Chapter 21

"Not tackle, I hope," Shaun laughed, glancing around at the room full of
hunky men, then at Zach, and finally at his own chest and legs. With his
athletic body, Zach might do okay with the men, but Shaun knew his scrawny
bod would be no match for the other guys.

"Nah," Ryan explained, "we usually play flag football out here on the
ranch."

"Well, I gotta call Mom, first." Reluctantly, Zach began to look around
for his shorts, so he could put them on and retrieve his phone. "But I
think football would be fun, if you wanna play, Shaun."

Outwardly, Shaun nodded his approval, though he still had his doubts.
Football had never been his favorite sport; but he'd have played any game
they wanted, just for the opportunity to be around the guys at the ranch
for a few minutes longer.

Everyone pitched in to clear away the dinner mess, before sauntering to an
open field behind one of the barns. A handful of other guys had already
assembled there ... for the Sunday afternoon tradition on the J bar A
... and a few more wandered over, before the game began. Those who hadn't
already met Zach and Shaun were eager to learn who they were. After
introductions all around, a couple of guys chose up sides for the shirts
and skins game. While the rivalry between the two teams was intense at
times, first and foremost, it was a fun game.

Both Shaun and Zach were truly sad, after the final down was played,
because it meant they would have to be leaving all the awesome guys they
had met that afternoon. They had made some amazing new friends ... even if
they were old ... and everything had turned out way better than even Zach
had hoped. They hemmed and hawed for as long as they could, trying to
delay the inevitable, but finally they had no choice; they had to leave.
Shaun and Zach traded Facebook names, email addresses, and phone numbers
with several of the J bar A men, before they mounted their bicycles. As
they were preparing to leave, Josh, along with Tim and Ryan, invited the
boys to visit the ranch any time they felt like it. Both teens said they
might just take them up on the offer.

Tim, Josh, and Ryan watched the boys mount their bicycles and begin to ride
down the driveway, before turning away, to join the others inside the
house.

"Can you imagine what it must have been like growing up out here?" Shaun
asked, after he and Zach had pedaled away from the house. "I mean, being
around all the other hot guys, and all." He paused for a second. "Damn,
my cock was hard the whole time we were here, from all the sexy stuff they
said ... even during the football game!"

"I know, so was mine," Zach agreed, before shaking his head in wonder.
"And they were just regular guys like us, too; not like a bunch of snobby
rich folks, the way I was afraid they'd be when I saw the house. Fuck,
Shaun ... I'm sure glad we didn't wimp-out, before we even met anyone."

"Me, too; I guess I WAS just a little bit afraid."

"About to piss in your pants ... if you ask me!" Zach laughed loudly, and
began to pedal much harder, leaving Shaun in the dust.

Shaun pedaled as fast as he could, but was no match for Zach with a head
start. When Zach slowed to a stop at the intersection with the highway,
Shaun rolled alongside him. The rest of the ride back was uneventful.
Since they had spent a lot longer on the ranch than they had planned, they
ditched the plans for a longer bike ride, and rode straight back to
Hygiene. At the entrance to the Andersen driveway, Shaun kissed Zach and
headed home. Unlike on Saturday afternoon, when Shaun got home this time,
the apartment door was unlocked and Jeremy was sitting at the dining room
table in front of his open laptop.

"Hey, Dad!"

Jeremy glanced up from the computer screen, while typing an email to the
Mathematics Department Head at Cherry Hill. "Hi, Shaun ... how was the
weekend with Zach?"

Excitement oozing from every pore, Shaun smiled broadly. He pulled a chair
away from the table and sat down across from his dad. "Probably one of the
best I ever had."

Jeremy stopped typing ... his work could wait ... he wanted to know what
had made the weekend so special to Shaun. Closing the laptop, he gave
Shaun his full attention. "I want to hear all about it, son. Hey, you
look thirsty; do you want something to drink?"

"Yeah, a glass of water would be good, Dad. Thanks."

As Jeremy slipped off the tall chair, he winced.

With a worried look, because his dad seemed to be in pain, Shaun asked, "Is
everything all right?"

"Couldn't be better!" Jeremy smiled. The pleasure of the almost two days
he had spent with Liam more than made up for any pain he felt. He walked
gingerly around the bar and into the kitchen. "Shaun, I've got something
to tell you, too ... good news, I hope ... after I hear all about your
weekend."

Jeremy and Liam had talked on and off all weekend, about getting together
as more than just weekend fuck buddies. Though both men claimed to have
feelings for each other, neither was ready to commit to a longterm
relationship just yet. But, after quite a bit of discussion, they both
agreed that Shaun ought to be told about everything. While a positive
reaction from Shaun wouldn't mean Jeremy and Liam's relationship ... if
there was ever to be a meaningful one ... would be successful, a really
negative reaction from the teen would doom it before it even got started.
Jeremy set the two glasses of water on the bar between the kitchen and
dining room, walked from one room to the other, and eased himself onto his
seat. Shaun took a glass for himself and couldn't help but notice the
grimace on his dad's face, as he placed the other glass in front of him.

After taking a sip of water, Shaun said, "I don't know where to begin, so
much happened this weekend." A gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach,
and a little voice in the back of his head, kept trying to tell Shaun to
keep his mouth shut about his new relationship with Zach. But he was
beginning to realize that the inner voice was wrong much of the time.
Though he'd been afraid she wouldn't, Mrs. Andersen had taken the news of
Zach and Shaun well. And, of course, the guys out at the ranch had been
nothing but nice ... just the opposite of what Shaun's fears told him. He
wished he could be more like Zach ... who either didn't have a nagging
voice inside him, or tuned it out, if he did ... but Shaun was a long way
from being there yet.

Jeremy was all ears, as Shaun haltingly began to tell him how he'd fallen
in love. It probably shouldn't have surprised him to learn Shaun was in
love with Zach, considering how very close the two young teens had become
in such a short time. But, since Shaun had never given any indication to
Jeremy that he liked guys, it did. Then he realized that Shaun would
probably be just as shocked, if not more so, to learn that he had feelings
for the man who lived downstairs.

Jeremy held out his open arms to his son, and Shaun hopped from his seat
and melted into them.

"I think that's awesome, Shaun!" Meaning every word, Jeremy hugged Shaun
tightly. "You know, love is an amazing thing; and nobody can predict who
it will lead us to." While there was a lot more Jeremy could have said on
the subject of love ... and not all of it positive ... that was a
discussion for another time.

Shaun pulled back from his father for a moment. "I ... um ... wasn't sure
how you'd take the news, Dad."

"Well, you're beginning to grow up, Shaun; a lot faster than I did when I
was your age. And as most people grow, they begin to yearn for love
... not just from their family, I mean ... but from someone special." He
paused for a moment. "I'll admit I was surprised to hear you were into
guys. Do you mind telling me how long you've known?"

"Hunh-uh." Shaun smiled; he knew exactly when he started to look at guys
as sex objects. "Over the summer, when my body started to change, I
noticed guys in a different way for the first time ... you know ... how hot
they are, and all ... but I guess it was after I realized I was in love
with Zach, that I knew for sure."

Jeremy hugged Shaun again, as he thought back to the first day of school,
when he had almost written off the `too-cool-for-his-own-good' Zach as a
loser. He was glad he had listened to his inner self, instead, and tried
to give the boy the benefit of the doubt, because it allowed him to be
sincere when he added, "I'm glad you and Zach found each other."

"Thanks, Dad. That means a lot to me; it really does!"

Father and son held the embrace for a while, basking in their love for each
other. Finally, Shaun relaxed his arms, glanced in his dad's eye, and
smiled.

"Oh ... Zach bought a bike on eBay with his birthday money. We rode over
here yesterday afternoon to show it to you, but you weren't around."

Jeremy tensed up a bit. "Sorry I missed you two."

"Yeah," Shaun replied. "We stuck around for a while, since the car and
your bike were here, but we finally had to leave."

Jeremy had been wondering how to bring up the subject of Liam; and Shaun
had given him the perfect opportunity.

"Well, I was visiting our downstairs neighbor, Liam."

"No way!"

With that one comment from his dad, all the loose ends came together, and
things began to make sense to Shaun: all his dad's morning runs with Liam,
when his dad used to only go running on weekends; his dad being gone a lot,
when he should have been at home; the soreness on Sunday afternoons; maybe
even the extra smiles his dad had thrown around lately. Damn! Shaun
smiled knowingly and shook his head. While, on the one hand, the thought
of his dad having sex with anybody grossed him out, on the other, in a
weird way, Shaun thought it brought them closer, too. "So it was YOU TWO
doing all the grunting and moaning we heard!"

Jeremy's face turned beet red ... he hadn't realized they had been making
so much noise ... but he managed a cockeyed smile, anyway. "Guilty, as
charged, I guess." He looked down for a moment, steeling his resolve for
what he needed to say next. "He's a really great guy, Shaun; and he'd like
to get to know you."

As the excess blood slowly drained from Jeremy's face, Shaun thought for a
second or two.

"Um, sure, Dad ... I guess that'd be okay." While Shaun wasn't sure he was
ready for another adult in his life, he also supposed that his dad deserved
to be happy. "I mean, are you guys serious about each other, and
everything?"

"We're not there yet, Shaun; but I think we might be heading in that
direction."

"Okay, then." Shaun was noncommittal, as he hugged his dad again.

"Say ... I just had a thought." Jeremy smiled broadly. "Maybe the three
of us could go out to dinner this evening, or something. What do you say?"

Shaun chuckled. "If I get to choose the place ... sure!"

"You've got a deal!" Jeremy picked up his phone from off the table in
front of him, punched a couple of buttons, and raised it to his ear. "Now
let's hope Liam hasn't already made plans for this evening."

Liam picked up on the second ring. Though he had planned a night of
bowling with a few friends, dinner with Jem and Shaun sounded a lot better.
Since both Jeremy and Shaun had some schoolwork they needed to finish, they
settled on 6:30. A few minutes early, Liam was standing in front of the
Carter apartment. He raised his hand and knocked three times.

"I'll get it, Dad," Shaun called out, while hurrying to the door.

"Hey! You must be Shaun!"

"Yeah..." Up close ... the way he was right now ... Shaun couldn't help
but stare at the dark haired, olive complected, hunk of a downstairs
neighbor. He was very casually dressed in a well-worn Anaheim Duck's
sweater over a pair of cutoff jeans and leather flip-flops. The hair on
his muscular, deeply tanned, lower legs caused Shaun's cock to stir.

Liam couldn't help but notice Shaun was staring at him. "I'm Liam, from
downstairs. Can I come in?"

"Um ... sure, Liam." Shaun cleared his head, smiled, and stepped aside.
"Dad, Liam's here!"

"Okay ... I'll be right out. Have a seat, Liam."

"Thanks, Jem." With a smile for Shaun, Liam lowered himself into the
swivel chair near the door.

It wasn't what either guy wanted, but the next couple of minutes in the
living room were very tense. Neither Shaun nor Liam seemed to know exactly
what to say to the other, as Liam made a couple of lame comments about the
apartment, and Shaun brought up the weather. When Jeremy finally opened
his bedroom door and hurried down the hall, as fast as the dull throb in
his ass would let him, both Shaun and Liam breathed sighs of relief.

"Wow ... I think I'm overdressed," Jeremy commented. To his way of
thinking, his dressy jeans, dark red, long sleeve collared shirt, and
sock-less loafers seemed a bit out of place with both Liam's and Shaun's
shorts and flip-flops.

Liam smiled and stood. "I don't know; you look great to me!"

"Yeah, Dad, you do," Shaun agreed.

"Thanks!" Jeremy smiled broadly, before greeting Liam with a quick peck on
the lips.

Shaun wanted to have dinner at The Pumphouse, and that restaurant was fine
with the men. With Jeremy's help, the early tension between Shaun and Liam
melted away in no time. After Shaun got to know Liam better, he found that
they had a lot in common: a love of movies, the outdoors, bicycling, and
guys, among other things. And Liam still had enough kid in him ... okay,
so he was trying to make a good impression, too ... that he talked to Shaun
as his peer, and not an adult. Shaun wasn't sure what had attracted Liam
to his dad, but he could definitely see why his dad had been attracted to
Liam!

Though the real reason for them having dinner that night hadn't been
mentioned, they continued talking well after they had finished with their
meals. After the waiter made the third or fourth stop at the table, to ask
if they wanted anything else, Liam smiled across the table. It was time to
cut to the chase.

"So, Shaun, what would you say, if your dad and I would decide to get
together?"

Without really taking any more time to think about it, Shaun truthfully
replied, "You're a really cool guy, and all, Liam." He shrugged his
shoulders, because he felt it probably didn't matter much what he thought,
anyway. "I guess it'd be okay if you two decided to be boyfriends." He
chuckled. "As long as Dad's not limping around all the time, that is!"

Liam smirked. "But it's a good hurt, right Jem?"

Jeremy glanced at Shaun, trying to be sure he was okay with where the
conversation had gone. Since he was smiling, Jeremy turned to Liam. "You
haven't heard any complaints from me, have you?"

"Not until afterwards, anyway." Liam winked at Shaun.

Shaun was getting hard with all the sexual innuendo between himself and the
grownups.

Everyone laughed, as Jeremy took out his credit card and placed it in the
vinyl cover with the bill. He thought the conversation had gone just about
far enough, in the direction it was headed, so he changed the subject.
"Well, Shaun ... like I told you earlier ... Liam and I haven't made any
final decision yet." He smiled across the table at Liam. But I think I
can safely say ... for both Liam and myself ... that we're very happy you
feel the way you do about us."

As the college-aged waiter returned to the table and picked up the check,
they all remained silent.

As soon as he left the table, Shaun asked, "Liam, are you gonna be moving
in with us, or something?" It was as if he hadn't heard what his dad had
just said.

Both Liam and Jeremy chuckled.

Liam wanted to say, `Yeah, and the sooner the better.' But, instead, he
replied, "Probably not for a while, anyway, Shaun." He glanced at Jeremy,
who nodded.

The waiter brought the credit card receipt to be signed, and Jeremy left
him a more than generous tip, because they had tied up the table for so
long. When they left the restaurant, a stiff, wintery-feeling breeze was
blowing, and they hurried to the car. Soon, they were back at the
apartment complex. Shaun ... who pretended to be chilled in his shorts and
thin shirt ... rushed upstairs to the Carter apartment, while his dad and
Liam paused for a moment in front of Liam's door.

The two men kissed gently, not allowing things to get passionate. Jeremy
was on the verge of asking Liam to spend the night with him, but, at the
last moment, decided not to. He wanted to get all his feelings under
control, first.

"See you in the morning, Liam?"

"I wouldn't miss it." Liam kissed Jeremy harder, not wanting him to go.
Even with the chilly temperature, both men lingered outside Liam's door.
Neither wanted to leave the other. But, with a final kiss, Jeremy tore
himself away, and raced up the last flight of stairs. He let himself into
the apartment, quickly closing and locking the door behind him.

Although the first day of fall was still three days away, Jeremy exclaimed,
"Brrrrr, Shaun ... it feels like summer's turning right into winter this
year."

"I know." Shaun shivered, before smiling. "Hey, Dad; Liam's really cool!
I mean it." Then, trying to sound as positive as he could, he added, "I
think it's awesome about you and him!"

"Thanks, Shaun ... so you'd really and truly be okay if he was to become a
part of our family?" Because Jeremy knew that Shaun sometimes said things
to please others, and not because he really meant them, he was doing his
best to read Shaun's body language, and not just hear what he said. "Tell
me the truth, now."

Stepping out of his sandals, Shaun plopped onto the couch. As he lay down,
he splayed his legs wide and thought for a bit. "I guess I'd be okay with
you and Liam getting together, Dad."

Jeremy smiled, before joining his son on the sofa. He took hold of Shaun's
long, naked feet and gently placed them in his lap. They talked seriously
for quite a while ... something most fathers and sons don't do often
enough. At one point, Jeremy began to lovingly massage Shaun's feet and
lower legs. Shaun purred like a kitten, at the unexpected attention from
his father, and slowly began to drop his guard. It was only then, that
Jeremy sensed Shaun's true feelings: while Shaun really liked Liam ... as a
guy, that is ... he harbored several reservations about him, too.

The two sat in silence for a few moments, enjoying the quiet and lost in
his own thoughts. When Jeremy finally spoke, the words came from the
bottom of his heart.

"Shaun ... I love you more than life itself, and I'd never deliberately do
anything to make you unhappy." He looked his son in the eye. "I think
that you and I need to spend quite a bit more time with Liam ... and get to
know each other a lot better ... before I make any longterm commitment to
him."

"Thanks, Dad!" Smiling warmly, Shaun pulled his legs from Jeremy's lap and
sat up. He hugged his father tight.

Father and son talked for a while longer, before Jeremy glanced at the
clock and said it was time for both of them to turn in for the night.
Tomorrow was a school day, after all. They stood, and he lovingly kissed
his son on the forehead, before they headed to their separate bathrooms.

Shaun went to bed naked, the way he always did since getting to know Zach,
and lay awake for a bit. So much had happened to him over the weekend
... and all of it sexy, in one way or another! Suddenly, his dick was
throbbing like crazy, and he rolled onto his stomach. Urgently, he began
humping the bed.

The bed frame squeaked rhythmically, and Shaun had to bite into the pillow
to stifle his moans. Even though he was alone in bed at the moment, it
seemed to Shaun that the feelings from his cock just kept getting better
and better with each passing day! To erotic thoughts of Zach and himself,
Liam and his dad fucking, and all the guys out at the ranch, Shaun humped
his rock-hard meat until he was right on the brink of orgasm. His body was
on fire ... but he forced himself to pause for a moment or two. Bending
his knees, he spread his legs wide and imagined Zach was lying on top of
him, fucking him like there would be no tomorrow. Burying his face in the
pillow, he began to hump like crazy; this time, he didn't stop until after
the mind-bending orgasm had run its course.

All the tension, that had just been coursing through his teenage body,
melted away as quickly as it had come on, and Shaun was suddenly sleepy.
Unconcerned about the mess he'd just made on the bottom sheet and himself,
his dad and Liam, or anything else, he rolled to the other side of the bed,
pulled the thin covers over himself and the jizz, and was asleep moments
later.

At the muffled cry of his son's climax, Jeremy began to stroke his meat
harder. Even though he and Liam had compressed a week's worth of hot sex,
for all but the most sexually active couples, into a couple of days, in no
time, a few dribbles of cum fell into his pubes.

Unlike his son, Jeremy didn't fall asleep right away. His mind pored over
the recent events of his life; he had so much to digest. Since he'd been
burned once in a relationship, he wasn't eager to let it happen again. And
though everything seemed very different with Liam than it had with his ex
... still, he needed to know for sure ... if there was any way he could.
He lay awake for an hour or two, pondering it all, but coming to no
conclusions, before the soft moaning of the wind around the eaves lulled
him to sleep.
