I Think I've Flipped. Chapter 16.

(Will's POV)

I really hate Monday mornings... I mean who doesn't right? It means you're all
rested from the weekend, and then your forced to go back to school, face
exams, homework, and everything else that goes along with it. It really can be
so annoying sometimes.

Today will be the hardest one yet for me. Why you might be wondering? Well I
will tell you why. It's because of what happened last Saturday...

I mean spilling our secret to Logan and Taylor.

I was not ready for Logan to be so accepting and open to the fact of Tyler and I
dating, but then again, I never would have imagined Taylor's reaction.

I should have seen it coming a mile away. Here I am dating the quarterback of
the football team and a hot sexy British student at the same time. From the
beginning, I knew it wasn't right. However, I went along with Tyler's heartless
and gutless plan to keep his image intact. This is what I have to deal with
before school even starts...

Did I mention how much I hate Mondays?

"Hey Will, you okay?" Blake asked as he was driving me to school on his way
to the farmer's market.

"Yeah...I'm fine. Just a bit tired," I replied as I forced a smile on my face in
reply. Then the radio just started playing The Perisher's "Nothing Like You
And I". Well damn. Hard for me not to get sentimental as Blake just frowned
at me.

He and my other brother, Marco, have this uncanny ability of telling whether I
am lying or not. Guess he knew I was lying again this time.

"You sure you don't want to talk about it?" he asked with a concerned look on
his face.

I smiled at him. It was times like these that I truly appreciate Blake. He knows
when I don't really want to talk about something and he lets it go. If it were
Marco, he'd never stop pestering me about it until I finally caved in. I love
both of my brothers very much, but Blake is the more rationale of the two.

"Yeah, I'm sure," I replied, as I looked out the car window in a desperate
attempt to change the subject.

"Speaking of Marco, remind me why he's not going with you to the market?" I
asked as I faced him wondering why his twin wasn't with him. They are always
together. And when I mean always, I really mean always.

"He was up last night watching something on the desktop. The asswipe kept
waking me up all night with the all the noise he was making."

"Sounds? .... Wait... was he watching porn?!" I asked.

Blake caught Marco! Holy shit, I don't think I could live that one down if it
had been me.

"No... worse.... He was watching an entire season of RuPaul's Drag Race! He
couldn't stop shouting expletives at some contestant," Blake said as he shook
his head before gasping. "Shit. I wasn't supposed to say that!"

"Wait... Marco watches Drag Race?!" I exclaimed in surprise. "And why were
you shaking your head?! Drag Race is awesome and entertaining!" I laughed
at how incredibly unbelievable this morning has turned out to be.

"Be... cause! You know how Marco is... He'd never publicly admit that he likes
that sort of thing and I sorta promised him I'd never tell so you need to keep
quiet about this!" Blake ordered as his anger was beginning to slowly rise.

At that point, I couldn't help myself. I burst out laughing so hard as I was
slapping my hands on my thighs for crying out loud!

"Will! I'm serious! Marco is going to kill me if he finds out that I told you. You
need to promise me you won't tell him!" Blake pleaded as he alternated
between looking at me and the road.

"It just slipped out okay? Promise me Will you won't say anything!" Blake
shouted.

"Okay, okay. I promise!" I replied, still giggling.

Blake was still giving me the evil eye when he turned a corner towards the
school. "Well, here we are," he said as he pulled the car into a stop in front of
the school.

"Thanks. I'll see you later," I said, as I got out of the car and proceeded to the
school when Blake suddenly shouted behind me.

"Will! Don't think about it too much, okay? Remember, Marco and I are
always here if you need someone to talk to," he said with a concerned smile.

I smiled and replied, "I know. Thanks Blake."

As soon as I said that, Blake smiled before driving off. Once he was out of
eyesight, I breathed in a huge sigh before walking towards the main entrance.

A few feet away, I could see the gang clustered together chatting... and waiting
for me I suppose. Claire, Rocky, Sterling, and Taylor were all there. Shit,
Taylor... I wonder if she said anything to the guys. I hope and pray she hadn't.

"Hey guys," I said nervously as I walked up to them.

"Took you long enough Will. Now come on, we're going to be late for class,"
Claire said with a smile before she started walking away.

Rocky gave me a playful punch before following Claire's footsteps. Taylor, on
the other hand, gave me a long unnerving stare down before following the
other two. This left Sterling and I to bring up the rear.

"So Will, how was your weekend?" Sterling asked as he walked beside me.

My weekend? Shit, did Taylor say something to him?

"Uhh... It was fine," I said with a fake smile. Oh Hell, He knows doesn't he? He
fucking knows about Tyler and I!

"That's good.... That's good," Sterling mused. "So... uh... I was wondering if
you'd like to go out with me this Friday after the game?"

"Huh?" I replied as I looked at Sterling. He's asking me out? Wait... So does
this mean he doesn't know?

Sterling gave a small laugh. "I'm asking you if you'd like to go out on a date
with me this Friday?"

"Uh... sure," I said, a little bit too quickly.

"Awesome!" Sterling said before looking ahead and giving the thumbs up.

I looked at whom he was talking to and found that Claire, Rocky, and Taylor
were looking at the two of us with bemused faces... Well.. Claire and Rocky
did. Taylor had a huge scowl on her face before stomping off towards the
school.

"What's her problem?" Rocky asked as we all watched her stomp away.

"I don't know. Maybe she's on her period?" Claire replied, also bewildered.

My heart sank as the seriousness of this lie is finally beginning to sinking in.
I'm toying with Sterling's affections for me... Nice guy Sterling! This isn't
right. No matter how much I like Tyler this needs to stop. I can't-

Well speak of the devil.

As soon as we reached the main stairs, I caught a glimpse of Tyler standing at
the bottom stair. He was talking to Jason when he noticed me. Fuck... This is
too overwhelming. I raced up the main stairs to try and escape him.

Shit... My head and my heart are tearing me apart. My head says I should
continue along with this charade so Tyler's life wouldn't be put in jeopardy.
But my heart, on the other hand, says I need to stop this fake dating with
Sterling before this gets any deeper. Why is this happening? ... This sort of
thing only happens in the movies and in TV shows! I feel like Emily Thorne in
Revenge with her love triangle with Daniel and Jack, but you know, minus all
the revenge.

"Hey ...Will... Are you okay?" Sterling asked me, looking a bit concerned.

I looked up to him and just smiled. I also noticed Claire and Rocky were also
giving me weird looks.

"Yeah, I just need to use the bathroom. Try to clear my head or something," I
said before I walked off. I didn't even give them a chance to say anything more
as I just bolted from there as fast as I could. This is going to be a long day.

-

"Geez... I hope lunch today is bearable today. I don't think I can stomach
another one of those pastas we've been having lately," Claire said as all of us
proceeded to the cafeteria.

Unfortunately for me, the cafeteria was the last place I really wanted to go.
Other than the fact that the food is absolutely horrible, I don't think I can
survive or stomach Taylor's judgmental stares any longer. All morning long,
she's been giving me nasty looks every time Sterling would come up and talk
to me.

I can't handle it anymore.

I'm putting an end to it now.

"Hey Sterling," I whispered to the boy beside me. Claire, Rocky, and Taylor
were all a few feet away from us up front. "Would you mind coming with me to
the library for a moment?" I asked him.

"Uh... Alright. But may I ask why?" he asked me, as he flashed question marks
in his beautiful, green eyes behind his slightly dorky glasses.

"I need to talk to you. It's very important," I whispered again as I looked at
him to signify that I was very serious.

"Uhh, alright," Sterling said before looking at front. "Let's go now before those
three suspect anything," he told me before pushing me towards the way to the
library.

As soon as we arrived at the library, I opened the door and peeked my head
inside to see if there was anyone around. There'd be a lot of nerds in here
during this time of day, but thank heavens there weren't a lot today.

I pushed the library door and carefully walked in towards the other end of the
room. I was trying to distance us from the general population all huddled up
in the middle of the room. Once there, I scanned the nearby bookshelf aisles
checking to see if anyone was nearby.

"Okay, coast is clear," I said as I turned around to face Sterling again. He had
this smug look on his face that was quite unnerving. "What?" I asked, noticing
that he was looking at me weirdly.

"Oh nothing... It's just I'd never thought you'd be the kind of bloke to be into
these things," Sterling sneered.

"Into what?" I asked, cocking my head to the side in utter confusion.

"Well I reckon you brought me here so we can snog or something more,"
Sterling said with a smile.

My eyes widened in surprise. Oh god... He didn't think. "No! No! That's not
why I brought you here!" I said a little hotly as I covered my face in
embarrassment.

"Huh?" Sterling replied.

"Sterling," I said as I looked at him seriously, "I brought you here because I
needed to talk to you."

"Oh come on Will. No need to be modest. We're both guys here. Besides no
one's around us so it's okay," Sterling replied as he stepped closer as he tried
to close the gap between us.

I found myself walking backwards at his aggressive nature. "Sterling ...I need
for you to listen," I said. He wasn't paying attention to me as he kept walking
towards me. He kept this up until I was up against the wall.

When Sterling leaned in to kiss me, I whispered for him to stop. He just kept
on going, as I stood there completely stunned at what was happening. His
right hand slowly made its way up to the buttons of my shirt and was slowly
unbuttoning them. Once his hand made in contact with the flesh of my chest, I
snapped out of the trance he had me in and blurted out, "I can't see you
anymore."

The dude stopped and looked at me for a few seconds. I glared back at him
and when I didn't say anything at all, he backed off, and I began to button my
shirt.

"What did you say?" he asked me, all confused and through gritted teeth.

"I said, I can't see you anymore. I can't go on dates with you. I can't kiss you. I
can't flirt with you. It's done," I spat out. I wasn't supposed to be angry, but he
basically did try to force himself on me.

"Is this because I just tried kissing you? Oh come on Will, don't you think
you're just a tad over reacting? I apologize. You don't have to go to the
extremes with this," Sterling said.

"Yes, I do," I replied, quite annoyed at how casual he's acting "Besides, there's
someone else," I added. That should get him off my back finally.

Sterling gave a small laugh, "Alright, you can stop with the jokes now Will."
But I just stared at him with a very earnest expression. When he realized I
wasn't laughing or smiling, his laughter died down almost instantaneously.
"Bloody hell, you're serious aren't you?" he asked, all of a sudden.

"Yes," I said plainly.

Sterling just continued staring at me before crossing his arms against his
chest. After a few minutes of silence, he asked me, "How long?"

"A while."

"Someone I know?"

"No," I lied.

Silence.

"Were you seeing him while we were seeing each other?"

"Yes."

"So you were double dating him and me?"

"It's not like we were exclusive or anything."

"But you... picked him over me?"

"Yes."

"Is it serious?"

"Yeah. It is," I answered.

Sterling just continued staring at me again, still keeping that same expression
on his face.

"I'm sorry," I said, after more moments of silence. At the end of the day, I lied
to Sterling and I am sorry that I used him to protect my boyfriend's image.

The Brit just stared at me. I couldn't really tell what he was thinking. The
expression on his face was unreadable.

"And this is the reason why you picked the library so I couldn't make a scene
right?" he asked me as he nonchalantly picked up a book from the nearby
bookshelf and scanned through the pages to mock me.

"I'm sorry," I said, as I hung my head down in embarrassment.

Sterling sighed. I heard him put the book back on the shelf before walking up
to me again. "Will, it's okay," he said, "I mean just give me time to sort all of
my feelings out, but I promise to back off."

I looked at him with surprise. "You're not mad?"

"More of disappointed, but hey, that's the price you pay in the game of love.
But trust me, I'll be fine," Sterling said with a smile.

I just smiled back at him and nodded.

"Now let's go back to lunch. I bet the others are wondering where we are,"
Sterling said with a chuckle.

I gave a small laugh and followed him out of the library.

"Oh, and Will?" he asked me while we were walking.

"Yes?"

"Sorry about what happened back there. I mean about me trying to force
myself upon you... I'm a twat," Sterling said in embarrassment.

"No... you're not," I said before patting him on the back to make sure that
there were no hard feelings. "Not a twat, but probably an asshole," I said with
a small smile.

Sterling just looked at me before displaying a shy smile. "Okay, that's good."
Sterling said with a smile before stepping out into the hallway.

Sigh.. Okay, now that that's done. There's only one guy I need to talk about
this.

(Tyler's POV)

After our diner confrontation last Saturday, everything else seemed to die
down. Okay, if you want me to be more specific, after Taylor stormed out of
the diner, everything was pretty much laid back.

Logan, to my surprise was incredibly supportive about Will and me. I was so
glad to have that dumb, lovable redhead as a friend... Although, he did ask us
a lot of strange questions afterwards... Good lord, I could still remember
them:

"So when did you know you liked dick?"

"How does it feel to kiss a guy?"

"Did you ever find me attractive Tye?"

"So, does Will kiss better than Dana?"

"Who's the top?"

"Wait- have you two actually had sex yet??"

"But you have seen him naked right?"

"Does he give better head?"

"Does he swallow? I heard they like that."

"What do you mean I'm crossing the line? I'm just asking the basic stuff."

I gave a small chuckle. Okay, even if Logan can be a bit annoying some times,
I'm really glad that he's a friend of mine. I don't have to worry about him
telling anyone... especially Jason.

Shit. I really don't know how to break this thing to Jason. I really have no
fucking clue on how to go about this.

I mean, first of all, I don't know if he'd be actually okay with the idea that his
best friend is into guys and has been secretly dating his neighbor for over a
month. I mean I already feel like shit for keeping this from him, but... I don't
know... I've got a feeling that this is going to end badly...

And the song currently playing on my iPod is definitely not helping in the
matter.

I glanced down at my iPod and stared at the screen. Marina and the
Diamonds' song, "Lies" started playing a few seconds ago. Oh god, the irony of
it all!

I let the song play out as I rounded the corner towards the entrance of the
school.

"Yo man, what's up?" Jason said with a smile as I approached the school steps
for school.

Oh look. Here he is. Great.

"Nothing much," I replied as I took my earphones out of my ears and stuffed it
in my pockets.

"Well, I've got some news for you man!" Jason said excitedly, causing me to
focus my attention back at him.

"Oh? What is it?" I chuckled.

Before Jason could respond, I saw Taylor running up the stairs a few feet from
us. My eyes followed her retreating figure completely ignoring Jason in the
process. Okay, she looked angry... And that isn't a good thing. Who knows just
how much of a crazy bitch she really is.

As soon as my gaze returned down to the bottom of the staircase, I saw Will
and his friends approaching. Will looked... how do I say this, uncomfortable. I
mean, he was smiling, but his eyes definitely betrayed him. Something isn't
right. When he locked eyes with me, he quickly looked away and went up the
stairs along with his friends.

Okay, something is definitely not right. I need to-

"So, what do you think?" Jason asked me.

"Huh?" I replied, my mind suddenly focusing back to Jason.

"Where you even listening the entire time?" Jason asked me, a bit flustered.

"I'm sorry, I spaced out," I said, as I scratched my head in defeat.

"I swear to God Tye, you're getting weirder and weirder everyday," Jason said,
as he gave me an annoyed look. "Anyway, I was wondering if you'd li-"

"Uh, hold that thought. Sorry, I forgot that I needed to do something. Tell me
later, okay?" I said, as I raced up the stairs not waiting for Jason's reply.

Actually, I did catch Jason's reply. Halfway up the stairs, I heard him mutter,
"Oh sure... run off in the middle of our conversation. No big deal!" I could
literally feel the sarcasm spilling out of his mouth when he said that, but I
didn't care at that moment.

What's important is finding Will and see if everything is okay.

I raced through the halls, ignoring all the various greetings from people
passing my way. God, I hope they don't think I'm a jerk for doing so.

I turned a familiar corner to Will's locker, but then I stopped. Huh. That's
weird... Will isn't at his locker. Okay, wonder where the hell could be. He
always goes to his locker the first thing in the morning. Fuck, I really hope he's
all right.

-

"Hit the showers guys!" The coach hollered at us inside the locker room. "And
Beaumont, will you get your head in the game? What the hell has gotten into
you today?"

"Sorry coach," I apologized, not really wanting to explain why I played really
badly in today's practice. The coach just snorted before heading out to his
office.

Of course the real reason was that during practice, Will was all on my mind. I
mean, I didn't get to see him the entire day and I got worried! I didn't catch
him at his locker this morning, and then at lunch, he wasn't at his usual table
either! I tried texting him, but he didn't reply to any of my messages. How the
hell was I suppose to focus on practice with all of these going on?

I shook my head as I approached my locker to get some things for the showers
when Jason suddenly popped up on my right.

"So, Tye, you free tonight?" Jason asked suddenly.

"What?" I snapped, looking at him while doing so.

"Tonight! This is what I've been trying to ask you since this morning before
you weirded out on me," Jason said with a frown.

"Uh... No not really free tonight, why you asking again?" I asked back as I got
some toiletries from my locker.

"Well I've got a date with a girl from another school and she's got a hot friend.
Thought we could double date or something," Jason said, while giving me a sly
smile.

From the corner of my eye, I could see Logan stare at me waiting for me to
answer. After all, he's one of the few people who knows I'm seeing Will.

I looked back at Jason who still had that stupid grin on his face.

"I can't," I answered Jason plainly before facing back to my locker.

Jason gave me a frown and replied, "What? Why not? Come on man. You're
not seeing someone anyways, this will be good for you."

"I said no Jason," I said, getting quite annoyed at how pushy he was
becoming.

"Look," Jason whispered as he approached me so we were in close proximity
to each other, "if you're not ready to have a relationship, just think of this as a
rebound or something. We could get laid. What do you say Tye? Do this for
your best bud."

I stopped and stared at Jason. Is he actually asking me this? There is no
fucking way I am going to go on a double date with him just so he can get
some pussy tonight. No fucking way.

I could still see Logan staring at us, waiting for me to respond.

"Jason," I said as I turned my attention back to my best friend. "I really can't.
I've got a big Art Studies project I still need to finish tonight." Okay, I lied on
that one. "Besides I don't want to really get laid right now, okay?"

Jason's big smile quickly turned upside down and said, "Oh come on Tye.
Ditch your dumb project! Come on!"

I slammed my locker door causing a few of my teammates to stare at us. I
didn't really care at that moment.

"I said no Jason! Give it a rest already!" I said through gritted teeth as my fists
began shaking in anger.

Jason just looked at me in surprise before replying, "You know what? Forget
it." He gave me one last look before heading to his locker.

I watched him walk away... Sigh.... Great... Now he's mad.

I violently opened again my locker to chuck a few more items inside when I
heard someone cough behind me.

"What the fuck do you want?" I scowled as I turned around to face whomever
it was who coughed. Clearly, he has not realized that I am not in a good mood
as I just fought with my best friend a few seconds ago.

To my surprise, it was Logan.

"Hi," he said sheepishly as he held out both his hands up in the air as peace.
"You okay?"

I sighed. Ever since Will came into the picture, Jason and I don't seem to be
getting along. I mean, we normally have small arguments every now and then,
but never this often. And I'm not so sure why it's becoming more and more
frequent. Ahh, this is giving me a headache.

"I'm fine Logan," I said as I massaged my aching forehead.

"Jace seems really pissed," Logan murmured.

"I know. I mean, I know he's just trying to help and all, but you know...this
whole thing with Will is very complicated," I said.

"Why not just tell Jason then?" Logan asked innocently.

I gave Logan the biggest WTF stare I have given in my entire life. Is he
seriously asking me this question?

"I mean I didn't have any problem with it. I'm sure Jason won't either. He is
your best friend after all Tye. You've gotta give him more credit," Logan said
sympathetically.

God, I hate it when Logan suddenly has his moments of clarity.

"I just can't... right now. It's not the right time," I whispered softly. I mean,
how the fuck are you supposed to tell your best friend that you like boys now?
That's something you just can't casually drop. You're going to need time to
plan this whole thing out.

Logan looked at me like he wanted to say something, but decided against it. I
was thankful for that as I didn't want to talk about Jason anymore at this
moment. Instead, Logan just smiled and nodded before walking back to his
locker.

Sigh. I'm really hoping that Jason would be this open when I decide to tell
him.

-

After showering, I walked towards my truck. I was not only physically
exhausted from this afternoon's brutal practice but I was also emotionally
exhausted from my confrontation with Jason in the locker room. All I really
want to do now is go home and sleep.

When I got near my truck, I saw someone sitting on the sidewalk beside it.
Weird considering it was probably past 6pm already. From this distance, I
couldn't really tell who it was since it was dark.

Walking a little further, I could see a familiar mop of brown hair and I
immediately hastened my pace.

"Will! What are you doing here?" I asked my boyfriend as I approached him,
looking around if there were still any of my teammates lingering around.

Okay... good. There's absolutely no one around.

He stood up and was about to reply when I engulfed him in a big hug.

"What the hell happened to you? This is the first time I have seen you since
this morning! I was worried about you," I said after pulling back from the hug
to stare at him.

Will lowered his gaze and murmured, "I'm sorry. It's just... a lot of things
happened today... That I need to talk to you about."

"Hey baby, what's wrong?" I asked him. Okay, this is starting to really freak
me out. Did something bad happen to him? Did Scott and his posse do
anything today? Shit, a hundred scenarios zoomed through my mind at that
particular moment.

Will looked up at me, stared deep into my eyes and said, "I... I broke it off with
Sterling. I told him I couldn't see him anymore... I'm sorry."

I stared at Will. Did he just say what I thought he said? I slowly backed away
from him while a million thoughts raced through my mind.

Is he fucking kidding? Tell me this is just a joke. Shit. This is going to blow my
cover. I started pacing around as I ran my fingers through my hair.

"Tye, say something," Will pleaded.

I stopped pacing around and pointed at him in anger, "What the fuck, Will?
We had an agreement!"

"I know," he answered meekly.

"Will, that was the only thing I asked for you to do and you blew it!" I shouted
at him.

"I know! And I'm sorry okay? But I couldn't continue dating Sterling anymore.
It wasn't right to begin with and it wasn't easy!" Will shouted back.

"Easy? What the fuck are you talking about?!! You think I have it easy?! You
think it's easy to know that I have feelings for a guy?! Do you know how hard
it is for me to not pretend we have something going on in school? Do you
know how hard it is for me to not let anybody know that I like you in the
slightest bit? Jesus Christ Will, one small peck or hug and my life would be
ruined! Everyone is watching Will! Remember that photo after detention?
How easy it was for someone to take one fucking photo of us together? Do
you?" I screamed at him, my rage already beyond its boiling point.

I've been holding all of this in for so long. Then for Will to disobey the one
single rule we both agreed on was just too much for me. How could he do that
to me?

Will just stood there looking on the verge of tears.

"So does Sterling know about us?" I asked him, angrily.

"No, he doesn't know. All I said was that I couldn't see him anymore," Will
replied.

"Oh really?" I sneered at him. "And what reason did you give him?" I spat out.

"I just said there was someone else."

Oh my god. This kid will be the death of me. I growled in frustration.

"I didn't mention your name Tye. There's no reason for you to freak out," Will
said

"Yeah? Well the fact that you said there was someone else, you might as well
have! This is just great now he's going to keep a closer eye on you and see who
you are dating!" I said in frustration.

"That's not fair," Will replied.

I sighed heavily. "Oh my god Will. I still can't believe you betrayed me like
this. It wasn't supposed to be complicated. All you had to do was see Sterling
on the side. This was the only thing I asked you to do." I replied, as I snapped
at him

"Oh really? What about the dates in another town, or that you needed to pick
me up on the other side of town, and what about the fact that we only talk in
the dead of night? I have made a lot of sacrifices for you Tyler and I followed
your somehow unreasonable requests because I liked you, but this was one
request I cannot follow. It wasn't right from the beginning. I cannot play with
someone's feelings so easily," Will reasoned.

I can't believe he just threw all of that back at my face. He knew beforehand
what it meant to be in this relationship with me. He could have said no at the
very start. Goddammit. I can't deal with this stress anymore.

"So I'm unreasonable huh?" I snarled as I walked past Will towards my truck.

"Tye, please. Let's talk this out," Will said.

I ignored him completely as I got inside my truck. "Well you know what? I
cannot be in a relationship with someone who betrayed me like that!" I spat
out before turning on the engine and driving off, leaving Will all alone in the
dark parking lot.
