Disclaimer: This story is fictional.  Some of the things that happened or
will happen with Mikael and Nick are bits and pieces of my life.  Parts of
the character are fictional as well. All other characters were made up and
any similarities are just coincidental.  This is gay romance between

"It Has Always Been You" - Chapter 14 - Caught In The Middle

Lately, Mikael had felt uneasy, restless and confused. His mind was giving
him a headache for thinking so much. The argument, or confrontation, he had
with Drake had fuelled the fire in his mind. His emotions were conflicted
in regards to his feelings of affection towards his two boys, Nick and
Drake.

Things had been different when Nick was not his center of affection after
Drake's arrival into his life. He thought it would be easy, but he was
wrong , because now he felt like he was caught in the middle. Even though
he had someone new, Drake, most of the time, all he could ever think of
being Nick, and he was really, definitely, caught in the middle. What was
he thinking?

When he decided to move on with Drake, his days were really brighter. As
Drake had shown him lots of love and compassion with his kisses, his hugs
and when he made love to him to elevate him to a higher level of
relationship. But, the thoughts of Nick have been always on his mind. All
the memories he had with Nick, whether in good times or bad, could not be
erased from his mind. It seemed like they were here to stay with him
permanently.

Nick really meant everything to Mikael and definitely will be written in
the pages of his life history. But as far as he can see, he and Nick were
over. He wanted to fully commit his attention and affection to Drake. He
won't ever believe that Drake was a rebound guy for him after the incident
with Nick. He did fall in love with him and it was vice versa. But
suddenly, Nick would come into his mind.

The sad thing was, when he and Drake was having their moments while having
sex, there were times he felt he wanted it to be Nick instead of Drake. It
felt wonderful, yet the guilt feeling was there when it was over. Drake did
see him grinning and glowing, but what he did not know was that he was
thinking of Nick. Not all, but most of the time.

What he had done? Nick was all over him even when he was actually not
physically there. He loved Nick and yet he does love Drake too, or did he?

Nick, on his end, was not doing much better at all. On one hand, he had
Amy, who he loves dearly. Yet, on the other hand, he had Mikael. It was
confusing for him. He was not supposed to think this way as he was Mikael's
mate. At the time, he did not know of Mikael's sexuality or feelings for
him. All were really saying when Mikael confessed to being gay and his love
for Nick. Ever since that day, he had conflicting feelings toward Mikael.

He thought he did what needed to be done... pushing Mikael away, showing
him his anger, breaking up their friendship. But in the end they're back
together again. He tried to block every possible rising romantic feeling
for Mikael. Did he succeed? He thought so, but really?  He thought back to
the day he had spent with Amy. He did not enjoy a single moment of it as he
was more lingering on Mikael than being a perfect boyfriend to Amy. He knew
it was not fair to Amy. It was really difficult being in love at his young
age with lots of temptation and needs to be fulfilled. He needed Amy to
keep him sane, but he also needed Mikael... but for what... friendship or
to be romantically involved?

His guilt in regards to Amy was heavy. He knew he needed to apologize to
her. But what reasons would he give her? Definitely not about anything to
do with Mikael! It was always personal to him and she would never know
about that.

To make the situation worse, he called Mikael when he reached home that
night. The conversation was nothing sexual, but more of a general
conversation, asking about each other's day and events. It was sad to know
that Mikael was emotionally affected in regard to what Drake had said to
him. He was over-thinking the situation again and again. He felt happy that
Mikael was willing to pour out his emotions to him. He had tried to be his
best mate again like always.

Both Nick and Mikael had the same situation happening in their lives and
both were involved in it. And then there was Sandra, who somehow managed to
slip herself into the equation.

Both of them were really confused in regard to Sandra. Normally, when a
girl found out about her boyfriend being gay, she would be running a mile
away from him. But this was not so for Sandra. In her mind, Mikael has been
just a confused boy who was undergoing a phase. She thought that somehow or
sometime Mikael would realize that she was the best one of them all for
him.

The actual reasons she hung onto Mikael was that he was her first romance
and he was the first to have her sexually. In other words he fucked her
first. After that, she wanted him more than ever. Will she ever have him,
no one knew, not even her.

Amy was the worst of them all. Being rejected by Nick was a milestone of
bad emotion enveloping her. She was in a state of confusion. Was she a bad
girlfriend who thought, her every wish and demand should be fulfilled? She
realized she had acted like a bitch in heat, or worse, a whore forcing Nick
to have sex with her without ever asking him if he wanted to. The way she
acted, disgusted her and she wished she had done differently. She did love
Nick a lot, but forcing him was, understandably, not a good way to make a
relationship last. She would apologize to Nick when she saw him and will
mend her ways on being a good girlfriend.

Mikael, Nick, Drake, Amy and Sandra, getting caught in the middle with each
other hopefully can be resolved soon.
