Preface: Guy, oh Guy, you are with us. We keep you here. Rest, oh little
one, rest.

---------

The applause was loud; the Phantom of the Opera was well received by the
folks of Hilton. Bob Johnson had played the Phantom; he did a spectacular
job. His wife Alice played Christine; she was equally talented.

The Lamplighters had done it again; they left the crowd spellbound. The
musical had been done in the Hilton High School Gymnasium. Guy had done his
best in the chorus, although he wanted to play the lead. The director felt
Guy was just too young.

Matty came up to his friend, offered his congratulations, and gave him a warm
hug. Guy felt funny being hugged by Matty, but he also felt something else.
He felt an attraction to his buddy. No matter how hard he tried to push the
feelings down, they kept surfacing. Guy had even caught himself fantasizing
about Matty. Guy told himself that it was because he missed his father, who
had died the week before. He knew deep down that wasn't the truth, he had
this allurement for a while.

The days that followed the burial of Melvin Sugardale Sr., Guy's father, had
been a combination of terror and happiness. Miss Lil, the bitch on wheels,
his Mother, caused the terror. The very day after the funeral, Miss Lil went
on a binge. She tried to drink all the bourbon they had at the 'Tavern on
the Green'. 'The Tavern', as known to the patrons, had thrown Miss Lil out
on more than one occasion. Tommy, the barkeep, had called Guy to retrieve
her the night after he had buried his Dad. Guy had to take the pickup, the
'58 Chevrolet, to town and pick his Mother up. Guy had learned to drive when
he was twelve; on a farm, driving was a necessity for a young boy.

Miss Lil was in a drunken furor when Guy arrived at 'The Tavern'; she cussed
and hollered and beat him right in front of the other lowlifes. Miss Lil and
Guy didn't talk for over two weeks after. Guy was fine with that, the less
said to his volatile Mother the better.

Sally Ann had brought all the Sugardale children with her to the show. They
were there to see Guy. Guy was the center of their universe; he offered them
that comfort they all longed for. He was the 'ground' in their dysfunctional
lives; he kept them focused on the good. All the Sugardale siblings
worshipped Guy; they loved him beyond words.

Bobbie Sue and Billy Mack were getting restless. Then little Gregory started
to chide the twins, a little affectionate 'grab ass' the way kids do. Sally
Ann would have none of it. She reprimanded the younger ones; she turned to
Melvin, Jr. and said, "Why don't you help me with these kids? All you do is
walk around with your head buried in the swamp. I can't keep up with y'all,
I need some help."

Melvin, Jr. was somewhere far away; her comment brought him back. "I'm
Sorry, Sally Ann, please don't tell Mommy. I'll help you." He took little
Gregory's hand and said, "Let's go to the school yard and play on the
swings." The two ran out of the gymnasium into the yard.

Sally Ann walked to where Matty and Guy were talking with the twins at her
side. She looked down to the floor and said, "Guy, you were the best, I
could hear your voice all the way up there." She pointed to the top of the
bleachers, to the place they had sat. Miss Lil hadn't come; she was busy
with her spirits.

"Thank you, Sally Ann. Did you really think so? Do I have any talent?" Guy
asked.

"Of course, son, you were the best in the chorus," a familiar voice came to
the children from behind. Guy turned and there were Bob and Alice Johnson,
two of the nicest people in Hilton.

Bob and Alice had long before befriended Guy and Matty. The Johnsons had a
son who died as a baby. Alice chose never to have children again. The loss
of her little Peter was just too much. Instead she poured her love into her
'adopted' boys, Guy and Matty. Matty had lived next door to the Johnsons and
often did chores for them.
Bob had gotten along in years and wasn't the spry chicken he once was. Guy
would bring vegetables to the Johnsons from the farm. Bob had worked for the
state of Mississippi; he had been a surveyor. He retired five years before.
They were a very warm and humorous couple; the love they shared was
unquestionable.

Bob and Alice were both in their sixties. Bob was a portly gentleman. He was
bald as a cue ball. He had a round face, with red cheeks, and two chins. He
had the softest blue eyes and the most infectious smile. His teeth were
bright and shiny. He stood about five foot nine and must have weighed two
hundred pounds. He was a jolly man, and fit the description just as Santa.

Alice on the other hand was a beautiful woman. She had the lightest brown
wavy hair and she kept it cut short. She stood five foot four. She had the
prettiest brown eyes; they actually seemed to light up. Her nose was slight
and turned up. She had thick lips, which were always painted pink. She only
weighed about one hundred and ten pounds.

"Yeah, you were really good, you have a lovely voice," Alice said, as she
hugged Guy.

"He has an enchanting voice, Alice, boys don't have lovely voices," Bob
stated.

"They don't?" Alice asked, looking confused.

"No, girls have lovely voices, boys enchant the girls while they swoon," Bob
continued the banter. The two were so funny at times.

"Really, Bob, well, he's a nice boy anyway," Alice said, and thought that was
the end of the conversation.

"Now, Alice, how many times do I have to tell you, men and boys aren't nice,
they're conscientious," Bob stated with some exasperation in his voice.

"Bob, really, could you write all these rules of yours down, some time? I
can't keep up with y'all," she said as she laughed and looked toward her
husband.

"Don't start, Alice, don't start," Bob trailed off.

"Guy, I better get the kids home, we'll see you later. You make sure you
come home to tuck in little Greg and the twins, now ya' hear," Sally Ann said
as she took the twins out of the gym, never looking up.

"Yes'm," Guy called after her.

"Boys how'd ya' like to go get some ice cream, down to the Dairy Queen?" Bob
asked as he patted Matty on the head.

"Yes, we'll have y'all home by nine," Alice added.

"Thank ya' kindly, I'd like that. How 'bout you, Matty?" Guy turned his
eyes to Matty.

"Y'all don't mind, I'd like to tag along," Matty said, and gave Bob a hug.

The four walked out of the gymnasium, to Bob's pickup truck. The boys
jumped in the back, Bob and Alice got in the cab. The truck engine roared as
Bob drove into town. The sky was just starting to get dark, and off to the
West it was a beautiful pink and orange piece of God's art. The night birds
were out and squawking up a storm in the pecan trees that lined the streets
of Hilton Mississippi.

Matt sat close to Guy in the back of the truck. Matty had felt that he
needed to be close to Guy. He felt attracted to him, he loved him and wanted
to tell him. He made up his mind that no matter what happened that night he
would tell Guy exactly how he felt. He had prayed all that whole Guy
wouldn't turn his back on him. He kept his eyes on his friend the entire
ride.

The pickup turned into the gravel drive at the Sugardale Farm; the sun had
set and the Spanish moss that hung from the trees gave them an ominous look.
It was a pleasant way to end a day. The warmth of the sun still seemed to
radiate from the grounds as the truck pulled up to the house and the boys
jumped out. Good-byes said, the Johnsons departed.

"Guy, do you mind if I sleep with y'all tonight?" Matty looked at his friend
while he asked he wanted to see Guy's reaction.

"No, Matty, I was gonna ask ya' to," Guy said, and wondered why Matty seemed
so apprehensive.

The boys sat on the porch, they climbed into the porch swing and watched the
fireflies and listened to the crickets chirp. Sally Ann came to the front
door of the marred home, she spoke through the screen, "Guy, you gonna kiss
the kids?" she asked through the door.

"Yeah, I'm comin', girl," Guy said as he rose from the swing. He turned to
Matty and said, "I'll be right back."

Guy walked through the living room and mounted the stairs. He went to the
middle bedroom. The home had four bedrooms. The master bedroom was
downstairs off the kitchen. Billy Mack, Melvin, Jr., and Gregory shared the
middle bedroom and Sally Ann and Bobbie Sue shared the room just at the top
of the stairs, and Guy had his own room at the end of the upstairs hall. He
opened the door and kissed each of his little brothers good night. He
stopped in his sister's room before he went downstairs, and kissed the girls.
As he descended the stairs he called back over his shoulder, "Good night,
y'all, pleasant dreams."

He called through the door to Matty as he reached the bottom step, "Matty,
you want something to drink, a Dr. Pepper or something?"

"Na, thanks anyway," Matty called back to him.

He shut off the upstairs hall light as he walked across the living room, and
turned off the porch light, so as not to attract the bugs. He joined Matty
back on the swing, and the two boys sat in silence. The only sounds were of
nature.

It was about a half-hour later when Matty had found the courage to tell Guy
what he had long to tell him. He said, as he turned his head towards Guy,
"Guy, I have something I wanna tell ya.''

"OK, Matty ya' know ya' can tell me anything," Guy said, with his turquoise
eyes fixated on his friend. He reached his left hand over and patted Matty
on the right thigh.

"Well, Guy, like I says I wanted to tell ya' this for a long time, I don't
know how you'll take it, kinda like, I just gotta come right out and tell
ya," Matty said, as he put his right hand over Guy's to hold it there on his
thigh. "I love you, Guy Sugardale, I love you."

"I know, Matty, we're best friends, I love you, too," Guy said and never
moved his left hand away.  He kept his eyes on Matty; he felt the attraction;
he knew he loved Matty more than just a friend did.

"No, Guy, I mean I love you more than just a friend. I really love you,"
Matty said and looked into Guy's eyes for approval and his reaction.

Guy felt the floodgates open in his mind. Was this possible, was Matty
saying the words that Guy hadn't been able to. It was, Matty loved him.
Matty loved him the way he wanted to be loved. He took his right arm, and
moved his left hand, he brought them up, and reached around Matty.

"I love you too, Matty, I always have. I tried to hide it, I felt so
ashamed, I thought you'd hate me. I love you too, Matty," he said, and
pulled Matty close to him. Matty pressed his lips to Guy's and they kissed,
the first time they had ever kissed anyone except their family. It was the
most sensual feeling either boy had ever felt. Guy's loins were burning with
desire; he could feel his five-inch prick pressing against his briefs. Matty
reached his right hand to Guy's crotch, and pushed on his hardness he had
waited so long to feel.

Matty broke from the tender kiss and whispered to Guy, "Lets go to your
room." Both boys rose from the swing and walked hand in hand into the house.
As they crossed the threshold, they paused, turned to each other and kissed
again. Guy ran his hands down Matty's back. Guy felt so excited, his cock
was pressing hard against his jockeys, and the sensations from the fabric
were too much. He squeezed Matty's buttocks and pulled him towards him, he
felt Matty's hard dick rubbing through his pants on his own and ejaculated.
His legs began to wobble; his breathing was coming in moans. Matty rubbed
his member against Guy's and shot his load while they remained locked in
their first sexual embrace.

"Oh, Guy, I've never done this before, I want you to be my first and only,"
Matty whispered to Guy in the darkness of the farmhouse living room.

"I feel the same way, Matty. Let's go to my room. Let's make love to each
other, I want to be with you forever," Guy whispered back and kissed Matty
again.

The boys climbed the stairs together. Guy took his shoes off before they
started down the hall; he didn't want to wake the children. Matty took his
shoes off too. They quietly tippee-toed to Guy's bedroom. Guy slowly opened
his door and the two entered the room.

Guy turned on his night lamp; it was a very dull light that cast soft
shadows. The two turned and faced each other and slowly removed their
clothes while watching each other. Both the boys had smooth, well-developed
bodies. Their cocks were bulging in their white briefs. The tight white
briefs were well defined in the soft light. Their smooth bodies glistened
with a slight sweat, and they watched each other as they slid their underwear
down their legs. Guy had always wanted to see Matty's hard cock, and there
it was a beautiful six-inch dick surrounded with black hair, and a nice set
of balls hung below. The come was still wet, and both their dicks shone from
the orgasm they had downstairs.

Guy dropped to his knees, he smelled his friend's privates. He wanted to
memorize every wrinkle; he wanted to feel that young cock in his mouth. He
reached his right hand up and pulled Matty's prick to his lips. He placed
his mouth on it and began to pump his face into Matty. Matty wanted to feel
Guy, he wanted to lie in bed and feel his body next to him. He reached down
and pulled Guy up, and kissed him. He guided him to the bed. The two lay
down and snuggled up, and just cuddled each other. They gave each other soft
kisses and gently touched each other's bodies.

Matty rolled up on top of Guy, and placed himself so he could rub his dick on
Guy's. He reached down between them with his hand and tickled Guy's balls.
Guy reached his hands around Matty and placed his hands on that soft smooth
ass. Guy pulled Matty's body towards his, and the two humped each other.
Matty put his lips to Guy's and they kissed.

Guy moved so his head would be back down at Matty's cock, he wanted to suck
his friend's dick. He wanted to feel the velvety head shoot into his mouth.
Matty took Guy's stiff five inch dick into his mouth. He loved the feeling
of that hot young cock on his tongue. The two boys sucked each other's
dicks. Their hands roamed between each other's balls and asses. Then Guy
reached up and pinched Matty's nipples.

Matty could feel the building of another orgasm. He tensed his legs his cock
throbbed. Guy could feel his ejaculation building again too; having Matty's
dick swelling in his mouth was too much. Both boys shot their loads
simultaneously into the other's mouths. They both drank the juice with
excitement.

When they had finished, Guy rolled back around to be next to Matty. He
wanted to hold Matty in his arms, and be held. They hugged each other and
drifted off to sleep. Naked and spent, the two young lovers slept a quiet
and restful sleep.
