"Hi my name is Lou and you must be Benny and?"

surrounded by lights and with a couple of cameras already set up.

Benny answered for both of them. One of the guys working on setting up the
lights and cameras introduced himself as Stan and began to talk to them
about what they required from the guys, "Benny we want you on the bed

touched but there was a note from a real estate company pinned to the

the hands of a developer and anyone entering would be arrested for

"It looks like we might have to find another squat."  Benny explained, "But
not till tomorrow." He continued.  They settled down for the night after a

Both were awake early next morning and Benny suggested that Roy take

found and they would collect them later when they had found somewhere else

Once this was done they set off to McDonalds for breakfast and had just

we got out just in time." Benny remarked with Roy agreeing with him.

Over breakfast Roy asked, "Do you have any ideas as to where we are going
to live?"

"There is one place but we have to ok it with Big Jimmy and also pay him
protection money although he calls it rent."

"Who the hell is big Jimmy?" Roy asked with some concern in his voice.

Laughing Benny replied, "You'll see soon enough and don't worry his barks
worse than his bite." Leaving `Maccas' they headed towards the city and the
mall which now formed part of the historic Birmingham bull ring.  This
central area officially became a market place in 1154 and a long history of
being the trading center for the Midlands in Britain. It was now a shopping
mall with all the major stores there and was a meeting place for the
wealthier and also those down and out on their luck.

The boys went and sat down at a small café with a couple of drinks and
watched the passing traffic of shoppers and those just wandering around,
"What are we doing here Benny?" Roy asked.

"Just waiting to see if Big Jimmy turns up he's usually around here about
this time." Was the reply.

They sat around for about another thirty minutes until Roy noticed this six
foot plus black West Indian dressed in a flashy purple suit with at least
half a dozen rings on his fingers and endless gold chains around his neck
and wrists. On his head was perched a bowler hat which made him look
ridiculous but you wouldn't dare tell that to his face because he looked a

Benny whispered, "That's big Jimmy, wait here while I go see what sort of a
mood he's in." He got up and sauntered over to this big guy who Roy noticed
had a couple of slightly smaller West Indian hangers on.  Benny greeted him
like a long lost friend and while Jimmy didn't smile he did touch knuckles
with him and stopped to listen to what Benny had to say.

They chatted for a while with both of them looking towards Roy a couple of
times obviously talking about him. Eventually Benny waved him over and he
went to meet him, "This is big Jimmy." Benny announced by way of
introduction and Roy put out his hand by way of greeting but Jimmy ignored
it.

"Jimmy's got a nice caravan in his own backyard which we can rent from him
but its two hundred pounds a week which includes water and electricity, but
he thinks we won't be able to keep up the payments but I assured him we
can."

"Whatever you say Benny I'll go along with." Roy replied totally out of his
depth with all this.

Big Jimmy spoke to him for the first time, "If you can't pay man then we'll
have to find some odd jobs for you guys to do." Big Jimmy said with a laugh
and his two companions joined in laughing long and loud. Neither of the two
young guys liked the tone of Jimmy's voice when he said that and wondered
what he had in mind.

Big Jimmy suddenly grew bored with the whole conversation telling them to
meet Francine his girl at the address he gave them and she would show them
the caravan and also take the first weeks rent. With that he just wandered
off with his two minders following.

"Shit he's a bit scary isn't he?" Roy said.

Laughing Benny said," Don't worry about big jimmy he'll look out for us and
keep us safe at the same time trust me." Benny then suggested that they get
a cab go get their stuff from his parent's old place and take it to the
address big Jimmy gave them. There was a back lane to the property and they

The loading of the cab and the trip to their new address went without

parties. It didn't take them long to settle in and move what few

down the street to Tesco's and buy a few groceries, "We can't afford to be
eating out all the time and the money we got for the movie won't last
forever so tomorrow I'd better go and hunt out some of my clients so we
have cash coming in."

was a bit nervous about it anyway.  Yet he felt deep down that he would
have to start soon so that he could pull his weight financially.

After they had done some shopping and put it away they relaxed on the bed
watching television until one thing led to another and they began making

Roy's school now they had moved. Holding hands from time to time and on

just laughed when people looked.

Being a Friday the afternoon was taken up with sport which didn't appeal

the homework he missed by taking the two days off.

out, "What are you doing here Blenkinsop, this afternoon is for sport not
sitting in stuffy classrooms?" Turning he found Mr. Chalmers the English
teacher staring at him.

"Sorry sir but I missed a couple of days this week and was trying to catch

"And why were you not at school boy?"

"I had other personal commitments sir." Was Roy's reply.

"I heard some of the other boys calling you a fagot and a queer and I
noticed you kissing another boy in front of the school this morning.  So

chips eating them as they slowly walked home. Once they got back to the
caravan Benny said he wouldn't be a moment leaving him and walking up to

Ten minutes later he was back and Roy asked where he had been, "I just went
to talk to big Jimmy so that something could be sorted out that's all." He
replied with a smirk on his face. He refused to give Roy any more
information and after watching television for a while they both fell
asleep.

Being a Saturday they slept in and when they did wake up both of them were

  "Did they say why he got bashed?" He asked his classmate.

"No, nobody has any idea at all why this happened apparently he was walking

"Is he going to live?" Roy asked a slight tremor in his voice.

"No one knows except what I heard on the radio this morning is that it's
touch and go right now."

As the morning went on the rumors got more and more outrageous, one minute
he was dead the next he was coming to school tomorrow until finally the
headmaster called a special assembly of the whole school to inform everyone
that while Mr. Chalmers suffered some serious injuries he was now out of
intensive care and should be back at school in about a month.

He continued with his speech," The police would like to talk to anyone who
as any idea why this savage attack took place.  If anyone knows anything
you can come to my office and I will arrange for the police to talk to
you."

This freaked Roy out a bit and he couldn't wait for school to end so that
he tackle Benny about the bashing. While he wasn't happy with the way the
teacher had treated him he certainly didn't want him almost killed.

As usual Benny was waiting for him and Roy straight away without even
kissing him as was usual flew at him, "Why did you have Mr.  Chalmers
almost killed?"

Benny stepped back surprised at the outburst, "What are you talking about
Roy?"

"You know perfectly well what I'm getting at.  You saw big Jimmy and
arranged for that teacher who assaulted me to be beaten up and he almost
died."

Benny thought for a moment before putting an arm around his boyfriend, "Roy
you have to realize in this world especially when you're out on your own
that its dog eat dog. If we hadn't taught that teacher a lesson he would
never have left you alone. Ok Jimmy may have overdone it a bit but believe
me it was a hundred quid well spent because that pervert will never touch
you or anyone else for that matter again."

"I just wish the beating hadn't been so severe that's all."

Well we all know who that person is don't we? I wonder what repercussions
it may have for poor Roy.

By the way I am doing my own editing for this chapter because Richie is
away on a real cruise this time after his last one was spoilt by `Sandy'. I
hope he's having a good time.

A lot happened to our hero this time he met big Jimmy a daunting guy by the
sound of it who will do anything for money including beating to a pulp the
teacher who assaulted Roy.
