Once I got off the phone with Sean I knew that there was going to be
trouble and I was so damn angry at Chris. Did he really think that trying
to break Sean and I up and like that would make me want to go out with him
instead. Well he has another thing coming at him. As far as I am concerned
our friendship is over.

I asked Travis to come along with me to make sure things didn't get out of
hand incase Chris was still there. I was liable to break his nose if he was
there. The ride to Sean's house was long and dreadful. I needed to find a

When we arrived at the house and I was so nervous to go in to find out how

I saw Amber was not happy about that comment. She still was not fond of
Travis after all that he has put Sean through. Both Sean and I were over it
but Amber still had some anger toward him. I interjected and suggested that
we head to the park to through the ball around. Sean and Amber could talk
and watch us if they didn't want to join in and it would give all of is a
chance to get some fresh air.

"Sean why don't we pack stuff for a picnic and we can make this an all-day
thing." I said to him. "Also Travis why don't you invite Kevin and Jesse
out to hang with us, this is the perfect chance to see if the other night
they were serious." I said to him.

Both Sean and Travis thought this was a good idea but I could tell Amber
was not happy about it. She was extremely protective of Sean but I liked it
that way I knew that when I was with him she would be and she would be
looking out for him.

Travis told us that Kevin and Jesse were going to meet us there. Amber and
Sean were going to ride over in Amber's car and I was going to take Travis
with me. I wanted to take some time and get to know him better. This year
has been a rollercoaster and so much as happened. I mean if you told me
that I was going to be friends with Travis a couple of months ago I would
have told you that you are crazy.

Life sure does change once you come out but I actually do not regret it. It
has its ups and its downs. Some people are supportive while others are
jerks. Such is life I guess but what matters is having someone you love
with you by your side. Sean has been nothing but great and he has one of
the kindest hearts I have ever seen.

Travis and I left first to meet up with the other guys while Amber and Sean
finished packing a few stuff for the picnic. I suspect that it had to do
with Amber wanting to talk to Sean alone.

We packed up the food and put it in my dad's cooler that he said I could

Amber unlocked her trunk and we put the cooler and some blankets and chairs

When we got there everyone was there talking. Kevin and Jesse were talking
with Travis and Matt was near by listening to what they were talking

on. I looked over toward Kevin and Jesse to see what their reaction was but
if they showed any contentment toward us they did not show us. Which I was

football. I felt bad because so much changed in his life. He no longer
lives at home with his family and he doesn't play football anymore. I was
glad though that he seemed to find some joy in hanging with us. He even
started to become a part of the family at home. On the nights we watched
movies as a family he was always invited and joined us. He would sit next

but Travis never seemed to be the type of guy to do this.

Matt no longer had a problem with my friendship to Travis and he also

Everyone else was laughing their asses off and I didn't think it was
funny. I turned around embarrassed and headed toward the cars. When I got
their I forgot they were locked and I didn't have the keys. I just wanted
to be alone for a little while. Matt must not have seen me leave because he
didn't follow me to see what was wrong.

After a few minutes Kevin showed up. "Hey man I really am sorry about the
football hitting you." He said to me.

"It's ok. I was just a bit embarrassed." I said to him.

He chuckled "Don't be dude. I have had stuff worse happen to me."

"Listen I actually wanted to talk to you alone for a second. Can I ask you
a favor?"

I looked at him suspiciously "Depends on what it is?"

"Ok I know that we gave you a hard time but one of the reasons why I
changed my mind about you and realized I was wrong was because a couple
weeks ago my cousin came out to the famly." He said to me. "We have always
been really close and he is younger than me. Well I was shocked at first
but he talked to me and I came to realize there is nothing wrong with
it. Now ever since he has come out he has been having a really hard time
both at school and home. I was wondering if sometime you could talk to
him?"

"Kevin I don't know. I mean I don't know him but I guess I could. I hope
that I would be able to help him but you know what I guess I would have

something unexpected he hugged me.

his eyes. "I am so worried about him."

"No problem. I just hope I can help him." I said to him.

We talked about other things for a few minutes then went back with the
other guys. Matt walked over to me when I came back and gave me hug and
then a kiss. We sat down next to each other holding hands and watching the
guys play some more football. It was truly a good day today and a day we
didn't worry about anything.

It was starting to get late and we decided to start and pack everything up
and head home. We invited Kevin and all the guys back to my house to hang
out. Only Kevin accepted the offer and Amber had to go home so it was just
going to be Travis, Matt, Kevin and me. Kevin surprised me further saying
he would drive me so Amber could just head home. Matt wasn't too sure about
it but I told him it would be fine.

"You know when the football team heard about your attack I was surprised
that most of them were actually concerned for you. Most just pick on you
because they don't want to get hell from other players but most guys on the
team are not bad guys. High school is brutal and it brings the worst out in
some people." Kevin began to speak as we were heading to my house. "See my
mom is a nurse and every day I would see how you were doing. Don't tell
anyone because my mom could get in a lot of trouble for telling me but I
was worried. It took me awhile to actually apologize to you.

"It's ok. I mean sure I hate that you guys always picked on me but at least
you are apologizing. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance." I
told him.

"I am glad you think that because I would like for us to be friends." He
said smiling.  After all that was happening my mind was just racing. I mean
who would have known what would have all happened within a couple of
months. Kevin must have seen me thinking and asked me what was on my mind.

"Just all that has happened. I really can't believe that it." I said to
him.

He replied saying "I know what you mean. If you told me six months ago we
would be friends I would have doubted it. Not because I didn't like you but
because we are so different."

I had to agree with him on this one. He was really being nice to me and I
was happy that maybe he was being truthful to me. When we arrived at my
house I asked if he wanted to come in and hang with us. Which I really
didn't think he would but he said that he would love to.

Matt and Travis were sitting in the living room talking when we arrived and
they greeted Kevin when he came in with me. I was glad that Matt was giving
him a chance. I know that this is all hard for him I mean first the
bullying and then coming out to our parents. It all was a rollercoaster. I
decided to go into the kitchen and make some snacks for us all. Travis
followed me which I have been noticing he has been doing that a lot
lately. I think he is really lonely and is hurting because his parents have
not even tried to contact him yet and he has been staying with us for a
while now. My parents were looking into the legal matters of it as not to
get in trouble for having him here.

I mean what if his parents wanted to start trouble and say that we were
keeping him here against his will or brainwashing him or something? As I
was making the snacks my phone rang and it was a number I have never saw
before.

"Is this Sean Williams?" a voice said.

I answered "This is him. Who may I ask is calling?"

"This is Detective Nathaniel Lawson. We have some information about your
attack. Can you come down to the station tomorrow with your parents?"  He
said.

My head was spinning. I had not thought about the attack in a while and I
never thought they would find out who did it. What new information could
they have?
