				Joey's Tale
				 Chapter 5

I woke up the next day to the beeping of my cell phone. I groggily opened
up my eyes to try and find it. I looked at the screen to read a new
message.

"Good morning babe, would you care for some breakfast?" Dylan texted.

I smiled with both my mouth and my heart. What an awesome way to start the
day. It was only 9 am that Saturday morning and I was already wide awake.

"Hello there big guy, sure I'd love to. At what time do you want to go?" I
replied.

"As soon as you're ready, I'm outside your door =)"

Oh my God! I looked out my window that faced the street outside my house. I
saw him leaning back against his shiny black convertible. His short brown
hair hidden under a baseball cap, his beautiful eyes under a pair of
incredibly sexy Ray Van sun glasses. He had a tight football jersey that
showed off his body and a pair of worn jeans with holes on the knees. He
waved and flashed me a perfect smile. I hadn't realized he had such an
amazing smile. I waved back and hurriedly went to the bathroom.

I saw my reflection on the mirror and gasped. My hair was a mess, my eyes
looked a bit puffy because I just woke up and my face a bit bloated. I
jumped in the shower for a second. I put on my usual 1 minute treatment on
my long hair to make it shine more. I put on some brand new red shorts that
Mary had bought for her but hadn't liked. They were a bit tight at my
crotch but showed off my butt really nice. I put on a white polo and some
flip flops and ran outside my room.

I bumped into my mother in the hallway. She was still in her pajamas and
seemed surprised to see anyone up this early on a Saturday.

"Where are you off to?" she asked as she grabbed me before I ran downstairs
and pulled me into a hug.

"I'm going to go to get some breakfast" I said as I gently pulled away.

"With whom?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"With a boy from school. I really like him mom, he took me out on a date
yesterday." And he kissed me and it was the most incredible feeling ever, I
wanted to say but held myself.

She smiled and hugged me again, planting a kiss on my cheek. "I'm really
happy for you, and I will have to meet this boy then. What is his name?"

"Dylan Vaught, he's a year older than me and goes to my high school." I
said as I started down the stairs and started to open the door. My mom had
grabbed a robe and stood at the door as Dylan approached.

"Hello Miss Weaver. My name is Dylan" He said as he shook her hand.

"Please, call me Laura. You two have fun, and drive safely. Dylan please
have him home for lunch, you're welcome to join us if you want." She said
warmly.

We walked up to his car and he opened the door for me. As we drove I had
his big manly hand in mine and kept tracing the lines with my finger.

"I really like your hands" I said out of the blue. "They are so much bigger
than mine"

"I like how yours fits into mine" He said as he squeezed my hand.

We got to a diner and walked in to be greeted by a very cheerful
waitress. She was very pretty with big blue eyes and blond hair. Your
typical girl next door. Her name tag read Karen. She was really friendly to
us, or at least that's what I thought at first, but then I noticed she was
being really nice to Dylan.

When she brought our drinks she brushed his arm and giggled as she
left. She reached over the table twice to clean up, clearly showing off her
boobs to him. I blushed in jealousy but I didn't want Dylan to notice.

"Is everything okay, Joey? You seem a bit distracted." He asked with a soft
smile.

"Oh, no, it's nothing. I was just a bit sleepy still." I lied.

Karen came with our orders and she winked at Dylan as she pushed his plate
at him, touching him gently.

"Oh my gosh! You have really nice hands!" she said excitedly.

I felt loathing in my heart towards her. Stay away you stupid blonde! He's
mine! Well, he's not mine yet. I don't know where we are right now. What
if he's not as into me as I'm into him? I was awakened from this daydream
by a laugh. I looked up to Dylan and he was laughing at me! I did not get
the joke but I did not appreciate it being laughed at.

"What?" I asked annoyed.

"You are the cutest thing when you're jealous." He said simply and took my
hand in his.

"I'm not jealous!" I snapped quickly, blushing even more than I already
had. This caused him to laugh even more and squeeze my hand tighter.

"I love that you are, babe. To be honest, I'm a very jealous person with
the people I like. Actually, I wanted to ask you what the deal with Alex
was. I know he's your best friend, and I really like him too, but he seems
to act weirdly around you." He said. I felt such a relief inside me. Not
only did he love the fact that I hated the waitress for flirting with him,
but he felt jealous about me. He cared about me the same way I did about
him.

I felt it necessary to tell him everything that's been going on lately with
Alex and his weird, mysterious notes. He told me that he felt Alex had a
crush on me and I should be careful not to hurt him. Dylan was THAT
amazing. He cared about everyone's feelings and about making sure that our
group of friends was not separated somehow.

As Dylan paid for our meal and refused to let me pay part of it, Karen
returned to gather the check. Just as she arrived I took Dylan's hand and
softly planted kissed over his knuckles.

"I love your big hands baby." I said in a seductive voice. The waitress
just stared shockingly at me and left without saying a word.

We laughed as we left hand in hand. As we got to the car I turned around
and faced him with my back against the car door. He looked into my eyes and
just sighed.

"I'm so happy I met you Joey" he said, his beautiful grey eyes looking
dreamily over my intense browns.

"I could just stare at you for an eternity and never stop finding new
beautiful things in your face, your eyes, and your incredible hair." He
said as he gently brushed his fingers through my long hair.

This is what true happiness feels like, I thought at the time. My heart
felt like it could've burst with so much joy.

I slowly brought my hand up to his face and started to touch it ever so
gently. My fingers softly traced his eyebrows, the brick of his nose and
outlined his lips. He pushed his lips against my finger and kissed it
gently. I took his face with both my hands and brought it over to mine. I
kissed him slowly, gently, sensually. Taking my time to enjoy each
sensation. I had never, in my young life, experienced such a beautiful
moment with someone else.

We softly broke the kiss and he just held me gently as I rested my head
against his strong chest. I closed my eyes and listened to his heart
beating with a constant rhythm. I loved the feeling of his body tightly
wrapped around mine, covering me gently with his warm and strong limbs.

When we arrived back home he nervously opened the door for me and walked up
to the door with me. He was visibly nervous about eating lunch with my
family. We were greeted by a cheerful Mary and Steve, I was glad my
sister's boyfriend had come because I loved him like an older brother, but
I knew he was very protective of me and my sister. He greeted Dylan
innocently enough and even smiled at him, but I sensed he was checking him
over, as if he could notice if he was a good match for me in the way he was
dressed.

Lunch was going smoothly; we actually were starting to have a good
time. Mom seemed to be enjoying the sight of both her children being so
happy.

All of a sudden Steve asked Dylan, "So tell us, what are your intentions
with Joey?"

I nearly choked on the chicken salad I was having. I gave Steve the
nastiest of looks but he just winked at me and turned to look a Dylan
straight in the eye.

"I intend to make him as happy as he always makes me, respect him always
and protect him from whatever dangers he may come across with." Dylan
answered calmly.

"Does your family know that you are gay?" Steve asked dead serious.

"Yes, they've known for a couple of years now." Dylan answered truthfully.

"Do they know you have a boyfriend?" He asked. I felt my stomach tie itself
in a painful knot. On one hand I wanted to throw something at Steve for
asking that, but on the other hand I really wanted to see how Dylan would
react.

"They do, and actually, they really want to meet him and told me to invite
him over for dinner sometime next week." He looked at me "I'm sorry I
hadn't said anything, I just wanted to make sure we were both on the same
page."

"Could we be excused?" I asked my mom. She nodded and started to put the
stuff away from the table. Mary and Steve helped out as we headed outside
to the pool area.

We sat on the reclining chairs facing each other. He took my hand in his,
and said.

"Joey, I know this is a bit prompt, we've only gone out for a couple of
days but I want you to know that you've made me happier than I have ever
remembered being. Every time I see you, my heart rushes and gets excited;
my day instantly becomes the best one yet. I want to share as much time
with you as I can in hopes to someday give back all the good that you give
me just by holding my hand and smiling that beautiful smile of yours." He
said with such an intense look on his grey eyes that made my heart melt at
his words.

"I really have no words to describe how incredible it is to look at your
eyes and realize they are looking back at me with such wonder and care. I
feel like the only and most important person in the world. You are such an
amazing person and I can't describe how afraid I feel, that if I do
something wrong I will lose my chance, my incredibly lucky chance, to get
to know you. To care about you. To get to love you." I said with silent
tears rolling down my face.

He smiled warmly and with his strong hands brushed the tears and held my
face lovingly.

"Joey Weaver, would you grant me the honor of being my boyfriend?" He asked
with his amazingly beautiful eyes locked unto mine, as if nothing else in
this world mattered but him and me, sharing that moment.

"I would love to." I said with a smile so broad I felt my facial muscles
ache as I stretched them. He got up, pulled me with him and lifted me off
the ground. He carried me in the warmest embrace and lovingly whispered
sweet things in my ear. I had found my prince who swept me off my feet. I
silently thanked whoever sent this blessing towards me and prayed to never
take him away.

This is what life is supposed to be like, I thought.

------

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. The dialogues and emotions are based on
another relationship from another time, but I felt they would fit in nicely
in the story and Dylan and Joey. I sure am enjoying writing about young
love, so pure and innocent. I wish I could return to it and, I'm sorry for
sounding a bit like Peter Pan, live there forever. Anyway, I would greatly
appreciate for you guys to comment and give me feedback on what you've read
so far.

Love you and only you,

Joey
