"It Has Always Been You" Chapter 27 - Father And Son Talk

It was late in the afternoon, around four, when Mikael sees Nick left his
house. It was an interesting yet emotionally stressful day. They had
argued, laughed and make out at the same time. But in the end, Mikael was
still unsure where was all of this leads to in regard to their
relationship.

In one thought it looks great as they had a long, fruitful talked as where
it should be and yet in the other thought, it was not happening at all in
spite of all the promises Nick had made to him. Nothing had progressed as
he wanted it to be, when Amy was still in the picture.

He felt so bad to do what he had done to Amy. After all, she is one of his
good friends. But in his mind, he assumed, that sometime to get what you
want in life, you had to be selfish and persistence. He still wasn't sure
why was he so indulged and obsessed with Nick ever since he saw him in the
school office for that very first time. Nick was so captivating in Mikael
eyes. He was never ever attracted to anyone this much as he is to Nick. He
had tried to stay low in the closet and not to flaunt his attraction to
boys or men out front. But the day he saw Nick he seems to forget what he
had planned for all this time.

The emotions, the desire, the longing, the touch, the hugs and the kiss
that they had shared with each other only elevated his feelings towards
Nick. And the very first time they have sex, it had sealed every emotion he
had with Nick even though the first time sex was more of a need to do it on
Nick part. He was just there accepting it with an open arm.

His bravado in having sex was learned when he was with Drake, whom had
shown him how wonderful a boy to boy sex can be. He was the receiver with
Drake and Nick was the giver. Both of them are equally strong, desirable
and well equip in the manhood region and it makes him feel satisfied. Drake
was more passionate and romantic differ from with Nick for the first
time. But subsequently he and Nick had managed to set their passion ablaze
and had turned their sex thing to love making. He had more sex with Nick in
a shorter time than he was with Drake. As Nick had been coming back to him
for more than time permitted for both on them. Mikael wonders if Nick was
as much enthusiasm when he was with Amy? Does he ever make love to Amy
anymore? So does it make him a veteran in love making.... duh!

"Mikael... get your ass down here now. Supper is ready." Mikael snapped
from his thought when he heard his father calling him from the dining
table. He set himself straight and walked out to have supper with his
father.

The dining table top was already set with eating utensils and in the middle
of it, there was a large bowl of pasta with meatballs sprinkle with grated
cheese as what he likes. His father was a good cook and ever since his
mother passed away, his father became his world and was always there for
him.

When he outed himself to his dad, he was afraid of his dad's reaction, but
his dad only said, "No matter who you are, who you go to love, who you go
to be with for the rest of your life, I will always be here to love you and
care for you. You are still and always be my son first." Word of wisdom
spoken by a great wise man.

They had a great meal together as always, talking and asking questions
about their daily life and current events happening around the
world. Mikael and his father always had that close bonding and they are not
shy of saying anything to each other.

They both had cleared the dishes from the dining table and putting it in
the dish washed to be cleaned. Now sitting on a sofa together sipping a cup
of coffee while watching the television. At first Mikael did not realize
that his father was staring at him, sipping his hot coffee slowly. Mikael
starts to feel uneasy with the surrounding atmosphere.... he turned away
from the television and realized his father was watching him "What are
doing father?" Mikael asked nervously.

"Is everything alright between you and Nick?" still looking at his son
intensely.

"Ye... yeah.... why are you asking father?" Mikael sounded unsure and his
father was quick to pick up on it.

Mr. Hayden changes his sitting position and went to sit beside Mikael. He
grabbed hold of the Mikael shoulder with both of his hands and make Mikael
turn and face him.

"I have heard everything that was said between you and Nick at the
doorway... and it does not look that good." Mr. Hayden stressed on the word
good. "Are you forcing Nick to love you Mikael? And I thought that he
already has a girlfriend... Amy right" Mikael was looking at his fidgeting
fingers. He was afraid to face his father at that moment.

"I never ever tried to say anything about your sexuality, about who you
want to be with, who you want to love... I even support you during your
time with Drake... but what you are doing right now with Nick is not right
Mikael." Mr. Hayden was a bit agitated with Mikael. "I am not sure which is
which... are you taking advantage of his insecurity or he is taking
advantage of yours."

"But he says that he loves me father." Mikael tried reasoning with his
father. He knew that he would not get away from the conversation by just
shutting down at his father.

"And you are putting so much hope on it... until you are so blinded with
what it is doing to you." Mr. Hayden sighed deeply. He was so concerned
about Mikael self being as he does not want Mikael to get hurt again for
loving Nick. He had seen how hurt Mikael was, when Mikael broke up with
Drake.

"I know what I am doing father. I cannot simply let go of the feelings I
had for him. I had to be selfish for it to happen. He is not happy with
Amy." Mikael resorted. His eyes began to water with tears. He tried to hold
it back from falling as he does not want his father to think he was a
weakling.

"I love him, father, really loved him so much, and every time when he told
me he loved me too, my hope of having him for myself risen and as of now I
can only hope that he do what he needed to do." Mikael was crying hard in
his father's shoulders who was holding him tight and not wanting to let him
go.

Mr. Hayden knew how hard it can be for a gay guy to love and be loved in
this world where homophobic people still existed. He tried to understand
what his son was going through and yet, he still was not in favor to know
that Mikael was forcing Nick, in order to gain Nick love and affection. It
was not right at all in his perspective for a long lasting relationship.

He took a deep breath, looking at Mikael face and said, "Mikael, love had
to be earned and not supposed to be forced into. It will not be good for
the both of you in a long run. How sincere was Nick in loving you and in
the first place, was not he supposes to be a straight guy?"

Mikael could not answer his father as he was choked with emotions. They
lumped on his throat had somehow blocked his vocal chord from producing any
sound. He just nodded his head and sniffled. Mikael was too overwhelmed by
his emotions that he had moved to grab hold of his father in a tight hug.

"Look here, son," he pushed Mikael away from his body so he could see him
in the eyes. "You are my only son and I love you so much. I would not ever
want to see you get hurt. I will always be here for you Mikael. I will
never desert you. You had a strong head on your shoulder. Used it to your
advantage." He pulled Mikael back to his shoulder and hold his only son
ever so tightly.

"I love you father." Mikael whispered into his father ears.

"And I love you too son." Mr. Hayden concurred.
