PREVIOUSLY ON "RELATIONSHIPS"

Jeff was on the phone in his new apartment calling
up an aquantence of his.
"Harvy Lewis?" Jeff asked on the phone "Yes, this is
Jeff Morales....I know it has been a while....No, I'm
calling because I have a job for you....I need you to
give me any information you can about a guy named Alex
Grant....yes that's right.....He's a senior in high
school....Why do I want information on him? Harvy,
why ask questions if your getting paid? Just do
it....all right....goodbye."

"Well, I looked up your friend Alex Grant." Harvy
began "...I found out that he had a previous
boyfriend."
"So?" I asked
"Well his ex-boyfriend's name is Dean Horowitz." Harvy
said "And he's in jail."
"What?" I asked suprised
"Yup." Harvy replied "... he's in jail on charges of
being involved in a gang related crime."
"When will he be released?" I asked intrigued
"Next month."Harvy replied
"Listen, when this Dean Horowitz gets out of jail I
want you to get me a location of where I can contact
him at. I have some business to discuss with him." I
said smiling
********************************************
Jeff went to the LA County Jail to make a visit to
Alex's ex-boyfriend, Dean Horowitz. Jeff was going to
wait until Dean got out of jail, but was too excited
of the opportunity to set up a meeting with him. Jeff
sat down at a table with a glass window in the center
that seperated him from the prisoners and then he saw
Dean sit down in front of him. Dean was about 6'2
piercing blue eyes, dark hair, had that dangerous good
looking thing going on for him. Jeff and Dean picked
up the phones to communicate on and Jeff began the
conversation.
"Hello Dean." Jeff said calmly
"Who are you?" Dean asked
"My name is Jeff. I know an old friend of yours."
Jeff replied

"Well?" Jeff asked "Do you still love Alex?"
"How do you expect me to answer that?" Dean asked "I
hardly know you."
"Yes, well I'm the one who can get you two back
together. All I need to know is if you still want
him?" Jeff asked smiling his devilish smile.
"You said he's in a relationship with a bad guy?" Dean
asked
"Yes, and I believe that you can redeem him." Jeff
replied
Dean thought it over for a minute.
"All right. When I get out of here, I'll go to him."
Dean said
"Great." Jeff replied

"Ray get off of me." Alex said
"I know you want it. Just admit it." Ray said in the
same manner in which Taylor told him in his dream.
"Oh God." Alex said worried
Ray then grabbed Alex and dragged him into his
bedroom. Alex tried to punch Ray, but that only made
Ray angrier and Ray punched Alex in the stomach
causing Alex to fall over. Ray then through Alex on
the bed and slammed the door to his bedroom shut.

"I'm so sorry." Ray said
"It's okay. Everything's going to be okay." Alex
replied
Ray and Alex sat there for a long time, just holding
one another.

"I'm just being paid to do what you want me to do. Do
you think I want to be spending my time flirting with
Alex, when all I want to do is be with you?" Taylor
said
"Excuse me?" Jeff asked shocked to what Taylor
revealed to him.

"Well, what do you say?" Taylor asked
"That wasn't too bad." Jeff replied then gave Taylor a
quick kiss "I'll think about it."
Taylor looked a little upset.
"You'll think about it?" Taylor asked frowning a
little.
"Yes, you should be grateful. But, before I think
about the possibility of us, I still need you to
distract Alex for me." Jeff said
"For how long?" Taylor asked upset
"Just until Alex's ex-boyfriend gets out of jail, then
when his boyfriend his here, he'll do the rest." Jeff
replied
*******************************************************
AND NOW AN ALL NEW "RELATIONSHIPS" ENTITLED "DEAN'S
BIG ENTRANCE"
****LA COUNTY JAIL****
Dean was finally released and walked outside and just
took a moment to absorb the fact that he's free.
Although, he was really at square one; no money, no
home, his parents didn't accept him anymore. He
needed money, and he thinks he found of a way to get
some. He looked up and saw Jeff walking towards him.
"Jeff, what are you doing here?" Dean asked
"I came to bring you to my place, so we can get you
all ready to reunite with Alex." Jeff said
"Oh, thanks." Dean said holding out his hand to Jeff.
Jeff looked down at Dean's hand extended toward him
and looked back up at Dean.
"Let's get you cleaned up before I shake that hand."
Jeff said "Come to my car."
Jeff turned around and headed to his car and Dean
followed.
"So, you'll come back to my place. We'll get you
cleaned up, make you look presentable. Then I'll take
you to Alex." Jeff said
"Jeff, before I go anywhere with you, let's talk
money." Dean said
"What about money?" Jeff asked facing Dean, curious as
to what Dean was getting at.
"I expect that I'll be getting paid for this." Dean
said
"Excuse me? I'm reuniting you with the man you love
and you want me to pay you?" Jeff asked unamused.
"Well I was thinking, you must have gone through a lot
of trouble to find me and I know it's not out of the
goodness of your heart. You need me a lot more than I
need you. So, I'll say it again, let's talk money."
Dean said threateningly "Or I'm not going with you."
****RAY'S APARTMENT****
Ray was sitting at the table with his laptop on doing
some work. After working an hour, he got tired and
decided to give Alex a call. He waited for four
rings, then he got Alex's voicemail.
"Hey Alex, it's Ray. Just give me a call when you
can. Thanks." Ray said then he hung up.
****ALEX'S WORK****
Alex was sitting at the video store talking to David
when his cell phone rang. He looked down and saw
'RAY' show up on the caller ID.
"Who is it?" David asked
"Ray." Alex replied
"Are you going to answer it?" David asked as the phone
rang for a third time.
Alex didn't reply, he just looked down at the phone,
it rang once more then it stopped.
"Why didn't you answer it?" David asked
"I just didn't feel like talking to him." Alex replied
"Still thinking of breaking up with him?" David asked
"No, it's not that." Alex began "It's just, I can't
exactly feel comfortable with him the way that I used
to."
"Well, that's understandable." David said
"I mean, I love him, that's why I decided to stay with
him, but it's just hard." Alex said sighing.
"I know." David replied
"Excuse me." A female customer said walking up to the
counter.
"Yes?" Alex asked
"I was wondering if you had the movie 'Cruel
Intentions'." The customer asked
"Hold on let me check." Alex said going to the
computer.
He typed up the film title.
"Yea, we have it in stock, it's in the drama section."
Alex said
"Okay, thanks." The customer said then walked off.
Alex turned to the computer again and noticed the
date.
"Oh wow." Alex said quietly.
"What is it?" David asked
"Today's March 30, 2003." Alex said
"So?" David asked curious
"Dean gets out of jail today." Alex replied
"Dean? Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in a
while." David said "How did you know he got out
today?"
"Because I remember when he got put in prision. They
told me how long he would be in jail for and I got the
date of his release and it just always stuck with me."
Alex said
"Does Ray know about Dean?" David asked
"No." Alex replied "He doesn't even know that I had a
boyfriend before him."
"Why didn't you tell him?" David asked
"Because, Dean was apart of my life that I want to
forget about." Alex said
"You two were together for so long." David said
"Yea, and most of that time he was lying to me. He
said that he wasn't apart of that gang, but sure
enough he was." Alex said "He got what he deserved."
Meanwhile, back in front of the LA County Jail.
"What kind of game are you trying to pull here?" Jeff
asked
"One that will make me rich." Dean replied
"And what makes you believe I'm so rich?" Jeff asked
"Well, the Jaguar for one, and I noticed you were
wearing a Rolex when you came to talk to me before."
Dean answered
"Impressive." Jeff replied
"I'm very observant." Dean said with a half-smile.
"Amazing." Jeff said said to himself, laughing a
little
"What's that?" Dean asked
"That such a goody, goody like Alex could fall for
someone that has some very dirty tricks up his
sleeve." Jeff replied
"Don't insult Alex like that." Dean said sharply
"No one tells me what to do." Jeff answered "But since
I'm pleasently suprised that you have some fire to
you, I'll give you some money."
"Fine, let's go." Dean said
Dean and Jeff then headed to Jeff's car and started
driving back to Jeff's apartment.
As they were driving Dean sat back and thought about
happier times with Alex.
****FLASHBACK****
Dean and Alex were sitting on his bed kissing.
"We should probably finish our homework." Alex said
breaking the kiss.
"Probably." Dean replied then began kissing Alex some
more.
"We don't want to fail the class." Alex said breaking
the kiss again.
"Yea, failing is bad." Dean said quickly and then
kissed Alex more.
"No, come on. Let's finish the homework." Alex said
breaking the kiss one last time.
"All right." Dean said sighing.
The two of them picked their books up and started
doing their homework.
"Hey Alex." Dean said
"Yea?" Alex asked, still concentrating on the paper he
was writing.
"Look at me for a second." Dean said putting his hands
over Alex's. Alex looked up at Dean.
"What is it?" Alex asked
"I've never had such strong feelings for someone
before." Dean began "I mean, we've only been dating
for a couple months, but I can't help it. I love you.
And I promise I'll never hurt you in any way."
Alex grew a wide smile on his face, and then wrapped
his arms around Dean.
"I love you too." Alex said
Dean just smiled looking at the man he loves.
"I guess we should finish our homework." Dean
suggested.
"Screw our homework." Alex said still having his arms
around Dean.
"I was hoping you would say that." Dean said laughing
and then began kissing Alex again.
****END FLASHBACK****
Jeff smiled to himself remembering and determined to
bring that relationship back.
****ALEX'S WORK****
"He got what he deserved?" David asked "That sounds a
little callice."
"No it's not. It's true. That whole relationship was
pretty much one big lie." Alex replied defensively.
"I don't think he was lying when he said he loved
you." David said
"No, he was lying when he said he wasn't involved that
gang." Alex said "He lied to me when he said he would
never hurt me."
"How could you defend him after what he did? He lied
to everyone." Alex said
"But I think he was just trying to protect you." David
said
"Protect me? He should have been honest with me. Him
and I were together for two years, he should have told
me he was in trouble." Alex said
"And what would you have done if he did tell you?"
David asked
Alex was quiet for a minute thinking about what he
might have done. "I guess we'll never know."
****JEFF'S APARTMENT****
"All right, here's your check." Jeff said handing the
check to Dean "I'm paying you very handsomely to do
this, so don't mess up."
"Thank you." Dean said looking at the check. "So,
where can I get cleaned up?"
"Bathroom is down the hall to the right." Jeff said
pointing Dean in the right direction. "Oh and Dean."
Dean stopped and turned around to face Jeff.
"What?" Dean asked
"I do expect that after today you will be getting a
place of your own to stay at with that money I gave
you." Jeff said
Dean gave a half smile.
"Very well." Dean replied then turned around and
headed towards the bathroom.
****ALEX'S WORK****
"You idiot, just call Ray." David said to Alex holding
up the phone.
"Fine." Alex replied taking the phone from David.
Alex then dialed Ray's number.
****RAY'S APARTMENT****
"Hello?" Ray asked picking up the phone.
"Hey." Alex replied
"Alex!" Ray said happily. "I tried calling you."
"Yea, sorry. I was away from my phone." Alex said,
David looked over at Alex with that last comment and
gave Alex an accusing look. Alex looked away
sheepishly.
"I was wondering, well, hoping that you wanted to come
over tonight." Ray said
"Come over tonight?" Alex asked looking at David.
"Yes." David said to Alex.
"Um, sure." Alex replied to Ray.
"Great!" Ray said smiling.
"I have to get back to work." Alex said
"All right. Yea, I have to do some work to." Ray
replied
"So, I'll see you later." Alex said
"Yea, bye...I love you." Ray added in.
"Same." Alex replied then hesitated for a moment. "I
love you too, I mean."
Then Alex hung up.
"Okay, that seemed akeward." David said
"Thank you Mr. Obvious." Alex replied sarcastically
****JEFF'S APARTMENT****
"Dean, are you ready yet?" Jeff asked Dean who was in
the other room.
"Almost." Dean replied looking at himself in the
mirror making sure he looked all right. As he was
finishing buttoning up his shirt, he began to feel a
sting of guilt over what he's about to do. He was
beginning to wonder if he would just end up hurting
Alex even more then he already had...
****FLASHBACK****
Alex and David were driving around looking for
Dean.
"Where are they?" Alex asked
"I don't know. I don't see anyone." David replied
The next thing they knew they heard gun shots.
"Dean." Alex said woriedly then sped up trying to
drive towards the area he heard the gun shots. When
he finally saw them, cars were peeling out and driving
away. Alex saw Dean sitting on the ground hovering
over someone.
"Oh my God." David said gravely. "Should we go to
Dean?"
"I can't move." Alex replied said soberly
Alex and David sat there in the car in disbelief and
the next thing they knew that saw police cars go and
surround Dean and the body he was sitting over. An
hour later, the police were questioning everyone,
witnesses, the gang members that were caught and Dean.
"So tell us what happened?" A female police officer
asked Dean.
"I told you. My friend was trying to get out of the
gang and I went there to help him out if he needed to
and then a fight just broke out." Dean answered wiping
some of the blood off of his face. He then looked
over at the paramedics working on his friend, Russ.
"Is he going to be all right?" Dean asked
Alex and David finally got over the shock and got out
of the car and walked closer to the scene.
"Oh my God." Alex said in disbelief.
"Alex." Dean called out.
Alex stood there looking at Dean in shock, then he
looked over and saw the body the paramedics were
working on was Russ.
"It's Russ." Alex said to David.
"Oh no." David said shocked.
Alex ran up towards Dean.
"What happened?" Alex asked
"How did you know I was here?" Dean asked
"Cheryl over heard you talking to Russ about helping
him with a gang situation in this area. David and I
have been driving around for the past hour looking for
you." Alex said
"Looking for me?" Dean asked
"Yea, I couldn't believe what Cheryl was telling me. I
couldn't believe that you were actually involved with
that gang." Alex said
"Did you just say that he was involved with the gang?"
the female police officer asked Alex.
"No, it's not like that at all." Dean said "I'm not
involved with this gang."
"I was asking this gentleman here." The police officer
said pointing to me.
"I'm not involved with the gang Alex." Dean said
"And that would explain you being here?" Alex asked
"No, Alex please believe me." Dean said
"How can I?" Alex asked
"Sir, we're going to have to bring you into the
station for more questioning." the female police
officer said to Dean.
"Alex, I need you. Please, help me." Dean said
Alex stood there in complete confusion, not knowing
what to do.
****END FLASHBACK****
Dean debated whether to leave Alex alone, but he
loved him too much.
"Just do it. It could all work out." Dean said to
himself.
"Are you ready?" Jeff asked again.
"Yea, yea." Dean replied
"You wearing the clothes I left out for you to wear?"
Jeff asked
"Yes." Dean replied
"Good, now hurry up. I'm going to drop you off at
Alex's work." Jeff said
Dean finally came out of the bedroom and headed
towards Jeff.
"Finally. Come on. Let's go. Alex is going to be
leaving soon, the video store closes in about 15
minutes." Jeff said
****ALEX'S WORK****
"Alex, I'm going to take off." David said
"All right." Alex replied "Thanks for the talk today."
"No problem. I'll call you later." David said
"Hey Alex." A voice said from behind them. Alex and
David turned around and saw...
"Ray, what are you doing here?" Alex asked
"I just really wanted to see you." Ray said
"Well, I'll leave you two alone." David said heading
towards the door. "See ya Ray."
"Bye David." Ray replied
After David left Ray went over to Alex.
"So, you get off soon right?" Ray asked
"Yea, I just need to close up." Alex replied
"Great." Ray said smiling.
"Yea." Alex said feeling a little uncomfortable.
Alex began doing a little clean up in the video store,
making sure all the tv's were off, wiping off the
counters, putting the money from the cash register
away, etc. The whole time Alex and Ray didn't say
anything to each other. After Alex was done he went
over to Ray.
"Okay, let's go." Alex said
"Alex, maybe we shouldn't do this." Ray said
'What do you mean?" Alex asked
"Maybe you shouldn't come over tonight. I mean, I
want you to, but I think you're still too
uncomfortable around me. Maybe you need more time
before we do this." Ray suggested
"No, that's why we should do this tonight. I don't
want to feel uncomfortable around you, I want it to be
how it used to." Alex said
"Are you sure?" Ray asked
"Yes." Alex replied
"Okay, let's go." Ray said
Ray and Alex began heading for the door, but then Alex
froze in his steps looking at the person in the door
way of the video store.
"Hey Alex." Dean said
"Oh my God." Alex replied in shock.
"You know Alex?" Ray asked Dean
"Yes, very well." Dean replied
"My name's Ray." Ray said holding out his hand to
Dean.
"Dean Horowitz." Dean replied "Does the name sound
familiar?"
"Should it?" Ray asked
"Oh, well I would have thought Alex would have
mentioned me. After all, I was his first boyfriend."
Dean said
"What?" Ray asked shocked then he looked over at Alex,
who was still staring at Dean in disbelief.
Back outside of the video store Jeff was driving away
smiling to himself.
"Have fun Alex." Jeff said to himself...
