The Cornelly's household had always been in a not so good situation. For
the last couple of years, they have not spent any quality time together,
like the holidays, like any family should have been. This year was not much
of a difference. Emily, Nick's mother, had somehow managed to disentangle
herself away from her husband and son again. She had preferred to relish

they've decided to go on a holiday in a warm tropical country in order for
them to escape the winter seasons in America.

Indonesia. That was the type of places, where Emily and her friends would
get lots of sunshine, sea breeze and signifies adoration, from the local
young guys. Surprisingly, for the trip this time, though, Emily had asked
Amy to join her in the vacation. She had greatly taken the liking on Amy so
much to have Amy in joining her on this trip. Ever since the time she got
to know that Nick was dating Amy, she had so much praise for Amy on her
beauty, livableness and her affection towards Nick. She had assumed that
Amy was right for Nick and she embraced her fully into the family.

The trip itself would be a month-long, that last until after the New
Year. And without a doubt, Emily will be missing Thanksgiving, Christmas
and New Year celebration with Nick and Cornelly. It was not on her mind in
the first place as she had her own agenda to fulfill. It was her way of
satisfying her needs of shopping, beauty treatment and everything else, in

For this Thanksgiving Holiday, which falls on the fourteenth of November,
the Cornelly's was celebrating it with the Hayden's. They took a vacation
together; to a ski resort and it will just be them guys only. Nick was so
ecstatically happy when his father, informed him about it. Nick knows for a
fact, that he would be spending all the time there with Mikael at the
beautiful "Vail Ski Resort in Colorado". It was also a form of a retreat
for the fathers to free themselves from tension and anxiety of their
work. Nevertheless, was for the boys to savior a stress free winter holiday
before the upcoming final exam on February?

Nick and Mikael definitely had the most wonderful time at the ski
lodge. Spending as much time in each other arms, while staying in the same
room. As for the fathers, it pretty much the same as they were also sharing
in another room. The boys did not feel any awkwardness, knowing that their
fathers was sharing rooms together, right beside their own. They kind of
guessed that their fathers had become good friends eventually.


It was all due to the turmoil of the boys' propinquity, that the fathers,
unknowing by others, had silently confided with each other for means of
solving and dealing with the difficult situation that both Nick and Mikael
was in. How far the state of them being friends did, was for them to know
and for others to find out themselves. In the intervening period of time,
the fathers occasionally would be seen taking time in being close with one
another and in keeping each other company. They would either be going to
the watering holes for drinks or to the clubhouse for a round of golf.

Unknown to the boys, there was more to it than what was really shown in
face value. In the beginning, Mikael was a bit curious to see the
far-reaching effect of changes from his father. Observantly, his father
would usually like to stay at home during his off day from work. But
lately, he would have gone out to meet for drinks with his so-called
unknown friend. He's obviously seen being euphoric than he ever been
before. Mikael did not try to approach his father to question him. But just
to postulate that his father had finally having been discovered by chance
of someone who makes him happy.

For as long as it goes, Nick knew how tough it was for his father being
married to his inconsiderate and unsympathetic mother, Emily, for as long
as it goes. He had always been the one to bear the brunt of her atrocious
and disrespectful behavior. Nick did wonder to why do his father did not
even try to retaliate to his mother's antagonism. However, to for once got
to see his father grinning from ear to ear and just being in a state of
happiness and satisfaction, in that few moments of his father's life, was
so exultant for Nick.

Indefinitely, he did love his father and wanted to see his father's life to
change for the better. Surprisingly, his father mannerism began to change
rather drastically for the last couple of months. Even so, he was still
kept in the dark to whom that has made his father to find happiness once
again. Not until one day, where both of the boys got invited to have dinner
with the fathers. As of then they knew that their father's had become
friends and were the one that had given each other warranted happiness.

Mikael father, Hayden, had been a widower for a very long time. Precisely,
it was after the death of Mikael's mother, when he was about fourteen years
old. He did try desperately to sway his feeling of loneliness by keeping
himself busy with work at the hospital and the raising of his only child,
Mikael. It was not an easy task being single parents, as Mikael was a hyper
teenager to begin with. But somehow he had managed to do it by providing
lot of love, affection and dedicated attention in raising Mikael the best
way he can. Most importantly, he gave Mikael the trust in being independent
in taking care of himself, while Hayden was away at work.

The day Mikael revealed his homosexuality to him; he had turned himself to
become a protective figure to his son. He knew how tough it could be, being

he managed to keep himself in the closet throughout high school, and Hayden

himself to nearly half of the school at the Sandra birthday party, and at
his senior dance party, Mikael daily life change. Since then, Hayden got to
hear of Mikael being taunted with hideous name-calling and that single
argument with Nick. But surprisingly, he was not physically assaulted by

really a force to reckon with, as he does not give shit of what other
people had said about him.

The love Hayden has for his son had always been extremely good and
strong. He felt beatific with the way Mikael had grown up into a
man. Nevertheless, in life, nothing was perfect. Mistakes got made and
heart got broken. A single incident was of Mikael relationship with
Drake. It took a while for Mikael to find out that Drake was two timing
behind his back with another boy named Malcolm back in Montana. Hayden felt
mightily angry with Drake for hurting Mikael, and yet, knowing of Mikael
capabilities in handling the situation, he took a stepped back and let
Mikael to face it on his own. He was glad that Mikael was able to resolve
it amicably.

In regard to Nick, in the early stages of their friendship, Hayden had
thought that Nick was only using Mikael for sexual favors and was taking
advantage of his son's sincerity. But as Nick's demeanor changes from time
to time towards Mikael, he somehow felt delighted that they could really be
happy together and yet they still had a lot of obstacles to face in the

role in the household had been more of a provider than the man of the

real characters? Undoubtedly he did, however, as love conquer all, he tried
to keep on loving and being with her as much as possible, despite of the
hatred that his parents have on Emily.

As time got told that his father, Nick grandparents, did not approve of
their courtship as they could sense some bad vibe coming out from her
outspoken behavior. Even so, he still married her just to prove that they
were wrong about her. He was so determined to get married to her that got
him blinded to all of her flaws as it were nonexistence to him. He tried to
prove to his parents that they were wrong to judge her that way or even to
opinionated that she was not right for him.

But with time, her true-colour came shining through after they came back
from their honeymoon. He was immediately became a subject to harsh and
authoritarian treatment from her. Nevertheless, he felt totally lucky in a
sense that she do allowed him to have sex with her occasionally and she

Back in their rooms, Mikael and Nick did not waste any time in exploring
