"It Has Always Been You" - Chapter 33 - Hot Air Rises

Amy was not thrilled and yet emotionally overwhelmed with shock and grief,
when she got told by Nick's father that he was not at home that Friday
night. Nick did not have to tell her of his where about as she in some way
could make an exact conclusion to where Nick would actually be. As far as
one knows or can tell definitely that Nick would be spending his time with
Mikael. It was not like before where Nick would be looking forward to
spending his time with her. Smoldering her love, lust and passion.

During school earlier that day, she had tried effortlessly to find Nick
around the school ground, but she was not as successful, though Nick had
made himself to the like of the magician Houdini and disappeared into thin
air. Her endless call made to him through his hand phone, was either
ignored or it went to his voice mail, where eventually was deliberately
switched off.

Amy felt, unmanly of Nick to just ignore her and deserted her for
Mikael. She was pretty sure that Nick was with Mikael and she felt jealous
of how Nick and Mikael had grown closer with time. For whatever reason Nick
had given her, she would always have that sense of doubt of its sincerity.

She had suspected that, this was going to happen, as all the secrets that
she might have already known, that it seems she was not loved by Nick
anymore. What was it for that Nick made her to feel like this, after
everything that she had done. Her tears flowed on her delicate cheeks as
she brings back the memories in her mind of everything that had happened
between her and Nick and all her sacrificed was only for Nick.


As of the time, she had developed that feeling of anger and disgust towards
Mikael. She was with certainty known of what Mikael was trying to do with
Nick. She had guessed from the day that Mikael sexuality was being exposed,
Mikael had tried very hard to have Nick to love him back. Only the truth
will prevail in due cause, but for now she would not want to question
Mikael, for it will, without doubt, would make Nick feel angry with her.

For a few strong moments, without doubt, she was ecstatically happy when
she found out that Mikael was dating Drake. She was pretty obvious in
showing Mikael her support and happiness for the both of them. For once,
she had believed that she could have Nick for herself without Mikael
lurking behind or standing close by Nick all the time. That was the best
time she had with Nick and the sex between them was full of passion and
lust. She freakishly loves it so much. Nick was sure did make her feel like
a woman.

But all of it had in a way that was likely to have a strong or far-reaching
effect of changed, when Mikael broke up with Drake and with Nick being
there in person to witness it when it all happened. Nick had from personal
observation of all the sadness and the anger of Mikael because of Drake, he
got to do the consoling of Mikael that time over the break up and
brokenhearted as much as Mikael needed. Nick was all there for Mikael to
lean on for comfort and pity as much as possible in Nick tender loving
care.


She had seen the changes in Nick behavior towards Mikael lately and they
seemed to get closer than ever before. It was true that Nick and Mikael had
their moment of conflicts and confrontation before, but lately all things
had changed with them seems to be alright and fine with each other. She had
also noticed that Nick had spent more time sleeping over at Mikael house
and he was more happy and chirpy than when he was with her. What is really
fucking going on here?

Basically, some of the blame in a way that is not in a direct way, putting
on herself too. The last time, when Nick had suggested for them to do a
group study for the exam together, she had declined him and went with
Sandra and her other girlfriends for the group study, leaving Nick alone
with Mikael. That opportunity was not ignored by Nick and he took that
moment being alone with Mikael in trying to rekindle the friendship and
more with their feeling for each other.


Since her time, then she spends with Nick, had dwindled to an occasional
meet up once or twice a week, not even when they were in school. Nick was
kind of avoiding her in every possible way, like the school hallway, he can
be seen diverting his route and walked the other way or ignoring her at the
cafeteria by not sitting beside her, but Nick was sitting beside
Mikael. She only got the once a while glance and short conversation, where
else Nick and Mikael will be laughing and bantering with each other.


The rest of the day Nick would be spending his time with Mikael. Even then
Nick and she was not so romantically inclined, physically, as much as she
had wanted liking at the beginning of their courtship. It was more of pecks
of kisses, went out for a non romantic dinner and watching movies without
any intimacy. Nick always gave that expression of being force when he was
out with her. Was his mind was ever in its place when he was with her, as
he looked kind of, off moping away all the time.


It felt as though she was going out more with a friend than a
boyfriend. What frustrated her the most, while they were out together, Nick
was looking and texting on his hand phone most of the time and when she did
ask with whom he was texting too, he just told her it was just a friend and
yet she knew who was that friend is. She did not have to be a genius to
make the correct guess. She always wondered what was he texting, as he
would be seen occasionally smiling, sometimes even giggling as though the
wording of the text was tickling him.

Amy was not ever going to take it off. No, she was not going to take it
anymore. She felt exceptionally angry and expressing distress and annoyance
resulting from an inability to change or do something about Nick and
Mikael. In her mind, she knew she had to do something far-reaching effect;
radical and maybe extreme. She needed some help as fast as possible, before
it was too late. She basically knew to whom she had to go to for help and
she was highly confident that person will definitely help her in getting
Nick's back into her life.

It was a quiet Saturday mid-morning. She needed to do now. She took her
hand phone, scrolled her phone list and pressed the number to call. It was
after a few rings, the other person had picked up the phone.

"Hello?"  Amy immediately began to sob when she heard the voice of Nick's
mother, Emily, on the other side of the line. Amy believed that she was the
only person in Nick's family would understand her predicament. For being a
woman and a mother to her boyfriend.

"Amy, What is wrong honey? Why are you crying?" Nick's mother sounding
alarmed and panicking for a moment when she heard Amy sobbing.

"It's Nick." Amy tried talking in her sobs. It was her only way to ever get
Emily's attention. She knew that Emily will definitely listen and helped
her in her quest to get her man's back.

"Okay. Tell me what's wrong with Nick now. " Emily's got annoyed to know
what Nick had done to Amy and she was drilling Amy for an answer.

"Can I talk to you personally please. Instead of me telling you on the
phone, " Amy was pleading while still sobbing through the phone.

"Sure honey. Why do not you come by the house for some tea and we can have
the private talk, just between you and me." Nick's mother had suggested to
Amy. "But for you to know that Nick was not home at the moment, though, and
his father was out with a friend playing golf at the club house." She
elaborated in detail.

"That will be alright as I just want to talk to you." Amy stated to Emily,
who agreed to wait on her in her house.

Once they had hung up the phone, Amy immediately gets dressed and went out
of her house and walked towards Nick's house. It only took her about
fifteen minutes and she was already there standing by the front of the
door. She pressed the door bell a few times and waited. The sound of the
door clicking as the door knob being turned. It opened slowly as the views
of Nick's mother became visible as she was standing on the other side of
the door. When Amy saw her, she lunged herself to Nick's mother and hugged
her tight as she cried harder than before on Emily's shoulder.

Emily looked stunned and was greatly surprised by Amy action and she was
not sure how to respond or react to that outburst of emotion from Amy at
that moment. But after a while she hugged Amy back and tried as much as
possible to calm her down by rubbing Amy's back gently.

"Why do not you come in first and we can talk over tea and cookies." Emily
had pulled Amy into the house and ushered her to the dining table and sat
Amy down on one of the plush imported chairs. Prompting Amy to stay there
while she called out to the housekeeper to make the tea and brought in some
cookies from the kitchen for both Amy and herself.

Once they got situated, Emily had asked Amy to tell her what was on her
mind and to tell her everything. Amy told her what had happened during the
vacation trip and what was she concerned about the close relationship that
had developed between Nick and Mikael. Not forgetting, she also did tell
Nick's mother of her anger and frustration towards Nick and Mikael. For
once, she did really out poured her emotions to Nick's mother,
sympathetically and asked for Emily to understand.

All the time, while Amy was talking, Emily had nodded her head coupled of
times, nothing to Amy that she was listening and understand. She had pitied
with what was happening to Amy with what was going between her son and
Mikael. She eagerly wanted to help Amy as she did like her that much that
she will do anything to help Amy. In her mind, Amy was a sweet and kind
sort of girl. Her immediate response in approving of Nick courting Amy
since the beginning, was an indication, of how happy she was about them
being together. Amy was in time was able to wormed herself in to Nick's
mothers heart.


"Look here, Amy. Try not to worry so much. I will help you and I know what
I should have done a long time ago. Let me handle everything. What I need
from you is to do and acknowledge what I am doing and going to say." Emily
was assuring Amy that she would be helping her, more of a motherly way of
thinking.

With all said by Nick's mother, Emily, Amy felt elated and pleased as she
knew as of that moment she had Nick's motherly words and the backing and
Nick will be back with her in no time soon.

Will she triumphs in her quest to get Nick or it will backfire her.
