Subject: Chapter 2 of Obsession
Bri, this isn't a big deal. Just tell him that you want to
break up with him. You can send him the ring back if he
wants," Mike said.
"I don't want to hurt him. I really thought I loved him. But
he is 46! I'm not going to lose my virginity to a 46 year
old!" Brian exclaimed.
"If he gets hurt, it's his own damn fault. He's the one who
lied to you, not the other way around. And the last part
about the dildo with no lube is just sick," Mike answered.
Brian and Mike had gotten really close in the last five
weeks, something neither of them had ever expected to
happen. They were now more like best friends than brothers.
Mike had told Brian that he had experienced some homosexual
affairs in college and that he was bi. He was now dating a
great looking woman doctor he had met at a conference, but
he still also looked at guys.
Brian had idolized Mike as he was growing up. Mike was 14
years older than he was, but he had always found time to
play with him when Mike was home, first from high school,
then college, then Medical School. Mike was now a
Pediatrician, but hoped to be a real doctor some day when he
grew up. (Sorry, Mike. I had to do it!!!! Hehehe)
"But he's moving here so we can be together. What can I do
about that?" Brian asked.
"I don't know. The quicker you tell him, the better. Do you
think he's on line now?" Mike asked.
"I was supposed to be on at 4. I'm really late. He's going
to be really mad when I do sign on," Brian answered.
"It's 5:30 now," Mike said, checking his watch.
"If I tell him, will you stay while I do?" Brian asked.
Mike just smiled. "Sure, if you want me too."
Brian quickly dialed in and activated AIM. Bill was waiting.
Bill: Why the FUCK do you do this to me?
Brian: Hi Bill. I've got something to tell you.
Bill: WHAT?
Brian: I'm sorry, but I have to break up with you. I'll
return your ring if you want me too.
Bill: WHY? You said you loved me!!!
Brian: Bill, I just can't be in love with a 46 yo.
There was nothing from Bill for several minutes. "What do
you think he's doing? Brian asked.
"Probably thinking. Maybe he can get his old job back.
There's no reason to move here now," Mike answered.
"I hope so," Brian answered.
Bill: DO YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I HAVE GIVEN UP FOR
YOU? I RESIGNED FROM MY JOB FOR YOU!!! I CHANGED MY WHOLE
LIFE JUST SO WE COULD FUCKING BE
TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Oh God. He's really mad now. What do I do?" Brian asked.
"Don't respond for a little bit and see if he calms down,"
Mike answered.
Brian tried that, but it only seemed to make Bill madder.
Bill: WHY AREN'T YOU GIVING ME COURTESY OF ANSWERING ME?
Bill: I KNOW YOU'RE STILL THERE!! AND I STILL LOVE YOU!!!!
Bill: ANSWER ME, GOD DAMN IT!!!!!
Bill: FUCK YOU!!! YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS!!! FUUUCCCKKK
YYYOOOUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"He's just getting madder? What do I do now?" Brian asked,
clearly shaken.
"I think you should just say bye and sign off for a while.
Maybe after a couple of days he will calm down. I don't
think there's any use in trying to talk to him right now.
He's like a mad man right now," Mike answered.
"Ok. I hope you know what you're talking about," Brian
answered.
Brian: Bye Bill.
Bill: DON'T LEAVE!!! DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE LEAVE ME RIGHT
NOW!!
Brian quickly ended his AIM session and completely signed
off the net.
"I was afraid that was going to happen," Brian said, looking
at Mike, almost in tears.
"Fuck him! You didn't do anything wrong, other than giving
out your personal information. He's the one that's been
lying to you all this time. Just forget about him. Go back
to your old sign on name and talk to your other friends.
Block his other screen name that you used to talk to him
on," Mike answered. "He just needs some time to calm down.
Maybe you can even be friends after he does."
"Yeah. I could do that. I did think I loved him for a long
time," Brian answered.
"It's Friday night. Why don't you call up some of your
friends and go out somewhere tonight?" Mike asked.
"What friends," Brian answered sullenly.
"What about Rob? You know he's still your best friend," Mike
answered, trying to get Brian in a better mood.
"I know. I just don't feel like doing anything right now,"
Brian answered, hanging his head down.
"Just give him a call. You need to do something to get your
mind off of Bill. Go to a movie or something. I'll even pay
for it. I know Rob won't be able to resist a free movie.
Tell him he can spend the night if he wants, like you used
to do," Mike said.
"Don't you think we're a little old to be having
sleepovers?" Brian asked, giving Mike a small grin.
"Besides, what if he thinks I'm going to do something to him
in bed?" Brian asked, getting depressed again.
"Come on, Bri. You know Rob isn't going to think anything
like that. How many times have you two slept in the same
bed? Hundreds, I'll bet. You didn't just turn gay last
month, you know," Mike answered, playfully shoving Brian.
"Cut it out. You don't me to have to whip your old out-of-
shape butt, do you?" Brian asked, standing up.
"That'll be the day, little brother," Mike said, as he
attacked Brian. He quickly pinned him on the bed and said,
"Are you going to call Rob or do I have to use my most
effective way of getting you to do what I want?"
"What's that?" Brian asked, as he struggled to get up from
under Mike.
"Tickle torture, like I've used for years," Mike answered,
grabbing Brian with both hands in his ribs.
Brian had always been very ticklish. "NOOO!!!!! DON'T!!!" he
screamed.
Mike tickled him for a few seconds, then stopped. "Are you
going to call Rob?"
"YES!!! YES!!!! Just get off of me!!" Brian screamed.
"And you're going to ask him to spend the night?" Mike
asked.
"I'll ask him to go to a movie, but I can't ask him that,"
Brian said seriously.
"Ok, have it your way," Mike answered, as his hands went
back to Brian's ribs.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! OK!! OK!!! I'LL DO IT. JUST
QUITTTTT!!!!" Brian screamed.
Mike let him go and stood up. Brian just laid on the bed and
tried to catch his breath. "I'm going to kill you for that,"
Brian said, grinning.
"You want another dose?" Mike laughed, as he faked going
after Brian again.
"No! Quit! Just get out of my room so I can call Rob," Brian
giggled.
"Ok. Tell him hi for me. I'll grill some burgers while you
are gone so you'll have something to eat when you get back,"
Mike answered, walking out of Brian's room.
"Hey Mike?" Brian asked.
Mike stuck his back into his room. "Yeah?"
"Thanks bro," Brian answered, smiling at Mike.
Mike smiled back. "No problem."
Brian got up and picked up the phone, hesitated, and put it
back down. He had promised Mike to ask Rob to spend the
night, but he was scared at what Rob might say. He couldn't
afford to lose any of the few friends he had left, and he
sure couldn't lose Rob.
He finally took a deep breath and picked up the phone again.
He might as well get it over with.
The phone started to ring and then Rob said "Hello?"
"Hey Rob. Bri. You doing anything tonight?" Brian asked.
"Nope. I was reading a book for English. I'm bored stiff.
What's up?" Rob asked.
"Mike wants me out of the house so bad he volunteered to pay
for movie tickets for both of us. You want to go?" Brian
asked.
"Sure! That'd be great! Spiderman just opened this week. I
really want to see it but I'm broke," Rob answered.
"Me too. I guess Mike took pity on me," Brian answered. He
took another big breath and said, "Mike said it was Ok for
you to spend the night if you wanted."
"That'd be cool. We haven't done that in a long time," Rob
answered.
`Yeah, not since my Dad outed me to the whole school,' Brian
thought. "Great. Can you pick me up?"
"Sure. That's only fair, with Mike buying the movie tickets.
What time is the movie?" Rob asked.
"I don't have a clue. Mike suggested it and I haven't looked
yet," Brian admitted.
"Hold on a minute. I was just looking at the sports section
in the kitchen. I'll be right back," Rob answered.
`That's a good sign,' Brian thought. `Rob doesn't have any
worries about sleeping over now that he knows I'm gay. Maybe
I was worried about nothing.'
"There's one at 8 and one at 8:30", Rob said, as he
returned.
"I'll bet it will sell out, being the first weekend. Maybe
we should try for the 8 o'clock show. That way, we'll have
two chances if the first one is sold out," Brian answered.
"Good idea. Why don't I pick you up at about 7? We'll be
really early, but we can buy our tickets and then walk
around the mall until time to go in," Rob said.
"That'll work. We should have a lot better chance of getting
tickets if we're early," Brian answered.
"Deal. I'm going to take a quick shower and change clothes.
See you at 7," Rob said.
"Bye," Brian answered, hanging up the phone.
Brian thought a shower sounded good. He had some unfinished
business from earlier that he wanted to take care of in the
shower. He got out a fresh pair of boxers and started to
walk into his bathroom, when curiosity got the better of
him. He wondered if Bill had e-mailed him.
He quickly dialed into the net and checked his e-mail
account. Sure enough, there was one waiting for him from
Bill. He opened it.
I'm sorry I got so mad. I just love you so much. Please give
me another chance. We can work this out, I swear. We are
only a short amount of time from being able to love each
other in person. I want that and I know you do too.
We deserve a chance to see if this will work with the
differences in our ages. Please wait and talk to me in
person before you try to find someone else. I deserve that
much.
I really love you.
Bill
`Oh no. That sounds like he's going to move here anyway,'
Brian thought. `I really don't want to see him. If he got as
mad in person as he does over the net, I don't want to be
around him when he's like that.'
Brian temporarily forgot about the shower. He quickly signed
off and ran into the other room to tell Mike about the e-
mail.
******************
Rob drove up to the house exactly at 7. He parked in the
driveway and ran up the steps. He was excited about going to
see Spiderman.
He knocked and Brian let him in. They smiled at each other
as Rob excitedly talked about the Spiderman movie trailer
that he had already watched on his computer.
Mike had already given Brian a twenty dollar bill for the
movie and another ten so they could get popcorn and drinks.
Rob came in long enough to say hello to Mike, and they
hurried out the door.
They were laughing and cutting up like they had done all
their lives. Rob casually put his arm around Brian's
shoulder as they walked out to his car.
It was totally innocent. Just two best friends enjoying each
other's company. To everyone but one person.
Mike's house was only three houses away from the community
tennis courts. No one noticed the green Jeep Cherokee parked
under a tree. The windows were tinted and no one could see
that the driver had binoculars, watching a few minutes
before Rob pulled into the driveway.
Bill saw everything in detail. He was already furious when
Rob drove up, but nothing like he was when Rob put his arm
around Brian. But that put him over the edge. He cranked his
Jeep and pulled out behind the boys as they passed where he
was sitting.
Bill had moved in the previous day. He was early.
