the character are fictional as well. All other characters were made up and

It Has Always Been You - Chapter 15 - Why Oh Why

For the coming weeks, everyone was busy studying for the upcoming
pre-examinations that were supposed to be held next week. They were to
determine how prepared the students were before their final exams. Drake
does not get to see Mikael much as he was asked to give him some space for
Mikael to study. Being an understanding boyfriend, he did what he was
asked.

He missed Mikael so much and if possible he wanted to be by his side to
give him some moral support that he needed. Yet most of the time Drake felt
angry simply because he had noticed that Mikael was spending more time with
Nick than he liked. As he already knew about Mikael's interest in Nick, he
was not comfortable with the closeness of those two. Over time he called
Mikael, just wanting his boyfriend to take a break from studying and to
meet him for supper. He was always given the same answer; that Mikael was
busy studying. And when asked further with whom he was studying, he was
told with Nick.

Drake: Hey babe, still studying?  Mikael: Yeah, still has a few more
subjects to go through.  Drake: Oh... is it possible for us to meet? I miss
you so... maybe for supper later on?  Mikael: I don't think so, babe. I am
too tired to go out. My brain is over-worked right now.  Drake: That is why
you need to take a break... please?  Mikael: Why don't I make it up to you
this weekend? The most I can take is a two-day break from studying before
the tests next week... OK?  Drake: Are you studying alone?  Mikael: Of
course not. Nick is here too, why?  Drake: Oh... nothing.  Mikael: Alright
then... I've got to get back to studying... see you this weekend, okay?
Drake: Sure babe...bye.

>From what he heard, Nick had been coming around to Mikael's house to
study. It was always just the two of them. When Drake asked why, he was
told the girls did not want to join them. Drake tried to be open-minded and
to trust Mikael. But deep in his heart, he was conflicted about the
scenario. He didn't like it.

Nick was taking the opportunity to be as close as possible to Mikael. He
wanted to regain Mikael's trust. He knew now how he felt towards Mikael. As
much as he wanted to deny it, he couldn't. Nick was the one who had
suggested them forming a study group. But the girls had decided not to join
as they had earlier banded with their other girl classmates to form
one. That was fine with Nick as he would have so much more time alone with
Mikael. Mikael had suggested to study at his place and Nick obviously
agreed immediately. He did miss spending time in Mikael's bedroom like old
times. That was the place where they usually hung out most of the time
after school.

Mikael, being an only child, could have his privacy to the max. His father
was the most understanding person in the world. From what he heard, Mikael
outed himself to his parents. They were so supportive of his sexuality and
said things like"No matter what...you will always be our son."

Mikael had set up a table for them to use. As the day progressed that table
only became an object that took up space as both of them would rather be
lying on the bed, side by side, sprawling to study. Mikael's bedroom floor
was littered with the books and notes they had used or were going to use
later. Nick loved the way their bodies felt being this close on the
bed. Mikael's bed was not big, but just big enough to fit both of them. How
he knows about it was simply because he had spent countless nights sleeping
and sharing Mikael's bed when they had sleepovers. They also shared Nick's
bed when Mikael was at his place.

Drake has been devastated with the whole situation with Mikael. Lately,
Mikael had tried to avoid him totally. His main reason was to
study... study... study. `Fuck... why can't he see that I need attention
too?' All this was too much for Drake. He never had so much feeling towards
another guy. But with Mikael, he... hmmm!

Drake felt that they were drifting apart and seeing Mikael getting friendly
again with Nick just made matters worse. What should he do? Why does it
feel so hurtful now? He wanted his relationship with Mikael to last... he
really did. Being in love with Mikael was not easy being that he was so
cute, cuddly, eye candy and most important, Mikael was a good boy who just
wanted to love and be loved.

>From what he heard, Mikael and Nick did not get along that well after the
revelation of Mikael fancying Nick. Nick had decked him, humiliated him and
ignored him totally. But they became friends again with the help of Amy. If
Mikael kept ignoring him, he did not know what he would do. He had
reservations right now... but he would try to make it last longer. It was
going to be bad if he decided to break it off with Mikael. The crack was
there for everyone to see... and it's getting deeper and wider by the
day. He doesn't deserve this... he wanted to be happy as he thought he
already had been when he found Mikael.

Mikael was having a blast being with Nick again. He knew of the limitations
he had with Nick. Drake was his boyfriend and Nick is his
friend... hopefully he can distinguish between the both of them. Nick and
him had not had time for themselves for a very long time, and this just
felt great.

Mikael actually felt hurt by what Drake had said that night... He did not
know what had been going on and Drake just assumed things. That was why he
asked Drake to give him some space on the pretext of wanting to study. He
did not even allow Drake to visit him, telling him he needed to concentrate
and did not want to get distracted.

While studying, laying beside Nick on his bed, he would take a glance at
him. Seeing again, his handsome face, his pointed nose, his sweet
lips... all seemed as perfect as it was before. There were times when he
just wanted to reach out his hand and touch Nick's face. The temptation was
strong, but he knew that was not to be done. It was awkward enough as it
was. He did not want to spoil the situation.

Will he ever fall for Nick again? If so, what about Drake? Well Nick is
everything and Drake was just Drake.

WHY, JUST WHY, HAD ALL THESE EMOTIONS HAPPEN INSIDE OF HIM?
