			      Pride and Love


This story startsout with two 15 year old boys. They are best friends and
would do anything for one another. Heath is about 5 feet 9 inches tall, he
has jet black hair that is cut very neat and eyes that are so blue that
when looking into them it almost looks like you could go swimming, He is
not heavy but just has that little bit of baby fat around the middle.
Jeremy is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, has very short blonde hair, he gets
cut every summer, and also has blue eyes that look as light as the
sky. They both go to the same school and are in the same grade and each has
an overpowering friendship type of love for each other. Jeremy is the
sportsman while Heath is the brainy one. Heath has spent many hours helping
Jeremy with his school work. Heath will not let Jeremy fail. Heath has an
even deeper love for Jeremy becuase Heath has know since he was about 10
years old that he was gay. It is the only thing that has been kept from
Jeremy. Heath's mom and dad know of his sexual orientation and have told
Heath many times that they understand his desire to keep this secret from
Jeremy but tell him not to underestimate Jeremy's understanding. Heath
however feels that if he tells Jeremy that it will end their friendship
forever. Heath is just not willing to take that chance.
   Jeremy called Heath on Monday morning and asked if it would be okay if
he stayed and his house for a few days because his parents were going to a
relatives wedding and Jeremy though invited did not want to go. Jeremy's
parents told him that if he could find a place to stay for the four days
that they would be gone then he would not have to go. Jeremy called Heath
and told him what was going on and Heath as always was the one to come
through. He said that he would have to ask his parents but did not think it
would be a problem. Heath told Jeremy that he would call as soon as he
found out. Heath's parents came hom eand he told them of the situation and
of course they said yes. Heath called Jeremy and gave him the good news.
Jeremy told Heath that he would be coming over on Thursday and would be
there through Monday morning and then said good-bye to Heath and hung up.
As the week went on both boys were getting excited about the coming
weekend. Jeremy because he was able to stay with his best friend for four
days. Heath on the other hand was excited as well but from a much
differrent standpoint. Heath loved Jeremy and would never do anything to
jeopordize that But decided that this was the weekend that he would come
out to Jeremy.
   Thursday arrived very quickly for Jeremy and all to fast for Heath. They
had played video games most of the evening and as it turned 11:00 Jeremy
said he was getting tired and wanted to go to bed. Heath' s heart jumped
into his mouth. Heath told Jeremy That he would get the sleeping bag out of
the closet and would set it up and then they could decide which one would
sleep in it. Jeremy looked at Heath and said you are my best friend and I
have no intention of having you sleep on the floor in your own room.  Heath
said that it would not be that bad and that he really did not mind. Jeremy
said well I do and your bed is big enough for both of us and that is that.
Heath looked at Jeremy and said okaybut I have to talk to you. Jeremy sat
down on the bed and patted the matress next to him and said have a seat and
lets get it done. Heath said ok but I need to go to the bathroom first.
While Heath was in the bathroom Jeremy as usual took off his cloths and was
sitting on the side of the bed when Heath came back into the room.  Heath
walked over to the side of the bed and sat down. Jeremy looked at him and
said whats wrong you look like you just lost your best friend. Heath
cleared his throat and sdaid Jeremy please try not to say anything until I
finish. Jeremy look him in the eyes and said no problem.
  Heath started by saying that there was no one in the world that he loved
more than Jeremy and that this was going to be very hard for him to do.
Jeremy look at Heath and had a very strange look on his face. He had to
interupt and said Heath you can tell me anything but you are scaring me and
you need to tell me before I go crazy. Heath took a deep breath and said
Jeremy and then there was this lump in his throat, he swallowed hard and as
he did Jeremy noticed that he was beginning to cry. Jeremy put his arm
around Heath and held him for a minute and said man you never have to be
afraid to tell my anything. Heath looked at Jeremy with tears running down
his face and said if you want to leave after I tell you I will understand.
Jeremy started to say somethingand was stopped by Heath putting his finger
to Jeremy's lips. Heath looked Jeremy deeply in the eyes and said I'M
GAY. He got up and started to walk away when Jeremy came up from behind
spun him around hung him and held on until Heath had stopped crying. Jeremy
said Heath I though you were going to tell me something really bad. Heath
had a puzzled look on his face and said Jeremy I just told you I was
gay. Jeremy kissed him softly on the cheek and said Heath I have know that
for several years. I did not mind then and I don't mind know. Now if you
are finished can we go to bed I am tired. Heath said you want to sleep in
the same bed with me. Jeremy looked at heath with a big smile on his face
and said do you plan to rape me or something. Heath said NO. Jeremy looked
at the clock and said it's 12:00 are you going to ever shut up. Jeremy woke
up about 4:00 in the morning and went to the bathroom and when he got back
into bed he kisssed Heath on the forehead and said I love you to babe.  He
then curled up next to Heath and fell back to sleep. The next morning Heath
woke up first and found himself in Jeremy's arms and was so happy that he
started to cry. Jeremy woke up and looked at Heath and said you gry an
awful lot are gay and started laughing and Heath just could not believe
what Jeremy had just said and stared laughing as well. Heath got out of bed
and had the usual morning wood. Jeremy had the same problem. He walk up to
heath and said is that a banana in your shorts or are you really glad to
see me. Heath said please Jeremy this is hard enough on meI just then
Jeremy put his finger to Heath's lips looked him in the eyes and said Heath
I love you to. Heath looked at Jeremy and started to ask if he was gay but
was stopped by Jeremy again and he said I have loved you since we first
met. So lets put this behind us and get something to eat I'm starving.
  After breafast was over Jeremy told Heath that he had to stop over at the
high school to talk to the coach. Heath asked if he wanted him to go along
and Jeremy said nah I will only be gone for about an hour. Don't worry I
will be right back after that. Heath said you don't have to do that and
Jeremy said Look I have to keep my boyfriend happy don't I. Heath looked at
Jeremy and said do you mean that. Jeremy walked up to Heath and took him by
the sides of his face and said with all my heart and then kissed him softly
on the lips. Jeremy turned and left.  Heath turned and called for his
mother and she was upstairs and heath ran upstairs to tell her the good
news. However heath missed a step and lost his balance and fell down the
stairs and hit his head on the corner of the railing post. His mother came
to see what happened and ran down the stairs to her son who was lying there
motionless and bleeding from the back of his head. She got up got a cloth
and wet it then placed it under his head then called for the fire
department. They were there in minutes. They examined him annd said that
they would be taking him to St Joseph's hospital. They put him in the
ambulance and were off. Just as they turned the corner Jeremy was coming up
the street and saw that heath's mom and dad running out to the car. he ran
up and they told him what had happened and they all went to the
hospital. Jeremy was the first one in the hospital and ask were Heath was
and was told he was getting ready for surgery as soon as his parents
arrived and signed the paperwork Jeremy was in tears and said get him in
there now, You can't waste any time. Heath's mom and dad were just coming
in the door when Jeremy ran up to them and said that they needed to sign
the papers before they will do anything. Heath's dad said he would take
care of that right now and for Jeremy to go sit by his wife. Jeremy went
over and sat down and started to cry. Heath's mom put her arms around him
and said are you OK. Jeremy said That Heath just told him last night that
he was gay and that it was a dream come true for me. I have loved Heath
since the first time I sa him but never thought that heath would feel the
same and when he finally found out that Heath loved him as much as he love
Heath this had to happen.  It was all my fault if I had not gone to the
high school this would not have happened. I will make you a promise that I
will never leave him again. I will be by his side every hour of every
day. Nothing bad will ever happen to him again I will protect him the rest
of his life. Hours later after Jeremy had cried himself to sleep on Heath's
moms lap The doctor came in and said that they did all that they could do
and that they would just have to wait and see what was going on and that
the next 24 hours will tell. Jeremy was just getting up as the doctor was
leaving. He loooked at Heath's mom and said hes going to be fine
right. Heath's mom said that the next 24 hours will tell. Jeremy eyes
started to fill with tears againand he said I will stay with him forever I
will never leave his side. He asked what room and he then went to start his
vigil. Heath's mom told his dad what Jeremy had said and Heath's dad said
that explains alot. Jeremy went into Heath's room and never made a sound.
He quietly put the chair next to the bed and sat there holding Heath's
hand. Jeremy was lost to see Heath laying there and not moving. Heath's mom
and dad came in very quietly as well and stood there and watched and
listened to Jeremy pray and talk to Heath. Every day for three weeks Jeremy
was at the hospital at 8:00am sharp and never left until the nurse told him
he had to go. Jeremy like every other time he left he wrote hi number down
and said call me if anything changes Please. The nurse as always agreed.
Jeremy on his walk home from the hospital stopped to get something to eat
It was 9:45pm when his phone rang. He took it out of his pocket and saw the
hospital number and drop his food and answered the phone. The nurse said
you can come back if you want Heath is awake and asking for you. Jeremy was
there in minutes and was outside the door to Heath's room when the nurse
came out and smiled and said you can go in now. Jeremy went in and saw
Heath looking back at him and started to cry. Heath said I am so sorry I
did this to you. You must hate me. Jeremy walked over to the side os
Heath's bed and said you never have to say your sorry to me. You are my
life and my boyfriend and I will wait til eternity Just to be by you
side. Jeremy said that he had to go but would be back at 8:00 am sharp and
then we can talk.
     Jeremy was at the hospital right at 8:00 sharp and walked in and saw
Heath and his mom and dad there and they were waiting for the doctor. When
the doctor arrived he let them know that there will be perminent muscle
damage and as far as how much only time will tell. Heath started to cry and
he was immediatly comforted by Jeremy. Jeremy said Heath if it is OK with
your mom and dad I would like to move in and take are of you. I have
already told my parents that that was what I was going to do.  I guess that
it is up to your mom and dad now. Jeremy said please let me take care of
him I love him so much and i really need to do this. Heaths mom and dad
said that it was fine with them but Jeremy's parents would have to call and
give their OK.
     The next day Jeremy was busy moving him belongings into Heath's
room. He had brought a cot to sleep on and had no intention of leaving
Heath alone.
