Subject: Life's Expectations - Epilogue

Lets get this over with now: I own "Life's Expectations" and every
character in the story. There are some events that have actually happened
to me, but all the characters are fictional. If it is illegal for you to to
view this in your location, then GTFO. You're probably gonna ignore that so
have fun. Boy on boy happens in this story so if your not a fan of that,
what are you doing here? Donate to Nifty, cause they give you awesome
stories and you love them for it. So go to

Here is the epilogue for Gage and Zach. It's not all that long but
it's something to end the stories a little better. These will be in the
distant future and beyond what Life's Little Lies spot in the time line. I
wont spoil anything for you though.

This Epilogue will strictly be Zach and Gage's POV. Once again
thanks for reading and there is a link down at the bottom for Life's Little
Lies!

LE – Epilogue – Louder Than Ever

	Gage's POV – 14 years later – Age 30

I was woken to a rather loud, "Happy birthday!!" from my bedroom
door. It was just the beginning of summer so I was sleeping in still. I
usually do until the day after my birthday. It's just nice and such.

"Wake up sleepy head!" a eight year old body jumped up and down on
my bed. How could Sam have this going on?

I rolled over, "I'm awake Liam, you can stop jumping up and down."
Liam Connor is my nephew. Clair must have come over for my birthday.

"Come on Uncle Gage get up! Uncle Sam has a special breakfast ready
for us and we're waiting on you!"

"Okay okay I'm up! Now get out so I can get dressed." Liam giggled
and ran out of the room closing the door behind him.

You might be asking, 'but Gage do you and Sam have any children of
your own?' The answer is yes... yes we do. We found a very generous woman
who agreed to bare one child from each of our... uhhh what's the
word... 'seeds'.

So I let Sam go first. We ended up with a baby boy who we named
Fredrick. That was 5 years ago when I finished my schooling to be a
teacher. When it was my 'turn' we ended up with another boy, to which we
named Aaron, now age 3. We had a nice little family here.

Sam ended up going to school to be an electrician. He gets paid a
great sum of money. It's kinda like how our parents were. One makes some
money and the other makes tons of it. It works out nicely.

When I finally made it out to the kitchen there was a mess of
people. Clair and Ricky, Nick and Lucas, Mom and dad and of course all the
kids.

"The dead has risen!" Nick yells as he raises Aaron up. "How was
the wake up call?"

"Liam is very persuasive. He mentioned there was to be food." I
rubbed my eyes and yawned. "Where's Fredrick?"

"HERE!!" Was all I heard from the kitchen. He bolted out with Liam
behind him. Clair was right behind her son. "Happy birthday Dad!" He jumped
up and of course I caught him.

"Can I have your energy Fredrick?"

He scowled, "No that's not what I got Dad for his birthday!" We all
had a laugh. That's when I noticed he had a card in his hands. "This is for
you from me and Aaron." Aaron nodded from Nick's arms.

He handed the card to my face. I set him down and grabbed the card
from him. "Aaron and I, Fredrick."

"Just open the card Dad!" And I did. It was a simple happy birthday
dad card but that isn't what made it special. Fredrick and Aaron had both
tried their best to draw a picture for me. Fredrick even wrote down 'Happy
birthday Dad' himself from the looks of it. "Do you like our pictures?"

"I love them. Thank you Fredrick and Aaron very much." The boys
smiled and went off to their rooms to play. "Nice to see you Clair."

"Good to be out of the house to be honest. It's hard being a
housewife." She sighed and sat down on a chair nearby.

Nick laughed, "Hey, I'm the housewife too and it's not that bad."

"Says the one with no children." Nick rolled his eyes, "How do you
manage to keep the house so clean Gage?"

"Simple, Threaten to throw their toys out if they are left out of
their room after bed time."

"And that works with a 3 and 5 year old?" Her scepticism was very
clear in her voice.

"When you fallow through once or twice it does. Sam and I agreed to
donate some toys they barely played with and found out after bed time. That
didn't stop the boys from having their fit about the situation though."

Nick was in a fit of laughter, "And how many times have you done
this?"

"To Fredrick... 3 times, Aaron twice."

"Liam would freak at me if we did that."

I shrugged, "You would of freaked at mom and dad if they did that
too."

	"Dam right I would!"

And with a shout from Sam, "Breakfast is ready!" any conversation
was stopped and feasting begun. There was so much food! Sam must have been
working on it for hours! Breakfast was great and well made. Pancakes,
French toast, anything you could think off.

The day went by fast too. Mom and Dad came and visited for a
bit. Clair stayed all day so Liam could play with his cousins. Nick and
Lucas had to get home before their landlord showed up for the months
rent. It was a lovely little day.

Then 3 pm came around. "I guess you'll be heading home soon to
start dinner." Clair, Sam and I were all sitting watch meaningless tv.

Clair shook her head, "Nope. I'm staying here for a while more."

I gave her my own sceptic look. Then Sam spoke up, "We are having a
date night and it's not up for debate."

	"Sam..."

"No arguing we are going on a date tonight and Clair is staying
here and looking after the kids until Ricky comes to get them." I gave Sam
a look. This one saying 'what?' "They are gonna stay over night so we have
the house to ourselves."

Clair smiled, "It's the least I can do on your birthday. I mean my
son did wake you up."

	"Okay, were are we going?"

"Just reserved seating for two at Mr. Mikes." Our favourite place
to eat. I should have known. "And we should get going, the reservation is
in 20 minutes."

"Than I guess we should get going!"

A special day with a special night, nothing better than that. I'm
not going to bore you will all the details but yes we had sex after the
date. Sam is the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me and my birthday
is our unofficial anniversary. You know since that was the day we met.

Sam is everything I would ever want in a person. Not to say we
don't fight, we do all the time but it's always the little stuff. It
usually ends with one of us admitting we were wrong and then we snuggle.

My expectations for life were simple. To settle down with 'the one'
and have a family. If I were to rate my life right now out of 10... Can I
go over? Good. One trillion out of ten. I wouldn't have it any other way.

	Zach's POV – Age 30

	"Today is the day."

"It sure is..." I looked around the house my parents built for
us. A house that they had intended to live in with me. That sadly never
happened... but maybe if it did wouldn't have ended up with Shane.

"You want some time alone?" I must have gone deep into
thought. It's the only time he ever asks me that.

	I nodded, "Ya... I think I do."

"Okay, I'll be outside waiting for when ever your done." Shane left
the house for me to venture off in my thoughts.

I moved into this house when I was 15... It's been 15 years since
then and 23 years since I lost my parents. This house was the last thing
that kept me clinging to this town. I would come back often... but it
wouldn't be the same.

I never really got to know what my mom and dad were like. I was
only 7 when they past away. In my eyes they were just people I had to
listen too. They were like gods to me I guess. I really would like to have
known what they would have given me in this life.

Sure, they gave me this house and everything in it... but it was
more painful than it was rejoice. It wasn't a home... just a
house. Everything wasn't mine... it was my parents. I haven't been forced
to work a day in my life but here I am with a business degree and hard
earned money in my pocket.

Shane... his life in ways was much more difficult than mine. I
could never imagine what was going on in his head all these years. If he
ever thinks of it, and how painful it is. I can't say how I would take it
if I was him.

His father got out of prison a few years ago. Shane has been
worried ever since. That is another reason we're moving. He's scared that
somehow his dad will find him. I don't blame him.

This place... it's filled with memories... The good, the bad, the
extremely awkward. This one time my aunt walked in on Shane and I... well
having sex. It was my senior year of high school. Like I said AWKWARD! But
not entirely bad.

I must have spent half an hour walking around this house. I sold it
at the peak of the market just a few months ago. I didn't sell it at full
price though, why would I? We still have a week here but we also have a
place waiting for us. So knowing Shane must be getting a little inpatient I
went around one more time turned off all the lights and walked out.

And there he was. Shane, the most beautiful husband someone could
ask for, waiting for me, on the car playing with his phone. "Are you all
done in there now? Made sure you had everything four hundred times?"

"Yes... Had a few trips down memory lane while I was at it too."

Shane smiled, "I think my favourite memory in this house... your
15th birthday without a doubt."

I rolled my eyes, "Still can't believe you still have that pair of
underwear."

"So you think they'll like it?"

I looked up at the house. Two car garage, 4 bedrooms, two and a
half baths, Living room, family room and a large kitchen with plenty of
counter space and an island. What is there not to love about it?
"Ya... they will."

"Well they are at the end of the driveway waiting for the last
key. You wanna bring it to them or should I?"

"I will..." And so I went. The last thing linking me to this
town. This key to open the last lock holding me back... it's about to open
the world up to me.

They had their windows down and were waiting for me. "Having second
thoughts?" Came a voice I knew all too well.

"No way. I'm done here for a while. I'll come back one day, just
not in the next little while."

"Zach, Thanks again for everything. I didn't think we'd be in town
for much longer with our living situation."

"You know what Isaac, It's an honour to see that you are taking
over this house. I know you and your future family will treat this home
with respect. I look forward to see the changes that happen to this place
when I come back."

"You always have a place to stay here, just call us in advance. I
don't like people who stumble by all to much."

I honestly giggled, "You bet Izzy. I'll see you later okay?"

"Sooner is better than later, but I'll take it."

"Say hi to the Mr. For me okay?"

"I will. See ya." Isaac drove off.

I returned to my ever so patient boyfriend. "Well we had a late set
off and now I'm hungry. How bought lunch before we go? One last lunch date
at the Fork 'N' Spoon." Yes that is a restaurant in town.

"Lets go." This town, it's people will forever be in my heart. But
it's Time for Zachary Creston-Albore to move on with life. My expectations
for my life are huge and there just isn't enough room for them in this
small town in the good old northwest British Columbia.

	END.
