Subject: Shadow & Light 8 (a note to readers)

While some of the events described in this story are fictionalized, so i
can retain what's left of my sanity, many of the events here actually
happened as described. You should know before you continue that this story
contains graphic accounts of child abuse and violence, as well as drug use
by teenagers. If you are easily offended, or if this kind of material is
illegal for you to read, then please, stop now. If you have any comments or
suggestion, you can email me at jkeele777@yahoo.com. Please include the
story name in the subject line, so your message is not filtered into the
junk pile! If you are, or know of a child in a similar situation, do
something about it! call the police. Call social services. Do anything, But
do something!

Sorry this chapter has taken so long, guys - i have been very encouraged by
all of your emails! My work schedule has been erratic, to say the least.
Thank you again for all your support!

Also guys, please remember that nifty.org is fan supported. without your
constant support, we would not have this wonderful, diverse collection of
gay literature. Please give what you can, when you can, and i promise to do
the same.

This will be the final post i make related to this story. From the last few
emails i have gotten, it looks to me like people are not interested in this
kind of story being published here, and the rest of this tale has turned
out to be just too painful to tell in a public setting. Thank you for your
patience with me, and thank you to the few who have had kind words to say
about my little tale.

	Dear Readers,

I have chosen to end this story with the last chapter for several reasons,
the most important to you, I suppose, being lack of interest. Most
importantly to me, however, is the fact that this story turned out to just
be too painful for me to share. I thought that I could. I thought that
enough time had passed, but apparently, I was wrong. For that, I
apologize. While I have received several emails about the story, very few
reflected on content or skill (or lack thereof). Most of the emails I
received were to complain about the lack of sex in the story, particularly
for the site that I chose to post it to. I would like to thank David, the
Nifty Archivist, for giving me the opportunity to share this story with the
public, even though it did not turn out as intended. I will continue to
support him and his site, as I have found many authors I would never have
discovered otherwise. I would also like to thank my friend and fellow
writer, Jim Dunaway, for his unwavering support and his help with editing
and proofreading. He will tell you that he didn't help, only suggested, but
I want to thank him publicly anyway. To those who showed interest, or were
encouraging in your words to me, I thank you as well. For those who were
indifferent, cruel or just plain assholes - thanks for showing me that I
was right - just about half of the people on the planet should never open
their mouths in a public setting. Thanks again!
