up by the lake next
to the woods and have a couple of joints and a cider or two. that sort of
thing."
"whats your email adress, do you have umm whassit..msn...thingy?" he asked
looking down the road.
"uh yeah im faroff@mail listen i had better be getting in i'll see you
around yeah?" i asked picking up my bag.
"yeah sure see ya later." he said smiling and walking off down the road.
* * *
When i got home i shouted for mum who shouted a hi then i dumped my stuff
in my bedroom and got a coke and went upstairs and onto the computer, we
had dinner about 6 as usual then i went back on the computer my sister
phoned asking for more money as per usual as her boyfriend spent all hers
and didnt work. i was flashing around a website of a band i liked when i
got a message on MSN asking if sticky@mail could add me to their msn, i
didnt know who they were but i usually said yes assuming it was someone
from one of many band mailing lists i was on.
a couple of seconds later i got a message box pop up:
sticky: hey uh Joshua it's Talen here i hope you dont mind i added you to
my contacts...?
faroff: no thats okay its fine
sticky: cool so uhh what's up?
faroff: not much you know why 'sticky'?
sticky: bad joke really an old friend of mine had with me about cum.hehe it
was stupid.
faroff: oh...okay :) uhh wanna go for a joint? im getting bored and a
couple of joints and some cider seems inviting wanna come?
sticky: sure okay uh where?
faroff:umm youre in the next street on arent you what number?
sticky: oh, uh, 6
faroff: ill come round and pick you okay?
sticky: sure okay see you in five yeah?
faroff: sure cya.
sticky: cya.
Joshua switched his computer off and then went into his bedroom and
rummaged around for his stash tin and papers then grabbed a couple of cider
cans each for him and Talen and left the house. He didnt know why he had
invited Talen along but the guy seemed okay so maybe it would be alright.
He made his way to Talen's house and knocked on the door, it was
answered by talen's mum
"yes can i help?" she asked.
"umm is talen around?" Joshua asked. just then Talen came bounding down
the stairs,
"oh hey Joshua mum this is joshua, Joshua this is mu..uh jackie i mean"
they smiled at each other, as talen pulled on his other shoe.
"me and Joshua are going for a walk down to the lake okay mom?"
"sure honey be home by 12 alright?" Talen nodded and closed the door behind
him.
they set off down the road, "so how long have you lived in broom Joshua?"
talen asked.
"oh god about since i was... three? i think fucking ages. What about you
why did you move here?" Joshua asked unusually interested.
"My parents got a divorce and my dad moved to london so me and my mum moved
out here nice houses and my mom wnated somewhere quiet to work, she works
from home you see so she loved it." Talen replied following Joshua off the
road and onto a dirt track leading towards a forest.
"cool that makes sense, so what about where you were from originally any
old friends...girlfriends? that sort of thing?" Joshua asked hoping for a
good answer.
"no not really well i had a couple of mates but we werent like best buds or
anything and i have never had a girlfriend never wanted one really"Talen
said sounding slightly embarrassed.
"hey thats cool me either" Joahua said pushing through some trees.
"really i would have thought they would be all over you?" talen said
sounding suprised.
"whys that then?" Joshua asked sounding confused.
"well because youre..." Talen suddenly realised that telling another guy
they were good looking was something you didnt do and clamped his mouth
shut. "oh uh nothing i just thought they would be you know no reason." what
the hell was I thinking this guy was being friendly and I was about to say
something which sounded so gay Johsua would probably run a mile thinking I
was bent as a corner.
Talen quickly changed the subject, "so we nearly there yet?"
Joshua gave him a look then burst out laughing.
"youre weird" he said between laughs grinning.
Talen laughed and grinned back.
"here we are" joshua said shrugging past another tree, Talen followed him
and found himself standing on grass surrounded by trees on all sides except
in front of where they were standing there was the begining of a lake that
glittered under the slow sunset.
Talen looked around, "cool"
Joshua walked up to the waters edge shrugged his shoes and socks off and
sat on the edge his feet in the water. "come on the water will cool youre
feet down"
Talen sat down beside Joshua and did the same, while joshua cracked open a
couple of cider cans handing one to Talen and then started rolling a joing
for them.
Talen took a gulp of cider and looked about "so this is where you come to
relax huh?" he said waggling his eyebrows at Joshua suggestively.
Joshua laughed and lightly backhanded Talen on the shoulder "yeah i do but
not like that i have a comfy bed and a box of kleenex for that " he said
laughing. He eyed Talen then said "but i bet youre into some kinky outdoor
action yeah being one with the plants and all that hehe" he laughed as
talen gaped then hit him in return.
"well come to think of it plants are kinda sexy..those sooo green leaves
and the stems" talen said laughing miming rubbing a plant up and down
"plants are a big turn on for me" he said seriously then cracking up again,
he took a swill of cider, as Joshua lit up inhaling and leaning back on his
elbows.
they were quiet for a few moment looking out at the lake, then Talen asked
curiously "so how often do you come out here?"
Joshua took another drag and passed the joint to Talen before answering, he
slowly let his breath out the smoke trailing from his lips "umm i dunno
every other evening helps me relax i suppose"
Talen nodded inhaling mentally noting that this was some good stuff, "cool
a boys gotta have something else to relax by i suppose" he said laughing
quietly.
Joshua flashed him a grin, "i think im begining to see why youre called
sticky online do you talk about wanking a lot?" he asked grining.
Talen blushed then laughed "i dunno, never really thought about it before
well thats a lie i do think about it a lot dunno whether i talk about it a
lot though" he said laughing.
Talen and Joshua sat by the lake their feet occasionally brushing in
the water, as they talked to each other, friendship blooming.
Change can sometimes be good.
