More Than Okay
Chapter 4

This story is based on true events.

"Jamie?" I read out loud, a mix of confusion and surprise lacing the tone
of my unnerved voice.

-Click-

"Hello?" I knew who it was, but I wanted my greeting to come out as a
question as to what he was calling about at the same time.

"Hey Ry, listen I don't have much time, I kinda need to have a talk with
you as soon as possible. You in the area by any chance?"

"Er..." I thought for a second. I didn't know if right now was a good time
to go and have a sit down with one of my best friends while I was covered
in sweat and cum.

"Okay J, sounds sweet. I've just had a workout (cough) so I need to go and
wash myself off real quick. How about I meet you at the playing fields in
an hour?"

"Okay mate. Catch you in a beat."

-Click- The call ended and my new set of nerves began. I had just come from
a domestic drama which could well lead to the end of a very fun friendship
for me and out of nowhere, one of my best buddies decides it's a good time
to meet up for an "urgent chat". I really hope this day doesn't get any
worse.
I half power walked, half jogged back home and ran straight
upstairs and into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me and leaning my
back against it for a brief moment so I could catch my breath. I know I
didn't have much time, but I had to chill the fuck out in order to get my
mind clear and unclouded. After a few minutes, I dragged myself to the
shower and flicked it on, then proceeded to take my clothes off. I pulled
my jeans down and a huge wet, bleach odoured patch came into view on the
part of the jeans where my ass went. I have no idea what I would tell mom
when she washed my clothes, but hopefully it would have dried up too much
to really gather any evidence. I threw them on the floor in the corner and
climbed into the shower, letting the water instantly envelope my body in
it's calm warmth. All I could do was stand there leaning against the wall
with my head bowed under the flow of water and elapse into nothingness. I
must have been there a while though because the next thing I know, the door
is being knocked on and a voice is shouting from the other side.

"Hey Bro, you've been in there for more than 20 minutes and I kinda need to
use the toilet. Could you hurry it up a little!"

"Urrgh, okay. I'll be right out." I moaned.
I quickly quirted some shampoo on my head and shot a blob of shower
gel on my chest and crotch then proceeded to rub my head and chest at the
same time in circles. After that I moved down to soaping up my crotch and
then washed my ass. When I was satisfied with what I had done, I quickly
rinsed off, turned off the shower and jumped out, grabbing a towel in the
process. I checked the my phone I had pulled out of the discarded jeans and
read that I only had 20 minutes left. Shit, I needed to hurry, otherwise J
would have to wait up on me, and believe me, he's not the patient type.

After I got dressed and put some spray on, I made sure I had some house
keys and my phone and left to meet J.
I used the same half power walk, half jog technique to get to the
meeting spot on time and when I glanced at the time upon my arrival. I was
happy to find that I was still 2 minutes early. Just as I had stepped onto
the field, Jamie came into view from one of the backlots. I walked up to
him and shook his hand, both of us smiling.

"Hey J, nice to see you man."

"You to Ry, how've you been keeping mate?"

"It's been a bit hectic today, otherwise fine. So what's going on with you
man?"

Jamie sighed "D'ya mind us walking and talking? It'll keep things on the
chill."

"No not at all man, not at all."

We both turned and made a slow start along the border of the field, slowly
walking side by side.

"So what's been troubling you buddy? Or at least I presume you're having
troubles, judging by the sounds of things, hey?"

J looked at me with an expression of urgent need and of being afraid. He
looked like he was about to cry.

"Well, erm, you see...you know...er...fuck___" Jamie was obviously
struggling to find the courage to tell me what was going on with him.

"Listen J, it's fine. You don't have to say a word bud, I'm here to stay."

"Nah! I have to get this off my chest. Basically there's this person I know
that goes to our school. I'm really close friends with this person and
we've know each other for years. The problem is..."

"Go on J, don't worry about anything man, I'm hear to support you no matter
what." We came up to a puddle which we lightly sprang over and continued
walking. Jamie was staring at the ground and I at him.

"Well, you see, I really really like this person. This friend of
mine. Like, I think I'm in love." Jamie continued staring at the
ground. I'm so glad I wasn't feeling what he was at this moment. He was
obviously going through so much stress about this situation he was in. But
this sounded to me like nothing new. Boy likes girl and finds she's
hot. Boy dances with the idea of talking to girl. Boy ends up striking up a
rather good long term friendship with girl, but then afterwards feels a lot
more than just hormones. Now the dilemma of choosing between two different
options is where the stress and sleepless nights lay.

Option A: Risks his friendship by telling the girl how he truly feels about
her and that he wants a relationship. Option B: Play it safe and instead
continue being normal friends and outsource the relationship.

"Well J, you know you don't have to worry about talking about these things
dude. I'm here for you all the way and always have been. Do you want me to
know who the lucky lady is so I can tell you what my thoughts are?"

"Erm..." Silence followed and there wasn't any talking for a couple of
minutes. I started to get worried. This sounded deeper than I thought.

"Ry, that's the problem."

"Huh? What you mean?" I'm really confused now.

"This person isn't a lady."

"You what?!" I stopped walking and stood there looking at him in confusion
and complete surprise. If he meant what I think he meant, then I think I
was going to have to slap myself. There is no way Jamie could ever be...

"See, I knew I shouldn't have said anything. I'm stupid for dragging you
out here to listen to this bullshit. Just pretend this never happened
okay." Jamie started walking away briskly.

"Wait J!" I stopped him by putting a hand on his shoulder. "Listen,I'm
sorry about my reaction. I just never thought you'd be...you'd like...you
batted for the other team." Even as I said the words I felt myself
cringe. I sounded like a cunt. Jamie stared me straight into my eyes and
kept his eyes locked on mine and rested a hand on each of my shoulders.

"Ry... I'm in love with you!"
