"Ok I will be right there. Calm down, everything is going to be ok." Sean
said trying to keep calmness in his voice.

"What's wrong? Is everything ok?" Matt said with overwhelming concern.

"That was my mom. She said that my dad was in a car accident. He is in the
hospital right now!" Sean said as tears started to form in his eyes.

"Sean I am SO sorry! Why don't you let me drive to the hospital you are in
no condition to be driving." Matt said pulling Sean in for a hug.


Matt drove as fast as possible to get to the hospital all the while
watching Sean out of the corner of his eyes. Matt put his free hand on
Sean's and gave a light squeeze for comfort.  It was breaking his heart to
see his friend in so much pain. Matt dropped Sean off in front of the
hospital and told him to find his family and that he would go and park the
car. Rushing into the hospital Matt quickly race to find Sean and his
family to be there for them if they need anything even if it was just a
shoulder to cry on.

"Matt you don't have to stay here. You can go back to our house and relax."
Mrs. Thompson said. Sean's mother was one of the nicest woman that Matt had
ever met and she had always looked after Matt whenever his mother had to
leave town or had to work long hours.

"Mrs. Thompson I am not going anywhere. You guys are like my second family
and I want to be here for support and I am worried about Mr. Thompson."
Matt replied to her with a reassuring hug.

Mrs. Thompson managed a small smile and hugged Matt back "Matt how long
have you known us? You can call me Julie and you staying means the world to
us. Especially Sean you guys are so close and I know that he appreciates
you being here."

Matt walked over and sat next to Sean and put his arm around him. "Sean I
am here and if you need anything you know I will do my best to do it for
you." Sean looked up at Matt and began to cry and laid his head on Matt's
shoulder. Matt did not protest and let his friend find comfort in him.

"Sean" Matt shook his friend awake. "The doctor is here to talk to your
family."

After a few seconds of trying to get awake Sean got up and started walking
toward his mother and older sister, Kelly. Looking back at Matt and giving
a look of are you coming too. Matt got up and followed close behind.

"Your husband was very lucky. If the car would have hit even 2 inches
closer to the driver's side he might not have made it. It is going to be a
long road for recovery but it looks like he will pull through fine. He has
a broken arm and some broken ribs along with a concussion." The doctor
explained. "We will keep a close eye on him for the next few days then we
will set him up with some physical therapy once his bones are all healed."

"THANK GOD!" Julie shouted with relief as she began to shed tears of
joy. Matt saw that his friend also had a breath of relief and tears in his
eyes. He pulled Sean in for a half hug and gave him a small smile.

Julie insisted that the boys go home and get a good night's rest. Sean
offered to drive home since he was feeling much better and Matt didn't
argue because he was getting very tired. After arriving at Sean's house
Matt excused himself to the bathroom to get changed into his night outfit
which consisted of a black t-shirt and since it was just the two of them
for the night he just put on his boxers with it.

When he entered Sean's room he saw his friend sitting up on the bed
flipping through the tv stations. When Sean saw Matt come in he patted his
hand to the space beside him and said "Come watch TV with me Matty!" Matt
jumped on the bed and let Sean rest his head on his shoulder and put his
arm around him.

"Can I tell you something Matty"? Sean said with a soft voice.

Matt replied "Of course. You know you can talk to me about anything."

"This is my favorite part about you coming over. Just relaxing and hanging
out with you while watching tv." Sean said with a big smile.

"Same here, buddy." Matt said smiling back at him. After a couple of hours
Matt looked down and saw that Sean had fallen asleep. `Wow! I have never
noticed just how beautiful he really is' Matt thought to himself, after a
few minutes of just admiring Sean sleep Matt also fell asleep.

The next morning Matt woke up first and tried to get out of bed without
waking up Sean but just as he moved Sean's eyes opened and Matt laughed
saying "Morning sleepy head."

Sean smiled "I slept so wonderful last night." After he said it he blushed
and looked away.

"To be honest, me too." Matt replied making Sean blush even more.

In his head he was so conflicted he wanted to just lean down and kiss Sean
but was afraid of ruining the friendship. He was lost deep in thought when
all of the sudden he felt Sean lean up and kiss him on the cheek. This made
the emotions in his body explode and he pulled Sean in for a passionate
kiss. After what seemed like an eternity Sean pulled away and looked up at
Matt.


"Wow!" Sean exhaled. "Matty what does this mean?"

Matt caught his breath and began "We have been friends for years. I never
really thought about it until recently. Last night while you laid in my
arms and I sat staring at you I realized that you were more than my best
friend you are the person that I can honestly say I love." Matt took a
short pause and leaned near Sean's face. "You are the person I want to be
with. I have never thought about dating anyone and now I feel so happy have
found someone that I care so much for. So what I am trying to say is Sean,
would you like to be more than just friends?"

"Oh Matty! You don't know how long I have wanted this to happen. You are
the sweetest guy I have ever met. You have always looked after me." Sean
said with tears in his eyes. Just then Matt leaned all the way in and gave
Sean another kiss that lasted twice as long as the first one.

Suddenly Matt jumped and grabbed Sean's hand and said with excitement "Come
with me there is something I want to do!"

"Ok? But you are kinda scaring me. I mean you and your ideas usually get us
in trouble." Sean said laughing.

"This one won't. I promise. You might want to get dressed into something
nice." Matt said with a grin on his face.

"Keep your eyes closed." Matt told Sean. "Ok but the excitement is killing
me!" Sean said with impatience.

"Ok you can open them now." Matt said. When Sean opened his eyes he gave
Matt a big hug and kiss. They were standing in the park at their usual
place they went to hang out and there was a picnic basket with some flowers
in the middle.

"I really wanted to take you on our first date and I couldn't wait any
longer. I hope you like it." Matt said with a sweet smile.

Sean was speechless and over joyed with what Matt had done for him. This
was perhaps the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for him and he never
thought this could happen to him, true happiness for the first time in his
life. After a wonderful afternoon talking and just being together Sean
asked Matt if they could go to the Hospital to visit his dad.

The rest of vacation went by wonderful. Sean's father was released from the
hospital not long after his crash and was recovering in the comfort of his
home. Matt and Sean spent as much time as they could with each other while
keeping their relationship a secret for the time being.

"It's not that I am ashamed of you." Matt explained. "It is just that I
want to wait to tell my mom. I don't know how she will react."

Sean gave Matt an understanding look and said, "It's ok Matty. You don't
have to explain anything to me. I understand this is hard and I too want to
wait to tell my parents. I want to tell them after my dad is fully healed."

"That is why I love you so much. You have such an amazing heart. Even
before when we were just friends you always cared for me and looked after
me." Matt said with happiness in his eyes.

"Well you have changed me for the better. I have decided that tonight I
will tell my mom." Matt said suddenly. "You are the most amazing boyfriend
anyone could ask for and I want the world to know it and if they can't
handle it then screw them." he said with a laugh.

That night after Matt got home he went to his room and began to think how
he was going to tell his mom. As they sat down for a late dinner because
his was late getting home from work the conversation started in silence but
quickly picked up. "Honey, how was your day and how is Sean's father Jim?"
Emily began.

"It was great, mom, and Jim is doing a lot better they say he can go back
to work in a week." Matt said. He was having a tough time bringing up the
subject. "Mom... there is something I wanted to talk to you about." He
continued with a soft shy voice.

"What dear?" his mother said with concern on her face. "You know I am here
for you always."

Here goes Matt thought I am just going to just say it and get it out of the
way, "Mom... Mom... I am gay!" He said as he looked to the ground. A few
minutes past and he heard his mom get up and walk out of the room. He was
shocked he didn't know what to feel or think. Did she hate him no and why
did she just walk away without saying a word. Matt got up and went to the
door of his moms room and he could hear her cry. She was hurt and he felt
bad but he had to tell her the truth he couldn't keep it a secret anymore
he wanted his mom to know the real him. Feeling horrible Matt went to his
room and jumped in his face and put his face in his pillow and just started
to cry.

An hour passed and Matt heard his door open and saw his mom walk
in. "Sweetie... I am sorry about earlier. I was shocked." His mother
stated. "You are my son. My baby and I am not disappointed in you and I
wasn't upset. The reason I was crying was that I am afraid for you. It is a
hard life and I don't want you getting hurt."

"Mom" Matt said with tears in his eyes. "I will be careful. I was just
afraid that you hated me now." He began to weep again not out of sadness
but relief that his mother still loved him.

"MATT. I will never hate you. No matter what you will always be my baby boy
and I love you with all my heart. The moment you were born I knew you were
special and that you would accomplish so much in your lifetime!" Matt
looked up at her and got up and gave her a big long lasting hug as they
both cried out of happiness.

His mom and him talked for a couple of hours and when she went to bed Matt
called Sean. "Hey babe. I told my mom at dinner." Matt said.

"How did it go?" Sean asked hoping that it went well for his love.

"Well at first she started to cry and I thought she hated me but an hour
later she explained that she was just scared for me and that she loves me
no matter what." Matt told him.

Sean sighed and said, "I hope my parents will react that way. I am so happy
for you Matt!" Sean thought for a moment and then asked "Did you tell your
mom about us?"

"Not yet. I want to invite you over for dinner this weekend and I want to
tell her then." Matt began. "I want you to be there and introduce my
amazing boyfriend to my mom. She loves you already Sean so I don't think
she will have any problem with us."

"Matty I got to admit I am really nervous." Sean said with a giggle. "Your
mom is awesome but I have never done anything like this."


Matt laughed and said, "How do you think I felt when I told her I was
gay. I was just about to throw up I was so nervous and scared but I am so
relaxed to have it over now."  | "Oh Sean it is just a free feeling I have
now. I know you will feel better after you tell your parents." Matt said
with excitement.

Sean thought for a minute and said, "That is if they accept me for who I
am."

"I am here for you always babe. I will stand by your side." Matt said with
a comforting voice.

Thursday at school was an eventful day for Sean and Matt. At lunch they sat
with Amber and they wanted to tell her about them.

"Amber we are going to tell you something but please remained calm and
don't make a scene." Sean said giving her a small grin.

"Are you trying to tell me that I am to emotional." Amber pouted jokingly.
Matt laughed and said. "You said it not use." Leaving Matt and Sean
laughing for a few seconds.

"Whatever losers!" Amber shouted in a humorous pouty voice. "Just get to
the point please!"

Sean looked to Matt and nodded "Well over winter break Sean and I kind of
started dating!" Matt said.

Amber's eyes got real big and her smile was almost frightening "OH MY GOD!"
She started to raise her voice.

"Please Amber!" Sean said. "Keep your voice down!"

Amber smiled and said "I am sorry. This is just so excited you guys are so
cute together and perfect for each other. We have to celebrate!"

"What do you have in mind?" Sean asked her.

Amber thought for a few minutes and replied, "I know. We can go to the city
this weekend and visit my Dad. He has a pool and a game room that he will
let us have a small party." By this time Amber was bubbling with
excitement.

"Well that does sound awesome but we will have to leave on Saturday because
Sean is coming over for dinner Friday and we are going to tell my mom about
use and yes she already knows I am gay." Amber said that was cool and she
would have to get ahold of her dad anyway to get permission and start
planning the events for the weekend.

It was no secret that Sean was smaller than Matt but he was beautiful in
all aspects but unfortunately this caused him to be the blunt of bullying
in the school. Matt had always stuck by his side and defended his friend
but it still was hard on Sean having to deal with that every day. Sean and
Matt parted ways for their last 3 classes of the day. As Sean was walking
he heard a voice that chilled him to the bone.

"Hey Fag!" Yelled Travis the school's star basketball player.

"Please Travis, leave be alone. I didn't do anything to you." Sean said.

Travis gave an evil look and said "You did do something to me. You were
born!" After that Travis pushed Sean against a locker and punched him in
the gut. This was not the first encounter they both had. Travis was
constantly making Sean miserable. When Travis left Sean ran to the bathroom
and threw up from the pain in his gut.

He didn't really feel like going to class after that so he headed to the
nurses' station and said he was sick and asked if they would call his mom
to pick him up. After fifteen minutes Sean's older sister Kelly walked in
and got Sean.


"Where is mom?" Sean asked.

"She went with dad to his doctor's appointment so I came and got you."
Kelly said.

"Thanks sis!" Sean said.

Kelly was watching her brother out of the corner of her eye and then let
out her feelings "Sean you can't keep holding this in all the time. You
need to tell the principle about you being bullied."

"NO way! It would be just worse after that. I would be a snitch!" Sean
protested.

"It's a shame how people are mean just because you are gay." Kelly said
matter of fact way.

Sean looked shocked "How did you know!"

"Come on Sean I am your sister and I love you and I know you better than
you do yourself sometimes and I have known for a long time but thought you
would eventually trust me enough to tell me." Kelly said.

"Kels it wasn't that I didn't trust you. I was just scared and didn't want
you to be disappointed in me." Sean said feeling ashamed for not telling
her sooner.

"It's ok bro!" Kelly interjected. "It is a very personal thing and I
understand that you were scared. You know you can trust me I won't tell
anyone until you are ready."

Sean was so happy to hear this and he was in tears. "Hey, now. No crying
mister!" Kelly said with a smile. "I want to officially meet your boyfriend
now. I mean I know I have already met Matt before but that was as your
friend and I want you to introduce him as your boyfriend."

"Ok Kels you are kind of scaring me how did you know that we were dating?"
Sean said with a freaked out voice.

Kelly started laughing "First you two spend all your time together and
second I saw you guys kissing the other night."

Sean's face blushed and he said "oops better be more careful next time."
Sean sent Matt a text telling him he left early and to call him when he was
done with school. When they got home Sean and Kelly went for a walk to just
talk about things.

"Sean, come in here for a minute." His mother said from her office which
was located on the bottom floor of house.

"What's up mom?" Sean asked.

"Sean I cannot nor will I stand by while you are getting hurt at school. I
met with your principal today after the doctor's." She said with a stern
voice.

"MOM! YOU DIDN'T!" Sean said with shock and fear in his eyes.

"Don't raise your voice at me young man. Your safety comes first." His
mother said with a softer tone. Sean just walked out of the office and went
to his room. `Great' he thought `Now they are really going to give me it.'

That night Matt called Sean and asked him what happened. He was furious at
Travis and wanted to teach him a lesson but Sean said to let it go and
violence is not the answer. Sean told Matt about his mother going to the
school and talking to the principle and that he was worried it was just
going to get worse. After a few hours on the phone they both said goodnight
and went to bed.

The next day the school day went on uneventful which Sean was grateful for
and he was real nervous about dinner at Matts.

"Calm down babe." Matt said with a smile. "It is going to be ok."

Sean smiled back and said, "I know it will be you know me though I just get
so worked up about things."

"That you do babe." Matt said with a small laugh.

Matt drove Sean straight to his house and could not stop from glancing over
at this beautiful man that was his. He was so excited to tell his mom about
their relationship and he had a big grin the whole car ride home.

"Mom I am home." Matt yelled. "Sean is with me also. What time are we
having dinner?" Today was Emily's day off and since Sean was coming over
she was going to be making dinner tonight instead of them just ordering
something.

"Hey there, boys. How was school? Dinner will be ready around 5:30 so you
two can go relax for a while." She said.

Matt pulled Sean and ran for the stairs and as soon as they were in his
room he shut the door and gave Sean a passionate kiss. "I have been wanting
to do that all day." Matt said.

"Mmm. That just made my nerves go down." Sean replied with a smile.

"What do you want to do until dinner?" Matt asked him.

Sean jumped on the bed and said "Lets watch a movie and cuddle." As he
patted the empty space beside him, Matt smiled and jumped on the bed and
put his arms around Sean.

When the movie was just about over they heard Matt's mom call from down
stairs that dinner was ready so they paused the movie and headed down
stairs.

"Wow, this smells amazing. Mrs. A." Sean said.

Emily smiled and replied "That is so sweet of you Sean but you can call me
Emily but I guess I told you that already. You were just raised by some
good parents to be so proper like that." Smiling at Sean.

"Yes Ma'am. My mother would smack me if she heard me call you by your first
name." Sean said with a laugh.

They talked throughout dinner about various subjects likes school and how
it was going this year and just as it was almost over Matt cleared his
throat and said "Mom I have some great news or at least I hope you think it
is great."

Matt continued "Sean and I have been best friends for years now and we
decided we wanted to take it to the next level. We are some much for each
other. Mom we are dating."

Emily got up walked over to Sean and said "This makes me so happy and I am
proud of both of you." She hugged Sean and gave him a kiss on the forehead
and did the same for Matt. "Do your parents know?"

"I have not told them yet we are dating and they do not know I am gay. I am
just so afraid of what they might do." Sean said.

"Well I have known your parents for a long time and they have always been
decent caring people. I am sure they will love you no matter what. But if
things get too bad you always have us." Kelly said with a reassuring smile.

Sean got up hugged her again and said "Thanks you are so awesome!" Emily
laughed at that and asked the boys if they would help clean up. To which
they were happy to do.

After Matt drove Sean home they sat in his driveway and Matt said "See I
told you it would be fine." Giving Sean a hug and kiss goodnight.

Sean got out of the car and headed up the pathway to the garage entrance of
the house which was right next to his room when all of the sudden he hear
footsteps behind him. When he turned around all he felt was a pain in his
head as someone had punched him in the face and that was the last thing he
remembered.
