"We really should be going."

The power of champaygne and beer seem to had taken
over Alex's and Devon's willpower to move. There the
two lay there in the sand, staring at each other,
laying in the sand, Alex boosted up on his right
elbow, Devon's left elbow pivoted in the sand, angling
his bod so he faced Alex.

"What?" Alex asked him as he stared.

"Neither of us are moving."

"I noticed."

Deciding to make the first move, Devon places his
right hand on Alex's arm, rubbing it from wrist, to
shoulder and back. Alex smiles.

"I'd really like to get to know you better, Alex."

"What about Carlos?"

"As you said about Greg. Carlos is a friend. He knows
we don't have anything permanent going."

Alex's smile seemed to extend an invitation. Keeling
over, Devon leaned over the three inches necessary to
place his lips on Alex's face. Alex didn't fight the
feeling, rather accepting it. No, more then accepting,
he applied pressure, extending his feelings about
Devon's moves.

"Nice," Devon said when he came up for air.

"Likewise," Alex agreed.

"I wouldn't do anything to hurt Greg, but after this
weekend can I invite you to go out, Alex?"

"I'd like that."

Realizing the moon would fade with the rising of the
sun soon enough, Alex got up, extending a hand to
Devon, who sat Indian-style in the sand. As he rose,
he did what Alex had previously done, brushed the sand
off of his drawstring pants, with his free hand.
Retaining his hold on Devon, Alex kept holding hands,
as they made their way back up to the Impresario
Hotel, atop Eden's gay club.

"Funny thing, lying on the beach I felt sleepy, but
now I'm not tired," Alex said.

"We can walk up Asbury Ave. a bit, if you want?"

"I think it would be better if and when Greg woke up,
I was in bed next to him."

"You're right."

Entering the side of the Eden nightclub, the two
beach-walkers made their way to the stairs, then back
to the suite. In the foyer, Devon placed his hand to
the back of Alex's neck, reeling him in for a last
minute kiss.

"G'night, Alex."

"You mean..." he waited til after the kiss, "good
morning?"

"Yeah. Whatever."

Alex smiled all the way back to his room. Then,
standing their in his own room, watched the moonlight
play upon Greg's contented, sleeping face. As he
stripped off his beach pants, he realized sand had
collected inside, as well as outside. Worst place,
right in his asscrack! Going to the private bath, he
adjusted the faucts to rain lukewarm. As he stepped
in, Alex sighed with pleasure. Closing his eyes to
douse his head under the stream, he pictured Devon and
him on the sandy beach, as if an out-of-body
experience, still trapped in Devon's allure, softly
kissing. His hand soaped up his bod, lingering between
his legs.

"Looks like you need some attention."

Standing there at 6'2, Alex bent a little to
accomodate his head, bowing it as if in prayer.

"Yeah," Alex agreed, even though his mind wasn't on
Greg.

"Whatsamatter?"

"Nothing."

In truth, Alex didn't lie. Nothing was wrong. Greg was
only a friend. Friends understand friends.

"You know I really appreciate you bothering to shave
an `S' on your body, just for me."

"I thought it would be fun. Besides, it'll grow back."

Standing there at 5'11, Greg stood in the shadow of
the waterfalling, Alex's bod sheltering him from
getting soaked.

"How did you manage to carve it out so perfect?"

Tracing the curves, Greg ran his index finger around
each edge of the top of the `S', followed by the
bottom half and back again.

"I guess my keen perception. It's like when I'm
envisioning how a pair of briefs should turn out. Most
of the time I just cut it and it works. Don't ask me
how."

"You're a genius, Alex!"

By the time Greg worked up to saying it, his arms
wound around Alex, putting him in a hold, now getting
drenched, too. Alex had to tilt his head, but their
lips met perfectly.

"Whatsamatter?"

"Nothing. Why?"

"Nothing. Prolly just me."

"I didn't sleep good," Alex used as his excuse, which
wasn't lying.

"You should have woken me."

"Nah. You looked so peaceful. I didn't want to disturb
you."

Not sure whether to say anything about meeting Devon
and doing the beach scene, he remained silent for now.

"What are we going to do today?"

"Take in the beach. It's supposed to be hot and
sunny."

"Plus," Greg figured, "if you didn't sleep good, you
can relax."

"That's nice of you, but I thought you wanted to go
hang gliding?"

"I do. So does Carlos."

"Oh?"

"Yeah. Um, Alex... I don't want you to think I'm doing
anything behind your back."

"I'm sure if you did, there was a good reason." Alex
figured this was a good place to instill his feelings.
"Besides, we're just friends."

"Oh, I know that... That's why I wanted to level with
you and tell you Carlos wandered in here last night,
looking for Devon."

Alex shrugged, enough to say `so what'.

"But he sat on your side of the bed."

"Nerve!" Alex more or less joked.

"You don't understand. Alex, I invited Carlos to lie
down."

"Oh horrors!"

Alex slapped the sides of his face with both hands. At
first it made Greg giggle.

"Seriously, Alex, it was wrong."

Again Alex shrugged his shoulders.

"You don't mind?"

"Hey, Greg. Didn't we go through this awhile ago."

"In eighth grade?"

"Yeah. We vowed to be faithful to each other."

"But then later on we changed that vow, right?"

"Right. When we found out about Devon and the others."

"And didn't we also make up our minds we're friends
and if another guy came along... well," Alex figured
this is a good place to bring up things on his mind.

"Whatsamatter, Alex?"

"Nothing. Yeah, well while you were sleeping, I
couldn't."

"Yeah. So?"

"I went for a walk on the beach."

"Nothing wrong with that."

"I met Devon on the beach."

"I know."

"You know?"

"Yeah. The moon was shining kind of bright through the
window, so Carlos went to close the blind."

"And he saw us?"

"Yeah," Greg laughed.

Alex looked petrified, still.

"Cool it, Alex. If it wasn't for you and Devon, Carlos
and I would never have.... well... gotten it on?"

"You? And Carlos?"

"Like you said, Alex, we're friends, right?"

"Yup. I did way it."

All became understood then as they stood there in the
shower, smiling at each other. Then Alex offered the
first kiss.

"Thanks for understanding," Alex offered.

"Same here. So! It's okay for Carlos and I to go hang
gliding?"

"What about me?"

"You can come too."

"Thanks," Alex bent his lips up into a wry smile.

"No problem. Hey!"

"What?"

"I wonder if we will be able to see the `S' from the
beach?"

Alex shrugged his shoulders.

Devon came to stand at the door to the private jon,
Carlos at his side.

"They know," Alex said.

"Yeah, I know. Carlos just told me."

"Then everything is cool, right guys."

Nobody showed ill will.

"So, let's go get some breakfast, Carlos?" Greg asked.

"Yeah. Cool. Then we can go wind surfing."

"Wind surfing? I thought you were going hang gliding?"
Devon questioned, same time Alex brought up the
notion.

"We've got plenty of time for hang gliding," Greg
said.

Out of the shower Greg stepped, collecting Carlos
under his wing, heading out.

Devon breaks the silence with, "Well, where does that
leave us?"

"Well," Alex says, "I don't know about you, but I've
got all this sand stuck in between my ass and...."

"I know. I know. Same thing. Allow me?"

As he steps in the shower, Devon takes the bar of soap
out of Alex's hand. As they caress each other, the
soapy hand slips into Alex's ass-crevice.

"Gritty, huh?" Devon offers.

"Feels okay."

Devon seems to like Alex's comment.

"Just out of curiosity," Devon asks, "are you a top or
bottom?"

"So, all you're looking for is dick, huh?"

"Why would I be looking for a cop?"

Alex laughs.

"Oh, aren't we the comedian?"

"I'm glad to see you're laughing about it. No," Devon
gets seriously, "I'm not interested in how big your
dick is or how deep you can force it in. But before I
get serious with you..."

"Serious?"

"When I transferred to Lake Quinn School District, the
first time I saw you, well... I know this is the
oldest cliche, but I hoped to meet you..."

"But what if I turned out to be not gay?"

"I don't have an answer for you. I'm just glad you
are. I'd cross that bridge when I got to it. How about
you?"

"Well, you are very attractive, Devon."

"Thanks."

"For me, I think the tide started to turn when we
kissed on the beach."

"So, you're okay with me coming on to you?"

Alex laughed.

"What?"

"Just as long as you are okay with a guy that has an
`S' carved out on his chest."

"Well, I don't have as much hair as you, but..."

They quickly rinsed off. They stepped out of the
shower stall. They didn't care if the floor got wet.
Alex picked up the can of shaving cream.

"Are you sure about this, Devon?"

"Like you say, Alex, it'll grow back."

"Here goes."

Spraying a wad of shaving cream into his hand, Alex
smears it from Devon's midchest region, down his
trail, to his navel.

"Ready? Last chance?"

"Hey, do you think I want all the boys looking at
you?"

"Here comes Christmas!"
