Subject: Life Is Not Always Kind,  Chapter 7

I would first like to apologize for the last chapter, I believe that things
were broughtup and seemed to be what I was told was tasteless. I was
accused of being GLIB aboutsituations, Let me say That was the farthest
thing from my mind. I hope that over the next few chapters you will have a
little more understanding of my meaning. Now letus get back to the story.
First let us cover the rules. If the stories that you re readingare not
legal in your area, if you are not 18 years of age, I will ask you to leave
now.If you are going to continue I hope that the story will be enjoyable.


Life Is Not Always Kind, Chapter 7

If you remember we left off as Lance, Tanner and Mr. Young was just
finishing breakfast. Mr. Young told the boys to go get ready to leave as he
was goingto take them out for the day. He told them that he would finish
doing the dishes and they should get ready.

Tanner lead the way down to his room. He entered the room and stepped aside
as Lance walked in after him. He then closed the door, put his hand on
Lance'sshoulder and slowly turned him around. Tanner was looking very
upset, had tears in his eyes and he was looking down towards the floor.

Lance put his hand under his chin and lifted it up, looking at Tanner
directly in the eyes he said, what is wrong, you look so very unhappy, did
I do anythingwrong.

Tanner go down on his knees and looked up at Lance and said, I feel like
the lowest thing on earth right now. After what I did and what I put you
through I feel like I should be punished. I am so very sorry for what I
did, I was being selfish and only thinking of myself and no gave not a
thought to what you mayhave wanted or what you were feeling. My Dear Lance
I promise to never again put you through the pain and anguish I did just a
short time ago. I also giveyou my word that from this moment you will be
the first and foremost in everything I do and say. I will try and love you
the way I believe that you deserve to be loved and I promise this as well,
God help the person that even looks at you wrong, from this day forward I
will never leave your side, I will be there 24/7

Lance looked Tanner with just a hint of a smile and said, your love means
so much to me, things that have happened in the past, that have made me not
onlywhat I am but also has made me the person that I am. With you by my
side I really believe that with your help and understanding along with the
great amountof love that we share. I believe that what has already happened
is something I will be able to, with your help and your undying loved, that
we will over a period of time, will help me to become a whole person again,
and if that does not happen then I know that you will always be there for
me. Lance gatheringhis emotions smile at Tanner and pulled him into a very
delicate and meaning hug. as they parted Lance lightly kissed him on the
cheek.

Tanner till had the terribly sad and hurtful look in his eyes, he felt that
he came so close to hurting the most important person in his life, he felt
that it woulda while before he would be able to forgive himself for what he
ha done, and the damage he could have caused, even unintentionally, to
Lance even without his knowledge, he quietly promised himself that it would
never happen again. He took it upon himself to be the Lord High Protector
on his what now will become his life long companion and his greatest love.

Lance was watching Tanner closely and was amazed that he appeared to be
carrying on a conversation with himself. after several minutes Tanner sort
ofperked up looked an\t Lance Smiled and said are you ready to go. Lance
looked little puzzled and said yes I am, are you alright.

Tanner slowly turned, gently put his hand on Lance's shoulder and said "
From this moment on I will protect you everything I can until the day I
die".We better hurry my Dad will think we are busy.

Lance took Tanner's hand, smiled nodded and said be better go.

Mr.  Young Had entertained for some time that his son was gay. He did not
was to say anything that Tanner might have gotten confused about. So he
letthings go and had decided that however it turned he would support his
son. He also had decided that whether his son brought home a girlfriend or
hebrought home a boyfriend that he would have his full support. and that he
would do his best to love his partner who ever it may be.

Tanner and Lance sat in the back seat of the car and were eagerly awaiting
to see what Mr. Young had planned for them. First on the list was
somethingthat neither of the boys would have guessed in a million
years. they parked and Mr. young turned and looked at the boys and
said. knowing my son as Ido, I can see that he is much happier since we
moved here. I can only assume that that is because of this wonderful young
man that is sitting beside himat this very moment. So with that being said,
I want you both to know that I will do everything within my power to see
that you both get everything that you deserve. Now I will ask you to follow
me. Mr. Young got out of the car followed by both Tanner and Lance they
both were very confused becausethe only thing that was close to them was a
jewelry store. Mr. Young opened the door and motioned the both boys in.
Mr. Young walked up to the counter and asked for the manager. Several
minutes later a very young and nicely dressed man walked over and asked how
may I help you. Mr. Young said I want you to meet my son Tanner and his
lover Lance, both boys turned red as a beet, I would like some thing
special for them that they can share ad will be ableto look at when they
are apart that will remind them of each other. The man behind the counter
smiled and said I think I have just the thing. he asked the boys to follow
him, they did even though they were still blushing. he stopped in front of
a counter, turn and said one moment. he walked around the counter andopened
it up and pulled out a heart that was split down the middle. He said that
he would engrave their names on the heart and they would give their half
toeach other. The boys smiled at each other but when they looked at the man
behind the counter they looked a little odd.  The man behind the counter
winkedat the boys, their eyes grew wide, the man reached inside his shirt
and pulled out his heart half and showed the boys that his heart half said
" GEOFF " thenhe winked and then the boys smiled looked at each other and
nodded. Mr. Young walked over and said have we made up our minds. the boys
smile looked at the man behind the counter the both winked and at the same
time said YEAH. everything was taken care of and the heart was given to the
boys but beforethey could leave. the manager asked them to follow him
again. he led them to a room in the back and as he opened the door he
smiled and said here is a littleprivacy for you. the boys walked in and the
manager closed the door behind them. Lance took his heart half and smile
gently kissed Tanner on the cheek andput the chain round Tanner's head and
said " I Love You". Tanner then took out his heart half smiled and placed
it around Lance's head, knelt down and he said " My Dear Lance, I Love you
with all of my heart, and I always will. Tanner closed his eyes and bowed
his head and then kissed Lance on the hand. Hestood up and looked Lance in
the eyes and saw tears there. he asked if he was ok. Lance smiled bigger
than he ever had before and replied " Never Better".They came out of the
room and walked to the front of the store. Lance walked up to Mr. Young
smile with tears in his eyes and said " That you so much Ifeel this is more
than I deserve ". Mr. Young No not for my SON. Lance gave him a big
hug. Tanner stopped at the counter and turned to the manager and smiled he
shook his hand and said " you have no idea what you just did for me, I will
never forget you. The all turned and headed for the door and that waswhen
the manager said " Boys always follow your heart for it will never steer
you wrong". He waved and said Good-bye.

They got back in the car and Lance said Hey Dad were too next. My. Young
looked in the mirror and smiled and said you will see. Tanner looked at
Lanceand mouthed the word Dad. Lance smiled and nodded yeah.

They drove for nearly an hour and then they stopped in front of a huge
department store. Mr. Young turned and said well it is time that I get my
boys some new cloths. the boys looked at each other then they looked at
Dad. Mr. Young said of course it you would rather not, the boys jumped out
of the car, Mr. young smiled and then got out. The boys spent the next few
hours running from here to there and were so excited they were beside
themselves. Mr. Youngfinally said hey boys we have to be going soon lets
decide what we want. Lance came over to Mr. Young and said I would like to
get an outfit that you likeand I am having such a great time but I am
confused why you are doing this for me, a complete stranger I almost feel
that I should feel leery. Mr. Young took Lance by the hand and pulled him
close. and said " you are my sons companion for life, I know my son and I
know this, Mr. Young kissed Lance onthe head and said there my son now do
you understand. Lance smiled and said YEAH NOW I DO" thank you from the
bottom of my heart. The boys got their stuff and headed to the
cashier. Their cloths were rung up and as the total keep getting higher the
boys were waiting for the hammer to fall of theirdreams. But it
didn't. They finally were ready to leave the store. they put the packages
in the trunk and climbed into the car. Lance said Dad I will alwaysbe
grateful for this. Mr. Young smiled and said I want my boys to look good
. Tanner noticed that it was getting late. He said' Dad I am getting
hungry".Mr.  Young asked were do you want to eat. Tanner said how about
OUTBACK, Mr. Young said OK. Then he asked Lance well what about you. Lance
never having been ask anything like that before replied " Anywhere would be
fine". Mr. Young said then lets eat cheap tonight. Mr. Young said I have
just the place for a quick and tasty place. Tanner and Lance said what
that. Mr. Young replied White Castle, home of the slider. The boys looked
at each other with a puzzled look on their faces and just shrugged their
shoulders. They arrived and got out and went inside and sat down. Mr. Young
said He would be right back. Several minutes later Mr. Young returned and
he was carrying several bags. He said I was thinking that since we had not
eaten lunch that you would be extra hungry, so I bought you each 10
burgers. both boys eyes popped open and they said WHAT. Mr. Young took the
burgers out of the bags and then gave them to the boys. They saw how small
they were and started to laugh. after about 30 minutes the burgers and
fries were gone and Mr. Youngsaid boys it is about that time when I get you
home.

Tanner replied Dad did you forget I asked if I would be able to stay at
Lance's. Mr. Young relied now what kind of a father would I be If I
something likethat. the boys both laughed

Lance decided that it would be a good thing if he told Mr. Young where he
lived, and then he invited him to come in and meet his
Mother. Mr. Youngreplied I would be happy to meet your Mother. Lance then
said. I have to tell you something. Mr. Young said What is it. Lance
replied that my Mom does not know that I am Gay and I don't know what he
would do. if she found out. Mr. Young said Son your Mother loves you and
she has a right to know that her son is in love with another boy, I am sure
she will understand. Lance said I am so scared. Lance I will be there for
you if you want. Lance Said I would like that. They arrived at Lance's
house he was walking up to the door as slow as he could. then he opened it
and asked Tanner and his Dad to come in.


Well that is it for this Chapter. I know that the story is moving slowly
but I have a lot of ground cover and I do not want to miss or pass
