Second Chance Chapter 74

True to his word, Blake contacted his former boss at the country club the
next day saying he had a young man in mind who might be a good addition to
the wait-staff. Jay would be granted an interview on the following day,
and if hired, would be expected to start immediately by shadowing one of
the experienced waiters. Blake agreed to work on New Year's Eve in order
to help mentor the young man. His offer sealed the deal.

So, the day after Christmas turned into a make-over occasion for Jay.
Josh, Eric, Rob, and Robbie accompanied him to the mall for an appointment
with Corray. Corray had been booked solid, but said he would work Jay in
around a color he was doing for a lady who would be happy to accommodate
them. Thus, having his hair cut was Jay's first order of business. Of
course, with Corray, it's never a "cut" but a "styling."

"I know just the right fashion to make you look fabulous!" Corray gushed.
"Your hair is the perfect texture for what I have in mind. You'll be
receiving all sorts of tips from club members for being cute if nothing
else. Like the song says, you'll razzle-dazzle `em!"

Jay had been forewarned about Corray's campy mannerisms and took it all in
stride. In fact, he found that he truly liked the man. In a mere half
hour, Jay was transformed from an ordinary looking guy with long, unkempt
hair to a hot looking stud. He appraised his reflection, not completely
believing it was his image. He shook his head in wonder.

"Oh dear, you don't like it!" Corray sighed mournfully.

"No, I LOVE it!" Jay exclaimed, realizing the false impression he'd given
by shaking his head. "You ARE a master!"

"Oh you're not only cute, but soooo sweet!"

"What do I owe you," Jay asked reaching in his pocket hoping his monetary
gift from Rob and Blake would cover it.

"Not a thing. This one's on me. Just tell your friends and associates
where to come."

"But the salon will expect you to make up the difference even if you don't
charge for your services. I need to repay you."

"Consider it a belated Christmas gift. Eric told me you're down on your
luck and applying for a job at the country club. When you get established,
pass the favor along to someone else who needs a hand.

I have another thought too. Let me get my camera and take a photo of you.
This style looks a lot better on you than on the model in the book. If
you'll let me display your picture, I'm sure it will bring me more
customers. Is that okay with you?"

"You bet. I'll feel better if I can help you in return."

----------

The next stop was the shoe department at Penney's to buy a pair of
comfortable dress shoes for work and a pair of sneakers for knocking about.
Jay purchased them with one of the mall gift cards he'd received from Ben
and Scott.

Then it was on to the men's department for a couple of easy-care white
shirts and black slacks to wear to work. The after-Christmas sales helped
Jay stretch his gift card money. He insisted he should use the cards
instead of letting the boys pick up the tab.

On the way home, Rob talked about how closely Jay's story paralleled his
own.

"This is like déjà vu," he said aloud. "It was a little over a year ago
these guys were doing the same for me."

"Does that mean in another year I'll have a baby, a husband, and a late
model Beamer?" Jay joked. "I think it's not quite as close as you're
seeing it."

"Okay, a lot of details are different, but we both got thrown out for
something we can't really change and we were both taken in by the same
people. They picked us up when hope was gone. That's what I'm thinking
about."

"That's true. Have you thought about the fact that you're one of them now,
extending a hand to one who was nearly ready to throw in the towel on
life?"

"Yes, my life had come full-circle and I've been able to pay back some of
what these guys and their dads did for me."

"You've gone above and beyond, Rob," Josh insisted. "Think of all the
lives you'll be touching through Lundy House, not to mention what you did
for Sam. It boggles my mind."

----------

In the afternoon, Rob took Robbie over to his mother's house for a little
birthday party with her. She had not insisted on doing anything elaborate
or having him on Christmas Day because she didn't want to interfere with
the plans Ben and Scott had made. She felt fortunate being accepted by her
oldest son and would never do anything to jeopardize their new
relationship.

Robbie received little gifts from his aunts and uncles, but enjoyed their
doting attention more than material things. He was too young to care about
particular toys and was content to roll around on the floor with his young
uncles.

----------

Jay's interview went very well. He was polite and eager to do whatever his
job called for. His new hair style and clothes made him look right for the
part. He was put to work immediately, assisting an experienced young man
during lunch.

The time went rapidly for him because he was concentrating on absorbing
everything that was done. He proved to be a quick learner and was going to
be scheduled to help with several mealtimes including a couple of important
dinners. Needless to say, Jay was thrilled to have the job.

----------

It was over the holiday break, that Tiffany Jones taped her in-depth
interview with Rob and Blake. She brought her favorite cameraman with her
to the Larson-Brady home. She would have loved to have included everyone
in the house, but stuck to the original plan of highlighting the couple and
their son.

There was never any mention of Rob's former life or that he'd been thrown
out by his father. She didn't go into any details about Robbie's birth
mother either. She did, however, plan to use clips from the footage that
had been shot on Christmas Eve Day because she wanted to emphasize how this
same-sex couple was affecting life in the metropolitan community.

Rob and Blake did talk at some length about how they felt being able to
actually wed the one they loved above all others. They discussed the
advisability of having legal documents drawn up as well since Minnesota
didn't recognize their marriage.

The final camera shot was of the couple sitting together on the sofa in
their quarters with Robbie asleep cradled in Blake's arms. Even viewers
who would tune in to simply gawk at a gay couple would be moved by it.

The program was to be aired two days later – still during the time when
students were on break.

----------

"Jay, would you consider posing sometime when you aren't busy at the
country club?" Josh asked.

"Uh, I'm not sure I'd be able not to embarrass myself," he blushed.

"Oh, I didn't mean completely naked," Josh clarified. "I'd like to do a
scene of Cain and Abel for my Genesis series and I'd put you and Eric in a
chamois skin loincloth wearing a jock underneath to keep from having
anything `come up' unexpectedly."

"I guess I could do that," Jay agreed. "If I'm that close to being naked
with Eric I might need a steel jock!"

"I'm sure we can find something to keep you in line," Josh snickered. "I'm
also thinking about inviting another friend over to sketch. He's an art
student who doesn't have a chance at models very often. Would you be okay
with that?"

"Sure. You've been good to me; it's the least I can do."

"I don't want you to feel obligated."

"I don't. Is this guy cute?"

"Cute, and straight, unfortunately."

"It's still okay," Jay grinned. "Actually it's probably better."

----------

"Mom was great about it when I told her I was coming over to sketch with
you," Brayden said to Josh. "I took Dad and her to see your show the day
after it opened and they were really impressed. Dad said he'd heard you
were gay, but he doesn't care. He's sure I can learn a lot from you. Can
you believe it? If I liked boys, uh in that way, I'm sure I'd still have
the support of my family!"

"That's great." Josh agreed.

"I wish my parents had been like that." Jay said sadly.

"Eric, please find Jay a clean jock and you two can go change into them and
then I'll pose you for a few quick sketches so we can warm up before trying
longer ones."

"Sure thing. Come with me, Jay."

Moments later, the two models returned nearly naked. Eric was nonchalant,
but Jay blushed a lot in the beginning.

Josh had turned on the space heater to keep Jay and Eric from being chilly,
so the room soon became rather warm for the artists. Josh shed his shirt
and Brayden followed his example. The guys posing were treated to a
pleasant view as well.

After several warm-up drawings, Josh brought out two loincloths he'd made
of chamois skin purchased at an auto supply store. They were patterned
after the garb that ancient Egyptian laborers wore and in a way resembled a
big diaper. He tied one around Eric first and then Jay. The effect was
exactly what he had in mind for Genesis characters – primitive and
nearly naked.

"Eric, I want you to be Abel, so I'll have you kneel by this end table as
if it were an altar. Jay, I want you to pretend you're the jealous
brother. You can hold this baseball bat as if it's a club that you're
going to kill Abel with. Please don't get into the act too much. I don't
want my beloved hurt! I won't make you guys hold the pose for more than 15
minutes at a time because it will be strenuous – especially holding the
club."

The boys got into their poses. Jay soon discovered that it was more taxing
on his muscles than he'd imagined. His arms were nearly shaking by the
time Josh called for a break.

The two posers lay on the rug to stretch out while Josh and Brayden
discussed their work. Brayden chose to do only one of the figures because
he didn't want to copy Josh's inspiration. He was grateful for the
opportunity to learn from his classmate while maintaining his own artistic
vision. He planned to turn Jay's figure into an amateur baseball player in
ragged cutoff shorts crouching over home plate.

After an hour of working, with several short breaks; Josh went to their
small refrigerator and got out fruit, cheese, and soft drinks for a snack.
Eric and Jay looked over the sketches while he was getting things ready.
Jay was particularly impressed with how great he looked in Josh's
rendition. He was also pleased with Brayden's sketch and told him so.

Relaxed and energized, the guys went back to work for another half hour.
By then, Josh felt they'd all had enough.

Eric and Jay got dressed again and they all hung out for a while. Brayden
left his sketches with Josh for the time being after taking digital photos
of them to show his parents. He didn't want to chance spoiling his work by
transporting it home before it was finished. He also figured that by
leaving it, he would be invited back again to work on it again.

The afternoon had gone rapidly and all were pleased with the results.

----------

Before drifting off to sleep, Jay daydreamed about Brayden. Seeing his
bare nipples for over an hour and a half had been stimulating. Jay hadn't
dared look at Josh too much because he felt it would be too easy to lust
after someone he couldn't have.

He got up from his bed and turned on a light to look at himself in the
full-length mirror on the inside of the closet door. His reflection looked
better than he remembered it. He was a bit underweight, but his muscles
showed definition. He messed up his hair to give it a bed-head look. He
struck a couple of suggestive poses with his hips thrust forward showing
off his stiffing cock. He smiled at what he saw.

Running his hands sensuously over his body, like a guy he'd once seen in a
video, he caused his erection to reach its full potential. He fantasized
that his reflection was his twin. That caused his precum to flow freely.

Try as he might, he could not continue to tease himself without stroking.
Once he began, the process didn't take long. At the last minute, he
positioned his left hand to catch the fruit of his loins. He licked his
hand nearly clean and rubbed the rest on his abs.

Sleep overtook the tired young man rather quickly.

----------

A floor above, Josh once again put the loincloth on Eric, only this time
without a jock under it. Eric loved the feeling of the soft leather
directly against his bare phallus. He pulled his foreskin back to get the
full effect on his head. It stimulated him just as Josh had hoped.

Eric's dick peeked out of the opening near his left leg. Josh got on his
knees to lick his way up Eric's knee toward the emerging part. Eric' cock
met him about half way on his journey.

"You should put on the other one so I can return the favor," Eric
suggested.

"I'd better not. I don't want to leave my body fluids on something that
Jay will be wearing again."

"Then why don't you put on the jock I was using this afternoon? I'm sure I
won't mind coming in contact with your DNA!"

Josh went into their bedroom and put on the jock, but it didn't stay on
long because Eric got the waistband in his teeth and pulled it down. Then
he nearly swallowed Josh's half-hard cock in one gulp.

Eric worked his husband's dick over like a starving man. Josh tried his
best to hold back, but couldn't. He whimpered and bucked for a few seconds
before feeding Eric his hot load.

As soon as he had recovered enough, Josh went back to work on Eric.
Leaving the loincloth in place, he teased Eric's prick with his tongue and
lips.

"I wonder if the Egyptian peasants serviced each other like this," Eric
said between gasps. "It's really convenient for a quickie!"

He had barely finished his statement before he shot his wad. It came so
quickly and forcefully that Josh nearly choked on the first spurt.

Josh undid the knot on Eric's costume so that they could cuddle skin to
skin on the rug. Before long, the cooling temperature of the room
motivated them to head for their bed. Beneath the covers, they drifted off
to sleep, cuddling in the afterglow.

----------

Across the hall from Jay's room, Blake and Rob were involved in a bit of
pillow talk after turning out the light.

"We're a lot better off financially then I thought we'd be," Blake said.
"Mike Bradbury has assured me I'll be hired full-time the minute I
graduate. I'm thinking that I could upgrade to a newer car, possibly a
small SUV or minivan. Would you feel bad if I got rid of the car you had
repaired for me last year?"

"Not at all, but are you sure you want to be seen in a minivan? That's so
soccer-mom."

"Hey, I'm comfortable enough with my manhood to drive anything I want.
Besides, I'm a family man and a vehicle like that could be used for camping
and all sorts of activities with Robbie."

"What will you do with your old one? You're not going to get much in
trade."

"I was thinking about giving it to Jay so he'd have transportation. I know
it's not much, but it would get him to work if he can afford the
insurance."

"That's a fine idea! You're so sweet!"

"So, are you okay with me driving a family-type vehicle?"

"Yup, but you'll have to prove your manhood."

"Let me see if I can do that," Blake giggled as he ran his hand up Rob's
leg.

----------

On the evening that the Tiffany Jones special on gays in the community was
broadcast, everyone in the Larson-Brady household gathered in the den to
watch. All were pleased at how she had dealt with the sensitive subject
which could have taken on an air of sensationalism. She portrayed Rob and
Blake as they were in life - a young couple raising a child who was happy,
healthy, and well cared for.

Blake and Rob were glad that the final program remained true to the way it
seemed to be going during the taping. The emphasis was on the fact that
they lived normal lives, they contributed to the good of the community at
large, and that they were bringing up their son in a wholesome environment
which included the church.

They wondered what kind of feedback the station would get from viewers.

----------

For New Year's Eve, the guys decided to invite some of their friends to
sleep over. Blake and Jay would be working late, but could join the rest
when they got home – assuming that everyone would still be up.

Luc and Garret were at the top of the guest list. Damian, Peter, Brayden,
and Dylan, were also asked to come. Initially, Josh was hesitant to
include Aaron and Sam, but Garret assured him that it would be a good idea.

"This is a party with a bunch of friends getting together. It's not about
sex or anything. It would be great to ask Casey over too because he's
become a part of the crowd. I think his presence would also keep Sam and
Aaron in line so to speak."

"That's a great idea. We'll ask everyone to bring a sleeping bag like we
have other times. We can all camp out in the living room and den, except
for Rob and Blake. I think they'll want to be closer to Robbie.
