We slept in until about 9:00 o'clock Saturday morning. After we showered
and got dressed we ate breakfast. The driveway needed to be shoveled and
we drafted Jeff to help. At first he whined but when we told him we would
go ride snowmobiles after, he was more than happy to help. We had got
about 6 inches of new snow last night. It took us about an hour to clean
up the driveway. Jeff bugged us to go pick up Ken. I gave him a call and
he was not doing anything so Mark and I went to pick him up.

On the way to Ken's house, Mark told me that he wanted to have a little
talk with Ken. I explained to Mark that if he wants Ken to be totally
honest with him, he needed to be honest with Ken too. Mark decided that it
might be a good idea to tell Ken the truth. After we arrived at Ken's
house we went inside. His dad was off at work.

"Ken, we have decided to trust you. You're only the third person I have
ever told. When I told you how I was in love with a girl from my hometown,
the girl was my mother. The real love of my life is Mike."

"I knew it. I could tell by the way that you two look at each other. I'm
happy for you. I wish I had somebody that loves me too."

"Well, Ken, there is something we want to talk to you about. There is
somebody that has a crush on you. It just happens to be my kid brother
Jeff."

"I suspected as much. I'm kind of flattered. I'm really not interested in
him any that way. He is fun to hang around and stuff but I'm not attracted
to him sexually."

"I'm glad to hear that. I don't want to see him get hurt. I don't think
he is emotionally mature enough for that kind of relationship. He has been
through a lot in the last couple of weeks. He has lost both his mom and
dad. He's a tough little kid but I'm not sure how much more he can take."

"I'm not going to encourage him but I'm not going to discourage him either.
If he wants to have a crush on me, that's fine."

"That's probably a good idea. Most kids his age develop a crush on
somebody older. It is not unusual for them to even have a crush on an
adult. I have seen lots of shows on TV where a kid got a crush on his
teacher. After a while, reality sets in and their interest turns toward
someone their own age. Jeff has a very short attention span. I'm sure
that eventually he will find someone."

"He is a cute kid. But I can do the math. By the time he gets interesting
I'll be 18 or 19 years old. If I have a relationship with someone 13 or 14
at that time, I could go to jail. And by that time he might decide he
likes girls. If I discourage him, I could lose his friendship and even
hurt him. If I encourage him, he won't look for someone his own age. As
much as I'd like someone special in my life, I can't take advantage of a
nine-year-old. But if he wants to give me a hug or hold my hand, I'm not
going to turn him away. If he wants more than that, I'll just tell him I'm
not ready yet."

"I'm relieved to hear that, Ken. I really don't know either one of you
that well. And I don't know if you're the type that would take advantage
of him or not. I do know he would be easy to take advantage of right now.
Especially with you two sharing a room next weekend. I was 14 once too so
I know how horny you can be."

"Anything I need to take care of, I'll do by myself in the shower. If Jeff
is looking for some fun, he'll have to find it someplace else."

Mark seemed satisfied with Ken's answer. We went outside, got in my van,
and drove back to our house. Jeff came running outside to say hi. We went
riding the snowmobiles until we were all freezing cold. It was great fun.
Mark and I did all the driving.

We took Ken home and then went home. After dinner, Mark, Jeff, and I
worked out. Then we went upstairs because Sally was watching some corny
Christmas shows again so we went up to my room. I closed the door and
locked it. Mark took me into his strong arms and kissed me tenderly on the
lips. His tongue moved forward and pressed against my lips. I opened my
mouth and his tongue graciously entered. We tongue-wrestled for a while
before collapsing on our bed. He tenderly undid my shirt and removed it.
Then he removed my shoes and socks. Next, off came my pants. Then he gave
me a full body massage that I will never forget. My muscles were sore from
riding all day and working out. I tried to return the favor but he said it
was not necessary. I laid back and relaxed; the next thing I knew it was
Sunday morning.

We got up and dressed. Then we went to the old VFW Hall, which is our
temporary church. They already had a piano. There were folding chairs set
up for about 25 people. Dad must have worked hard to promote it because we
ended up with about a hundred people there. We set up a bunch more folding
chairs to accommodate all the people. Pastor Bradley's sermon was very
good. It looked like a great start for his new church. Dad was very
happy. Dad is not an overly religious person but he has a great heart. He
was a board member at the last church for two reasons. First, he is very
fair. Second, he was the church's biggest contributor. I would say that
about half of the people who showed up were from our old church.

After church we went home and had lunch. We watched football after lunch
and the Lions lost. What else is new? Then we took Jeff and went out
snowmobile riding. It was a cold day out so we didn't stay out long.
About a half-hour after coming inside there was a knock at the front door.
Mark was expecting his mother so he answered the door. Mark opened the
door and there stood his mom. He embraced and kissed her.

"You must be Jeff and Sally. I'm Mark's mother. You can call me Aunt
Grace."

"You were married to our daddy?" Sally asked.

"That's right. I'm so sorry that you lost your parents but I want you to
know that you have a family that loves you," Mrs. Adams said.

Both Jeff and Sally gave Mrs. Adams a big hug and a kiss. Jeff and Sally
are really lucky. I can't imagine what my dad must have gone through. He
only had my mom. Jeff and Sally have a brother, my parents, Mark's mom,
Sam, Norma, and the twins. I can't imagine how I would feel if something
happened to my parents.

Mrs. Adams and Jeff and Sally sat down together and got to know each other.
Sally crawled up on her lap and Jeff cuddled next to her. Dad got his
camera out and started taking pictures. Soon dinner was ready and we all
went to eat. After dinner we all watched TV until it was time for Jeff and
Sally to go to bed. They didn't argue too much. We told them Santa
wouldn't come if they were still awake.

About a half-hour after they went to bed, we all started getting the house
looking like Christmas. Mark and I brought in the Christmas tree, and Dad
helped set it up. Then Mom and Mrs. Adams started decorating it and we
went to Dad's store to pick up the presents. We took Mark's truck and my
van. Dad always buys us one big gift and then a bunch of stuff we need,
like clothes and stuff. We picked up everything and came home. By then
the tree was all decorated and Mrs. Adams had put the gifts that she had
brought under the tree. Jeff and Sally both had a couple of really big
boxes. I also had a really big square box that I was hoping was a TV.

Mom brought us out some eggnog that had a funny taste. After the second
glass I was feeling pretty good. I think there was something in there
besides eggs, milk, and sugar. Dad had been playing Christmas music and we
were all getting into the Christmas spirit. Mark and I got our gifts we
had bought and put them all under the tree. When we were finished, half
the living room was filled with presents and the tree. Dad took more
pictures and I sat on Mark's lap and hugged my man.

Soon we were all feeling quite tired and we went to bed. I fell asleep in
Mark's arms almost as soon as my head hit the pillow.

The next thing I know there was a knock at my door.

"Come in."

Jeff came running in our room and started jumping up and down on our bed.
Mark just groaned. My head hurt and I was really thirsty.

"Get up. Get up. Santa came. Santa came," Jeff shouted.

"We'll be down in a few minutes, Jeff."

"Hurry up, Papa Greg says we can't open up any presents until after you get
up and we have breakfast."

"You want to go running this morning, Mark?"

He just groaned again. I got up and went to the bathroom. Then I went
downstairs and got us both some ice water and some aspirin. My Dad just
laughed at me and warned me to stay away from the eggnog from now on if I
didn't want a headache the next day. I went back upstairs and gave Mark
the aspirin and ice water. Mark gulped down the water in one gulp and we
went and took our shower, brushed our teeth, and got dressed. We were
feeling better.

We went down for breakfast and Jeff finished eating in about 5 minutes and
then just waited impatiently. Then we went into the living room and Dad
started handing out the gifts. He always starts with the small stuff and
works his way up. Jeff and Sally got a bunch of clothes and toys. They
also each got a new bike. Mark's Mom cried when she opened the gift
certificate for the new tires. Mark and I exchanged our toolboxes and I
was glad that Mom and Dad didn't also get us one. I did get the TV and
satellite decoder I wanted.

"Mark, I have one more gift to give you," Dad said. "Two months ago I set
this up but so much was going on at the time I decided to wait to give it
to you."

Dad handed Mark a big envelope.

"That is a trust fund for your college education. I set it up for
$100,000.00 in a trust that matures when you are 18. It has already gained
$5,000.00 and by the time you start college it should be worth 150,000.00.
If you play your cards right you might be able to pay for your college out
of the interest and never touch the principal. You just need to keep your
grades up. You should have more than enough to become any kind of Doctor
you want."

Now it was Mark's turn for tears. He hugged Dad and thanked him. It
looked like Mark's dreams were going to come true. We all ended up in a
big group hug.

The group hug was interrupted by a knock at the door. Sam, Norma, and the
twins came in, and I watched as 10 people were all talking at once. We all
exchanged gifts and the twins and Jeff went downstairs to play. Mark and I
set up our TV and satellite decoder and it worked great. It had a 27-inch
screen and a built-in VCR. We were both really excited.

We went downstairs to talk with the folks. Mom and Mrs. Adams were busy in
the kitchen. We were having a turkey dinner again. We went down to the
basement to check on Jeff and the twins. They were wrestling. As soon as
the twins noticed us, they came after us. In no time we had all three of
them pinned. We asked them if they wanted to go for a ride on the
snowmobiles and they started jumping up and down. We hadn't been outside
more then an hour and the kids were cold. They hadn't dressed for
snowmobile riding. We went inside and got warmed up. Then we went riding
some more.

Dinner was a real feast and we were all quite stuffed. Mrs. Adams needed
to get home so she said goodbye to everyone. Sam and Norma were about to
leave when Jeff started begging to spend the night with the twins. Sam
looked at my dad and smiled and said that it was all right with him. My
dad also agreed and the boys started hopping and hollering. Sam told them
to calm down or else Jeff could not go. Looks like Jeff is going to have
some fun tonight. Perhaps they will help him forget all about Ken except
as a friend. I know that the twins like to play around.

The next day when Jeff got back, he was all smiles. I didn't ask him what
he was up to with the twins.

I decided it would be a good idea to get some skiing practice in before we
went on the trip Friday. There is a small ski hill about an hour away. We
picked up Ken, and Jeff, Mark, and I went skiing Tuesday. We got to the
ski hill and rented equipment for the guys. I have my own skiing
equipment. It was hard to find skis and boots big enough for Mark.
Someone his size usually has a hard time skiing.

We went on what's called 'the bunny hill', which is for beginners. There
is a tow rope that takes you to the top of the hill. I taught Mark, Ken,
and Jeff how to snowplow and turn. They seemed to learn how to fall on
their own. I explained to them if they're going to fall, it's best to fall
to their left or right. Falling forward is also okay but it's harder to
stop. Falling backward is something you don't want to do. The bindings on
the skis are not made to release, falling backward. Also if you fall
backward, it's hard to stop.

Mark seemed natural on skis. With all his martial arts and boxing
training, his reflexes and balance are excellent. Ken and Jeff also
learned very quickly. In no time we were on the intermediate hill. It was
quite cold outside and before long we were all quite cold. We went inside
to warm up.

"So, Jeff, did you have a good time with the twins last night?"

"Sure, they had all kinds of fun things to do. They showed me all the
stuff they got for Christmas. We played video games until it was time to
go to bed."

"So, where did you sleep, Jeff?"

"The twins have bunk beds that they sleep in and their mom gave me a
sleeping bag on the floor."

"Did you guys go right to sleep?"

Jeff blushed and then giggled. We all started giggling too. If anyone was
watching us, they must have thought we were crazy.

After we warmed up we went back out skiing the rest of the afternoon. By
then we were quite tired and our arms were sore from holding on to the tow
rope. The rope is about an inch and half to two inches thick and covered
with snow. You have to hold on real tight to not slip back down the hill.
You have to pick up the rope with your right hand and let it slide through
your glove. Then you reach your left arm behind your back and grab the
rope. Then you slowly increase your grab until you start moving up to
hill. It's pretty hard work. And then it only takes about 15 seconds to
go down the hill. So you spend most of your time trying to hang onto the
snowy rope going up the hill. Friday we're going up to Boyne Mountain Ski
Resort. There they have chair lifts. It takes about 10 minutes to ride up
the chair lifts and about two minutes to ski back down. It is a lot less
tiring.

Wednesday we just kind of hung out and went riding snowmobiles. Thursday
we went skiing again and took the twins with us. They also had their own
ski equipment. Before the end of the day we were all skiing on the hardest
run they had. I felt we were ready for our big weekend of skiing.
