Chapter 51

Franseca finished up dinner and placed it on the table. She called for
Lorenzo and Ismail to come up from the game room to eat. She then walked
over to the den and told Virginia that dinner is on the table. After
leaving Virginia, Franseca went looking for the boys and only found Dewayne
and Jacob in the TV room.

Gloria and Andy Sr. sat at the table talking with Al as Jacob and Dewayne

refusing to eat anything green on their plates. No matter what their mom

"I don't know what you are laughing at Jacob." Gloria looked over at
Jacob. "When you were their age, you didn't want to eat your vegetables

plate just like they did.

with my son and he loves you. Either calls us by our first names or mom and

try." Andy Sr. trying to change the subject away from Jacob!

After dinner, Gloria and Andy Sr. asked to speak with the immediately

"You are my boyfriend, and if we could get married, you would be my husband

Once everyone sat down, Gloria and Andy stood up. "We asked for immediate

grandson loves him. If you don't consider him part of our immediate family,
then we all can stand up and go. You and Andy can stand here talking with

Everyone looked at Virginia as she stood up and put Gloria in her
place. Virginia rarely speaks up, but when she does, you know she is on the
righteous side of the topic at hand. Virginia sat back down and looked over

his grandmother.

"Okay, let's all just settle down. Virginia is right and Dewayne you are
part of our immediate family like I said at the dinner table. I apologize

Al got up and shook Andy's hand and hugged his daughter. Virginia followed,

Jacob started to slide down the wall when Dewayne let Jacob's dick slip out
of his mouth. Dewayne caught him and pulled him back up. Pressing Jacob's
body against the wall of the bathroom, Dewayne started to kiss Jacob. They
both can taste each other in the others mouth as they kissed.

Not wanting to, they broke the kiss. They walked over to the sink with
their dicks still out of their pants. Both of them still half hard, they
grabbed paper towels and wetted them. They cleaned each others dicks before
they put them back into their jails and zipped up the pants. Jacob bent
down to kiss Dewayne's dick in his pants before cleaning his hands.

"Thank you handsome, I really needed that. I can't stop thinking about
you. You have some how put a spell on me or something. I have never acted
like a love sick idiot until I got with you. But I love it Dewayne, I love
you!"

Dewayne kissed Jacob on the lips. "I can't lie to you Jacob; you are the
only thing that is on my mind all the time. I find myself day dreaming of
you. I even accidently brunt myself on the steam counter because I can't
stop thinking of you. There is no dealt in my mind, I love you and you have
my heart."

They kissed one more time before heading out of the bathroom. Dewayne
headed back to the kitchen as Jacob walked out to meet the others at the
truck. They both turned around at the same time to look at each other as
they headed off. Not wanting to leave each other, they blew each other a
kiss before waving goodbye.

All the way back to school, the guys joked with Jacob. Jacob knows that
they know what he and Dewayne were doing and he didn't deny it. He just let
them joke around in order to get it out of their system.

Before getting back to school, Alex let Jacob know about hiring a manager
to run the day to day operations of the print shop. Alex kept apologizing
to Jacob for not letting him know. Each time Jacob told Alex that it is his
business and that he doesn't have to clear anything with him or his
grandfather. Hire can whomever he wants to help run the company.

Jacob walked in to fifth period to find the Battalion Staff in the small
classroom. He looked in to see what is going on. He decided to head over to
the office and see if Major Moore has anything to tell him. To Jacob's
surprise, he didn't find Major Moore in his office. In the fact no one was
in the office. Sergeant Haney is in the large class room getting ready to
follow the class outside.

As soon as the class walked out to the parking lot to drill, Jacob walked
back to the small classroom. He walked over to find out what is going
on. He wants to know why the Battalion Staff has formed and he doesn't know
why.

"Good afternoon everyone, I am glad to see you all here. The question that
is weighing on my mind right now is why are you here? I am not aware of any
meeting of the Battalion Staff for today."

The XO stood up and looked at Jacob. "You asked us to deal with the issue
of Loraine. She feels that she should be back on Battalion Staff and that
you have it out for her. So we decided to form the staff during her period,
which was last period, to hear her out. Now we would like to hear what you
have to say as to why you don't want to place her on back on Battalion
Staff."

"I asked for the Battalion Staff to form to give final ruling on this. I
was not under any obligation to do so. I made those decisions but she seems
to believe that she belongs on staff. I decided to give her a forum to air
out her reasons and let the Battalion Staff as a whole decides if she
should be on Battalion Staff."

Jacob walked in to see Fierro sitting on the other side of the lockers. "As
you all know there are no open positions open on Battalion Staff. In order
to place her back on staff, we will have to demote someone. How fair is
that to that person when that person didn't do anything wrong to deserve
the demotion.

She is making noise and threatening to leave her post as unarmed drill team
commander. I made it clear to her before the holidays that her threats are
not going to get her anywhere. I really hope you guys are not going to fall
for those threats."

"We have to take those threats seriously." Jacob looked over at the
promotion and demotion officer, S1. "She got us to state and we need her to
win state. If giving her Battalion Staff keeps her happy, I don't see why
we don't do it. We want to win state and district. We can't do it without
her."

"Let me tell you why we should not bend to threats. If we do that, everyone
will think they could come up to us and tell us they deserve a promotion
because they have something they feel we can't lose. By even considering
this, you guys are setting a very dangerous precedent; a precedent that
other battalion staffs are going to have to live with for years to come."

"By what she has said, it looks like you have been against her from the
beginning. You have been waiting to get her off of staff, company staff and
demoted completely. You should not be allowed to make the decision
regarding her status here in our battalion."

Jacob can't believe that his staff is going against him. They formed
without him being present. They listened to Loraine and not giving him a
chance to question her in order for the truth to come out. Jacob can't
believe this is really happening. He walked to the middle of the room and
looked into each of the staff member's faces.

"I gave her a chance to speak the truth and she didn't. Instead she came in
front of this board a lied to the members. I stood behind her when the
higher ups wanted her gone. They wanted her demoted and out of the program
for what she did last summer. I stood there and fought for her. I can't
keep fighting for someone that seems hell bent on burning everyone that
stands behind her.

By the looks of it, you guys have made your decision. Give me your
recommendation and let's bring Loraine back in. I believe she is still in
the building. More than likely she is in the shooting range right now."

"We have come to an agreement on what to recommend to you. We all agree on
putting her back on staff. You decide what position. The person you take
off of staff looses just the staff position, but not the rank he or she
earned. We hope you take our recommendation and not force us to go to Major
Moore or Colonel May."

The XO got up and took the seat next to the seat where the battalion
commander sits. Jacob walked over to the seat that the XO was sitting in
and took the seat. He looked over at his XO as the XO handed him the
recommendation in writing.

The door to the shooting range opened. Loraine walked in and sat
down. Jacob read the recommendation as Loraine settled in her seat. He
looked up to look at Loraine. Before speaking, Jacob looked over to Fierro
one last time.

"There are several items we pride ourselves on. One of them is for a cadet
to tell the truth whenever he or she is front of their superior
officers. When a cadet doesn't tell the truth, that cadet breaks one of the
most basic rules we follow. This battalion is run by the cadets, over seen
by our SAI. We need to believe when the cadet is being questioned for
whatever reason; we can trust what the cadet is saying."

Jacob picked up Loraine's file. He grabbed it when he walked over to see
Major Moore. He saw it on the desk and put two and two together on why his
staff is in the small classroom. Jacob knows how Loraine is and he wanted
to be prepared for this.

"The recommendation of my staff is to place you back on battalion staff."
Loraine smiled as Jacob talked. "They listed their reasons why they came to
their decision. As I look down their list of reasons, I can find several
lies you stated before them."

Loraine smile quickly disappeared. "I don't even have to outline the lies
you told before this staff. All we have to do is look at your record. No
cadet should feel that he or she has the right to threaten their superior
officers with leaving their post if they don't get what they want. You did
that to me in private and did it again before this staff.

With the lies you stated and your threats to me and my staff, I am not
going to take my staff's recommendation. I gave you this chance to tell the
truth. If you would have told the truth and not threatened this staff, I
would have considered their recommendation.

Instead the decision I will be sending to Colonel May, our DAI, is a
request of demotion from caption to sergeant. I also will recommend to
Colonel May that you are to be removed as our unarmed drill team
captain. If he grants the demotion, automatically you will be removed from
drill team commander. You will not hold the rank.

Until I get his decision, you are suspended immediately from the drill
team. You are not to drill or command the drill team from this point on. On
any uniform day from this day until the day I get the decision from Colonel
May, you are not to give orders to any cadet. I can't take the rank away
until our DAI signs off on the demotion."

Loraine looked at the battalion staff for help, but they stayed quiet. She
stood up to talk, but Fierro stopped her. He asked her to sit down as he
made his way to the center of the room. Fierro looked at Jacob and the
Battalion Staff. He grabbed Loraine's file from Jacob and wrote something
in it before handing it back to Jacob.

"I speak with Colonel May every day as Brigade Commander. When Jacob
offered this offer to Loraine in Major Moore's office, I reported back to
Colonel May. He ordered me to sit in on the hearing and if need be, step in
if the wrong decision is made. If the right decision is made, I am ordered
to sign off on the decision and make it official.

When I walked in here today, I already knew what Colonel May wanted. When I
heard the recommendation of this staff, I couldn't believe what I was
hearing. I am glad that Jacob holds everyone to a standard that we all must
adhere to; a standard that he didn't create, but has been in place a lot
longer before we even got here!

No later than tomorrow, Major Moore will have the official demotion from
Colonel May. I have signed off on the demotion on Loraine's file. As of
this date forward, Loraine is longer a captain, she will be demoted to the
rank of sergeant. As Jacob said, since she no longer holds the rank of
captain, she can't command the unarmed drill team. She can be on it, but
not command it.

I will let Colonel May know what was said in this hearing. I will also let
him know what the staff recommendation was to your Battalion Commander and
that this hearing was convened without your Battalion Commander's knowledge
or presence. Once the DAI has all the facts, there is going to be more
demotions than just Loraine's.

Jacob we need to go to Major Moore's office, he is waiting for us." Fierro
walked out of the small classroom, leaving everyone stunned.

Jacob called the hearing closed and stepped down. He didn't even look back
as he walked out of the small classroom heading to Major's office. Jacob
knows that he has another battle on his hands; a battle with Major Moore
that he doesn't want to have! Jacob knocked on the office door and waited
for Major Moore to invite him in.

"Jacob please come in and take a seat. Fierro and I are about to call
Colonel May and you can brief all of us on what happened in the hearing you
just held." Major Moore waved Jacob in, as he dialed numbers on the phone.

The phone rang a couple times and Colonel May's secretary answered. Without
questions, she sent the call through to Colonel May. Fierro spoke first and
he told the Colonel everything that had happened during the hearing while
Jacob wasn't there. Colonel May made it clear that he isn't happy about the
hearing being held without the Battalion Commander being present.

Then Jacob spoke and explained everything that had happened when he walked
in. He told Colonel May about the recommendation that was given, but he
didn't go by that. Instead he went by the rules that all cadets must follow
and executed the demotion.

"First I would like to say Jacob, good job. We are not going to be told
what to do by a cadet that thinks he or she is needed more than going by
the rules. I will sign off on the demotion and return it so it will make it
official.

 Second and most importantly, I am not happy with the Battalion Staff
forming without their Battalion Commander. Jacob didn't have to do what he
did and once again Jacob gave Loraine another chance to save herself and
she just threw the dirt on top of herself. We didn't bury her. She dug the
hole deeper and deeper with each lie and action she took. Then she goes and
lies in a hearing that she was told that she needs to tell the truth. She
threw herself in the hole she dug and buried herself.

Major Moore something needs to be done about the Battalion Staff forming
without Jacob being there. Find out who put this in motion and pull them
from their position. They basically tried to overthrow their commanding
officer."

"I will find out and make sure you get the name by the end of the week. We
will have an open position on Battalion Staff that will need to be filled
though. Will you sign off on a promotion as soon as I send it to you?"

"Yes I will because I know that your battalion is the first up for my
inspection. I don't want any excuses why you didn't pass. You will also
need to send me a name of who you want to replace Loraine as unarmed drill
team commander as well. I would like both of those names by the end of the
week. That way you can get the promotion signed and back by your next
uniform day."

Major Moore agreed with Colonel May before Colonel May hung up. Major Moore
picked up the receiver and hung it back up to make sure his line is
dead. He looked over to Jacob and Fierro as he leaned back on his seat.

"Now that I have to replace two officers, I would like your
recommendations. Who do you think can take over the unarmed drill team and
win state for us?"

"Major Moore, I didn't want this to happen. I tried to give Loraine another
chance. She is the one that decided to continue doing what she thought
would get her places. With that said, she isn't replaceable. None of us can
think that. The junior Monica I believe can pick up where Loraine left
off. As far as the other officer, we don't even know yet who put the
battalion staff together and made it clear that I won't be involved."

"I agree with you Jacob and she is the one I am going to send in to replace
Loraine. Now you are right also on the other item. I will look in on it and
let you know. The next time we sit down, we will talk about that
replacement Jacob."

Major Moore excused Jacob and Fierro. As they walked out Major Moore called
for Jacob to stay a minute. Jacob turned around and walked back into the
office. Major Moore got up from his desk and walked around.

"You did a great job today Jacob. You showed leadership in that
hearing. Although I like Loraine and I fought for her every time, she did
wrong. Thank you for trying everything you could for her. Don't leave this
office thinking I am mad with you. I am very proud of you for this and
everything you have done since you joined this program. I know I never say
it, but I am. Thank you Jacob and please hold your head up high!"

Jacob nodded and smiled at Major Moore. He walked out of the office right
when the bell rang. He just walked out of the building through the office
door instead of the large classroom. Jacob went across to the main building
for sixth period.

Jacob found Chase walking to class. He ran up to him. Chase turned as Jacob
caught up to him. They talked all the way to their classroom. They didn't
even stop talking when the final bell rang. Their teacher had to ask them
to stop talking. Jacob laughed as he turned to pay attention to the
lecture.

All through class, Chase and Jacob threw rolled up note book paper at each
other. A few times the paper balls hit the kids on the side of Chase and
Jacob. Which they started to get into the paper ball fight! By the time the
bell rang, the back of the classroom had paper balls all over the place.

Jacob and Chase got up to leave and right as they reached the door. Their
teacher called them back in. They had to clean up all the paper balls on
the floor before they were allowed to leave. In no time flat between the
two of them they collected all the paper balls and threw them away in the
waste basket.

They got to the parking lot to find the others waiting for them. Jacob
reassured Alex and Matt that everything is okay on the way downtown. He
explained again that there is nothing to worry about with them hiring
Mr. Baird to run their print company. This time Alex and Matt seemed more
at ease through the conversation.

After parking, they headed over to the new offices. As they walked up to
the building, they stood on the outside looking up at the building. Jacob
knew that the building is twelve floors, not counting the basement or the
lobby. It just looks a lot bigger when you actually see it in person.

They headed in and separated once they reached the elevator. Jacob and Tony
got on the elevator, while Chase, David and Tom went with Alex and
Matt. Jacob and Tony got off the elevator on the top floor and walked into
the office to find Shirley sitting at her new desk on the phone. She
pointed Jacob to the right as he walked in.

Jacob walked down the hall until he heard his grandfather's voice. He
knocked on the door and walked in. He found Al talking on the phone as
well. He just sat down in the seat in front of his grandfather's desk. Al
got off the phone as Jacob sat down.

"It is good to see you Jacob. I didn't know that you planned on coming down
this afternoon. All the furniture from your old office has been moved into
your new office already. You are on the other side of the hall. That way we
have the same size offices. You know the way people think. The bigger the
office a person sits in the higher the person is in the company. You and I
are equals in this company."

"Thank you grandpa I know you are always looking out for me. I came down to
check in with you and see if I can help with anything. Plus Alex and Matt
were nervous about hiring a person and not telling us about the hire."

"They don't need to check in with us about the hire."

"I know grandpa and that is what I told them. Still they felt bad not
telling you that someone is going to turn up this morning. I hope this
Mr. Baird didn't spook you in anyway. The way Alex talks about him, he
sounds like he is older than you."

"I met Ron and he is a nice guy. When I saw him coming around the building
this morning I thought the worst of him. After talking with him, I knew he
was telling me total truth. What Alex and Matt did is very smart. They need
an experienced person to run this company in order to get it off the
ground. I myself have no idea how to run a printing company. They were
smart bringing in Ron like they did."

They sat there talking about the access they are going to give Alex, Matt
and Ron to the building. Jacob and Al decided that they will get a key to
the front door, but their code to the alarm system will only deactivate the
alarm in the lobby and the basement. They will not be able to use the
elevator after it is locked down.

"Now Jacob, I want to talk with you about Martha. I would like to promote
her to supervisor after she fixes the Mesa store. Eventually I want to open
up a position for her to run the entire McDonalds branch of our business
for us. Something like vice-president of operations. I know that she is the
right person for that job.

That way you can be a teenager. I want you to enjoy your senior year of
high school the way you should. You've had to grow up way too fast
Jacob. You will have plenty of time being an adult. Don't be in a hurry to
grow up. Enjoy being a kid and then enjoy being college wherever you go."

"Are you taking me out of the business grandpa?" Jacob leaned forward on
his chair with a worried look on his face.

"Not at all Jacob! This is going to be your business when you graduate from
college. You can and I want you to come down when you have free time to
learn about the business. I just want you to be able to do the things that
you should be doing as a junior in high school and soon a senior. Go out
with your boyfriend and be with him. This is your business and will be
waiting for you when you get out of college."

 Jacob relaxed back into his chair. He agreed with his grandfather about
the position for Martha. She is the right person for that position. They
moved on to Andy Sr. and what to do with him. One thing they both agree on
is that he can't stay in the position he is in now. He has shown that he is
not here for the money. He is actually here to set things right with his
family.

"I will look and see what I can do for him. Right now he still has to learn
that part of the business from the ground up. Who knows, one day he will be
here in the office with you. For now he still has to learn the business."

Once again Jacob agreed with his grandfather. Al got a call giving Jacob a
chance to go across the hall and look at his office. On his way he called
for Tony from the lobby. They walked to the office together. Jacob couldn't
believe the size of it when he walked in. His grandfather was not lying
when he said it is the same size as his.

"Jacob, Mr. Serna wanted me to give you this folder. Inside of it you will
find the keys to this office, the elevator, and four keys to the front door
of the building. Whenever you are ready, I will get the alarm company on
the phone where you can install your pin for the alarm. Right now your
grandfather is the only one that has a pin for the alarm."

Jacob walked over to Shirley to get the yellow envelope from her. He
thanked her as he walked back to his desk. Jacob also explained to her that
he will get her when he and the other three are ready to set their pins.

After Shirley left, Jacob sat there looking around his office. He found
that he has a closet to hang things in and even a bathroom. He can't
believe that he has a bathroom in his office. Tony played with Jacob that
he and Dewayne could use the bathroom for their love sessions as they did
at Taco Bell during lunch.

They teased one another until Al walked into the office. Jacob got up when
he saw his grandfather walking in. Al told Jacob to sit down and there is
no need for him to stand up when he walks in. Al looked over at Tony before
he spoke again.

"I didn't know that you came down with my grandson Tony. When we get home,
I need to talk with you. It is good news so don't worry." He turned to
Jacob as he talked. "I would like to get out of here, so if you are ready
let's go. Shirley already left. She will help you get your code for the
alarm the next time you come down."

Jacob got up and walked out with Al and Tony. Al locked the office before
walking to the elevator. As they walked out of the elevator, they ran into
Alex and the others. Jacob met Mr. Baird but they couldn't talk. Everyone
wanted to get home before they got stuck in the afternoon traffic. They
said their goodbyes as Al activated the alarm and locked up the
building. They finished shaking hands and headed to the cars they came in.

On the way home, every time Jacob looked in the mirror, he saw Alex and
Matt kissing. They can't keep their hands off of each other. That got Jacob
thinking about Dewayne. He wants to get home and be with him as soon as
possible.

Just as Jacob pulled into his driveway, Al pulled in his. Everyone jumped
out of the truck and headed in. Dewayne seemed to read Jacob's mind because
he met him at the door. They walked in together and headed over to the TV
room.

It didn't take long for everyone to get bored watching television. Jacob
got up from the couch and walked out to the back yard. He didn't know that
his grandfather put a deadline for the construction work to be done. When
he walked outside, Jacob found the construction workers hard at
work. Trying not to disturb them, Jacob walked past them.

He noticed the back door to the new house open as he walked towards Alex's
house. Instead of going to Alex's house, Jacob decided to go and see what
is going on in the new house. He walked in the back and made his way to the
front. Hearing banging coming from the back rooms, Jacob headed that
direction.

When Jacob walked into the master bedroom, he found his father installing
shelves in the closet. Jacob turned around and started to walk out as
quietly as possible in order not to disturb his father, but it was too
late. His father saw him just as he made it to the door.

"Jacob I didn't see you there. How long have you been here?"  Jacob's
father walked out of the closet wiping his face.

Jacob turned back around and walked in back in. He looked in the closet to
see the work his father is doing. He installed shelving and shoe racks in
the closet. He looked over to his father to see him sweating from being in
the closet working.

"I see mom has you hard at work already. I am sorry for springing this on
you guys. I just think it is best to not to have any of my family living in
a house that really belongs to my ex. One day he will be back and if he
comes around, I can give him back the house. I know this move is costing
you and mom and for that I am sorry as well."

"Don't worry about anything jacob! Your mother has been on me about these
shelves and shoe racks for weeks now. I bought the stuff but didn't install
them. At least now I can install them in the house before we move in. It is
a lot easier this way.

Um Jacob, your mother and I had planned to re-carpet the old house. There
is nothing wrong with the carpet in that house. She just wanted a different
type of carpet. To me I like what is in that house and in this one, but
your mother. I know we don't own the house and I figure we should run this
by you and Al. Do you..."

"Dad you don't have run anything past me and grandpa when it comes to this
part of the house. Soon this house will be part of grandpa's and mine. But
still, this is moms and your part of the house. If you want to re-carpet
it, that's fine. Do whatever you guys want to do with it." Jacob looked
down at the carpet to see what is wrong with it.

"It won't delay us on moving out of the other house. I know you and your
grandfather want us moved in here by the end of the month. I can have the
carpet installed by Wednesday. During that time I can be packing up the
other house. We should be in here a lot sooner than what you and Al want us
to be. That way you guys can get the other house ready for whatever you
plan to do with it."

Jacob nodded his house as he started his way back out of his room. Andy
Sr. followed Jacob to the kitchen. He stopped and watched his son walk
out. He knows that he has a lot to do in order to gain the trust of his
kids again. Gloria was easy because she knows him, but his kids; all they
know is a father that abandoned them when they were just babies. He was
there when Jeremy and Andy Jr. were born but not Jacob.

Walking back to the house, Jacob dodged the workers in his yard. Several
times Jacob almost got hit with building supplies. He figured he needs to
get in the house to be safe. Completely forgetting the real reason he had
gone out, Jacob walked back in and headed up to do his homework.

Just as he finished his homework, Dewayne walked in the room to get Jacob
for dinner. Dewayne walked up behind Jacob as quietly as he could. Just as
he reached Jacob, he placed his hands on Jacob's shoulders, causing Jacob
to jump. Jacob turned to see Dewayne smiling down at him.

He raised his hands and wrapped them around the back of Dewayne's head. He
pulled Dewayne down to meet his lips to kiss him. Jacob didn't let go of
Dewayne until he heard his grandmother yell up for him and Dewayne to come
down for dinner. Jacob let go of Dewayne and got up from the chair. He
looked down to see Dewayne hard dick pressing against the front of his
pants.

Jacob patted the front of Dewayne's pants as he walked past him. "That is
what I love to see when I kiss my boyfriend. You don't need to say the
words to me. Your body is telling me everything."

Jacob patted the front of Dewayne's pants again as he started to run to the
bathroom. Dewayne started to laugh and ran after Jacob. Instead of washing
up for dinner, they got into a water fight. They didn't even hear Virginia
walk in.

"Okay boys I can understand washing up for dinner, but you two are taking
it a step too far." Virginia started to laugh as she walked into the
bathroom. "Dinner is ready and everyone is waiting on you two. Dry
yourselves off and get down to the dinner table in two minutes. If you
don't, we will start without you."

The boys stood still as Virginia walked out of the room. Jacob looked at
Dewayne and started to laugh, which caused Dewayne to start laughing. They
quickly dried off and headed down for dinner. No one said anything to them
as they sat down. They just continued with what they were talking about
when Jacob and Dewayne sat down.

After dinner, Al spoke with Alex and Matt. He explained to them how the
alarm system is going to work in the office. Jacob handed them each a key
to the main door and Al handed them three keys to the offices in the
basement. Alex and Matt didn't even question why their alarm code only
works for the lobby and the basement. They didn't even think they were
going to get keys to the building.

Alex handed back to Al one of the set of keys to the offices in the
basement. He asked Al to give the keys to Mr. Baird tomorrow when he gets
there. Al didn't object and told Alex that he will take care of it for him.

After taking care of the issues of the keys, Al left the study followed by
Jacob, Alex and Matt. Jacob walked down to the game room. He found everyone
there sitting around talking except Lorenzo and Ismail. They are sitting in
front of the television playing video games in their own little world.

Jacob sat down next to Dewayne and joined the conversation. Soon they
started to talk about what to do for the rest of the evening. Chase got up
and pulled out the poker table. Without objection, everyone grabbed a
folding chair and took their spot around the table as the poker chips got
handed out.

They sat there playing poker for several hours. They didn't play for the
money, because they didn't bet real money.  They played to just have
fun. They joked around with each other as the games got played. It didn't
matter who is ahead or who is behind. When someone ran out of chips,
someone at the table would give that person more chips in order for them to
continue playing.

Dewayne looked around the poker table at all the happy faces. As his eyes
met Jacob gaze, he saw the love in his eyes, a deep love that he has never
been given before. Jacob truly does love him and he loves Jacob just as
much, if not even more.

Yes, before he told his parents that he is gay, they loved him and treated
him with respect. But Jacob gives Dewayne a type of love that Dewayne has
never gotten from anyone in his life. Dewayne finally sees what it is like
being part of a family that loves and accepts you no matter who you love; a
family that doesn't judge or require anything of you! A family that will
defend you to the very end! He loves being here as part of this family.

Dewayne reached out under the table and grabbed Jacob's hand. He held on to
Jacob as tight as he could as he leaned in to kiss his boyfriend. Jacob
returned the kiss that turned into a very passionate kiss. They broke the
kiss and at the same time they said the three words they feel so deeply in
their heart about each other. "I LOVE YOU!"

WRITER'S ORNER:

{Thank you everyone for coming back to another installment of "Jacob
Finding His Way"! This is the longest running saga of my four stories. It
is my first story and I hope it will outlast the other three stories I am
writing.

A lot of things happened in this chapter and I don't even know where to
begin. One thing I am hoping you guys caught in this chapter that I am
trying to do. Jacob is a junior in high school and has been acting like an
adult for almost his entire high school years. It is time for him to enjoy
being a kid; not an adult for a change.

 I am trying to move Jacob back to being a high school kid, doing high
school things. There is still going to be things that Jacob is going to
have to do that a normal junior in high school wouldn't do. So don't think
he is going to go straight from what he is doing to being just a normal
teenager. Talk about culture warp!

He is still going to do things involving the business. He is still going to
make decisions running the house he owns. But he is also going to be a
teenager and do teenage things like having sex in the Taco Bell bathroom;
getting in trouble with his teacher throwing paper balls during class, get
involved in school activities again and have the love sick feelings he has
for Dewayne. And on and on I can go on that as well.

In this chapter the family found out about Gloria and Andy Sr. deciding to
get married again. Everyone is happy for them. I really hope that Andy
Sr. can bring Gloria to her senses and she stops acting the way she is
acting towards Jacob and Dewayne. By now she should realize there is
nothing that she can do that will change Jacob.

For the first time in this chapter we heard from Jacob's step
grandmother. She has been there in the back ground but has never really
said that much. No one really knew where she stood as far as her step grand
children. We now know that she supports Jacob and Dewayne and will stand up
for them. I really don't think this is going to be the last time that
Virginia is going to have to settle Gloria or someone else down.

Finally Jacob demoted Loraine and got her out of his hair. Or did he? She
strikes me as a woman that will not walk away quietly. What do you guys
think? She doesn't have the support of Major Moore anymore and she has
never had the support of Colonel May or the others in battalion. If she
does anything, she will be alone doing it.

We saw a little more of Chase back in this chapter. I am trying to get all
the characters back in each chapter. Tom and David haven't really come
back, but will. I know I have Alex and Matt in this story when they have
their own. They will be in this story, but not as heavy as they have been
in the last couple of chapters.

Tony also appeared a little in this story. We know that Al needs to talk
with him about something, but what was it? We also know whatever it is, it
is good news. For that answer you will need to tune into the next chapter
of Jacob. Trust me it is good and you guys will like what happens with this
plot.

I know this chapter only covered a couple of days. I also know that it had
a lot of ROTC in it. Some of you readers wrote me the last time I had that
plot get this heavy in the story. I said from the beginning of the story it
based on my life in high school. I have gotten away from that lately. Still
some of the plots in the story will still be based on my real life in high
school and the ROTC plot is one of them. That plot will be there until they
graduate high school, but will not continue in the college years.

One final thought on the story before I let you guys go. The part of the
story when Alex sat with Jeremy in his room and realized he looked just
like Jacob. That part is also true. Not the plot that Alex seeing that, but
the part is. Although we have a brother between us, Jeremy and I look as if
we are twins. To top it off, we are the spitting image of our father. Andy
Jr. took after my mother's side of the family. Just wanted to let you all
know that!

As always I can go on and on about the open plots in the story! If I do
that, I can actually write several more chapters. There are so many plots
that can take a turn at anytime. You might think it is going to go one way,
but is lands up going another. Do not miss out on anything, or you will be
kicking yourself for it.

I keep saying over and over again don't forget about Chase. He will be
spending time between two of my stories. I am giving that away, but look
for him in Beneath the Mask. He is going to come back full and what is
happening in his life will stun you.

EDITOR'S CORNER:

Let me start off with my reaction to Virginia piping up and putting Gloria
in her place. I had long and often wondered about this lady. She's Al's
wife. She has to be strong spirited. It's not that Al is hard to handle,
but for him to be happy in a relationship requires someone his equal in
strength of character. Somehow I suspected it was there with Virginia and
now my suspicions have been confirmed. Something tells me that she's going
to firmly deal with anyone that messes with her loved ones.

I'm glad Andy Sr. is going to re-marry Gloria. I've thought all the way
along she needs a strong man to redirect her personality. That's the polite
way of saying I hope Andy Sr. regularly scratches her itches! She needs it!

Loraine is going to find some way to fight Jacob one last time. She's not
the type to let something like this go uncontested. Whatever she tries
will, as it was this last time, be self destructive. Some negative people
just won't give up and I think Loraine is one of them. In the ROTC plot,
I'm curious who it was that lead the movement to call the Battalion Staff
to meet without informing Jacob as Battalion Commander. That was a serious
breach of protocol. There is going to be one more head to roll on that
issue. I hope Jacob is able to promote a person that will enhance his
staff.

Jacob is having a real epiphany. He's finding out what real love feels
like; what it's like to be truly IN love.  He's finding out what it is to
have someone that loves him completely and totally. He's finding out that
there truly is a love that isn't selfish. Jacob honestly loved Joey, but it
was always a chore. Jacob all too often had to do the `heavy lifting' with
Joey. With Dewayne, Jacob is finding out how easy it is to be in love when
it is with someone that loves him back equally. Dewayne is a treasure for
Jacob in so many ways.

Things are going along pretty smooth for Jacob right now. As our author
said, it's going to be fun to ride along with Jacob as he is able to enjoy
being a more normal teen and have some fun.
