Subject: Life Is Not Always Kind Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Lance was happier than he had been is quite some time, he was falling for
quite a handsome young, hoping that Tanner would soon feel thesame way. His
heart was beating what seemed to be a mile a minute. Just the thought of
Tanner was giving him stirrings in his groin. I wassomething he had not
felt in a long time. He went down stairs to get a snack before he retired
for the night. H was sitting in the kitchen whenhis mother walked in as
asked " how he was doing. " Lance smiled and said that he felt as good as
he ever had. Mom walked over gave him a hug and kissed him on the cheek,
smiled and said " good night my boy and sleep well."  Lance returned her
kiss and he said " you as well, MomI love you." Mom left the room and
started getting ready for bed. Lance sat in the kitchen and the thought of
his father came rushing back, his eyes filled with tears as he pictured his
dad in his mind, he remembered the night the Police came to the door and
told he and his Mom, that there had been a terrible accident just outside
of town and the he had been killed on contact.

Lance feeling a little heart heavy, he missed his father more than
ever. His thoughts went back to the days and all the fun that he and his
fatherhad. throwing the football around in the yard, The ball games they
would go to but most of all the help his father would give him when things
started to pile up on his shoulders. His dad new his deep dark secret and
was always there to help and support him in every situation that arose.He
climbed into bed and sat there for a while and looked up and asked the good
lord to watch over his mother, and asked his dad to please guide him in the
future as he had done in the past. He laid down and then added please watch
over Tanner also. He rolled over on his side and within afew minutes he was
fast asleep.

The hours went by quickly and seemed only minutes before his alarm was
ringing. He reached over and turned off the alarm. he stretched and thengot
up and headed for his bathroom. He went in and proceeded to take care of
his morning duties, He walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and
headed to his dresser to put something on. then went to the closet and
searched for just the right cloths to wear today. it was important that he
looked as good as possible. Once he was dressed he went down stairs and
into the kitchen and ate breakfast. He kissed his mom good-bye and said I
will see you after school, said I love you and out the door went.

He was walking to school when he was surprised by a tap on the shoulder he
turned to see Tanner, morning just became brighter. He said good morningand
they both continued to walk to school.

Tanner looked at Lance and said " I can not tell you how happy I was that
you came over and helped us unpack. Both my father and I have had a
realrough time the past several months since my mom passed away from
cancer. I thought that my world had fallen apart, my dad was just going
through the motions of getting on with life, but seemed to be losing the
battle. I would hear him in his room at night sobbing and it was tearing me
apart becauseI knew that there was nothing I could do to help him. One
morning we both sat in the kitchen and we both looked at each other and at
the same time Said " I think we should move to another house and try to
start our lives over. We put the house up for sale and we just picked out a
place blindfoldedand decided that was where we would go.  Here we are and I
am very happy here and already has a great friend. I could not ask for
more.

Lance looked at Tanner and told him the story of how his father had died in
an auto accident and how broken hearted he had been for quite some time and
after he had gotten over the original shock, he and his mother started to
put their lives back together and once they did that things seemed to
beganto look a little better and they started over.

As both boys began to climb the stairs to the school, they were met by the
school bully.

He looked at them and said well isn't this quaint. Look at the couple of
gay boys here he said to his friends.

Tanner stepped up to him and said " if you do not want to end up in the
hospital, I would suggest you keep your mouth shut or I will shut it for
you.that is your choice choose wisely.

The bully said he was sorry and walked away.

Tanner looked at Lance and said " well I think we have just dodged a
bullet, and he saved himself a good butt whopping. The he smiled and said "
webetter hurry or we will be later for first class."

They both chuckled and started heading to class. they arrive just before
the final bell rang. The class went by quickly and before the boys knew it
itwas time for lunch. They sat in the lunch room and ate and talked for a
while and when they were through eating they realized that what they had
talked about what just a bunch of stuff that now seemed like it was just
rambling but at the time really seemed like it was very important.

The remainder of the school day seemed to pass quickly and before they knew
it the final school bell rang and they were on their way to the
lockers.After they had gotten what they needed from their lockers Tanner
asked Lance if e had any plans for the remainder of the afternoon. Lance
said thathe had nothing planned. Tanner offered to take him to the Ice
cream shop called LICKITY SPLIT and that he would treat him to a root beer
float.Lance merely said lead on.

They arrived and Tanner went to the counter and ordered 2 large root beer
floats. Then they went and sat down in one of the booths and waited for the
floats to be brought out. They sat and sipped their floats and told stories
of what it was like to grow up and all the fun they had.

Lance asked Tanner " do you and your dad need any more help unpacking."

Tanner replied that they had decided to wait till the weekend to finish
unpacking when they would be able to take their time. Tanner looked at
Lanceand lance could see that there was something on Tanner's mind but he
was having a hard time trying to think of how to bring it up.

 Lance was looking at Tanner and decided that he would try to help him get
hat ever it was off his chest. Lance smiled and asked Tanner what wason his
mind.

Tanner smiled back and said I was trying to think of a way to ask you if
you wanted to come over and help unpack this weekend. I was going to say
that it would most likely take all day and see if you wanted to stay the
night. I have already cleared it with my dad and he said it was fine with
him. The only think is that we would have to sleep on a Queen size air
mattress as the beds will not be delivered until Monday.

Lance smile and said is that all it was. I thought you were trying to say
something really bad. Lance then replied that he would be happy to help
youand your dad unpack and staying the night should be a blast. Sleeping on
a queen size air mattress would be sort of cool. I have not slept on an
airmattress since I was a little kid at my Nanna's house.

They both saw the time and were really later than they had both planned.

Tanner said " I better get going or my dad will start to worry and wonder
if I have gotten lost.

Lance said " yeah I know what you mean my mom worries about me as well.

They stood up and headed for the door. they went out and headed home
walking side by side until 2 blocks before Lance had to go down the block
to his house. While tanner said see you tomorrow and walked on.

Lance arrived home and his mom was sitting in the living room watching
TV. Lance walked in and said hi. his mom got up walked over to him gave him
a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Lance said that he had to go do his homework
as it was getting late. then he looked at his mom and said that Tanner had
asked him if he would like to stay the night there on Saturday night.

Tanner arrived home and his dad was in the kitchen making dinner. His dad
yelled out to him if he was ready to eat dinner. Tanner replied yes sir I
am starving. They sat down and ate dinner, after eating they both did the
dishes and that was when Tanner told his dad that Lance agreed to help them
unpack on Saturday and that he was looking forward to staying there
Saaturday night.

Lance finished his homework went to the kitchen to get a snack. then he
kissed his mom good night and headed to his bedroom. He got undressed
andwent into the bathroom to take a shower and get ready to go to bed.
while he was in the shower his mind was wandering to Saturday night and the
staying at Tanner's as before he knew what was happening he s starting to
get erect. he quickly finished his shower and dried off and headed for his
bed. He got in bed and got under the covers.  He sat up in bed and began to
say his prayers. That was something that he had been doing since he was a
little kid. Hefinished saying his prayers and laid down and rolled over on
his side , he was ready to start to drift off to sleep.

Tanner had finished his homework and was headed of to his room , he told
his dad good night and was off to his room. He went in and shut the door
behind him got undressed and got into bed, he rolled over on his side and
started to drift off to sleep.
