Subject: Life Guarding in the summer: Chapter 2: New Eyes

 I have gotten a lot of good responses about this story. Thank everyone so
much. Keep em' coming. I would recommend everyone to read How the Fort
Changed MY life, Forever on a Tree, and Carrots and Celery. They are all
wonderfully written. Now on to the good stuff.

I awoke with this sharp pain to my head. I had no clue what had just
happened. I heard a faint sound of sirens coming in the distance and heard
Bonnie yelling to get some ice for my head.

" What happened" I managed to say in a whisper. Bonnie just smiled and said
that some assholes were drunk and beat Todd and me up. At that moment I
forgot about Todd and my heart started pumping I was so nervous. What
happened to Todd? Is he okay? Will I ever get to say I love you to him
again? It's happening again, I felt that feeling in my head and everything
went black again.

The next time I woke up I was in a hospital bed. I saw my dad and mom
sitting in the chair crying. The doctor came in and told me that Todd was
outside waiting to talk to me, but that he had to talk to me first. So I
braced myself for what he had to say. I was so excited to see Todd that all
I heard the doctor say was something about gay bashers and that I need to
file a police report. The doctor left and then walked in my angel. When he
walked into the room with that smile on his face the whole room
brightened. He cam over to my bed and sat in the chair and cried.

" Baby, I love you so much, I'm so happy for everything you've done for me"
STOP: here would be a good time to explain what the everything is that he's
talking about. About a year ago when Todd and I meet, we came out to our
parents. My parents accepted it, but he's didn't take it so well. So now he
lives with us because they threw him out. No everything is better because I
have my boyfriend with me. Now back to the story.

" When I saw you lying on the ground not moving I thought my world had
ended, it was the scariest thing I've seen. To know that I might have lost
you was the worst feeling in my life." He bent forward and kissed me on my
forehead. I smiled and him and then motioned him to come lay down next to
me. He seemed kinda hesitant, but the sighed and got into bed with me. He
sang "our" song for me until I went to sleep.


Okay people now it's been 2 weeks since the incident and today I'm getting
out of the hospital. The verdict was that my head was split and I needed
intensive surgery. I'm okay now, but everyday for maybe a month, I have to
spend three hours in a dark room with no light. I can't go back to life
guarding until next week, but then all I can do is take people's money and
the concession area, but I'll be next to my baby so I don't care. So I was
almost done with my three hours in a dark room, when Todd came into the
door and was holding something behind his back. He gave me his beautiful
smile and handing me a sack. It had sushi in it from our favorite
restaurant. Man I love sushi, it's the best thing ever made. He sat with me
in the room holding my hand, when I was finally done we went into the
living room and watched some television. I wasn't really paying attention,
because I was looking at Todd's package. Hey I'm human I can look. God
knows that I haven't touched, and man do I want to. The first thing my dad
told me was that I couldn't have sex with Todd. I was a little mad, but
then got over it. Now I have my trusty right hand.

" Baby, when are we going to get married" Todd asked me

" Baby, we're not ready to even be engaged" I told him. He just sighed and
continued watching TV. I knew that me not saying yes to Todd's proposals
was killing him, but I don't think I'm ready to settle down yet. We have 3
years under our belt I don't want to loose that. Plus there were some
things that I didn't want to tell Todd about what I've done in the past. We
have a good thing going, and I love that. At about 4:00 Todd said that he
had to go. I knew something was bothering him but I didn't want to get him
mad so I gave him a kiss goodbye and he left. As soon as he hit that door I
ran to the phone.

" Hey, Jon" I said

" Hey, Jay, how's your head" he asked

" I'm fine, I wouldn't mind seeing your head" I replied. He just chuckled
and asked if he could come over. I said yes and he said that he'd be over
in ten. I ran upstairs to my room and put on some clothes, and waiting for
Jon to come. As soon as the doorbell rang I got up and ran do the door.

" Hey Jon" I said

" Hey baby" he replied. I grabbed his hand and led him up to my
room. Before we even hit the door we started making out. I feel on my bed
and he fell right on top of me. He looked me in the eyes and said that I
was the best boyfriend he's ever had.
