Jumper: We are Real-Chapter two

I invited Reese back into the house. He was shaking a little bit
and I hoped it was more from cold than shock. He was totally dependent on
me to get inside. His knees were quite wobbly. He was actually acting worse
than when Layla found out. Layla kinda stared for awhile then made me jump
her tons of places to prove she wasn't dreaming it or something. It was
exhausting and after about 20 jumps I started missing the silence. I found
him a place on the couch and let him rest while I made hot chocolate. Dad
walked down the stairs tha were in the kitchen and passed the door to the
living room when he stopped, and backtracked to look into the living
room. "Why is there a boy on or couch?" He asked. "What did you do?" he
went on. "errrrrr??.Well he kind saw me jump??.twice" "What!" Dad it was an
accident, but I can fi-" "Quiet!" The pure volume of his voice was enough
to shut me up. When I looked at Dad his eyes were closed and I guessed he
was thinking. "You had better make sure that boy stays quiet, because I do
not feel like moving again." With that he left the room and his words and
his seriousness lingered in my head. I went into the living room and found
reese had fallen asleep in a sitting position on the couch. I went and got
him a blanket and draped it over him. I lit a fire as it was a little
chilly in the living room. I sat there staring at the fire till I fell
asleep??..

I woke to the vibration of my phone in my pocket. I did a quick
scan of my surroundings and felt a familiar body leaning against
mine. Reese must have shifted during the time we were asleep. I didn't move
him as I pulled out my phone. I and had a text from Layla "Where are you?"
I texted her back "Sorry, fell asleep by the fire be over in 20." Then I
texted Claire "What's your address?" "160 Groundwater Lane. Why?" I didn't
reply. Instead I pulled up Google maps and typed in his address. It came up
with a frontal view of a white bigger than average house made. I then
scooped Reese up in my arms and jumped out next to his car. I opened the
door to the backseat and gently laid him down. I then moved up to the
driver's seat where the keys were still in the ignition. I didn't turn the
car on instead I pictured his house and Jumped us and the car onto the
street in front of Reese's house. I then got out of the car and picked
Reese up out of the backseat. I walked to the front door and looked through
the window. I then jumped into the front door entryway. From there I
climbed the stairs and walked into the first room I saw and knew
immediately that it wasn't his. It was a pink room with a queen sized
polkadotted bed. With pictures of famous male stars like David Arhculetta,
the Jonas Brothers, and Justin Bieber. I guessed it was Claire's room and
left the room and went to the next door down the hall. I guessed this
must've been his room but there was really no way to tell. It was very
plain. Painted a dark blue, had black dressers, and a bed with plain white
sheets. Nothing on the walls, and nothing on the door, no pictures no
nothing. It was weird. I layed him in bed and put the keys to his car on
his bedside table.

There was one more thing I needed to do. I fished inside his pocket and
grabbed at the first hard thing. I started to pull it and realized it was
the head of his dick. It was hard so I suspected he was having a sexual
dream. I knew I shouldn't be but I kept feeling it. It must've been at
least Seven inches, and pretty thick, I was starting to get a hard on
myself, when a little voice in the back of my head said to keep a clear
head and get of there. I let go of his penis and continued to fish around
until I found his phone. I thought it would be very hard to put this phone
back in his pants without awakening him so I just decided to take his pants
off altogether. I could see a little bit of his shaft from the hole in is
boxers and it took me a lot of will power to look away. I then focused on
the phone and went to his settings???.

Reese's POV:

I woke up slowly and took in my surroundings. I was in the guest bed room
of my house. I wondered if I had come home and crashed in this room. I
don't really remember how I got home, but I had a very strange dream. I was
driving Sam home when he??teleported somehow. And then we were in his house
and he I overheard A conversation between Sam and a man with a deep serious
voice. Something about not moving, and me keeping the secret. It was all
very blurry. I rubbed the sleep out my eyes and looked for my phone. I
found it sitting next to my keys and my jeans folded neatly on the table. I
checked my phone with no messages or missed calls but just a Neon yellow
message on the front o the screen. Someone changed my banner from "Dancing
makes me an artist" to "Please don't tell." And a phone number. This seemed
to bring back all the memories. The teleporting, the car ride, lunch, and
also Sam telling me he was gay.

I put on my pants and walked down the hall to the next door and went into
my room. I checked my clock and was shocked that it was already 8:00. I
wondered how long I was asleep, and whats going on. I typed in the phone
number and after two rings a familiar voice picked up. "Hello?" "Hey Sam
its Reese." There was a silence. "Hello?" "I'm here" replied Sam "I'm just
leaving Layla's house???." I heard a door shut "What can I help you with?"
"Well I was hoping you could explain what has happened today?" "Well let me
think???ummmm you went to school, you met Layla and me, she stalked you a
little bit?.." "After that!" I said with unintended frustration "nothing
really" "OH, so the whole teleportation, secrecy and gay thing is nothing?"
There was a moment of awkward silence before he replied. "Oh that, Well
this might be better if I explained it in person, one sec I'll be right
over." Okay I got up off my bed to meet him at the door. "One more thing,
you brought me home right?" "yeah" he replied. "Well then can you explain
to me why my pants were off?" There was a quiet chuckle before he hung up.

I had waited for about a minute before a voice from behind me said "What
are you doing down there?" I spun from the doorway, at the top of the
stairs stood Sam. "Well I figured you would use the door?.." I was halfway
up the stairs now. "I can use the door if you want." "No its-" My words
were cut off by the realization that he was no longer standing at the top
of the steps. I was confused for a second and was interrupted by the door
bell ringing. With a sigh I walked down the steps and answered the
door. There stood Sam?.Again. "That was unnecessary." He cocked his
head. "There's just no pleasing you" He said in a mock tone. He walked into
the house and followed me into the living room. On the couch was Claire
fast asleep. "Hold on one sec, let me get her upstairs." He held a hand to
my chest and held me to where I stood. "No worries I got her." He walked
over to where Claire was sleeping and scooped her up gently into his
arms. He then glanced at me and was gone. I sat there astonished until he
came back about ten seconds later. It was weird, watching him pick her up
so gently sparked a weird emotion in him. It was something he had never
felt towards another man. Attraction.

"So what do you want to know?" He asked for plopping onto the couch. I took
a seat in my Dad's favorite LaZboy "Who are you?" "I'm Sam Greene." "You
know what I meant." He pretended like he didn't hear me. "What are you?" he
sighed "I don't really want to repeat it." "Please I want to know." I
begged. He blushed "Gay." I then felt very angry which I suppressed with a
couple calming breaths. I kept my eyes closed as I said "This will not work
unless you take this seriously." And in a less agitated tone "Please, just
give me some answers." I watched as Sam's whole body relaxed. "My name is
Sam Greene son of Daniel Greene. That's who I am. I am a teleporter A.K.A
Jumper." This was doing nothing to the curiosity that was eating at
me. "Give me the whole story from the beginning, and I know theres a story,
I heard you and your dad talking." He just stared at me for a second, and I
looked into his green eyes, and saw the fear to trust. "I won't tell
anyone." "Pinky promise?" Sam said with a pinky outstretched. I looked at
him and almost laughed. "Are you serious?" He was. I sighed "Yes I pinky
promise."

"You know my dad wasn't always that serious. I can only remember one memory
of before though. It was us. He was trying to calm me down after I stubbed
my toe. I was crying so hard, and you know what he said to me? He said
"Don't worry, It'll be better before your married." I couldn't picture the
voice I heard at Sam's using that tone of voice or even using that
tone. Sam went on. "My dad enlisted in the army before I was born, and
before the war.He was chosen for some experiments out of 200 qualified
men. He and nine other guys made it. 3 including my dad survived. The
government was trying to create soldiers that could go out onto the
battlefield and retrieve injured soldiers without getting hurt. And after a
year of research they created a gene, that they injected into my Father's
DNA system that allowed him to teleport. A year and a half later, I was
born. I was born with the artificial gene that they had injected in my
dad. My dad was shipped out when I was 6. He came back a year later in a
huge hurry. I heard him telling my mom he had left the army without
permission, and now he was being hunted. He said that he had no
choice. That the jumpers use had turned from saving people to killing
people." I gasped I hadn't noticed but somewhere in the story I had moved
from the LaZboy to the couch, and I was turned facing Sam. "My mom was
crying, and she prepared to leave the country. So we left and moved to
Toronto for 9 and a half years. We came back because my grandfather had
died and he left his construction company. So we changed our names and
moved back." I was listening to the story so intently I hadn't realized I
had moved so close to Sam. "Wait, I have just a couple questions" I said
"Why didn't they create new soldiers?" He looked at me for a second then
replied "I'm not really sure but I'm pretty sure my dad said something
about how the life to death ratio was bad, and eventually the program was
just shut down itself." "So if the program is shut down why don't you guys
come out of hiding?" We were really close now, I could smell his breath
which smelled like mint gum. "The two guys that stayed behind kept in touch
with my dad and kept his secret. They both eventually fled too, but not
before the government tried to take away those guys children and experiment
on them for a safer way to create jumpers." "I don't understand but they
didn't try to take you, so why do you have to worry now that the program is
shut down?" He laughed a little and I caught a huge whiff of his minty
breath. It was arousing me a little. "My dad is afraid." "Of what?" I
asked. "He's afraid that if we they can't creat jumpers, they will just
take us existing jumpers and force us into service." I gasped again. "Don't
worry though, what use would they have with a gay theater boy." I
laughed. "One more thing" I said. "He looked straight into my eyes. "Kiss
me."

Sam's POV:

I jumped back to my house as soon as we broke the kiss. It felt so good,
but I knew it was something impossible. He was supposed to like Layla, and
what if she didn't forgive me if I pursued this. I remember after my dad
came back from the army he did everything possible to prepare me for the
worst case scenario, and he would always say to solve a problem look at the
simple answers, don't make it any more complicated than necessary. All I
had to do was look for the simpler answers, and I knew the simple
answer. Even if I didn't like it. I was going to forget the kiss ever
happened and not get in the way of Layla's and Reese's soon to be
relationship. I needed advice, but I didn't really know anybody who I could
tell that Reese kissed me without them freaking out.

Ten minutes later I was on Google looking for an advice column. Instead, I
found something better, an advice chat room. It opened up and messages were
pouring in causing the list to keep growing. I decided not to look for
someone to take my advice but see who would take me. I typed in my
problem. "I like a straight guy who kissed me but is in a supposed
relationship with my best friend what do I do?" A minute went by and still
no reply. I was about to press back and look for other results when a
message came up. It was from someone named misery man. The message said
"Hi, I understand you need help with something." I was quick to reply "Yes
I'm a junior in high school, and gay." I saw the message at the bottom of
the screen telling me he was typing. "And the plot thickens! HA!" he
said. I was confused, so I asked him "What do you mean?" the typing message
came up again. "I just didn't know you were a boy too, I thought this was
girl drama, but I can handle this too." I was a little unsure, but what
have I got to lose. So I told him everything, but left out all the jumper
parts which left out a huge part of the story. So I changed the story from
him being shocked that I was a jumper, and changed it to he was shocked
about me being gay. The typing message was up for awhile before the message
appeared. "From what can tell from what you've told me. This guy is
probably gay or bi, but he doesn't know it because he never examined those
feelings. So he thought the feelings he felt toward women were the normal
ones you're supposed to have towards someone you find attractive." I
decided not to navigate away from the page, because in a twisted way it
made sense. "He doesn't know if he would rather be gay and have you, or
would he rather continue fooling himself. Some people would rather continue
to fit the image of what people consider cool and normal then be what makes
them happy. There's usually a reason though, like they are afraid of losing
someone they care about because of this, or afraid of hurting someone."
This made a lot of sense. "Thank you" I said. I was about to click out when
I saw the typing message again. "Here is my email if in need of any more
advice." I wrote down the email and wrote a quick reply. "Thank you, but
I'm hoping my life will remain simple enough that I don't get use of it."
The typing message came up again. "Simplicity can be a weapon. It does not
always mean things will be easy." I exited out of the browser.

The next morning I woke up and got ready for school. I still had to jump
over to Layla's house to pick her up for school. I jumped it into Layla's
room as she was changing into her clothes. This has happened many
times. Layla knows that I have no real interest in women and so she didn't
mind. "Good morning." Layla said as she picked up her Messenger
bag/Back-pack. We walked down stairs into the Kitchen where Layla's mom had
laid out a plate with waffles on it. "Good morning Mrs. Valdez." I
announced when she had her back turned. She turned her slightly and looked
at me out of the corner of her eye. "Oh hello Sam, I didn't hear you come
in." Layla sat down and ate her waffles while me and Mrs. Valdez talked
about her job and Mr. Valdez. She actually made me a cup of coffee which I
thanked her for. "Shouldn't you kids be heading off to the bus stop?" Layla
answered the question for me. "Our bus comes pretty late and gets us to
school pretty fast, basically teleports us." I kicked her gently when
Mrs. Valdez's back was turned. Layla laughed and we left.

Today was extremely snowy so I decided to jump us ride outside of school
doors but I guessed no one would notice. We arrived at school petty early
so the halls were almost empty. We were walking towards her locker when
Reese turned the corner and was now heading our way. I stopped and Layla
turned around to see what was wrong. "I can't be here." I said in an urgent
tone. She looked confused but I didn't give her time to reply before I
jumped to my locker a couple halls away. I jumped when Claire appeared
behind my locker door as it jumped. "Morning." Gosh her family was way too
good at getting the best of me. "Ready for first Period?" she
asked. Actually I wasn't. I hadn't done the assigned homework for last
night, but I had more pressing matters on my hand. I walked with Claire to
first period while she talked about how much fun she had yesterday and the
dress she had gotten for the dance. I was too caught up with all the stuff
I had to figure out. I honestly listened in on none of my classes and
welcome the relief the lunch bell brought me. I saw Layla sitting at
Reese's table again, and he looked completely normal, like he had forgot
about the kiss already. I went and sat at the table alone again. I welcomed
it. I needed to clear my head. I looked up and saw Reese's eyes on me. I
stared at them for a second before looking away. I got up and threw my
lunch away. I sped walked out of the cafeteria and with a quick glance back
saw Reese getting up from his table. As soon as the doors closed behind me
I jumped. My head was too clouded to jump anywhere important so I jumped to
the nearest bathroom. Thankfully the bathroom was empty. I ran into the
stall and started crying. I must've cried for five minutes and had lost all
hope that Reese was getting up from the table to follow me. Someone had
jogged into the bathroom and stood there. My door was not shut completely
and I saw a familiar eye looking through the crack. Reese opened the door
and slipped in. I was sitting on the toilet seat still crying. He got down
on one knee. "Whats wrong?" He asked in a gentle voice. I looked at him but
didn't answer. He put his hand on my cheek and caressed it lightly. His
hand felt warm but now clammy. I put my hand on top of his. I tried to find
words but the ones that came out seemed way more harsh then I meant
them. "It's like you don't even care." He laughed. "I'm pretending silly,
it's all an act, but you on the other hand looked like a wreck." I smiled
as a tear fell from my eye. "I thought you were an actor" I actually
laughed this time. He then kissed me, but this time it was better, we knew
each other's lips and the passion was free flowing and unrestrained. My
emotions felt so mangled. I was still crying. I felt like such a
backstabber but I also felt like the most loved person in the world by two
people I have really come to care about. "I can't do this to Layla." I
whispered. His hand was still caressing my cheek and now our foreheads were
touching. "No, don't feel bad, this isn't about her." Oh, but it was. I
could've made this complicated, I could've walked back in there and told
Layla about this and watched as the pain in her eyes shone like a star but
the pain on her face was unreadable. I could see it all now, but no that
was too complicated. So I did the dimple thing. I jumped. I was now on a
secluded beach on the west coast. I didn't really know where the beach
was, I had only been there a couple times and for only about 10 minutes. It
was a spot at the bottom of a cliff I went sometimes when I was stressed. I
sat on the sand and let out a very long sigh.

I must've lay there for the rest of the day, because when I checked my
watch it was about 7. I checked my phone and had many worried messages from
Layla and my parents. I replied to my parents. "I'm fine, on the West
coast, be back in a day or two." I knew my parents would be fine with me
skipping school and being on my own for a couple days. With my jumping
abilities I had done it before. So It didn't surprise when the reply was a
simple okay and a request to stay safe. I stood up out of the sand and
brushed myself off. I jumped to the top of the cliff about 75 feet above
me. I looked down the beach and saw a hotel a couple miles down the
beach. I decided to walk the rest of the way to the hotel because I
couldn't find a good place to jump too. It started to rain but I kept on
walking. The road was pretty quiet until an old ford truck passed me. I
looked up and the bright red lights signaling his halt were on. The lights
turned off and the car stated rolling backwards toward me. When the Truck
was right nex to me the window rolled down a bit. "Hey!" the tone of his
voice sounded like he was shouting but it sounded quieter over the roar of
the rain. "Hey!" he said. I still didn't answer. "Can I offer you a ride."
This time I looked up. Partially because of the confusion toward his
kindness, and also because this reminded me of another car run in. I
couldn't get a clear view of the driver. He looked to be around my age if
not older, and in shape, but his face remained a mystery. "Why voice
sounded weaker then I meant it to, but eventually the words came out. "Why
on earth would you offer a wet stranger a ride?" He laughed. "I'm not quite
sure but the longer we wait the more wet you get." I started moving towards
the car but I crashed in a wave of a emotion. I fell to my knees and heard
the car changing gears and a door opening. I felt a pair of strong arms
guiding me to the car. Once we were both in the car and moving down the
road. "Where can I take you?" He asked. We had already passed the hotel so
I just shrugged. "Well I'm down here on vacation so I can't really
recommend a place. "Where exactly are we?" I asked. He cocked his head and
had a look of confusion on his face. "Were in Daytona, Florida?..How can
you not know where you are?" When I didn't say anything he talked again
"Alright I get it, just met, I wouldn't understand" I was about to say
that's not it but he interrupted my thought "but as for a place a stay, I'm
pretty sure there's an extra bed at my place. "Thank you." He nodded his
head and I took it as your welcome. "And if you want to talk, we still have
about a 30 minute drive left. I sighed, but told him my story with the
exception of the jumper parts. When I finished the story he started
laughing. I was kind of angry since I had just told him a really emotional
story and he laughed! "Why are you laughing?" I said in an angry
voice. "It's just so crazy how the one guy I pick up is going to fit in so
well with all of my friends." I was confused "What'd you mean?" I asked
"The group of people I'm staying with is an organization at my school
called the gay-straight alliance." It's a group of people either gay or
straight who support homosexuality." Well that was lucky I though, good
thing I got into the car. I was tempted to ask what he was, but thought
against it. Instead I asked his name, because I had yet to do so. "My name
is Remy." Remy, I liked that name, it was a unique name. I watched Remy
drive and listened to him hum to the quieter sound of the radio. He sounded
really good. "You have a sweet voice" I blurted. I had meant to say it in
my head. He smiled. "Thanks, I've been taking vocal lessons since I was
nine, I've actually always wanted to go to a school to study music, but my
parents said since it was my senior year, I should just stay at the school
I'm at." "Hey I go to a school like that, back in Ohio." He looked at me
like I was telling a bad joke? "You live in Ohio?" I nodded "Because I do
too." He actually went to the public school I would've gone too if I hadn't
gone to a charter school. This was all too much for me, so I just decided
to sleep until we got there, and I fell asleep to the sounds of rain, the
radio, and Remy's beautiful voice humming sweet melodies.

I woke up to a bright light on my face. I was in a bed, in an unfamiliar
room and the light was the sun shining through the shades. I guessed this
was the bed that Remy had told me I could sleep in and that I had slept
through the night. "Good morning sleepy head." I turned and saw Remy
sitting on the twin of my bed, with a book in one hand and a coffee in the
other. "What time is it?" I asked. He looked at the clock on his bedside
table "About 1." I listened for a minute and the house was silent. "Where
is everybody?" I asked. They all went to sleep, I waited up for you." I
don't know why but I blushed, and changed the subject. "What are you
reading?" He tried to hide it but I saw the title before he could hide
it. "A Walk to Remember, I love that book." He smiled and brought the book
back into view "I saw the movie and liked it so I decided to read the
book." In the light from outside I could see tear streaks on his
cheek. "I'm guessing you're at a sad part. He smiled. "I'm at the part
where he finds out about her leukemia" "That part is so sad." I was lost in
thought when I quoted a line from the book "Maybe God has a bigger plan for
me than I had for myself. Like this journey never ends. Like you were sent
to me because I'm sick. To help me through all this. You're my angel." Remy
was looking at me now "Why'd you say that?" I thought about it for a second
before answering. "Because you're like my angel, you saved me yesterday.
You're here for a reason" He smiled but he looked like he was in his own
world. "Alright" he answered while moving onto my bed "I'll be your angel,
but you have to promise me one thing." "Anything." I said smiling. I knew
what he was going to say next. "You have to promise not to fall in love
with me." I laughed we were now very close. "I promise." He was leaning
toward me now. I I closed my eyes and leaned forward too. RING RING RING!
We both jumped, Remy answered his phone. "ALRIGHT!" he yelled into the
phone. He then turned back to me. "Hey that was my friend he said we need
to get down to the beach because were missing a great beach day." I guess
it wasn't meant to be?.yet."
