Now that I think about it, Halloween is a lot like my life. I sort of hide
my real self under a mask of some sort.  But also...I guess that mask has
to come off sooner or later, right?

It was Halloween today. The principal allowed students to come to school
today dressed up in costumes, obviously needing to be school appropriate.
It was pretty cool walking around the school seeing what other people were
dressed up as. In my opinion, the most offensive/funny costume was an
impersonation of Jesus, but more modern, with his long hair, white sports
coat, metal chain with a cross on it around his neck & giving prayers to
anything that walked by. He was sent home to change, but it was still
funny.

Jade & I had been invited to a fairly large Halloween party at the home of
a kid in our grade who was pretty popular. I was invited because I'm

Mr.  Torula had on an...interesting costume that day. He was dressed up as

Anyway, since it was coming closer & closer to winter every day, it was
becoming a lot colder.  I had dug out my winter coat which I had had for 3

must have been 40 or 50 kids from our grade.

There was a big screen tv for playing video games, on another tv Saw III
was playing, tons of food, decorated house, some people were playing huge

Fish card games at 7 large tables. There was music playing throughout the
house. It was great.

Instead of hanging out together, Jade & I split up, each of us going to do
different things. He watched the rest of Saw III while I played video games
& BS at one of the card tables.

"Let's go in here" he said, leading me towards a room.

"Jade, I think this is his parents' bedroom" I warned.

He closed the door after me. The light next to the bed was on.

Suddenly, the door open & Cam, the kid who was hosting this party came in.

"You guys can't be in here."

"Sorry" we said. We walked past him & out of the room.

Jade turned around.

"You know what..." I stopped him before he could finish anything. I told
him to just let it go.

We stayed for about an hour more & then my dad picked us up. We thanked Cam
for inviting us & left.
