(Gavin DeGraw: I don't want to be) ".... Part of where im going is
knowing where im coming from, I don't want to be anything other than
what ive been trying to be lately, all I have to do is think of me and a
piece of mind, im tired of looking around whos wondering what I got to do
or who im suppose to be, I don't want to be anything other than me.!"

I had that blasting in my car cd player on my way to school, it was a
perfect song on what ive been contemplating with since the beginning of
high school till now, the fakes, the jocks, the cool kids, the nerds, not
knowing who you are, having to please your parents to have their
acceptance of you. Let me introduce myself first before I go any farther,
my names Landon Williams, im a senior now at Oasis high school, im what
you would call well known, I don't try to be but the sports I partake in
cause me to be known, im one of the starting 5 on our schools basketball
team, I play the point guard for my team, my 6' height only allows me to
play that position so im happy with it, I guess you can say im well
built, with playing basketball all my high school years ive gotten into
peak form. Anyways back to my story, I have been contemplating on whether
to tell my 3 best buds in the whole world that im gay, yup im gay(there
wouldn't be a story now would there if he wasn't right?..lol) I mean in
my 4 years in high school I have never dated, not even the girls
constantly asking me out, I wasn't into that for a while I wanted to
establish myself so I can get into a good college to better help with my
situation at home, you see im not one of those kids that gets handed
everything to him, I had to support me and my mom since she divorced my
step father, long story different time. I got a job when I was 14 bagging
groceries and I work there now, the car I own I got this year, from 4
years of saving up, its just a thing to get around in so im happy, and
this year is my most crucial year because if I don't get into a college
with my academic or with my sports then, all I have worked for was for
nothing and it will seem that I have failed my mom putting more burden on
her with helping to pay with school and I didn't want that to happen.

            I arrived in the school parking lot and still contemplating
on whether to tell my friends, I mean ive known them since I was a
freshmen and I don't want that to be ruined but I don't want to have to
hide anymore with them, I mean I wont go out and start yelling out "hey
im gay!" but I don't want to hide any more either, so I guess im going
to start this school year off with a bang!

*knock*
*knock*

I heard tapping on my car window, I guess I didn't notice this with all
my thinking and when I looked up I saw Shannon, she was one of my friends
I  was talking to you about and I would say my closest out of all of
them, she was the person I turned to with anything. Seeing her made me
smile, she always has and always will, she's a very beautiful person
nice looking and very smart, but she has the most beautiful personality,
and that's what I loved about her.  I got out of my car with a bug hug.

-oh my god! Lan sooooo good to see you! how was your summer?!.. she still
had that vice grip hug on me.
-cant breath!! Let go! and she did too *sigh* hi to you too! With a bit
of a giggle, man its been tooooo long Shan how was your summer?
- it was good, but let me tell you on our way to home room 2nd bells
about to ring.
You see me and Shannon have had the same home room ever since 9th grade,
and that's how our beautiful friendship happened. As we walked and she
talked, ive gotten some "sup" and some "hey" from everyone I returned
it back but I never really knew any of them not like the way I know my
three friends.
-sooo how was your summer?
-huh? Oh it was good, worked, worked, and went to basket ball camp,
that's about it.
And with that we went into our room and sat down.
-hey Shan, gather up Gabe and Kraig at lunch okay, I gotta talk to you
guys about something.
- yeah sure no problem, what's up Lan what's it about?
-don't worry about it your gonna find out soon.
With that we got handed our classes, me and Shan have 1 class together
that's a bummer but I hope I got other classes with my 2 other amigos.
Homeroom was a bore as always, I didn't talk to Shan since I told her to
gather up the gang. The bell rang and I left to head to my 1st class.
Science.

Science was a drag, I didn't know anyone which I liked and I didn't
mind, I headed to my second period in a rush so I can get it over with ,
I guess I didn't see where I was going and ran into someone.
-oh my bad bro, I didn't see where I was going. I saw that he dropped a
couple of books so I picked it up and handed it to him, but when I did I
came upon the most striking blue eyes I have ever seen, I gave him a go
over as well and he was very cute, he had that Elijah Wood look going and
I thought that was cute.
-here you go man, sorry again
-oh no problem, partially my fault as well
The second warning bell rang, and I couldn't talk to the blue eyed
stranger so I excused myself
-sorry again got to go, later bro. with that I ran to my 2nd class.

GOD! My classes SUCK!, 2nd period was worse than the 1st, thank god it
was lunch.*sigh*, I guess I got to go with the plan now, as I got my food
and paid for it I spotted my 3 friends, Shan, Gabe who was a very good
looking guy with light brown hair and a cute smile, and theirs my home
boy Kraig he was a white boy that got skills on the blacktop , me and him
became friends on the court, we butted heads but it was all good fun, me
and him have him been good Friends ever since.
-sup fools! I spat out
-what's happening white boy! Both men shouted, and I looked over to Shan
shaking her head.
-nothing here, how have your guys summer been? I asked
- fine, been running 13's now, Gabe said, I forgot to tell you that Gabe
ran track, and his goal for the summer was to run 13 miles
-dude no way! I shouted
-yeah he said with a gleam of pride
-I practiced my balling skills that's about it, you know how I do it
man! Kraig said
He was the starting power forward for our team
-that's good to hear guys* sigh* I got to tell you all something, as I
looked at Shan, Gabe, and Kraig.
I guess its not worth waiting on huh? I thought to myself
-guys. Hearing this all 3 of them turned to me.
-whats up bro? both Kraig and Gabe said in unison
-yeah whats been on your mind Lan? Shan asked with concern in her voice,
now im really regretting on telling them but I guess there's no time
better than now to tell them
-*sigh*... im gay guys....
