This is the first story I've ever written, I wrote it over the
summer of last year and my writing skills have grown immensely. Although
this is my first story I've wrote, I have published other stories on here
and am current;ly working on one. Under the high school section, I have the
One or the Other, which is a current project; Hayden's Story; and GAvin's
Got Game. Under the college section, I have The After Party. The latter
three stories all contain sexual content.

you all!

It's been two weeks now and Jay still won't talk to me. DJ is
mad at me too because I didn't listen. She said it was an important part of
him. Amy is the only one that is still talking to me. It's mostly because
I'm her prom date and tonight is prom. I hope DJ and Jay will stop ignoring
me for at least tonight.

"Hey Alex." Amy said coming down stairs. Her dress
was...wow. If the whole thing with Chad never happened I would be all over
her.

"Wow, Amy, you like great." She smiled.

"Thanks Alex." There was an awkward silence for a minute. Her
dad finally came in and we had the `talk' but since he knew about Amy and
me being gay, his speech was mostly on keeping her safe from DJ. It was
kind of funny because Amy's dad is so accepting and nice. But he looks like
he could snap someone in half. He's like 6'7" I guess. When we finally left
Amy turned to me.

"Do you want to know what Jay was trying to tell you?"

            "Duh!"

"I couldn't tell you when DJ was around because she would have
killed me."

We got into my car and started to drive. The place prom is held
at is a good 30 minutes away so we definitely had time to talk. "It's
okay. I understand."
"When Jay was little, he was molested by his uncle. They lived
in Cali when this happened. His uncle told Jay that since he was a `girly
boy', he deserved it. This went on for at least his whole 5th and 6th grade
years. He finally told his mom and dad in the 9th grade. His mom and dad
gave him up because their son was a disgrace to them. His older brother,
who was at college, dropped out and took him in.

They arrested Jay's uncle and the harassment at school cause
Jay to try to commit suicide. His brother saved him and time and he moved
himself and Jay across the country. He's scared that people will leave him
like his parents did or hurt him like his uncle. That's why he's never gone
out for a team and he's always to himself. And when you ignored him you
reminded him of his parents."

I didn't know what to say. Jay has always seemed so together. I
know he gets emotional but I just thought that it was because he was soft
hearted and not because he's been hurt by so many. "That's so..."

"Yeah, I know", for the rest of the ride neither of us said a
word. It was as if I just broke up with her on the way to prom.

When we finally arrived, we put our smiles on and got out of
the car. I grabbed her hand and we walked into the gym looking like the
next prom queen and king in my opinion. But when we got in, I noticed
everyone looked like they were prom queen and king.

At first we couldn't find DJ and Jay. Amy finally called DJ
after about 10 minutes, DJ said that she had to go get Jay because he said
he was not going. And knowing DJ like I do, they would be here soon.

"Hey fag!" Ciara said walking over with her newest accessory,
the quarterback. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Back up, Ciara. We don't accept trash in our group." Amy said.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why would I, the most popular girl in the
school, want to hang out with you, the most dorkiest kids in the school?"

"I was thinking the same thing, Ciara." Amy said. "But kinda in
reverse. Why would we, the most humblest people in the school, want to hang
with you, the town slut?"

She laughed. "If I'm such a slut then why are you afraid of
me?"

"Who said I was afraid of you?"

"Well you won't hit me so you're afraid."

I bet Ciara wishes she could take that back now. The second she
finished saying that, she was knocked down on her ass by one of Amy's
punches. Amy then got on top of Ciara. "Who's afraid now, bitch?"

Everyone was looking. Ciara started crying. "Get off! Get off!"

When Amy got up off her, Ciara stormed out of the gym
crying. Her date followed her out after mouthing a `thank you' to Amy.

"Why did you do that? She was talking to me."

"I stand up for my friends. And I needed a reason to knock that
bitch down a level or two. I've been wanting to do that for a while now."
We both laughed at that. We then laughed a little harder and started
attracting attention when a teacher came up and told Amy that she would let
her away with that because it was Ciara. To think I was dating that slut 3
weeks ago.

Amy and I sat and talked for about 20 more minutes until DJ and
Jay finally came in. DJ looked just as hot as Amy and Jay was just out of
this world. Jay obviously didn't want to see me and now I really don't
blame him. DJ and Amy hugged and gave a quick smooch before they sat
down. Jay slowly dragged himself into the seat between Amy and DJ. I tried
talking to him but he ignored me.

When Perfect Two by Auburn came on Amy and DJ squealed. They
then said this is their song. They got up and went out on to the dance
floor. Jay just sat there staring into his cup. I couldn't take it any
longer. I got up, went to his side of the table, and extended my hand to
him.

He looked up at me. "Would you care to dance with me, Mr. Jason
Freeman?"

He smiled a bit. But it soon went back to a frown. "No thank
you."
"But I need to talk to you and sitting at a table is not the
place to say it." I extended my hand yet again.

He put his hand into mine and I pulled him up. "One
dance. That's it."
"That is longer than what I need." I smiled. He looked at me
quizzically but followed me. When he noticed we were going outside of the
gym, he got scared.

            "Where are we going?"

I didn't say anything. I just held his hand tight and kept
dragging him. "We need to be somewhere quiet."

"Okay?" When we finally got outside on the deck, I wrapped my
hands around his waist and started swaying back and forth with him. He put
his hands around my neck after he realized resisting me wasn't going to
work.

"Amy told me." He stopped dancing and looked at me with hurt in
his eyes. "I just wanted to tell you that I'm so sorry about ignoring you
that day. I promise that I'm nothing like your parents." His eyes started
to tear.

"Let go off me." He mumbled, trying to get away.

"I've never let you go, Jay. I've always looked at dating you
through my eyes. Thinking about how hard it would be for me. I never
thought about what problems you faced with dating me." He still looked
hurt. I hope what I was going to say next would cheer him up. "But now I've
looked at it from your perspective. I can see that it is as hard as it for
me to do. And I thought that since I can't solve my problems by myself and
you can't solve yours by yourself that we could solve them
together...as...boyfriends."

He started crying. These were tears of joy though, not
sadness. He broke into a smile. "I've been waiting for you to say that for
a long ass time Alex Marshall."

We both leaned in and finally shared our first real kiss. It
was magical. His lips were softer than any other lips I've ever felt. I
pulled him into me and held him close. After we separated we just stood
there slow dancing.

            "I love you Alex Marshall."

"And I love you Jason Freeman."

At that moment I looked up and saw a shooting star. I then
remember that letter that changed everything. I finally decided to write
back, but in prayer.

Dear Chad,
Since you've been gone, my life has been a roller coaster. I still
remember that letter you wrote me as if you gave it to me an hour ago. You
were wrong about being out of my life. You'll always have a special place
inside my heart. I wish you were here now to see what you've done to
me. You were right about changing my life dude. I now have an incredible
boyfriend, I'm out to the world, and I'm in the GSA. When I finally see you
again we'll have to catch up.
	Love,
	Alex

~ IMPORTANT ~
This story is a precursor to the actual Shawn's Turn. It contains
information that may come in handy for the next part. Also. there are four
chapters written by a friend of mine and I will tell you if they were
written by her. Please DO NOT contact me and tell me how different those
chapters are from the rest of the story and they are written completely
differently. If you do I will most likely insult you. :D
