Chapter 53
After Dewayne and Jacob reset up their room, they headed over to spend time
with Jeremy. Jacob knows by the way Jeremy is acting that is his scared and
didn't know what was going on. Jeremy needs to be taken step by step so he
understands before something happens. If that doesn't happen, Jeremy will
do one of two things; either he will act out and make a scene or do what he
is doing right and now and that is to hide in the corner.
Jacob walked into Jeremy's room acting as if they are playing hide and go
seek. That got Jeremy to come out of the corner and run into the closet to
hide. Dewayne joined in as they looked everywhere in the room for Jeremy
except for the closet. The entire time you can hear Jeremy laughing that
his brother and friend can't find him.
As always, Jacob kept looking for Jeremy until Jeremy decides to come out
and show himself. This time Jeremy stayed hidden for almost twenty minutes
before he ran out of the closet and ran down the stairs.
Both Jacob and Dewayne went running after him, but let him stay ahead of
them. Jeremy ran into the den and hid between the curtains. Dewayne walked
in and acted as if he couldn't find Jeremy even though he could see
Jeremy's shoes popping out from the curtains as well Jeremy biting down on
the curtains as he hid.
Jacob walked in and put his finger over his lips as he tip toed over to
Jeremy. "It looks like we can't find him again. How does he hide so good
Dewayne that we can't find him? Remind me when we find my brother to ask
him how he does that!"
"I don't know how he hides so good Jacob, but he does. Man is he smart guy,
we can never find him. I wonder..." Jeremy jumped out from behind the
curtains laughing and went running out in the hall. "There he goes Jacob,
hurry and let's catch him before he gets a chance to hide again and we
can't find him."
Jacob and Dewayne pretended to run out of the den, but only stomped to make
it sound as if they are running out. They gave Jeremy a few minutes to go
and hide again. Jacob walked out first and started searching the rooms.
When he walked into the TV room, he spotted Jeremy popping his head over
the arm of the couch, but played it off as if he didn't see Jeremy.
Lorenzo and Ismail jumped up from the floor, Jacob placed his finger over
his mouth to let them know to be quiet. Lorenzo and Ismail nodded their
heads in agreement. They have already gotten used to the way they play with
Jeremy and they played along.
This went on for an hour or so until Jeremy gave up laughing at Jacob and
the others. He signed to Jacob that he will never win because they will
never find him. Jacob signed back that he agrees but one day he will find
him.
Jeremy sat down in front of the television with a big smile on his
face. Jacob sat down next to him and rubbed his head. They started to play
wrestle until Al walked in and broke it apart. He needs to speak with Jacob
before dinner, so Jacob got up from the floor. He looked down and tapped
him on the head for Jeremy could see him sign.
"You know I love you Jeremy, don't you?"
Jeremy nodded his head back and signed, "I love you too Jacob. Thank you
for playing with me and maybe we can play again tomorrow."
Now Jacob nodded his head as he walked out to join his grandfather in the
study. He has no idea what his grandfather needs to speak to him about, but
whatever it is seems urgent. Normally he can wait until Jacob is not
involved in something.
"Jacob there is a few things I would like to go over with you
quickly. First I want you to clear up for me who that is guy that delivered
your new furniture. I found him snooping around when Dewayne was upstairs
checking the furniture. By the sounds of it, he knows you from somewhere."
"He is a guy I barely know from my past. I met him while we lived in the
apartments when I was attending Austin High School. I watched movies up in
his apartment a couple of times and he invited me to play basketball with
him several times. I believe I only went with him once to play basketball
if I remember it correctly.
I didn't know that he was snooping around. He is one of the assistant
managers at the furniture store. I will make it clear to the owner that he
is not allowed to come to my house if he wants to do business with us."
"I agree you need to speak with the owner about that guy. I don't think
Dewayne likes him and you have a good thing with Dewayne. Both of you guys
are strong people and you need your life so you aren't worn down with
someone always leaning on you every second of every day like you last
boyfriend did.
Let's drop that subject and move on. We are starting to own a lot of things
and in return something will fall through the cracks. One of the things I
am worried about is security. Every building I walk into downtown has
security making sure everything is running smoothly. We really need that
because of the problems in the past with money in the stores and now with
all the new building we own. What do you think about that?"
Jacob and Al tossed around ideas on how to deal with the question about
security, but didn't come to a conclusion when they heard the call that
dinner is ready. They boiled it down to two ways to go about it. One is to
hire an established security firm to deal with it or having their own
security within the company.
They found themselves back in the study after dinner, but this time talking
with Alex and Matt. Alex and Matt asked to speak with Jacob and Al about
what had happened with the alarm system earlier in the day. Jacob noted the
coincidence that this talk is about security when he and his grandfather
had just talked about it before dinner.
After they talked, Jacob and Al felt even more comfortable about Alex and
Matt. They are proving to Al what Jacob already knows and that is they can
be trusted. Al already has seen that, but this just underscored the point.
As it got later, the bottom floor started to empty out. Each member of the
household went up to their own rooms to turn in for the night. Dewayne left
before Jacob to get ready for bed and an hour later Jacob headed up to turn
in. He walked passed Chase's door and saw him just sitting on his bed
looking straight to the wall in front of him.
"Hey man what is up? I know you probably miss Andy more than any of us
because you guys used to talk a lot. You know that we are best friends and
I will always make time to hang with my best friend, so what's on your
mind? Is it girl problems? I may be gay, but I can still relate and I can
help."
"No it is not girl problems, I wish there was a girl so I could have girl
problems! It is something way different than that. I can't stop thinking
what is going to happen to me after high school. We only have a year and
half and it's all over. You and the others will be off to college. There is
no way you will allow me to stay here after high school."
"Chase, where in the hell did you get that crazy notion? Like I said, you
are my best friend and I will do anything for you. Now just who said you
aren't going to go to college with me or the other guys. You are smart and
there is no doubt you will get a scholarship to go to a college of your
choice."
"Don't fool yourself Jacob; I am barely getting by in some of my
classes. My grade point average is just that, average. I won't get a
scholarship to even go to community college here in El Paso much less a
university. My parents don't want anything to do with me, so they aren't
going to pay for me to go to college."
"Look Chase, we will get you there if that is what you want to do. If you
want to go to college, I will give you the money if you don't get
scholarships. I promise there will be nothing that will keep you down
except yourself."
Chase looked at Jacob not stunned, not mad and not angry, but between all
those feelings. He doesn't want Jacob to pay for his college when he
already has supported him for the last year or so. It's not right to ask
him to do that.
"Chase let's do this for now, why we both think about it and not talk about
it until next year. For now I think what we should do is get busy with
getting you a girlfriend, man." Jacob slugged Chase on the shoulder making
Chase smile. "If you're like me, those balls of yours have to be ready to
explode by now not having had sex! Or maybe you have been making a lot love
with your right hand."
Jacob started to laugh and Chase was stunned at what Jacob said. He's
forgotten how it feels talking with his best friend like this. Jacob goes
from serious to being funny as if someone is flipping a switch inside of
him. Chase started to move his right hand up and down as if he is jerking
off.
"You're right. My poor right hand is a lot stronger than my left. I need to
get to a gym and lift weights with my left hand to get as strong as my
right. What do you have planned to help me get a new girl to date? I don't
want another one like my ex. Man was she a headache. I don't want another
one like that only in different wrapping."
Both of them sat there discussing what they are going to do to get Chase a
girlfriend. Even if it is a one night fling, they know Chase needs to get
rid of the pressure that is building in the nether region. After figuring
out a game plan, Jacob left Chase and headed to his room to join Dewayne.
When he walked in, he found Dewayne sitting up in the bed. Dewayne looked
over at Jacob as he walked over to the bed. Jacob kicked off his shoes,
pulled of his pants and laid down on the bed with Dewayne. Before Dewayne
could say anything, Jacob reached over and hooked up his IV and turned on
the machine.
Before falling asleep, Jacob and Dewayne were talking. All the while when
they were talking, both of them wanted to jump the others bones. They kind
of knew it when they stole glances at each others dicks. They can see the
other hard as a rock.
Finally they talked themselves out and turned off the lights. Dewayne
cuddled up close to Jacob and wrapped his arms around him. With the humming
of the machine, soon the pair had fallen asleep and didn't wake until the
next morning.
To Jacob's surprise he woke up before Dewayne. He crawled out of bed as
quietly and gently as he could so he didn't wake up Dewayne. He got dressed
and headed down to the kitchen to see how breakfast is coming. He found
Franseca hard at work over the stove cooking up a storm.
"Franseca, you look like you have been up for a while. The house is
straightened up already and by the looks of it breakfast is almost done. I
know you do a lot around here and for that I am truly grateful. I know you
are doing a lot more than what you originally signed up for."
Franseca turned and looked at Jacob standing in the middle of the kitchen
barefoot, with sweats and a t-shirt on. She couldn't help but smile at
seeing the kid in Jacob. Only a kid would walk around the house and not
worry what they look like even if they look like they just crawled out of
bed.
"There are no complaints coming from me Jacob. I enjoy being here and you
are giving me a lot more than I am giving you as far as service. I should
be the one thanking you for accepting my son and Matt. I know the past
between you two and you didn't think twice about it. I can honestly tell
you I have never met anyone that would do what you have done."
"Not a problem Franseca; not a problem at all! I know Alex was in a bad
place back then and I won't hold it against him. You bring a lot more than
you think into this house. Don't think you are just an employee here,
because you aren't. You are part of our family and nothing will change
that.
I know this might sound strange, but could you help me make Dewayne plate
for him to have breakfast I bed?" Franseca turned and smiled at Jacob. "He
has been working really hard at work and I put him to work on his days
off. I would like him to just put his feet up today with nothing to worry
about."
"How about I do you one better for you Jacob? I will prepare two
plates. One for you and one for Dewayne, that way you both can have
breakfast in bed together."
Jacob nodded his head up and down as he helped Franseca get the
plates. They both prepared the plates and Franseca helped Jacob take the
plates up to his room. He slowly opened the door to make sure he didn't
wake up Dewayne. Franseca walked in behind Jacob and sat down the plate and
cup of orange she is carrying on the dresser. She kissed Jacob on the cheek
and walked out of the room.
Once Franseca closed the door, Jacob walked over to the bed and crawled
back in. He started to kiss Dewayne on the lips, and within seconds Dewayne
woke up. He opened his eyes to see Jacob kissing him. He opened his mouth
and allowed Jacob to welcome Jake's tongue. Dewayne wrapped his arms around
Jacob and they started rolling around the bed.
"What smells so good Jacob? It smells like I woke up in the kitchen instead
of our bedroom." Dewayne broke the kiss and stuck his nose in the air like
a dog does.
Jacob jumped out of the bed to get the plates of food. He first grabbed
Dewayne's plate and orange juice and walked it over to Dewayne. He then
went back and grabbed his. As he crawled back into bed, he pulled out the
forks and knives.
Jacob started to slice up Dewayne's ham, eggs and pancakes. Once he cut all
of Dewayne's food, he started to feed him. At the same time Dewayne started
to feed Jacob his food. They laughed every so often, but didn't stop
feeding each other their food. Once they finished eating, Jacob put the
dishes on the bedside table and lay back down.
Not wanting to, they went back to sleep in each others arms with a full
stomach. They actually have smiles on their faces with crumbs of food on
the side of their mouths. This time Dewayne woke up first and woke up Jacob
the same way that Jacob had woken him up for breakfast. They tumbled around
in the bed for a few minutes and then got up.
After taking a shower and getting dressed, both of them took the dishes
down and washed them up. After they finished the dishes, they walked around
to see who is in the house. The only ones they found are Toni, Jeremy,
Lorenzo and Ismail.
Jacob looked in the newspaper to see what movies are showing, but decided
to take Lorenzo and Ismail to "Disney on Ice" at the Coliseum. He knows
Jeremy will sit through that better than a movie. So they got permission
from Franseca and headed out.
As they took their seats, both Jacob and Dewayne found out that the other
has never seen the show. They sat there just as excited as Jeremy, Lorenzo
and Ismail are. Toni never cared for stuff like this. He sees through it
and uses logic that takes the fun out of things like this. Every now and
then Jacob tried to get Toni into the show, but couldn't.
Once the show ended, Jacob bought Jeremy, Lorenzo and Ismail whatever they
wanted to take home. After they got every souvenir they wanted, Jacob took
them to eat before heading home! As soon as they walked into the doors,
Lorenzo and Ismail ran to show their mother everything they got from the
show. Jacob took Jeremy up to his room and played with him until Jeremy
started to draw.
Jacob took that as a sign to leave Jeremy alone and he did. He got up and
walked out to join Dewayne in the room. Just as Jacob walked in, Dewayne
pulled him out of the room and down to the game room. Jeremy followed with
his drawing pad and color pencils.
"Since it is just me and you I want a rematch on Mortal Combat. I know you
are teaching some how and I will figure it out. When I do, I will kick your
ass all over the screen." Dewayne picked up a control and handed it to
Jacob.
"I would like to see you kick my ass. Everyone has tired and they have
failed. I don't cheat; I am just good at this one game."
Jacob sat down on a bean bag in front of the TV and waited for the game to
load. Once it loaded, he picked his favorite player, Blanco, and waited for
Dewayne to pick his player. Once he picked his player, they started
playing. It didn't take long for Jacob to take down Dewayne and kill
him. He went through his three live really fast.
"Let me pick another player that can beat you. I should have never picked
the bad guy because he doesn't really have that many powers. You need to
stop jumping on me and eating me. I can't ever get loose once you start
eating me."
Jacob started to laugh at what Dewayne is saying. "Ok I will promise to
stop eating you in the game if you let me eat all I want tonight." Jacob
looked down at Dewayne's dick and licked his lips. "I want the sausage
between your legs for a snack later tonight."
Dewayne couldn't help but smile at Jacob. He picked his player and they
started to play again and again Jacob kept beating him. Several times
Dewayne got mad and cursed at the TV characters as if it is their fault
that he is losing. Still, Dewayne wouldn't give up; they played game after
game for over two hours.
Both Jacob and Dewayne put their controls down and got up. The smell of the
food being cooked in the kitchen started to move through the air. Jacob
went and signed to Jeremy that dinner is ready. They all walked up to the
kitchen to find the others walking in as well. Not giving a second thought,
everyone sat down and started to dig in.
Jacob kept looking around the table at everyone talking and stuffing their
mouths. He couldn't help but think to himself if this is the right time or
not to talk with everyone about what he has planned for the back
yard. Jacob figured this is the best time as any to talk with them about
what he wants to do.
Breaking everyone out of their conversations, Jacob quieted the room. They
all looked at Jacob as he started to explain what he has planned for the
back yard from the pool being bigger, being heated, all the way to the
weight room. They are liked the idea of the weight room being an addition
to the pool area.
After dinner, Jacob and everyone headed out to the park to play
basketball. Once they chose their teams, the game began. Somewhere towards
the middle, Alex and Matt left the game and sat down on a bench. Jacob
looked over at them a couple of times and noticed that they are having some
kind of disagreement. He figured it's not his business and if they need his
help, they will ask for it.
He stopped paying attention to Alex and Matt and started playing the
game. Although it is cold outside, everyone started to shed their coats
because they started to sweat. By the time they all called it quits; they
worked off their dinner and then some.
The minute that Jacob walked into the house, he ran upstairs to his room
shedding his clothes as he makes his way to the bathroom. Dewayne followed,
picking up Jacob's clothes and throwing them into the hamper. When Dewayne
walked into the bathroom, Jacob already started the water and had stepped
into the shower.
Dewayne pulled off his clothes as fast as he could and jumped into the
shower with Jacob. Of course Jacob didn't object to having Dewayne join
him. The shower started out like a shower should. They helped wash each
others backs and a little more than that. That changed very quickly when
they noticed each others hard dicks leaking pre-cum.
Dewayne was the first one to fall to his knees. He took Jacob's hard dick
into his mouth and started to suck on it. Jacob fell back against the wall
of the shower and started to moan. He started to move his hands all over
his chest as Dewayne sucked on his dick. Jacob opened his eyes as he pulled
Dewayne off of his dick.
"The deal was is that I was going to eat sausage tonight, not you." Jacob
wrapped his hand around Dewayne's dick and pulled it a couple of
times. "Not only do I not want this sausage in my mouth, but I want the
creamy filling it has inside of it."
Not giving Dewayne a chance to respond, Jacob quickly moved Dewayne around
where his back is now against the wall. He fell to his knees and just as
fast as Dewayne took Jacob's dick into his mouth, Jacob started to service
Dewayne. Dewayne fell against the wall as his legs gave way and he started
to slide down.
Jacob slid down with Dewayne not wanting to let Dewayne's dick slip out of
his mouth. Just as Dewayne butt hit the shower floor, Jacob reached behind
him and turned off the water. He looked up to Dewayne with a big grin on
his face.
"We need to conserve water!" Jacob laughed a little as he took Dewayne's
dick back into his mouth.
Dewayne wrapped his hands around the back of Jacob's head, spread his legs
as wide as he could as he sat back to enjoy the pleasure Jacob is giving
him. He started to moan a little louder, but not enough for others to hear
him.
As Jacob sucked on Dewayne's dick, he started to stick his finger into
Dewayne's butt. One finger first, then two and before Dewayne knew it,
Jacob has three fingers finger fucking him. That's making Dewayne go even
crazier than just getting a blow job.
When Jacob opened his eyes, he noticed Dewayne's nuts very close to his
body. He glanced down at Dewayne's feet to see his toes in curled up. Jacob
knows he is getting close on getting what he wants, and then it
happened. Dewayne started to shoot into Jacob's mouth. Shot after hot
creamy cum shot hit the back of Jacob's mouth. Jacob swallowed every bit of
the cum that Dewayne shot out.
Jacob let Dewayne's dick slip out of his mouth once he sucked Dewayne
dry. He sat on his butt between Dewayne's legs and relaxed his back against
Dewayne's chest. He looked over to Dewayne as Dewayne leaned in to kiss
Jacob.
He didn't even notice when Dewayne reached around their bodies. Jacob felt
Dewayne's hand wrapping around his cock before he saw Dewayne's hands. They
didn't even break the kiss when Dewayne started to jerk Jacob off. Jacob
held the kiss even when he started to moan into Dewayne's mouth.
A few more strokes of Jacob's dick is all it took before he started to
shoot his cum all over his chest. Jacob reached up and pulled Dewayne more
into him as they kissed. At this point, Dewayne's tongue can touch the back
of Jacob's throat. That is how much Jacob is pushing their faces into each
other.
Even after Jacob shot all his cum, Dewayne didn't let go of Jacob's
dick. This drives Jacob up the wall because he is so sensitive. When
Dewayne finally let go of Jacob's dick, he turned on the water, but neither
of them got up from the floor of the shower. They sat there as the water
cascaded across their bodies. Eventually they got up and cleaned each other
up, but they didn't want this to end.
After finishing up with their showers, they dried off. Jacob ran out of the
bathroom, with his dick swinging in the air, over to the bed. Dewayne
jumped into the bed right after Jacob crawled in. They both got under the
blanket and cuddled up against each other to get warm again.
Just like so many other nights before, they fell asleep in each other's
arms. Sometime in the night, Dewayne got up and hooked up the machine
before falling asleep again. Neither of them woke up again until the next
morning when the alarm went off.
Jacob's Monday ran just like every other Monday. He got up, got ready for
school, ate and ate again at school before heading over to the ROTC
building. Nothing there changed either, he worked on the newsletter and
making sure everything is ready for their first uniform day
tomorrow. Leaving orders to all his company commanders that they need to
make sure all new cadets have their uniform and is ready for their first
inspection.
During lunch, Jacob started to feel bad that he and Dewayne can't sit down
and eat together. Still he understands why they can't eat together because
of the rush they are having again. Jacob felt at least he could see his
boyfriend behind the counter, in his uniform, fitting him just right in all
the right places.
Al walked over to the courthouse since his office is only a few blocks
away. After getting through the metal detectors, Al walked over to the
elevators. He got off on the fourth floor and walked over to family
court. As he walked in, he spotted one of his attorneys sitting waiting for
him. Al walked over and sat next to his attorney.
"Mr. Serna, it's good to see you in good health. It looks like we are both
early for our court date. I just finished lunch, so I figured instead of
going back to the office; I should just come straight down here. What is
your excuse for arriving early?"
"Nerves I guess, just nerves that's all! How does it look in your opinion,
will the judge rule in my favor or do I have a long court battle ahead of
me?"
"By the looks of it, the judge is going to rule in your favor. No one is
objecting on the motion that we are filing today for you to adopt Toni. In
fact I think the court really likes the idea on getting this young man out
of the system before he drowns in it. Far too many times young kids like
this get lost in the system and never get heard from again."
"Good, that really sounds good to me. I couldn't sleep well at all last
night. So many things are going on that my head is going in all different
directions. I have things popping up on me that I thought I would never
have to deal with again."
"I know you bought a lot of land, an office building, a vacant factory and
a couple other things. I thought you had all that planned for a while. What
is going on that has you feeling this way? Maybe we can help get some of
the burden off of you."
"No this burden you guys can't help me with. You know that my grandson went
through a really bad breakup before Thanksgiving?" The attorney nodded his
head in the positive to Al's question. "Well once his ex left, I thought we
would never hear from him again. If we did, I would be able to tell him
where to stick it. But I didn't when the phone rang.
Yesterday I met up with a judge from Alamogordo who says he is my
grandson's ex attorney and he needs to talk with me. So I listened to him
and felt bad about what he is telling me on what is going. I know if Jacob
took the call, he would have set his differences aside and helped out his
ex.
Anyways I agreed to sign onto being his power of attorney. I met the judge
and signed the paperwork. That I don't care about, but his mother and uncle
I do. It really looks like they are becoming a problem for Joey. I might
actually get pulled into this mess when I thought that I will never deal
with anything with Joey again."
"If shit hits the fan, call on us and we will see what we can do to help
out. By the looks of it, the young man is just taking needed steps to
protect what is his. Don't worry yourself over something that is not going
wrong right now."
Just then the judge took his seat and started to hear his afternoon
cases. Al is the third one up and he just sat waiting to be called. As soon
as his case got called, he and his attorney got up and walked in front of
the judge.
The Assistant District Attorney pulled her file and handed some forms to
Al's attorney. They both walked up to the judge and spoke with him for a
few minutes before stepping back. The judge looked through the file one
last time before he spoke.
"I like it when I get a case like this. Both sides are in agreement and
there is no arguing over what to do with the minor child in question. Since
there are no objections on Alfred Serna adopting Tony Llamas, I hereby
grant the adoption."
The judge signed a couple of forms and handed it to the DA. The DA walked
the forms over to Al and his attorney for them to sign. Once they signed
everywhere they needed to, the forms got handed back to the judge.
"Okay then, Mr. Serna you are now responsible for the well being of the
minor child Tony Llamas from this date forward. You understand what you are
agreeing to and no one is forcing to do this. I also see that you turned
down a monthly check that you have the right to from the State. Is that
correct as well?"
"Yes your honor, I understand my responsibilities to Tony Llamas and no one
has forced me into adopting him. I did turn down the monthly check that the
State offers, because I can take care of Tony without it."
"Would you like Tony to keep his last name that has been given to him at
birth or do you want Tony to take your last name instead, sir?"
"Do I have to give you my answer on that questions today your honor? I
would like to consult with Tony and see what he thinks."
"You can change the last name at anytime. I put it in the file to go ahead
and change the last name if you come in and ask for it. That way you don't
have to wait for another court date on that. For now I will keep his last
name as is.
Other than that I don't see why I should keep you here any longer. Please
hold for a few minutes to get your copies of the adoption. Mr. Serna, thank
you for taking in this young man and adopting him! I wish there were a lot
more like you out there that would do this."
Before Al could say anything to the judge, his next case got called. He
walked back and sat down while his attorney got his copy of the adoption
paperwork. Once he got his copy, Al walked back over to his office with one
less worry on his mind. Now that Tony's adoption is done, he can move onto
other pressing maters.
After school, Jacob decided to go to the office to check in to see if his
grandfather needs any help. Everyone else drove in Tom's car downtown,
except Tony. Tony rode with Jacob to the office because he didn't want to
walk home. He figured he could hang in the waiting room and do his
homework, while he waited for Jacob.
Jacob walked straight to Al's office as soon as he stepped into the
office. When he reached his grandfather's office, he saw that his
grandfather is in a meeting. So he walked over to his office to see if his
grandfather left anything for him to do on his desk.
He found a couple of files with sticky notes attached to them explaining
what needs to be done with the files. The sticky notes instructed Jacob to
sign termination forms on the managers that he let go. He laid the files on
his desk and sat back on his chair. He has never signed these forms
before. He can't help but wonder why his grandfather didn't sign them
instead of him.
Jacob's phone rang and he picked it up to hear his grandfather voice. He is
asking Jacob to come over to his office when Jacob can. Jacob informed his
grandfather that he will be right over. He isn't doing anything right now.
As soon as Jacob hung up the phone, he walked straight down to Al's
office. Before walking in, he knocked on the door and waited for Al to
answer. Al waved Jacob in as he continued his conversation on the
phone. Jacob sat down and waited for his grandfather to get off the phone
and let him know why he needs to speak with him.
"Jacob here is a couple of things I need to go over with you. Let me start
with what we decided on yesterday and that is hiring our own security. I
went out today and hired the guy that will run the department. I don't know
if you know him personally, but I am sure you know of him. I hired Officer
Jackson from the Detention facility where Alex and Matt were locked up
at. Do you have a problem with that hire?"
"No grandpa I don't have a problem with that at all. You know what you want
as far as security so you need to be the one to hire the people to run it."
Jacob tried to get comfortable in the seat.
"Okay then, he stays and we have a very good start there. Now what I am
about to talk with you about may get you mad, but hear me out before you
storm out of my office. I know after hearing everything, you will see
clearly why I did what I did."
Jacob sat there just looking at his grandfather not nodding or saying
anything to him. So Al started to tell Jacob what about the phone call he
got from Harold Evans. Al explained who he is, what he wanted and why he
wanted it. He finished up by letting Jacob know that he met with Mr. Evans,
not Joey yesterday to sign the paperwork.
"As you can see, there is a complete mess over there. I really don't know
what is going on Jacob, but it is bad. Beth is giving Joey a very hard time
to the point he needs to protect himself from her. I know this doesn't
sound like the Beth we know, but what she did moving out in the middle of
the night isn't the Beth we know either. So I can believe this is actually
happening Jacob."
"Look, I understand why you did what you did and I am not mad at all about
that. Although Joey and I are done, that doesn't mean I want harm to come
to Joey. We had many great years together, and who knows, maybe one day we
will become friends. Only time will give us that answer.
If he turns to you for this kind of help or just needs to talk with
you. Please take the call and help him. Don't worry about me or my
feelings. I am finally over him and moving on. Thank you for telling me and
worrying that I might get mad about it."
"I knew you would take the news the way you did. You are wise beyond your
years Jacob. You had to grow up way too fast and I am afraid because of
that you may have lost out of a part of your life you can never
relive. That is why I am asking you to enjoy the rest of this year and next
year like you should. Be a teenager for crying out loud!"
Both Jacob and his grandfather started to laugh. Moments later Jacob got up
to try and leave when his grandfather called him back. Jacob turned around
and sat back down in the seat he was sitting in. Al leaned back in his seat
and just looked out of his office door. Not knowing what his grandfather
his thinking or wanting Jacob just sat there waiting.
"Normally doesn't Tony come down with you after school?"
"Yes his does and he is here in the lobby. Do you need me to go and get him
so you can speak with him about something grandpa?"
Al nodded his head for Jacob to get Tony. After Jacob went out and got
Tony, he walked Tony to his grandfather's office and tried to leave. But
once again Al asked Jacob to not leave and sit in with him and
Tony. Instead of sitting in the chair in front of the desk, Jacob sat on
the couch against the wall.
He sat there listening to his grandfather as he explained to Tony what
happened today in court. Once Al said the words that Tony has been waiting
to hear, he jumped out of his seat and walked around the desk to hug Al. By
the look on Tony's face, he can't believe that Al got the adoption done
this fast. It is normally dragged out over months and months before the
courts even look at the adoption.
Al didn't say anything until Tony sat back down. "Now there is something
you need to decide on without any pressure from me or anyone for that
matter. The courts are giving you the option to either keep your name or
take my last name. Once again that is your decision and you need to take
time to make it.
I don't know if your last name is your real parents' last name, your
adopted parents that brought you up or just one that has been given to
you. The name can mean a lot to you and you are the only one that really
knows why."
"That is an easy one to answer and I can give you the answer right here and
now. My parents made my adopted parents keep my last name the same. They
didn't allow them to give me their last name. Now that your hands aren't
tied with that, I would like to have your last name, not my father's. He
has never been a father to me. I have never seen him and I do not want to
carry his last name."
Al looked at Tony with excitement, but also with some reservations. If Tony
was taken away from his parents because they were locked up, they can't ask
the adopted parents to keep the last name the same. Normally the adopted
parents can change the last name of the child over to theirs, unless there
was a deal prior to the adoption. Al realized even if there was a deal
between Tony's adopted parents and his birth parents he doesn't have to
honor that deal.
"I will get it taken care tomorrow and from here on out you will have my
last name Tony. You are giving something I thought I lost when I lost my
two sons. My blood line is still out there, Jacob here is living proof. But
my last name ended when I lost my two sons. With you taking my last name it
will continue and I thank you for that."
Tony talked with Al for a little while before he left. Al explained to Tony
that he and Jacob need to cover a few topics about the business that will
be boring to him. Tony had no objections; he still has homework to complete
anyways. As soon as Tony left the office, Jacob got up and took a seat back
in the chair.
"I know you aren't thinking this at all, but I want to make it clear before
someone starts whispering into your ears. Even if someone starts whispering
into your ears, I know you won't listen to them. Once people find out that
I adopted Tony, they are going to start to talk. The main topic of their
conversation will be who will take over ownership of the business we are
building once I retire.
As you know right now the way it is set up, we both own fifty percent of
the business. Neither you nor I have controlling interest in this
company. I also have been saying that I want you to go to college, get your
degree and come back to take over the business so I can step away from
it. I still want that to happen and that won't change.
When you are able to take over the business, you will own seventy five
percent of the company and I will take the other twenty five percent to
live on through my retirement years. I have drawn up my Will already and
when I leave this world, the twenty five percent I have will go to you
Jacob. If I leave this world before I retire, the Will clearly states that
you are to have the entire company."
"That has not even crossed my mind and if it did or someone whispered
things in me ear, I would talk with you if it bothered me. Tony for all
intents and purposes is your son now and I will understand if you change
your Will. You will want to make sure he is taken care of when you are
unable to do so."
"This is what I really love about you Jacob and where you get this from I
don't know. I had hoped I instilled those values in your mother, but the
way she has been acting, it doesn't look like I did a good job of
that. Somehow you ended up with the moral compass I tried to give my kids.
Tony has his own money that got left to him when his foster parents passed
away. I will invest that money and create him a little company of his
own. One day his parents will be released from jail and that can cause
problems I don't want you to have. He will be in my Will where I leave him
money as well as you grandmother and so and so on. Don't worry he will be
taken care of just like you when he gets out of college."
Jacob and Al finished up talking about the personal matters before they
headed out to the lobby to get Tony. Al wanted to go out and eat to
celebrate the adoption, but Alex and the others are working until eight. So
they will have to wait until the weekend for the celebration. They just
headed straight home. Tony drove home with Al, leaving Jacob driving home
alone, which didn't bother him.
After dinner, Jacob went up to shine his ROTC brass and shoes for
tomorrow. This is the thing Jacob hates the most about being in ROTC. It
takes hours to shine everything he has and get it back on the uniform
without marking up the uniform in anyway. The main reason why he has to
have it right where it is supposed to be is because Major Moore actually
takes out a ruler and measures everything. It can't be off or they will get
gigged on it.
"I have only seen you once in uniform and when I say you look handsome in
it, I am not giving you justice. I never knew how much work goes into
getting ready to wear your uniform. I used to see you in greens running
around and I made fun of them. Now I wish I never did that after seeing
this."
Dewayne walked in and over to Jacob. Before Jacob could stand up straight,
Dewayne wrapped his arms around him. Jacob turned his face right when
Dewayne leaned in to peck him on the lips. In return, Dewayne didn't kiss
Jacob on the lips, but on his hair line instead, causing them to both laugh
at the goof.
"You know I used to think all jocks were dumb until I joined the track
team. Still even after that I thought the football and basketball jocks are
dumb. Really any jock involved in a sport like you like, but then I met
you. Now I believe not only you guys are very handsome, but smart as
well. I am very lucky because I got the most handsome jock there has ever
played..."
Before Jacob could complete his sentence, Dewayne leaned in and got Jacob's
lips this time. Jacob dropped the towel in his hand and wrapped his arms
around Dewayne's butt and started to squeeze Dewayne's butt cheeks.
Dewayne made sure to wake up the next morning when Jacob got up so where he
can watch him get into uniform. All he dreamed about through the night is
the first night that Jacob and he spent time together and man those dreams
were good. Dewayne knows that he had to be hard all night long because of
the stains in his underwear.
He remembered Jacob picking him up in uniform because of the drill meet he
had to attend that evening in uniform. They lucked out and were able to be
with each other all evening long. Dewayne couldn't keep his eyes off of
Jacob that night and he still, to this day can't keep his eyes off of his
boyfriend. Dewayne knows that he will ever get tired of looking at his
boyfriend everyday of their lives.
Jacob walked out of the bathroom fully dressed in his uniform except the
jacket. He saw Dewayne awake just looking at him as he got dressed. Once
Jacob put on his shoes, he walked over to the bed and sat down. He leaned
in and started to kiss Dewayne.
"You make me feel like the only person alive Dewayne. I have never been
treated this way in my life and I love it! I love you so much; I can't tell
you that enough. That old saying that God works in mysterious ways I
believe now. I met you when I needed a strong person like you in my life."
Dewayne didn't say a word; he just pulled Jacob back into him for a
kiss. They broke the kiss so they could go down for breakfast. Dewayne
jumped out of bed and put on some running pants and a t-shirt and walked
down with Jacob. As they sat down to eat, Alex and Matt walked in with
their uniforms on.
Everyone looked at them as they took a seat. "I know it looks weird us
being in these uniforms, but we have no choice. I really feel weird and
hope what I did to those kids in uniform won't come back to haunt me
today." Alex pulled at his collar, trying to loosen it.
"Hey Jacob when you started to hang, your uniform was not that plain. Did
you start out the same way with nothing really on your uniform? If so, how
long did it take to get everything you have on yours?" Jacob looked up to
Tom as he pointed to Alex and Matt.
"We all start out with nothing on our uniform. No one walks in and is given
a medal, ribbon or rank unless they earn it. So yes I started out with just
the private ranks on my arm just like them. Trust me that won't last for
long, maybe a couple of uniform days. They will get promoted very quickly
through the ranks because we need leaders."
Before anyone else could say anything, Lorenzo and Ismail walked in. They
ran up to Alex and Matt to see how they looked in uniform. They gave their
thumbs up to their big brother and his boyfriend before sitting down to
eat.
"Jacob we need your help on these stupid things." Matt pointed to the brass
on his uniform and his hat. "We tried to follow the diagram that was given
to us, but we got confused. Can we take a look at yours and see if we got
them on right?"
"Yeah you can, but mine have different things around them. For example the
gold star you have above the name tag, I have but I also have a wreath
around it too. My brass on my hat isn't the same as yours, it is my
rank. Why don't I just measure it and straighten them out on your uniform
if needed."
Both Alex and Matt nodded their heads in agreement. Jacob got up and walked
over to get a ruler from the drawer. He walked back to Alex first and
corrected what ever needed to be corrected on his uniform. Once he finished
up with Alex, he did the same thing to Matt's uniform. It didn't take that
long for Jacob to fix their uniforms, not much was wrong with them.
As they walked out the door, Jacob pulled off his jacket and put it
on. Alex and Matt just looked at the major difference between their uniform
and Jacob's. Jacob noticed them looking at his jacket and back over to
theirs.
"Look you guys; you will get all these ribbons just going to class. If you
don't believe me, look at all the officers walking around and you will see
they have almost the same ribbons. The few different ribbons and medals we
have you will get if you stay in like I have. I really do believe you guys
can surpass me without a problem in your own time."
They nodded their heads and walked over to the truck. Jacob turned to kiss
Dewayne at the front door. He didn't want Dewayne to walk out because it is
cold and he is barefoot. They broke the kiss and Dewayne held on to Jacob
as he tried to walk away.
"Is that true what you told Matt and Alex about the ribbons and medals you
have? If so, that sucks because I always thought you really had to earn
them, not just go to class and sit down. That robs those that really take
that class seriously."
"That's cute handsome that you are thinking that way. Some of the ribbons
they will get for just being in the program and going through the
inspections. The DAI inspection you get a ribbon for no matter if you flunk
it, the star every one gets because the unit got it as a whole, SAI ribbon
and so on an so on. The other ribbons you have to earn them and I can go
into detail about them, but I know you don't want to hear that. I just said
it to make Alex and Matt feel a little bit better. I know they don't need
that, but I did it anyways."
Jacob kissed Alex one more time before running out to the truck. As soon as
Jacob finished eating for the second time, he ran over to the ROTC building
for the officers' meeting. He walked into the building to find all the
officers talking in their little groups and as he passed them, they stopped
talking.
He got his instructions on what needs to be covered in the meeting from
Major Moore and headed to the front of the classroom. After each member of
the battalion staff went over their part of what needs to be discussed,
Jacob stood back up and covered the couple of topics that he needed to
cover. He noticed as he talked, several of the officers didn't even look at
him.
"By the looks of it you guys don't care what we have to say here this
morning. I have been watching everyone as my staff briefed about what they
needed to and you guys kept talking with each other. Screw this,
ATTENTION!"
All the officers stood up and stood at attention. At this point, Major
Moore and Sergeant Haney walked out of their office to see what's going
on. The large classroom went dead quiet as Jacob just stood there looking
at them.
"When you are in this room and getting briefed by your battalion staff or
higher ranking officers, you will shut up and pay attention. If you refuse
to do that and continue not be the leaders, I won't be afraid to replace
every one of you. So whatever you felt was more important to discuss then
to pay attention to in the briefing, stops now!
You are the officers of this Battalion and are supposed to be setting the
example. As I walked by you guys I heard what you are discussing. What
happened with the XO and or the unarmed drill team commander is none of
your business. So stop talking about it and stop listening to the
rumors. If you pay attention to the rumors, our NCO'S and privates will
listen as well. You are to stop the rumors and if you have a problem with
that or any of your cadets send them my way or to our instructors. We will
set you or them straight."
Major Moore and Sergeant Haney walked back into their office, leaving Jacob
and the battalion staff to deal with the cadet officers. Jacob ordered them
to take their seats and continued briefing them. As soon as he finished he
asked several of the officers that he saw talking through the briefing
about what was said to them in the briefing. They didn't know the answer,
so Jacob gigged them on it after having another officer give the answer.
After letting the officers go, Major Moore called him into his
office. Jacob walked in to find the normal people in their, Moore, Haney,
and Fierro. He walked over and stood in front of Major Moore's desk.
"How you handled the officers about the rumors of the demotions of the XO
and Loraine was done very well. Sometimes you need to grab your officers
attention and show them you are the one running things, not them. You are
catching on very fast on how to deal with you position. I bet you that you
now think differently about the officers you had in the past in this
program."
"No lie I think of them differently now. I thought they were just plain
jerks that let their rank go to their heads. Now I see if they don't show
they can be an ass, when needed, they will lose control. I know there is a
line not to cross to get your point across. Be stern, but don't degrade
those underneath you or they will fear you, but not respect you. I want
them to follow my instructions because they respect me, not be scared of
me."
"There you go, that is what I have been trying to teach you guys. You did
that perfectly out there when you told them they need to lead and not
follow. Set the example the right way and not to be those to start the
rumors. If they choose to follow and start rumors, you aren't afraid to
demote them since they don't want to lead. Excellent job Jacob, I can't say
much more than that."
Jacob briefed Major Moore on other items before leaving the office. Jacob
and Fierro walked over to the main building together. As Fierro left, Jacob
stood watching him, thinking to himself on how things do change. He doesn't
even know how it happened, but some how he and Fierro have become very good
friends through the year.
All morning Jacob day dreamed about being with Dewayne. This is becoming a
habit and Jacob can't understand why. He never day dreamed about Joey, but
he can't get Dewayne off of his mind. All that Jacob could conclude from
that is that he really does love Dewayne a lot. He can't stand being away
from him for a long period of time.
At lunch Jacob and the guys went down to the Taco Bell and ate
again. Jacob, like the day before and the day before that, didn't pay
attention to the conversation at the table. He can't take his eyes off of
his boyfriend.
He spotted a girl that works the registers, brushing her hand across
Dewayne's butt. The first time Jacob thought it was an accident, but she
kept doing it every time she could without raising any flags that she is
doing this on purpose. Little does she know she is raising a flag with
Jacob because she is messing with his boyfriend.
The fourth time she rubbed her hand across Dewayne's butt, she pinched
it. Dewayne turned and whispered something in her ear. The teenager giggled
and didn't even bother to whisper her response back to Dewayne. She said it
loud enough for anyone in ear shot to hear what she is saying. Jacob and
the others always sit at the table near the counter so they can hear what
she is saying.
"I have met guys that say they are gay, but after going out with me, I turn
them straight. A hunk like you can't be gay and I won't lose you to the
other side. Give me a chance and I will show you what you are missing."
All that Dewayne said is `no' and went back to work. Jacob is steaming mad
and barely keeping his butt in his seat. He kept an eye on the girl to make
sure that she doesn't do anything else to his boyfriend. Jacob got his
opportunity when she asked the manger to go to the bathroom.
Jacob watched her walk out of the back and over to the restrooms. He got up
and started to walk over to the bathroom as well. Chase, David and Tom
tried to stop him, but Jacob refused to listen to them. He shook them off
and walked over to the bathroom and waited at the door of the girl's
restroom.
When she walked out, she ran right into Jacob. "I am going to talk with
you as nicely as I can in order to not cause a scene. You leave Dewayne
alone because he and I are together. If you make anymore remarks like you
did or brush your hand anywhere on Dewayne's body, we won't talk again. I
will have you fired and if you think I can't do that, test me and you will
find out."
As Jacob was speaking him mind, Heather walked up, seemingly headed to the
restroom herself.
"If you don't leave Dewayne alone, Jacob here will be the least of your
worries, sweetie. You will have to be looking over your shoulder, because
you'll have to worry about me and the group of girls that I bring to the
table. I hope you get what I am saying without needing for me to spell out
for you. You look like a very smart girl; move on."
"Thank you Heather, I don't know what I would do if I ever lose him. I am
really in love with him, I thought I could never fall in love with someone
again after Joey left me, but I have." Jacob couldn't hold the tears back
from rolling out of his eyes.
"If that bitch so much as looks at Dewayne in a way I don't like, her ass
is mine. You won't lose Dewayne because he loves you as much as you love
him. I can see it in his eyes whenever he looks at you. You are his world
and he can't be without you anymore than you can't be without him."
As Jacob and Heather talked, Dewayne walked around the corner. He walked up
to Heather and Jacob, and just stood there looking at them. Heather looked
at him and walked off. He grabbed Jacob's hand and walked into the
restroom, locking the door behind them. Dewayne walked over to the sink and
wet paper towels and walked back over to Jacob. He wiped Jacob's face to
make sure no one can tell he was crying.
"I know what happened to you in the past with Joey and things like this
spook you. There is no doubt in my mind or body that I am gay and I love
you and no one else. There is no one on this earth that will be able to
tear me away from you. They will have to kill me first before they can pull
me away from you.
I can't wait to see you walk through the doors in the afternoon, and when
we aren't together, you are the only one on my mind all the time. There is
not a moment in the day I don't think of you. You and I are meant to be
together and there is nothing anyone can do about that Jacob.
Don't you ever worry about a girl like that. If she keeps it up, I will
report her to the manager. If the manager doesn't do anything about it, I
will quit this job and find another. All I want is you and no one else."
Jacob smiled at Dewayne and Dewayne leaned in for a kiss. "I love getting
my afternoon kiss from you Jacob. I have missed this last couple of days. I
will make some excuse every afternoon when you come in at least where we
can sneak off in here and be together for a few minutes."
Jacob kissed Dewayne one last time before they left the restroom. They
walked around to the front where the others are waiting. Dewayne said hi to
everyone before returning back to work. The manager didn't say anything to
Dewayne when he got back on the steam counter. She just smiled at Dewayne
and walked back to her office.
Heather looked at the girl one more time before leaving. The look in
Heather's face said it all and the girl got the message. Heather could see
the fear in her face as she scrambled to find something to do rather than
look at Heather.
No one asked Jacob a thing on the way back to school. They stayed away from
the conversation. They started talking about work tonight and how does Alex
and Matt think they are going to work with the uniforms on.
As soon as they got back to school, Heather made sure that Jacob is okay
before she left. Chase walked with Jacob back to the main building. He
didn't know what to say to Jacob, but he knows that he needs to say
something to him.
"Hey Chase, I have not forgotten what we talked about. I have been keeping
my eye out for a girlfriend for you. I don't want you to have a problem
child on your hands, like your ex. What do you think about Loraine to be
your girlfriend?"
Chase thought that Jacob is serious about his suggestion, but Jacob
couldn't keep himself from laughing. As they reached the double doors to
the school, Jacob cracked up in laughter. Chase started to laugh after he
saw that Jacob is actually kidding.
"There is no way I would even suggest that you to date the woman. I have
finally got her out of my hair in ROTC. There is no way I'd want you to
have that headache. If you were dating her, she would be around my house. I
don't think so. I rather burn the house to ground than have her step a foot
in it."
Jacob kept laughing until they reached their lockers. "I thought you were
kidding, because there is no way I would date that girl. I thought you were
trying to give me a heart attack or something when you mentioned her name."
They closed their lockers and walked to their fourth period class talking
about girls. One thing they both agree on is that they do not want to deal
with any drama. So that is what they will be looking for when they look at
girls.
During ROTC, Jacob was not surprised when Alex and Matt passed their first
inspection without getting gigged on anything. He congratulated them as
they marched back to the building. They couldn't talk in formation, so they
just gave Jacob a thumbs up.
The rest of the afternoon went by fast for Jacob. After his sixth period,
he walked to his locker to get the books he needs for his homework and out
to his truck. He didn't walk fast or run because he isn't in a big hurry to
get home. One of the things he agreed with his grandfather is that he will
only come down to the office every other day and only for a few hours. His
grandfather really means it that he wants Jacob to be a teenager.
Tony jumped in the truck with Jacob and couldn't stop talking about being
part of Jacob's family. He showed Jacob his new signature with his new last
name. Jacob couldn't help but feel happy for Tony. It just radiated off of
Tony and spread to Jacob. He welcomed Tony once again to the family and
started to call him `Uncle Tony'.
"Why are you calling me Uncle Tony Jacob? We are friends, and now family,
but I am not your uncle."
"You know you are so smart, at times it makes you dumb." Jacob laughed a
little. "My grandpa adopted you, making you his son. In return, you are my
uncle and my mother is your sister. That I am sorry for, but it is the
truth. So from now on I am going to call you Uncle Tony because that is
what you are to me."
"Please Jacob don't call me uncle, just Tony. That is how it is on paper,
but I am thirteen and still your friend. That hasn't changed because I am
now your grandfather's son. I love how that sounds so much Jacob, I can't
stop saying it. Ever since I met you, I have dreamed to have a family like
yours, and now I do... except your mother of course!"
Both Jacob and Tony started to laugh this time. Jacob gave Tony pointers on
how to deal with his mother. Once she finds out that her father actually
adopted someone, she will blow her top at first. Jacob kept telling Tony
not to take it personally, it is just the way she is. She will get over it
and take him in as her brother.
Tony felt even better as they drove up to the house. He knows one thing for
sure and that is how to deal with Jacob's mom. If shit hits the fan, Tony
knows he can always turn to Jacob for help whenever he needs it.
Jacob went straight up stairs and got out of his uniform. After he changed,
he pulled out his books to get his homework done. He didn't even hear
Dewayne walk into the room. He looked up to see Dewayne walking over to him
with a very small fury thing is his hand. Jacob kept looking at Dewayne's
hands to figure out what he has, but couldn't.
"The other day you told me that you wanted a dog. I figured we should start
out with an inside dog first and then move from there. After work today I
went by the pet shelter to just look, but this little girl was all alone in
her cage." Dewayne handed Jacob a fur ball that is shaking and can fit in
his pocket.
"She is a miniature poodle and won't grow much bigger than she is right
now. She is the smallest bread of poodle that is out there. I think you
will like her and I know I do. We just have to be careful where we walk for
while. We don't want to step on her."
Jacob started to pet the little dog and put her on the bed. She started to
walk around smelling everything she can. Jacob looked at Dewayne and pulled
him down to him. He kissed him a couple times on the lips before speaking.
"Thank you Dewayne! I didn't know if you wanted a dog or not. She is a good
start for us as far as our first dog. I want you to want her as much as I
do because you want to, not because I want it. We are couple, like a
married couple, and we need to make decisions together that we both agree
on."
"I want whatever makes you happy Jacob. I have no problem with having a
dog. If we ever come across a subject I am against, we will talk about it
and find a middle ground. The dog isn't a problem with me at all. You want
one so you should have one."
Jacob pulled Dewayne into him, holding him as tight as he could. Jacob kept
saying sorry over and over again for acting the way he did at lunch, but
Dewayne kept telling him it wasn't his fault. He kept telling Jacob that
there is nothing he can do that will run him off. Their hug turned into a
very long kiss.
TO BE CONTINUED...
WRITER'S CORNER:
{What an emotional chapter this one was. I know it isn't as emotional as
chapters I have written in the past, but it was emotional. A lot happened
in this chapter and we saw some plots finally come to a close that has been
out there in the wind.
Tony is now part of Jacob's family because Al adopted him legally. Just
like Jacob said at the end of this chapter, Gloria isn't going to take the
news very well at first. I wonder how she is going to react to the news. Do
you guys think she is going to throw a fit? Or do you think she will accept
it and move on?
We finally got to see Jeremy again. It has been a while since I wrote him
into the chapter. He has been there in the background, but nothing written
about him. Remember that Jeremy is mentally handicapped and that is the
reason Jacob does what he does for him. People like my brother need a lot
of attention and basically let them win the games that are played. My real
brother is in his late thirties and still needs someone to watch over him
twenty four hours a day seven days a week.
I debated with myself in this chapter on making the love scene with Tom and
David or Jacob and Dewayne. It is a very small love scene, but I decided on
the latter. I plan to bring David and Tom back in fully in the next
chapter, so don't give up on them yet.
In this chapter I finally also brought in Chase again. I have been trying
to figure out a way to get him back into the story, but decided on just
writing him in. I really don't think he will accept money from Jacob to go
to college. Jacob is going to have to figure out another way to get it done
where he can get Chase into college. Knowing Jacob, he will figure out
another way that Chase won't figure out it was him that's paying for the
college.
We also have another plot open in this chapter between Jacob and
Chase. Some may not agree with me on this, but a gay guy can be a great
friend to a straight guy. He can help a straight guy out in so many
ways. Let's hope that Chase and Jacob work together on getting Chase a new
girlfriend, he needs one.
Al talked with Jacob about what is in the future as far as the company is
concerned. Just like Al said, Jacob was not thinking anything bad when he
informed Jacob about the adoption. Still he let Jacob know that nothing is
going to change as far as the company is concerned. You can take Al's word
on that.
Do any of you blame Jacob for the way he reacted toward that girl and what
she was doing and said? I don't, but I am Jacob and I am biased on that. It
is very hard for a person to see that happen in front of him after losing a
boyfriend the same way. Remember that Joey said the reason he is leaving is
because he wants to make sure he's not gay. Jacob just had a flash back to
that can't bare even thinking of losing Dewayne the same way.
Dewayne, once again, proved to Jacob and everyone else that he is not like
Joey at all. He made it clear to Jacob that he knows that he is gay and
that won't change. He also made it clear to Jacob that the only way he is
leaving Jacob's side is by death. Other than that, Dewayne will be at
Jacob's side for good.
As always I can go on and on about the open plots in the story! If I do
that, I can actually write several more chapters. There are so many plots
that can take a turn at anytime. You might think it is going to go one way,
but is ends up going another. Do not miss out on anything, or you will be
kicking yourself for it.
I keep saying over and over again don't forget about Chase. He will be
spending time between two of my stories. I am giving that away, but look
for him in "Beneath the Mask". He is going to come back full and what is
happening in his life will stun you.
There is a so much to answer in the chapters to come. Stick around and keep
reading the future chapters, and enjoy! Please email me and let me know how
I am doing at jacobmillertex@aol.com, Thanks!}
EDITOR'S CORNER:
Well, we sure know Jacob's friends are fiercely protective of him. We see
Heather step up to the plate this time in a very no-nonsense fashion. Jacob
was more than willing and very ready to defend his rights with Dewayne
against the female intruder, but Heather stepping in made it solid. I
suspect that the brazen hussy of a girl is firmly in focus with
reality. Dewayne won't have to endure any more sexual harassment, I'm
betting.
Jacob was certainly entitled to have a negative reaction to the boy/girl
interaction that was going on and to deal with it. He, however, needs to
not just know, but BELIEVE in Dewayne's love and commitment to him and the
relationship. The past (Joey) is in the past. It is patently unfair to
Dewayne to live in the dark shadow Joey cast over Jacob. Jacob needs to
realize that Dewayne is a totally different person and to trust him
completely if the love is to grow. Jacob did what he needed to do to
address the situation, but he should NEVER allow such a flirtation to get
to him emotionally like he did.
Chase shows a good moral and ethical center not wanting to allow Jacob to
fund his college. Jacob realizes that Chase is going to have to come away
from whatever the situation is with a college education and with his
dignity and integrity still intact. Jacob wants to do this for Chase; to
share some of his good fortune, but it can't be at the expense of Chase's
self esteem. If Jacob were to ask me, I would suggest that he put $100K
into a scholarship fund that would then, via a third party, distribute the
scholarship to Chase with realistic qualifications and conditions. Jacob
could then "be surprised" when an astonished Chase tells him the news.
Tony got his heart's desire when Al adopted him. He felt like he belonged
in the family, but now it is underscored with being legal and official. He
realizes his future just brightened considerably but probably has no clue
just how much so as yet.
And, more about Tony's adoption; my bet is that Gloria is going to totally
blow a fuse! She's going to sense half of her inheritance going away. Jacob
was quite astute observing that Tony is now a brother to Gloria in the eyes
of the law. Let's hope that Andy Sr. will jump in fast when Gloria starts
to explode and deal with her swiftly and surely.
I have been wondering when there would be some military discipline and
protocol in play in the ROTC program. From my own experience in a high
school ROTC program, things are pretty lax in Jacob's battalion. Jacob
just figured out how to apply military protocol in a leadership fashion to
accomplish his tasks. Had he done so earlier with Loraine, perhaps things
would have never festered to the degree that they did. Major More and
Sergeant Haney should have been teaching those leadership skills all the
way along.
Ok, I'll quit bending your ears (eyes) and let you wait for the next
installment of this saga!
Be well, be safe and love like there's no tomorrow!
Until next time,
"Daddy" Rick
