Subject: Running Through Blind part 2

Ok before we launch back into the melodrama, I just want to extend my
undying devotion to the Carrots and Celery story. If you the venerable
author of that story has chosen to grace my story's presence with your
luminous presence allow me to prostrate myself in adoring fanship. Well
with that fanaticism aside, lets get stated on the disclaimer thingy:

Alrighty, this story should bear no resemblance to anyone, if it does, it
was purely coincidental and tough. Also the characters and story in
general belongs to me and me alone, steal it and I'll be first distraught,
hurt and angry, and that alone should be reason enough to not steal it.
Although if my shattered state of being is not enough of a reason not to
steal my work, then you are now warned that if you do bad things will
happen, karma will catch up to you, and my foot will find your ass and they
will connect together in a very unpleasant way. Also this story may
include some stuff that ya'll might not be comfortable with, if you are
then leave, if you choose to stay, its your own bloody fault. Okie dokie
back to the story.

Running Through Blind

Part 2

Rhys left the lunch hall with a self satisfied grin. Things were turning
up for him, in an overly cliched kinda way, but up nonetheless. Walking
over to the water fountain, Rhys bent to take a drink, leaving his bum, in
a slightly vulnerable position he felt a sharp smack grace his left cheek.
Jolting upward with a shocked face he turned around to see who had molested
him. Behind him was a grinning Kyle.

"Hey you better watch yourself, people my start to talk. Bastard..."

Kyle only whistled innocently in response.

"And another thing," Rhys stepped up close to Kyle, "if you ever slap my
ass again, there will be consequences!"

"Is this a warning or a promise." Kyle said with a slight sneer

"Maybe a little bit of both..." Rhys said while raising his brow
suggestively. Both boys collapsed giggling. Then they stopped and looked
at each other reveling at the awkward moment that had just occurred.

"O God, we must be high, or extremely juvenile." Kyle said, breaking the
silence.

"Maybe a little of both. I always wondered why the lunch ladies hid in the
back and took such a long time."

"And here I was thinking that they just spat in our entrees."

"Ewwww that's nasty. I don't even know why I hang out with you." Said
Rhys with a sickened face.

"O please, if I recall correctly, I asked you to lunch!"

"O your such a gentleman, you didn't even walk me back to my locker, and
instead took advantage of me and got a little fondle-age action as well.
Some gentleman."

Kyle didn't respond, but just stared into his new friend's eyes.

"Hey Kyle... your kinda freaking me out with this whole intense staring
thing you've got going on... Kyle???"

"Sorry I was just thinking about something."

"And what would that be?"

"S'nothing"

"I see... what a Saved By the Bell type answer..."

"Well that's just it! You can be so unapproachable at times, but when I
talk to you its like you're a totally different person. What's with that."

Rhys' smile faded off his face.

"I dunno" he stammered, "its nothing. I just don't interact well with
people."

"Bullshit, we've spent an half an hour with each others and its been a
blast."

"What's it to you anyways. We're friends. We had lunch. Its cool. I've
known you for what, a year and a half, and we've just started speaking now.
Why should I tell you all my problems."

"Listen, I didn't mean to pry, but come on man, I just don't get you." Kyle
began to get a bit flustered.

"We'll boohoo muffin, as Dorian Grey said in League of Extraordinary
Gentlemen, 'I'm complicated'"

"Ooo fine references you got there. Think that all up by yourself."

"Uhhh were kinda along here so yeah?"

"O right... yeah that last comment made little sense. Permission to
withdraw comment?"

Rhys struggled to maintain a stern face, "I'll think about it"

Kyle pouted, "Pwease? Pwetty Pwease?" Pwetty Pwese wif a Cherry on top?"

"Aww how can I say no to a beg job as pathetic as that." Rhys commented,
rolling his eyes.

"Yes! w00t!"

The bell rings.

"Guess we better get to class"

"Whoopie-doo."

"Now now Rhys play nice wouldn't want everyone to think that you were
bitter, would we."

"Too late!" Rhys responded with a grin. Both boys laughed.

"k, we really gotta go now."

"Not even gonna walk me back to my locker?" Rhys said with a pout

"Ummm dude, I don't go for embittered teenagers, our lockers are right
beside each other, and I really hope your not expecting a goodbye kiss."

Rhys flipped him the finger.

"Please, I have better taste than that" Rhys dashed off to his locker,
hotly pursued by Kyle.

As they ran down the bottom floor hall, a teacher walked out of his office.

"Kyle! Rhys! Stop running in the halls. Come here immediately!"

Kyle and Rhys came to a screeching halt. Stifling a giggle they fixed their
uniforms and walked quickly back to the teacher.

"Sorry Mr. Borden, we were just rushing to our lockers so we wouldn't be
late for class and"

cutting him off, the thin sunken faced man replied sharply.

"Did I ask for excuses?"

Kyle bowed his head, however Rhys maintained the teachers gaze.

"Well boys? Did I?" "No sir." came Kyle's response.

"Good, its bad enough that you come tearing down the halls gallivanting and
distracting classes, and then you nearly run me over. Your impertinence is
noted! What gives you the right to do this! I should hope that your
parents would have taught you better" he said with a sneer.

"With all due respect sir, my parents are not at fault for my wrong doings,
and I would ask you to respect them, and not lay blame where it is
unnecessary." Rhys responded coldly.

Mr. Borden looked at Rhys in astonishment. His demeanor quickly changed to
a look of anger.

"How dare you talk back to me. Do you not know that I am a teacher in this
school. I will not be spoken to with such insolence, such arrogance.
Report immediately to the master of discipline. Now!!! I can't stand to
have you in my sight. Leave"

Calmly walking away, Rhys turned his back and walked to the stairs towards
the master of discipline's office.

"As for you, Kyle, don't you have a class to be at?"

"Yes sir." And Kyle walked to his locker and took out his bag and quickly
made his way to class.

All through his next block, Kyle thought about how full of surprises his
friend was. Did he actually stand up to that teacher that way. It was
unheard of in their school. Such blatant disregard. Kyle thought back to
what was going on in his mind.

"What the Fuck has this school done to me. Talk about conformism. Rhys
stood up for his parents and spoke out of turn and I think he's the weird
one. My god..."

Kyle felt sick to his stomach.

"Ma'am?"

"Yes Kyle? Are you ok? You don't look very good."

"May I be excused to go to the nurse's office?"

"Of Course dear. Josh go with him."

Josh nodded and took helped Kyle out of the room.

As Kyle made his way up to the nurse's office, he noticed Rhys walking out
of the discipline office. Kyle waved slightly at Rhys. Rhys rushed over
to his friend.

"What's wrong, you look horrible???"

"Nothing, just not feeling well, s'nothing."

"Hey Josh its ok, I can take him the rest of the way, you better get back
to class."

"Uhhh sure Rhys... Bye Kyle."

"Here lemme help you."

"You look pretty good for someone who just went to the discipline office."

"We'll I do have a bit of a way with the teacher's if you know what I
mean." Rhy's said with a quick wink.

"Nasty mental image much... thanks for that. And I thought I was sick
enough."

"Please, your so into that."

"Nasty mental image dude. But really how'd you do it"

"Heh. Talked my way outta it. Not that hard. Especially if your as
charming and eloquent as me." Rhys bowed with a little flourish.

"Sure. You do that then." Kyle winced as he gripped his stomach.

"Alright, we still better get you to the nurse's."

"Gosh, and here I thought I'd be miraculously healed by you, Jesus."

"Kyle, your sarcasm is duly noted, and it hurts me here" *points to heart,
"but please try not to drag higher beings into the discussion. You should
be content enough with basking in my presence"

"Shut up and help me get to the goddamn office. Its bad enough I have to
rely on you, and you keep jabbering and I have this stomach cramp... and no
its not PMS" Kyle quickly added noticing the twinkle in Rhys' eyes.

"Whatever you say master."

Finally reaching their goal of the nurse's office, Rhys stuck around
waiting for Kyle. Looking slightly less green and a little more
presentable, Kyle stepped out from the office.

"Thanks Ms. Mackenzie."

"Watch yourself there Kyle. It could be an ulcer. O Rhys I didn't see you
there, how can I help you."

"Just waiting for Kyle."

"Good you watch out for him ya hear. He's a stubborn one."

"Yes'm"

Kyle and Rhys both left Nurse Mackenzie's office. They drifted aimlessly
down the hall in silence.

Breaking the silence, Kyle peaked up a bit saying,

"Hey, schools about over, and we might as well go home. No point going
back to class. Ya need a ride home, or do you wanna come over?"

Feigning a Ms. Scarlett impersonation, "well ah do declare, Mr. Louis, we
only just met. Y'all aren't trying to take advantage of me? Are ya?"

"... we've gone over this Rhys. You're a little to suicidal for me."

"Fine then, I'll just have to go home with you and then hang myself there."

"Suit yourself. And I promise not to take advantage of you. Scouts
honour!"

"Scouts honour. What a shame..."

"Whoever said I was a scout in the first place."

"O well in that case..." Rhys stated with his patented suggestive eyebrow
raise.

"K, lets just go then..."

"Hurry Batman he's getting away, To the parking lot."

"Alrighty then A.D.D. much."

"O please at least you get to be batman, fuck that makes me Robin..."

"Or batgirl."

"Sorry I don't have the hips for it."

"I wouldn't say that necessarily."

"And we just passed the fine line between awkward and weird, wait scratch
that, we passed it, spat on it and rolled all over it. Congratulations
you're a winner!" Rhys exclaimed

"... You're a strange kid Rhys."
