Tears began to roll down Davey's cheeks as he realized the great honor
which had just been given him. Others assembled in the room also realized
that what had just taken place was an historical event in the annals of
Karate. Johnny was the first to embrace and kiss his partner, proud to have
him as a boyfriend.

Davey escorted this wise old man out to the taxi that was waiting to take
him to the airport.  Once they reached the cab both of them bowed once
again to each other and then embraced as a father and son would. This was a
very humbling experience for Davey and one he would treasure for the rest
of his life.

Fung Ho's parting words also reduced Davey once more to tears, "You will
achieve everything that you set out to do, you will conquer the world and
more, your name will go down in history."

Davey with Johnny Walker standing just behind watched as the taxi cab
vanished from view before Davey turned, falling into his lovers arms in
tears. "He is the most remarkable man I have ever met, it was a great honor
to meet him." He said as they walked hand in hand back into the building.

While all this was taking place Garrett was starting his training at the
hospital in the AIDS ward where he met and fell in love with Edwin. Doctor
Evans explained to him that he would be rostered at the judge's request on
shift work but he would also after a couple of weeks be attending college
twice a week.

One bonus for him was that Edwin had to go into the ward twice a week so
that tests could be done and a report made on the experimental drugs he was
on. It was during one of these visits that Doc Evens took Edwin and Garrett
into his office, "I think I'd better explain to you both before your hopes
get built up too high." He began, "While right now Edwin you're feeling
great and cured, let me make sure you both understand. "

Right now there is no cure for AIDS and you will always have it Edwin.  All
this wonder drug you are taking right now is doing is providing you with
extra time which you would not have had without it.  I'm being blunt and
laying it on the line to make sure you understand.

Without that drug I'm afraid you would have died several weeks ago but this
drug is giving you extra time. Boys make the most of it because we don't
know how long a time you have right now. I hope and pray that it will be
years and years but the drug company keeps telling me they cannot give any
guarantees." The two young guys looked at him without saying a word.  The
doctor thought he might have overdone it and scared the living daylights
out of them until Edwin spoke, "Doctor, we have talked about this many
times and we realized early on that when I started on the drug that my time
was limited.  With Doctor Jamieson's help we are quite prepared for the
time when I finish up my days back in this ward.

In the meantime our love for each other will keep us going until that time
arrives." Doc Evans marveled at the words of wisdom coming out of the mouth
of one so young. Being at the hospital all day and with Garrett on day
shift they were able to have lunch together in the hospital cafeteria.
Once they had finished eating they sat holding hands despite being starred
at by those around them.  I hope and pray that you live to a ripe old age
Edwin, Garrett said.  "I so dearly want to be with you for ever and ever
but if God takes you sooner I've prepared myself to accept this.  While I
will cry when you're gone and never ever forget you, I am prepared for
this."

They both began to have tears in their eyes and decided they had better
change the subject quick, but not before they had a quick kiss. Then looked
around at the expressions on some people's faces and burst out laughing.

After all the razzamatazz of the big parade and awarding of medals the work
load for Luke and Jason slowly got back to normal. They then began to
prepare for the next round of talks in the schools after the spring break.

Jason was still worried about everybody knowing he was gay and a couple of
nasty notes had already been slipped under his door which upset him.  He
didn't say anything to Luke because he knew the chief would find out and a
big inquiry would follow.

His partner, Gerald was very supportive although he too had problems in the
workplace and even in the street. It was the gay taunts that he was getting
from members on the police force which upset him the most. He also received
several obscene e-mails and while through their IP address he would be able
to track down the culprits, he decided to leave well enough alone.

Meanwhile Luke, his counterpart Paul and Chief Falster had started a secret
inquiry into corruption and bribery within the police force.  The chief had
requested help from the Texas Rangers and a team would be arriving very
soon to work undercover along with the three chiefs to stamp it out. As the
chief pointed out it might mean losing a large number of officers if what
he has heard is true.  If that happens they will just have to work through
it but he is keen to see a clean and honest police force emerge at the end
of it.

Davey and Johnny walker went to see Dr. Keith Jamieson, who wondered what
was happening because it wasn't Davey's normal appointment day.  He invited
them to come in and sit down, "And what is the purpose of this visit today
guys?" He asked

Both boys were silent for a while, then Davey spoke up, "I was wondering
Dr. Jamison if you could arrange for us to go and visit Jarod in prison?"
Keith was a bit taken aback at first, then he asked, "Why do you want to do
that Davey?"

"I feel so guilty and blame myself for him being there, after all I seduced
him and he was so helpful towards me before I moved to El Paso. Now I feel
deep down that I want so much to see him and say sorry."

"I understand that Davey but you must realize that he did break the law
because of your age and that is why he is in prison now. That isn't your
fault Davey even if you instigated the sex.  Jarod should have resisted but
instead he allowed himself to be seduced by you and it was then that he
broke the law."

Davey just kept shaking his head and was getting quiet frustrated with
Keith because he wasn't able to get his point across, "Look, please listen
to me.  I know what I did by seducing Jarod was my fault and I should never
have tempted him that way.  Yes, by him having sex with me he did break the
law but I still feel guilty as hell because I put him in prison and no
matter what you say I did put him there.

If I hadn't led him on he would never have been arrested, tried, sentenced
and winding up where he is now.  Therefore I want to see him just this once
to say sorry." By now some tears had begun to form and Johnny leant across
to console his lover. Keith was silent for a while, weighing up the pros
and cons before finally speaking, "While I think this could be a big
mistake Davey I will contact the prison authorities and see if a visit to
the prison at Alamogordo is possible.

If they give it the green light and say yes, I will take you both and
supervise the visit, is that understood?" Both boys nodded their heads
before Keith continued, "If at any time I see problems arising during the
visit or if you get too emotional Davey I will end the visit right there
and then. Is that understood?" Again both boys nodded with Davey getting up
from his chair then going around Keith's desk to give him a big hug.

Just as they were leaving Keith dropped another bombshell, "And of course
you will both have to seek permission from your parents before we can go
any further." Both boys said they would contact their mom's right away,
after training. Then Keith had another thought, "It would also be courteous
for you to tell Jonathon your plans as well, don't you agree?"  Reluctantly
once again they nodded in agreement but were dreading the idea.

Training was next so they had to face Jonathon first.  Davey explained
while pretty much using the same words he did with Dr. Jamison and the look
on Jonathon's face said that he wasn't happy about the whole thing. "Davey
are you sure you want to do this. I fear that it will have a drastic effect
on your training, not so much physically but it could put you mentally a
long way back."

"Jonathon you should realize by now that my Karate training has conditioned
my mind to deal with just about anything put upon me.  I'm sure I can
handle this and it is something I must do for my own peace of mind anyway."

Jonathon reluctantly accepted the idea that he wouldn't be able to convince
Davey to abandon this idea and the evenings training got underway. Towards
the end of the session with both boys pretty much exhausted Jonathon
suggested they call it a night.  Because they were going to see their
mothers they should use the time jogging home.

This didn't please Davey's security who would have to jog along with him.
The detail on duty wasn't the fittest of the team. The two guys decided
that one would drive the car while the other jogged and they would change
places over at set intervals.  Davey and Johnny heard them making these
plans and couldn't help laughing.

They set off from the shelter at a blistering pace with the first guy
struggling to keep up.  Right from the start Davey and Johnny had to slow
down a bit so he could catch up. In fact the two security guys decided
right then and there that they would both ride in the car keeping up with
the two young runners.

This worked well until the boys stopped them saying they were taking a
shortcut through a park and while the security guys protested, Davey
insisted. One of them volunteered to go with the pair while the other one
would drive to the other side of the park and meet them there.

Both boys had to slow right down so that their guard didn't lag too far
behind. About halfway through they suddenly heard a yell behind them and
turning they saw their bodyguard being beaten up by three teenage thugs who
were after his wallet. Without thinking they both set off back the way they
came to help out the poor guy who was now on the ground being kicked by the
three guys.

Davey launched into the guys literally picking them up and throwing them
away like pieces of rags with Johnny following suit. The three didn't know
what hit them. One of them after he got up produced a knife and went after
Davey. Of course Davey's Karate training stood him in good stead and before
the guy knew what had happened his knife went flying through the air into
the bushes.  He then found himself once again flat on his back.

This time when they got up instead of attacking they took off racing into
the bushes and disappearing into the night. Davey and Johnny then turned
their attention to the security guard lying on the ground moaning.  The
sound of police sirens could be heard in the distance just as the other
guard came running up followed by a carload who had been summoned from the
house.

The police arrived followed by paramedics who then took the guard off to
the hospital with several cracked ribs and a lot of bruising. The police
took statements from Davey and Johnny who also gave them a good description
of the attackers. One police officer immediately identified the guys from
the description the boys gave and remarked at how they managed to fight
them off, "They are real tough guys who will take a life and not think
twice about it, plus they are very fit. How come you managed to beat them?"
Davey modestly explained that both of them had black belts in Karate. The
police officer laughed, "And he's supposed to guarding you?"

Just then a couple of family members arrived including Davey's eldest step
brother and as soon as the police realized who he was they understood why
Davey needed protection. His step brother was very concerned indeed about
what had happened.  He then turned on his Chief of Security complaining
about the staff they had looking after Davey, "From now on I want better
and fitter guards looking after my new brother. He then walked with them to
the edge of the park where he had parked his truck.  He took them home,
forbidding them to run anywhere until he had a decent security detail
capable of looking after them.

 Two anxious moms were waiting when they pulled up and the first thing they
wanted to know after checking they were all right was why they were home on
a weeknight.  Davey explained to both of them about how he wanted to visit
Jared in prison and say sorry. Both moms were worried and didn't approve of
what they had planned but felt that if Doctor Jamieson said ok and would be
with them all the time, they thought it would be safe.

Laughing Davey said, "A lot safer than that park mom."  That put everyone
in a better frame of mind as they laughed at that remark. As far as the
boys were concerned tonight wasn't all that good because they had to sleep
in their own beds in their own homes. Both houses were next to each other
but they might as well have been miles apart as far as they were concerned.

They were in Davey's house when bedtime came along and both of them walked
outside to say goodnight. They stood outside kissing and cuddling for about
five minutes until their moms told them it was bedtime and reluctantly
Johnny walked off to the house next door.

Davey went inside said goodnight with a kiss and a cuddle with the rest of
the family before going into his bedroom. Turning back the sheets he hopped
into bed without even bothering to have a shower. A night without Johnny
beside him was a depressing thought but just as he closed his eyes he heard
a tapping on his ground floor window. Jumping out of bed he went to
investigate and the face greeting him when he looked out of the window was
Johnny with a big wide grin on his face.

Quickly Davey opened the window to allow his lover to climb in.  As soon as
the window was closed again and curtains drawn they embraced and began

slowly backed towards the bed taking off clothing as they went. By the time

need his security by the time the lunch break came around.

Both Davey and Johnny didn't like school very much. Oh they didn't mind the
learning and work but they preferred to stay at home and be tutored by
Jonathon Mars who was a much more caring and dedicated teacher than most of
the those in the high school.

Once the bell for the lunch break sounded both guys headed for the gym for
a light workout. On the way they were stopped by a bunch of guys who
blocked their way down the corridor. They began pushing them and making
remarks that fagots weren't all that tough. One guy who appeared to be the
ringleader said, "You bashed up our friends last night, they would have
fixed you two up good if the cops hadn't arrived. "

They started pushing them around between each other forming a circle so
they couldn't get away. Davey whispered to Johnny, "Don't do anything
because being in school we could get into trouble." So they took the
pushing and shoving not worrying too much and they were right.  Suddenly
boys began to fly through the air as three of the family's security people
came barging in, throwing guys left and right like pieces of paper. Once
they got to the Davey and Johnny they forming a shield around them begging
someone to have a go but everyone immediately backed off and soon the
corridor was clear.

One of the new guys apologized for the delay saying, "Sorry we took so long
to get to you but they had some of their mates blocking the corridor and we
had trouble getting through." Davey held out his hand saying, "That's all
right, we could have taken action ourselves but didn't want to do it in
school in case we got into trouble." With a clear passage they were able to
make their way to the gym and both of them did a thirty minute workout
before heading off for a quick light lunch. That was the only time the two
of them had any trouble at school as word quickly spread about the
bodyguards and also what they had done to those hoodlums the night before.

Sally and Bethany were very busy at the Hostel.  Not busy enough for their
relationship and love for each other to suffer but for it to grow

been resolved and they were living in harmony.

Because she was the head of the department and in fact now second in
command of the Hostel behind the owner and his partner she only worked day
shift, while Bethany was on the roster and had to do her share of

"I feel at times like going out and causing bodily harm to some of these
people, give them some of their own medicine."

"I know it's not easy darling but just remember we are the good guys.
While it is hard to control ourselves and our tempers when we come across
these fragile little children we have to keep our cool and just do what you
always do sweetheart, hug and comfort them and make them feel at home."

They both looked around the dining room and seeing no one was taking any
particular notice of them they managed to steal a quick kiss before Sally
headed off to her first meeting of the day.

Keith Jamieson was in his office on the phone talking to the warden of the
prison in which Jarod was incarcerated. He was explaining the reasons for
the visit by Davey, Johnny and himself.  At first the warden was a little
bit unsure if the visit was a valid reason, but he had heard about Doctor
Jamieson and the wonderful work he was doing with abused children.  So with
the good doctors assurance that the visit would be ok he sent word down to
the cells to check with Jarod Dempsey if he wanted this visit or not, "If
Jarod himself says no I will abide by his wishes and if he is in agreement
then we will go ahead and set up a time and date.

I'll get back to you shortly as soon as I find out if Jarod is willing to
meet Davey." He hung up the phone and Keith thought to himself Jarod will
be delighted to have a visit from Davey because he still loves him.

He continued on doing some paperwork when not more than thirty minutes had
gone by when the phone rang with the warden stating that Jarod was
delighted at the prospect, which was exactly as Keith predicted. They made
arrangements for the next day after lunch for the visit to take place,
"While I know you will be on hand throughout the visit because these two
young men are just that young.  I will also have to insist that one of my
own people is also in the room for the whole visit."

Keith agreed with that, no problems at all and they finished their
conversation on that note. Keith was feeling a bit more pleased with
himself over the planned visit for which he had misgivings at first.  Now
though it would clear Davey's head once and for all and end a chapter of
his life which was best left behind.

That night Davey could hardly sleep as the excitement built up inside
him. Meanwhile Johnny was also feeling very nervous because he knew his
boyfriend still loved this man dearly and he was frightened of losing him.
Almost as if he could read his mind, in the darkness Davey turned to Johnny
saying, "Don't worry darling you're my man and always will be.  While I
love Jarod for what he was at the time, my savior who helped me from taking
my own life by being there for me.  He can never replace you and that is
one of the things I want to make clear to him later today.

I love you dearly Johnny and want to spend the rest of my life with you,
but this is something I must do to close a part of my life that is over. I
do hope that you understand that."

"Of course I do Davey, it's just this whole visit has got me nervous and
I'm so afraid one day I will lose you and then my life won't be worth
living." He leaned across in the darkness seeking Davey's lips which were
full of love and caring for the young man lying next to him. It was then
and only then that a peaceful sleep overtook him and he settled down in his
lovers arms.

They didn't seem to be asleep for very long before the alarm clock woke
them, just as the first light of day was creeping through the window. Just
because they would be gone for most of the day didn't mean they could sleep
in and miss the early morning training session.

Both boys had conditioned themselves to the strict training routine
Jonathon had them working to.  He was waiting in the gym for them when they
wandered in dressed in track pants and t-shirt tops ready to start work.

Two hours later it was off to the showers and then down for breakfast were
Keith was waiting for them, explaining that they would be leaving right
after they had eaten. As soon as they had finished they headed out to his
car for the two to three hour journey. He didn't know if it was nerves or
what but twice the boys asked Keith to stop so they could use the restroom
at the service station.

Finally they arrived at the prison gates and once Keith had explained what
the purpose of their visit was, they were allowed in. Walking through those
big gates with metal fences and razor wire everywhere made Davey seek out
Johnny's hand, they gripped each tightly too scared to let go.

Once inside they were searched before being placed in a tiny room with four
chairs and a table. The two boys and Keith sat on one side of the table
while the other chair was opposite. They sat in silence waiting with both
boys still holding hands underneath the table so tightly that their hands
had turned white.

The first person to enter was the warden who introduced himself to Keith
and the boys and he informed them that Jarod would be along shortly. He
told Keith that the whole meeting would be recorded on the camera set into
the wall high up near the ceiling. Keith said that they had no objections
to that at all.

After the warden had left them it was a matter of only minutes before the
door opposite to where they were sitting opened and Jarod entered followed
by a prison guard. Davey let to a gasp of surprise because Jarod had
handcuffs on and was shackled around the ankles as well. He stood up and
went to embrace his old lover but the guard stopped him saying there was no
physical contact.

Jarod sat down facing them and Davey politely introduced him to Johnny who
he referred to has his lifetime partner and then Doctor Jamieson.  Jarod
politely said hello before silence returned. Davey restarted the
conversation by asking about the prison and conditions and making general
small talk.

Finally Davey said what he was there to say, "I came to say sorry Jarod,
while you did break the law because of my age it was all my fault and for
that I am well and truly sorry and I hope you will forgive me. After all, I
ruined you're life and career and it was so stupid of me to seduce you like
I did. We should just have remained good friends."

Jarod was silent for a while before responding, "Dear sweet Davey I have no
regrets about making love to you and would do it all over and suffer the
consequences.  I love you Davey and I always will." After making that
statement he suddenly stood up trying to reach Davey across the table and
all the while crying out, "I LOVE YOU DAVEY AND ALWAYS WILL." ...

Well folks I hope you enjoyed this chapter which this time was mainly with
Davey and Johnny. Let's start at the end of the chapter with the prison
visit and it is obvious that Jarod is obsessed by Davey and he needs help
to get over it.

Do you think Davey was right in visiting Jarod when it might have been
better for him to leave well alone. I can see that his guilt in seducing
him was why he ended up in prison but since then on several occasions Jarod
has demonstrated his love for the young guy.

The bullying at school was caused of course by the punishment the guys
handed out to the hoodlums in the park and it was so funny that they
rescued their own security guard. The hoodlums certainly picked the wrong
people to pick on and their colleagues in school made the mistake but this
time the new security guards handed out the punishment.

Jason our gay police officer is also having problems and I hope that
doesn't get out of hand. Personally I think he should talk to Luke about
the emails and notes he is getting at work.

Having a sexual romp in Davey's home I suspect added to the thrill for the
guys doing what they did under their parents noses, and let's face it boys
will be boys.

Nice ending... Leave us poor readers up in the air.

As you know I have been a champion of Davey owning up to Jarod that it was
his fault for seducing him.  I am hoping that with some physiological help
that Jarod is able to move on and become friends with Davey and Johnny.  I
still would like to see him get hired by Johnathon to assist with the
training of Davey.  Just my take and I know no more than you do our
readers.

I was happy to see that Garrett and Edwin fully understand the risks to
their relationship if the drugs no longer help Edwin.  I think their
response was extremely mature and sensible.

I think Jason should let Luke know about the veiled threats and emails.
Otherwise I fear something terrible will happen.
