Second chance, Chapter 72

Christmas break was fast approaching. For university students, it was a
time of final exams with the ending for the first term. Cam and Reese
studied hard and did their best to ease each other's burdens. Reese not
only picked up after himself, but pitched in to do the extra little things
he knew would make Cam feel less stressed. His efforts didn't go
unnoticed.

"Wow! I was going to get the laundry caught up and it's already done," Cam
exclaimed one evening. "I think the good fairy must have been busy."

"Hey, watch the `fairy' bit! I may be gay, but I'm totally masculine."
Reese giggled.

"And don't I know it! Since I don't have to wash clothes, I can do a few
minutes of review in my psych class and still have time to let you prove
what a man you are," Cam said suggestively. "I simply can't resist a hot,
considerate stud with a big cock - and the ability to do laundry."

"Talk like that might not sound romantic to everyone, but it works for me!"
Reese grinned. "I've got about twenty more minutes to finish what I'm
studying and I'll be happy to demonstrate my manhood."

The pair concentrated as well as they could, given the pressure in their
jeans. Fifteen minutes later, they were making out with abandon. In
another five, they were naked and giving each other a serious tongue bath.

Cam rolled over on his back, pulling his knees toward his chest. Reese
didn't need an interpreter to know what he wanted. Before going for the
main event, Reese sucked on Cam's balls, drawing them into his mouth one at
a time. Cam responded by moaning his approval which spurred Reese to
continue.

Next, he tickled Cam's perineum with his tongue, coming tantalizingly
closer to Cam's rosebud with each pass. Reese didn't leave that area
unattended long. He snaked his long, pointed tongue into the cleft. Cam
shuddered. His chute seemed to spasm, making it open wider for brief
periods. In one of those short moments, Reese pushed the tip in. Cam
nearly came unglued as a stream of thick precum oozed from his throbbing
dick.

"Give me a quick shot of lube and put the real thing in there?" Cam
pleaded. "I want to get laid now!"

Reese didn't make him beg. As soon as he got him greased up, he eased in
the mushroom head of his ample cock and stopped for Cam to adjust to the
intrusion. But Cam didn't want to wait. He tugged on Reese's firm butt,
forcing him to bottom out.

"You're really hot, Cam! I feel like my dick is in a lava tube. I don't
think you've ever taken me so easily."

"I am hot and I want you to put out the fire with that big hose of yours."

Their talking ceased as their tongues wrestled. In a very few minutes,
Reese moaned into Cam's mouth and blew his wad, coating Cam's insides. It
all happened so quickly that Cam wasn't ready to cum yet.

Reese pulled out, shoved a little lube in his own hole and impaled himself
on Cam's shaft. Despite feeling spent from his orgasm, Reese rode like a
champ. Cam began to squeal as he neared his climax.

When he came, Cam produced a gusher. Reese lay down on top of him, still
skewered in place. Cam's jizz leaked around his softening shaft. He could
feel Reese's cum dripping from his hole onto the sheet below.

"We're gonna be covered in man-cream if we don't get up and clean up," he
laughed.

"Let's just lie here and enjoy it!" Reese suggested. "We can shower in the
morning. The laundry fairy is going to have to wash the bedding anyway.
Right now, I want to roll around in the stuff and get it all over my body."

And so, they fell into a sticky sleep in each other's arms.

----------

In extended families, deciding who will host the holiday dinner is always a
challenge. The problem was solved for one group when Mr. Worthington
invited the Larson-Brady guys and Sophia and her brood to a Christmas Eve
Day dinner at Lundy House, the mission's new facility. He wanted to honor
the people who had helped raise the funds for the remodeling and also to
host a holiday meal for the people it served. Several organizations would
offer dinner on Christmas Day, so having the mission's a day earlier would
be great for all concerned.

This was to be a feast above and beyond the usual soup kitchen fare. A
chef was hired to plan the meal and oversee its production. A prominent
grocery store chain was going to donate all the food. A local florist was
contacted to decorate the tables. A string quartet from the symphony would
play Christmas Carols. It was going to be as elegant as a meal at a fine
dining establishment.

Each person and business which was called upon to participate ended up
donating their time and materials. They all sought to do their part.
Wanting to reward their generosity, Mr. Worthington asked Mike Bradbury if
his advertising firm could come up with signs thanking each organization.
Mike was pleased to contribute, saying that his services would also be
gratis.

On the day of the dinner, Tiffany Jones opted to do a major portion of her
broadcast from the site. This would assure that the community at large
would get their update, and the businesses that helped with the dinner
would also get recognition for their generosity.

----------

A large portion of the hotel's lobby had been set up for dining as well as
the regular dining room, because a huge crowd was expected. The wall
facing the entrance, where check-in used to be, had a section which was
covered by a king sized sheet. Many people wondered what was behind it.
Josh and Tinker were among the ones who knew. Josh felt a sense of
excitement akin to what he'd experienced at his recent opening.

The crowd was certainly a mixed one. People who were down and out were
hobnobbing with a number of the city's elite. To their credit, the poorer
ones for the most part were clean and presentable and the wealthy had come
in casual attire so as not to create an additional barrier.

Rob saw one young man standing off alone and decided to make him welcome.
The guy looked to be about his age and stood out because of his rather
disheveled appearance. His jeans were dirty and torn and his hoodie was a
candidate for the dumpster. That didn't put Rob off one bit.

"Hi, I'm Rob and this is Robbie. I'm glad you found out about the dinner.
I don't believe I've seen you at the mission before."

"I'm Jay, Jay Krum," the guy mumbled, studying the tile floor.

"Nice to meet you," Rob said extending his hand to shake or bump fists,
whatever the other guy chose to do.

Jay did neither.

"Yeah right. My clothes are filthy and I stink. You don't have to pretend
I'm welcome. I only came because I'm hungry. I'll go as soon as I get
something to eat."

"But you ARE welcome," Rob insisted. "You may be down on your luck, but
you're one of God's children and I'd like to help you if you'll let me.
Please come with me."

Jay trailed a few paces behind Rob as they moved to where Mr. Worthington
was in conversation with the mayor of St. Paul. Mr. Worthington turned to
greet Rob.

"Here's the young man of the hour, Robert Larson-Brady," he said to the
mayor.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Robert."

"Thanks Mr. Mayor, but please call me Rob. This is Jay Krum and he's here
to enjoy the celebration."

"It's good to meet you too, Jay," he said shaking his hand without
hesitation.

Then turning to Mr. Worthington, Rob asked, "Could I please have the key to
the clothing store and a key card for the locker room? Jay wants to
freshen up before dinner."

"Certainly, please help him with whatever he needs."

Still toting Robbie, Rob headed for what had once been a boutique, but now
held racks of clean used clothing which had been donated for the less
fortunate. There were also new items because Tinker Bell thought that no
one should have to wear used underwear. She had gone to a local discount
house and nearly bought them out.

"Here's a bag; please pick out a week's supply of underwear – whatever
style or styles you want. You're free to take sexy ones or plain boxers or
whatever."

"Really?"

"Yup."

Jay picked out five pairs of practical undies and two string bikinis. He
blushed as he hurriedly stuffed the latter into the plastic sack.

Next, Rob led him to the shirts and jeans where he was allowed to choose
two of each.

Finally, they went past the rack bearing winter coats. Jay looked
longingly at the display of warm outer wear.

"Do you have a coat?" Rob asked softly.

Jay shook his head. He wasn't sure that he could speak without becoming
emotional.

"Here's a medium that's down-filled. It's warm and I think it might fit
well, unless you don't like navy."

"I'm not fussy," Jay insisted, finding his voice again.

"Let's take it along and you can try it on after your shower."

----------

A few minutes later, Jay emerged from a shower in the locker room next to
the exercise area. He accepted the towel Rob offered, seemingly not
embarrassed by his nakedness.

"I feel a hundred percent better! Thanks. You have no idea how it is to
be on the street with no way to get clean."

"Ah but you're wrong. I've been where you are and I understand."

"No way!"

"Way! I was lucky to be taken in by my guardians before it got this cold
last year. I lived in an old van and then under a bridge a few blocks from
here."

"Wow! You look awesome. I can't believe you were ever like me."

"Just ask my bros how I smelled when they took me in."

Jay was blinking back tears as he hugged Rob with Robbie between them. He
suddenly remembered that he was naked and blushed profusely.

"Sorry," he whispered.

"Don't be." Rob countered. "Are you missing something to smoke? I might
know a guy who could fix you up."

"I don't do that shit! Is that what you got kicked out for?"

"No, I asked in order to check on you, and you just passed the test. I'm
glad you're clean.

You'd better get dressed so we won't be late for our meal."

Everything he'd picked out fit Jay well. He started with one of the
bikinis and a tank top and finished with jeans and a suede-cloth shirt.
The coat fit perfectly.

They went back by way of the "store" to find Jay a better pair of shoes.

"What would you like done with your old things?" Rob asked.

"Is there a dumpster?"

----------

To treat everyone equally, numbers were drawn from a hat and each table got
to go to the serving line when their number came up. That meant the mayor
had to wait his turn the same as someone who was sleeping in an alley.

People walked excitedly to the bountiful display of food, listening to the
sweet music of the season in the background.

Originally, Mr. Worthington had wanted to have servers for each table, but
there were simply not enough volunteers to do it. Rob, and his buddies
would have taken on the task, but they were guests and shouldn't have to
work.

Initially Jay felt like he shouldn't be sitting with spiffy looking people,
but after visiting with them awhile, he felt comfortable – like he
belonged.

As he looked around, he saw several young men at Rob's table as well as
some children. He particularly noticed a guy who looked like a younger
version of Rob sitting next to another dude who seemed very attentive. He
wondered if they were best buddies or something more.

After all the tables of people had been through the serving line once and
had a chance at seconds, Mr. Worthington turned on a mike and addressed the
crowd.

"Please don't stop eating while I'm talking. I don't want this delicious
food to get cold while I'm babbling over here. I want to welcome you all
to our new facility and to remind you that we will be serving meals here
every day from now on – not quite as elaborate I'm afraid.

I want to thank Chef Antonio and his helpers for their fine preparation of
our feast. Members of Metropolitan Church of Christ are our line servers
today. Supervalu stores had provided all the food for us! Bernard's
Flower and Gift Shop is responsible for the beautiful decorations. Members
of our symphony have blessed us with the lovely sounds of the season. The
public relations firm of Cox and Bradbury provided the attractive signs
that let you know all the businesses involved. Please join me in showing
them how much we appreciate them all."

Applause broke out all over the room.

"Now I want to honor the boy who has been instrumental in helping us
acquire our new facility. I use the term `boy' for the last time because
tomorrow is his 18th birthday and he'll be an adult. Mr. Robert
Larson-Brady, Rob as he'd rather be called, would you please stand to be
recognized?"

Rob stood, blushing at the thunderous standing ovation he received from
everyone. Jay looked at his tablemate in amazement. He'd had no idea that
the ordinary-appearing guy who'd recently come to his rescue was like a
guest of honor. Tiffany's cameraman tightened up the shot so that Rob,
Blake, and Robbie were the main focus with Jay just showing on one side and
Josh on the other.

When the room came to order again, Mr. Worthington continued.

"We have one more brief, but important, tribute to pay before dessert.
Mr. Josh Larson-Brady and Mrs. Bell, will you join me over here next to the
big wall with the sheet.

Mrs. Pamela Bell, whose friends know her as Tinker, purchased this painting
recently at the current show of paintings by Joshua. Mr. Larson-Brady is
the artist who created this work which is the symbol of this new facility
we're naming, "Lundy House" in memory of William B. Lundy who inspired Rob
to undertake this cause. I think you'll recognize who the model was for
this work of art.

"Josh and Tinker, please take one rope each and give it a good tug."

As the sheet fell to the floor, a collective gasp went up from the diners.
There was Rob, larger than life, as an angel of mercy with wings
outstretched to help those in need.

Seated beside him, Jay shed tears openly. He had felt the touch and knew
that it was Rob's heart even more than his likeness that Josh had captured.

Someone dimmed the lights a bit to signal that something else was about to
occur. The line servers brought out a big cake with 18 lighted candles and
placed it in front of Rob. The quartet began to play, and led by Tinker
with the microphone, the crowd sang "happy birthday" and all applauded.

"Make a wish!" several people called.

Rob accepted the mike from her and addressed the room.

"My wish is that the work of Lundy House will continue and prosper. I
don't need anything for me. I have an awesome son, a wonderful partner,
and a loving family. What more could anyone wish for?"

He blew out the candles to the sounds of more applause. The servers
quickly brought large platters of cupcakes to each table. There were
several varieties so everyone had a chance of getting their favorite
flavor.

----------

When the festivities were over, many people wanted to congratulate Rob and
meet Joshua. Jay stood up and put on his new coat in preparation of
heading out to find a place to crash for the night. If he were lucky, he
might not have to huddle in a doorway. Several places were opening their
doors in the holiday spirit. The afternoon had been like a fairytale; now
reality came crashing down around him again.

"Please wait a few minutes, Jay," Ben said to him. "I know you'll want to
talk to Rob again, but we need to have a quick family huddle first. Will
you give us 10 minutes?"

"Uh, sure, I have nowhere to go..."

----------

"What do you guys think? We can't let that young man go back to the
streets. We have the spare room." Ben said.

"You know my vote," Scott smiled at his partner.

"Can we be sure he's not a druggie?" Eric asked.

"He doesn't have needle tracks," Rob offered. "I checked him out when he
got out of the shower and I asked if he needed weed."

"Perve!" Blake snickered.

"Hey it was a reconnaissance mission, and yeah he's a stud!" Rob assured
him.

"So, thumbs up or thumbs down?" Ben asked.

All thumbs went up except for Robbie who was sucking on one of his.

----------

Since festivities at Lundy House dragged late into the afternoon, there was
little time to do anything else before the 5:30 Christmas Eve service.
While some of the guys would have preferred the traditional 11:00 o'clock
one, they all went to the family one because of Robbie.

Jay went along without trying to come up with an excuse. He wasn't
especially pleased with God after the way his mother had treated him. Her
church had left no doubt that he was going to hell.

Very early in the service, he discovered something interesting; this place
was different. He felt love and hope. Perhaps God wasn't as He'd been
portrayed...

----------

Christmas was a great holiday for a lot of people. Some visited relatives
and others chose to be with their lovers.

Reese had an amazing Christmas with his mother and future in-laws. The
Nelson's had invited his mother, Brooke, to spend the day with them so that
she wouldn't be alone while they were entertaining her son.

Brooke fit in easily with Cam's parents, Don and Lois. She hadn't been
there more than 15 minutes before they were all talking as comfortably as
old friends. They even told a few embarrassing stories about their sons
when they were kids.

Cam's brother, Shannon, and his wife, Megan, were there for the holidays
too. Both of them made Reese and his mother feel welcome. Shannon even
teased Reese about becoming his brother-in-law soon and the guys admitted
that they were thinking of getting married in the summer after graduation.
It would require too much planning to do it before school was finished, but
they were sure they wanted to make their relationship permanent.

Reese shared Cam's bed again. After their big meal on Christmas Day, they
made love quietly so as not to let anyone know what they were doing. Most
of the family had decided to take a nap, so they weren't missed.

----------

Garret's parents planned to leave on Christmas Eve day to spend Christmas
Day and the day after with his maternal grandparents, but Garret chose not
to go. A major reason was that he didn't want to be separated from Luc
over another holiday so soon after their reconciliation.

"But you can't spend the holidays alone," his mother had insisted.

"I won't. I've been invited to go to the dinner to celebrate the opening
of the new mission building with Luc's family and they want me to stay with
them for Christmas if that's okay with you. I just saw most of the
relatives last month. Grandma's not going to remember me anyway. I hate
seeing her like that."

"I guess I can't insist that you go with us. I know the sleeping space is
limited and it's not much fun for you. I have to cut the apron strings
sometime, I suppose. I'm going to have to learn to share you with the
in-laws," she quipped. "I do love you a lot, Son."

"I know Mom. I appreciate it," he said as he gave her a hug.

Luc was elated to have his boyfriend spending Christmas with him. It was a
real boost to his general frame of mind. His feelings of guilt were not
all resolved, but he had a more positive outlook when he was with Garret.
Garret had truly forgiven him of his trespasses.

his own and that he feel a real connection with this story. I'm really
pleased that I've touched him!

Let's hope that Prop 8 gets backed off. Let's also hope that DADT is
ended. It's time for a genuine change in how people are treated.
