Subject: Nick & Taylor

Outed at 14, not fun. The occasional whisper behind your back two years
later, not fun. Not caring what other people think about you anymore,
priceless. Some people are just plain ass holes. For everyone else, there's
me.

I'm Nick Owens. Like I said, two years ago, I was outed as gay. I was at my
then-friend Jason's house for his birthday. Because he lived out of town, I
had thought it'd be safe to bring my then-boyfriend, Ted. Ted & I had been
going out since we were 12 years old. Up til then, it had been a steady &
healthy relationship. The occasional whack off sessions together & the rare
blowjob every now & then. So I had figured it be ok to bring him as my
boyfriend to Jason's house.

Unfortunately, during the party, when Ted & I kissed at one point, some
took a picture of it, thus spreading the word, which eventually reached
Ted's & my school. We were made fun of & bullied for weeks. To say the
least, my mom was devestated about the whole thing. My dad was more upset
that his son was being bullied rather than gay, thank God.

Within a month, Ted moved away because he couldn't stand the harassment. He
didn't even say bye. I had to hear it about it on Myspace. I remember my
heart falling to pieces. The only relationship I had ever had was now
over. I was crushed.

Now, at 16, I was over it. I was comfortable with who I was & I also had
made more friends than I even had back then. Most of them were girls, but
at least that brought some guy friends too.

Several months, I was going into the boys' locker room when I overheard two
girls in the girls' locker room talking about boys they thought were cute
or hot. I decided to listen in to determine whether or not I agreed. I had
to admit, these girls had good taste in boys. There were three names that
caught my attention.

The first was my own name, which surprised me the most. I had a simple
brown mop of hair on my head which went down to my ears & then sort of
curled at the end, plus light brown eyes. I'd been told in the past I was
cute, but didn't really know. When they mentioned me, it was little more
than I expected to hear.

"I hate him" said the first girl, referring to me.

"Why?"

"Because he's gay. I can't believe God wasted such a hottie on gays. It
sucks. I think all the hot & cute boys should be straight, that way all the
others can be gay."

"I agree. Ugh, why do good looking people choose to be gay?"

"Nobody chooses to be gay Ashley, it's genetic. One of their parents is gay
& they pass it to their children."

I rolled my eyes. Can u spell 'failure'?

The second name was my best friend, Ben Rade. I had to admit, Ben was very
attractive. He was my height with dark brown, short hair & light blue eyes.
I had told him that I thought he was hot, but also promised to never try
anything because I valued him too much as my best guy friend. He was cool
with it.

The third name was Taylor Kips. Besides the fact that he had light blond
hair, deep green eyes, athletic but thin build from being on the school's
baseball team, was an A student in nearly all classes & was the center of
nearly all my sexual fantasies, I hated him.

When word got out I was gay, he was the first one to start the name
calling, the physical bullying, the whole thing. Nowadays, he was nice to
my face. But I knew that he was nasty to me behind my back. It hurt that
the seond boy I had ever been infatuated with hurt me like this. But being
human, I was drawn to his appearence, which is why I was always falling in
love with him.

So anyway, today, right after all the midyear teasts at school, my
chemistry teacher assigns us a huge project. Jack off. Assigns a project
when finally these tests are over, unbelievable.

Even more unbelievable was that I got paired with Taylor. I couldn't decide
if this was an absolute nightmare or practically a dream come true. Well,
either way, Taylor & I were now stuck with each other for the next three
weeks working on this stupid project.

"Hey Taylor" I said as I walked over to his desk when we all paired up.

"Hey" he said uncomfortably.

"So do you have an idea about what you'd wanna do for our project yet?" I
asked him.

"Um, no, not really."

Off to a good start.

"Ok...do you have the sheet he gave us?" I tried.

"Yup" he replied flatly. He handed me the assignment.

I looked it over. The teacher didn't even teach us these topics. At the top
it told us we would have to learn on our own how to do each thing.

"Do you wanna do 'Find the lethal dose of acetylsalicylic acid for a 150
pound person' topic?" I questioned.

"Sure. It's pretty easy stuff" he announced.

Fine, if he wanted to be that way.

"Well I don't know how to do it, so do you wanna come to my house later to
teach me how?" I asked.

"Um, sorry dude, I can't. I kind of have a personal thing right after
school to about...much later" he stammered.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's a personal thing, Nick" he said defensively.

I lowered my voice.

"More personal than the fact that you don't wanna work with someone who's
gay?" I said.

OH MAN! The look on his face was priceless. Imagine a teacher walking up to
you & saying that the biggest mistake your folks ever made was you. Well
that was what the look on his face looked like. It was a cross between
offended, hurt & pissed.

"Nick, that's not..." he ended.

"Taylor, I already know that you say things kind of behind my back. Trust
me, when you have as many girl friends as I do, you hear all gossip."

He stayed silent, turning his head towards the front board.

"Taylor, if you have a personal problem with my...preferences, I don't
care. But as long as you & me have to work together on this project, we're
just going to have to get along, ok?"

He looked back at me & nodded his head.

"Yeah I know."

"All right then. So how about coming over this afternoon?" I tried again.

"Sure I guess. I'll see you then" Taylor responded just as the last bell
rang.

**********

About an hour after school was over, Taylor showed up at the front door of
our house.

"Hi. What took you so long man?" I interrogated him.

"I got held up, sorry. I'm here now, ok?" he said, irritated.

I held up my hands in defense.

"Ok ok."

"So...where we working?" he asked me.

"We can work in my room" I answered, leading him to my room. I noticed he
was kind of checking out the house as we walked.

"Here we are" I said, opening my door.

"Cool."

**********

After a few hours of intense working, we both decided to take a break &
resume some other time. For the rest of the time, I struck up some
conversation.

"So what's up Taylor?" I said cheerily.

He lifted an eyebrow, cautious.

"I'm fine...I guess..." he said slowly.

"Can I ask you something?"

He hesitated but then spoke.

"Sure go ahead."

"Do you not like me because I'm gay? Or is it another reason?"

He ignored me for a moment.

"I don't know Nick. I guess it's just complicated or something. I'm sorry
though."

"Sorry for what?"

"I don't know, I guess I'm sorry for all the harassment since you got...you
know, outed. And I'm sorry for stuff I still say. I promise I'll stop, ok?"

"Ok."

I stood up just then.

"Well I need to use the bathroom, be right back" I said.

"Thanks for sharing Nick" he shot back, finally showing a lighter side of
himself to me.

I left the room, headed for the bathroom in the hallway & went in.

*** When I was finished, I washed my hands & then dryed them. Following
that, I headed back to my room where Taylor was. When I opened my door, a
tiny smile crept its way onto my face.

Taylor was laying on his belly on my bed, browsing through one of my
magazines. One of my very PRIVATE magazines if you catch my drift.

"What are you doing with my magazine?" I asked.

His eyes, legs & whole body just sprang up. I startled him so much he
nearly fell off the bed in shock. His face went deep red right there & he
dropped my second favorite magazine on the floor.

"Dude, sneaking up on people like that isn't cool you know" said rapidly,
trying to desperately change the subject.

"Yeah, but going through my drawers & look at my private stash of pron
isn't much better" I replied.

He couldn't regain composure at all. I almost felt bad for him.

"Taylor, breath, will ya? I'm not gonna rat you out or anything. Looking
briefly at a gay magazine doesn't make you gay. I mean, it HELPS, but..." I
said jokingly. It didn't seem to help him calm down though.

"Dude, relax."

"I better go..." he said, walking fast past me.

I followed him.

"Taylor, c'mon I was just teasin'. Don't leave."

He got to the front door, opened it & then left, leaving me in my house all
alone wondering what just happened.

When I went back to my room, I looked for the magazine & looked at it. Not
for entertainment, at the moment, but just because. I noticed that he was
on page three. That was weird. If he was skimming it, he would be much much
futher. Instead, he must have been actually reading the articles. Which
could mean he wanted to know what's in a gay magazine or...

Psh, yeah right. What are the chances?
