Second Chance, Chapter 65

Josh found that his dad had been accurate in saying that the boys wouldn't
have much time to spare for fixing up their little third-floor apartment.
With painting for his exhibition, swimming, and homework, his schedule was
filling up rapidly. Things would settle down in the New Year after his
opening was long past and swimming finals were done. In the meantime, Josh
and Eric were very busy.

"Okay, I think we can go furniture shopping on Saturday afternoon," Eric
announced. "We need to do laps in the pool in the morning, but our
homework should be all caught up by then and you seem to have almost enough
paintings for your show."

"Yeah, but the ones that are finished need to be matted and framed."

"I think we'd better get them over to the frame shop because you and I
can't do all of that ourselves."

"You're right," Josh agreed as he gave Eric a kiss on the cheek.

"Come here and kiss me properly," Eric joked. "That was like the way an
old married person would do it."

"How's this?" Josh asked as he pulled his husband into an open mouthed
kiss that left them both breathless.

"Hmm, let's see if it affected me more than the first one," Eric said as he
guided Josh's hand to the bulge in his jeans.

The boys were far enough ahead in their studies to take the rest of the
evening off. So, they decided to tackle the most important things first.
That meant wrestling naked on the rug in their studio/living room. Eric
pinned Josh down on his back and Josh made a half-hearted attempt to
reverse their positions. Both guys were giggling too much to be serious.

Instead of trying to unseat Eric, Josh pulled their faces closer together
so that they could kiss again. Marriage had not dampened their ardor.
Soon their tongues were wrestling for dominance.

Eric worked his way down to Josh's chest to stimulate his nipples which
were already erect in anticipation. He play-nipped by pressing Josh's
sensitive nubs between his tongue and upper teeth. Each time he applied
pressure unexpectedly, Josh inhaled sharply. Before Eric was done, he had
his lover moaning non-stop.

Next, Eric nibbled his way southward stopping just below Josh's balls. By
then, Josh remembered he wasn't holding up his end and asked Eric to stop
until they could change their positions.

Moments later, they were busy washing each other's balls. That action
flowed seamlessly into serious sucking. Try as they might, they couldn't
hold back much longer once they teased each other's sphincters. Their
reward came in hot, forceful volleys of man cream.

"I taste chlorine on your bod," Eric snickered.

"I can taste it on you too. We'd better get something better than the soap
in the shower dispensers in the locker room to change the flavor." Josh
suggested. "I think there might be some citrus/lime or strawberry stuff on
the market that would help change the taste."

"Oh well, it really doesn't matter as long as the flavor of your nectar
isn't affected. I think mine's gotten better in the months since my
surgery."

"How did you know it was different?" Josh asked.

"You swallowed quickly and didn't savor it or share it, so I tasted it
myself and found it was bitter. But lately you've gone back to keeping it
in your mouth and letting me have some in return. Of course a bunch of
it's been deposited elsewhere..."

"You're right on both scores, Babe. It does taste great again, but a lot
of it has gone in my body in a vain effort to get me pregnant."

"That's okay." Eric giggled. "We'll keep trying and if we fail, we can
adopt like Wade and Roger."

The boys took a quick rinse in their shower to remove sweat, cum, and rug
fuzz before turning to less important tasks – like working on their
place. They finished painting the bathroom walls before settling down to
go to sleep at a decent hour.

----------

When they went down to join the rest of the extended family for breakfast,
they were surprised to see Luc sitting at the breakfast table. Blake was
making breakfast and the boys pitched in to help. Ben and Scott seemed to
be sleeping later for some reason – probably one the boys could guess
at.

Luc explained that he was mad at Garret and his mom had allowed him to
spend the night after clearing it with Scott. He had wanted to talk to Rob
as well as have a change of scenery. (Truth be told, he also wanted to
make it harder for Garret to contact him.)

"So, what's it about or would you rather not talk about it?" Josh asked.

"He's been spending a lot of time "studying" with a guy, Jared, who
transferred in from California for his senior year. I'll bet they're
studying anatomy and neither of them is in biology. They're practically in
all the same classes and the guy is cute as fuck. I think Garret creamed
his jeans the minute the guy come into his first class. I guess I need to
forget about him. I'm glad now that I didn't give him my cherry like I'd
planned to."

"Hey little Bro," Rob called as he came into the room, burping Robbie. "I
still wouldn't give up on Garret before he gets to explain things. I know
of several people who jumped to the wrong conclusion including me. When I
saw Reese kiss Blake out in the back yard, I figured he was cheating on me.
Luckily, I waited to hear what he had to say before I accused him of
messing around behind my back."

"Yeah, I was totally blind-sided when Reese did that!" Blake agreed. "I
certainly wasn't trying to make up with him."

"Some of us guys have heard how our friend Dane almost broke up with Colt
because he didn't trust him like he should have. It happens." Josh said.
"I've known Garret for quite a few years and never known him to be a cheat
or a liar."

The guys were halfway through breakfast when the back doorbell rang and
Blake answered because he was the closest to it. A distraught Garret was
standing on the step looking like it was the end of Western civilization.

"Is my boyfriend still here?" he asked. "I haven't been able to reach him
on his cell so I finally called his mom. She said he was staying over."

"Come on in," Blake told him.

"Luc, why did you run out on me last night? I've been up half the night
trying to figure out why you're angry with me."

"You know damn well why I'm pissed! You've been hanging around that Jared
person looking like a lost puppy."

"I have not!"

"You have too!"

"Have not!"

"Have too!"

"Whoa!" Rob raised his voice. "Sit down and talk this out sensibly. You
sound like a couple of first graders on the playground. Let's start with
Garret. What's your explanation for the amount of time you've been
spending with Jared?"

"He and I are in that tough advanced physics class and I've been
floundering. He was kind enough to say he'd tutor me to catch up. I
really need to get a decent grade if I'm going to make it in college next
year."

"But you've been there three nights a week!" Luc grumbled.

"Only before the big test - which happens to be today. I'm going to fail
it now because I'm so tired from worrying last night about us."

"So I suppose it will be my fault if you do, huh?" Luc snorted.

"No, damn it! I'm not here to fight with you or accuse you of anything. I
just want to know that you still love me. I know Jared is good looking,
but he has a girlfriend in California and he's broken hearted that his dad
wouldn't let him finish his senior year there. I've been trying to be his
friend because he doesn't know anyone here and he's way smarter in physics.
I'm not infatuated with him."

"Garret, have you eaten," Blake asked, changing the subject.

"I have a couple of energy bars in the car, I can't eat right now. Luc,
let's go up in the bedroom and talk in private, please!"

"Go ahead, Bro. I'll put your dishes in the dishwasher," Rob promised.

Luc and Garret met Ben and Scott on the stairs as they went up. About 15
minutes later they came down. Luc followed Garret to his car and they left
for school. They weren't arguing, but didn't look as if they'd spent the
last several minutes resolving their issues and making up either. None of
the guys had leisure time to worry about it because everyone had a full
schedule.

----------

On Friday, the test scores were posted by secret number on the door of the
physics classroom. Garret checked his and couldn't believe it. He had
aced the test despite his nearly sleepless night. He and Jared compared
their grades and found that Jared had beaten him out by a mere two points.
They high-fived each other in their excitement. Luc witnessed it as he
came around the corner. His face fell.

"Hey Luc! I did almost as well as Jared did on the test! I'm really
pumped."

"Well you'd better suck his dick to thank him," Luc said in sotto voce.

"Jared, I'll see you later. Right now, my boyfriend needs a little TLC.
I've been neglecting him while we studied. Sorry."

"What are you doing?" Luc nearly shouted. Then lowering his voice, "You've
just outed yourself."

"I don't give a shit!" Garret hissed back. "If I lose you, nothing
matters."

Then he said in a calmer voice, "When I told you I loved you, it wasn't
just words."

"So you're really not hot for Jared?"

"If you trusted me, you'd know I only love you. Part of why I'm trying to
work so hard in school is so that I can be smart enough to get through
college in four years and get a good job to support us while you finish."

"You've really thought about the future – like long term?"

"Is that stupid of me?"

"Maybe."

"Why, are you done with me? Are you looking for someone else to have fun
with?"

"No, I just realize what a selfish, immature baby I am. Are you sure
you'll want to have a high school boy as your boyfriend next year?"

"Sure enough to go to the University of Minnesota so I don't have to leave
town."

"And I thought maybe you'd be going to UCLA."

"Why would you think that?"

"To be with you-know-who."

"Jared?"

"Yeah."

"No way. Luc, you were ready to give me everything. I didn't want to take
advantage of you, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the offer. I
don't know everything about love and relationships, but I know what I feel
for you," Garret insisted, placing his hand over his heart.

"So are you going to take Jared out to a movie to thank him for studying
with you?"

"I hadn't planned to. I might get him a gift certificate to someplace."

"I think WE should take him out."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah. I think he should be rewarded and I'm going along to make sure he
knows you belong to me! Seriously, I do want to become acquainted with him
if he's going to be your friend. I don't want to be jealous and spiteful.
He might be as nice as you say. He certainly is easy on the eyes."

"Now I'm going to be the jealous one," Garret smiled for the first time in
nearly 14 hours.

He felt he had learned an important lesson. Never take your lover for
granted. Don't assume that his feelings won't get hurt if you neglect him.
Never appear to be infatuated with another guy even if you stand in awe of
his intelligence – at least not if you want to maintain a relationship!

----------

That evening Luc and Garret took Jared out for pizza and a movie. Luc
found that he was good company and a really decent guy. At one point while
sharing a large cheese and sausage, Jared said something that had been on
his mind since before school in the morning.

"Are you guys actually, like dating? I wasn't sure what was going on when
Garret said he had to give you tender loving care. Was that for real, or
do you tease like that. I mean, you both act straight enough."

"We're drama majors," Luc giggled. "We're both pretty good actors."

"For real?" Jared asked.

"No, I'm the one who's too much into drama, I guess. I was jealous that
Garret was spending so much time with you. Yeah, we are dating. Is that a
problem?"

"It's not my business, but I just don't see what two guys have that would
attract them to each other."

Luc stood up pretending to reach for another napkin and subtly cupped his
own crotch.

"Oh, now I get it," Jared laughed. "I've never been interested in that,
but to each his own. I so want to get laid by Caitlin. I can't tell you
how bad my balls ache."

"We can empathize on that score," Garret assured him. "So are you saying
you're a virgin?"

"Yeah, but don't spread it around. It's not cool."

"Don't you want to save yourself for that special person?"

"Now you sound like my parents!" Jared exclaimed. "I guess it's okay if
you're cool with it."

"We won't tell if you don't tell about us," Luc offered. "My boyfriend was
a little hasty this morning. If someone overheard, I'm ready to live with
it, but we once agreed we'd stay in the closet `til I'm out of high
school."

"I'm the one who said it, and I'm the one who screwed up. Will you forgive
me, Baby?" Garret asked gazing into Luc's eyes.

"You know I will."

Jared coughed quietly bringing them back to their surroundings, blushing
severely.

"Sorry," Garret said as both realized their faux pas.

"No problem. And I certainly won't say anything to anyone that might bring
you out before you're ready. I think you're a cute couple."

----------

Garret and Luc had both gotten permission to stay at the Brady-Larson house
as they had in the past. But unlike those earlier times, both families
knew they'd be there together and assumed they'd sleep in the same bed.

After showering together, they settled down in the guest room which was Rob
and Blake's former bedroom.

"I'll bet these walls could tell hot stories if they could talk," Luc
giggled. "Imagine how many times my bro and Blake have done it in here."

"Let's not think about anybody but you and me," Garret suggested. "I've
got a tube of lube and you can take me tonight if you want."

"I thought you said it was cool to be a virgin."

"It is, but I want to prove that I'm serious about loving you."

"You don't have to prove anything to me." Luc said. "I was ready to call
it quits this morning in this very house. I love the offer, but I don't
think I'm mature enough to accept it. I'll love you just as much if we
suck each other off or if we only cuddle."

"Okay, but the offer stands whenever you want it."

I hope you got to see the cute, happy couples who were among the first to
legally marry their partners in Washington DC. At last there's another
civil right granted in our nation's capitol. On that note, pray for our
brothers and sisters in Uganda.
