Some of you have asked what happened to John. He and the other boy were
sent home from New Mexico. Both sets of parents were informed the day we
arrived at the ranch that their boys were sick, and were going to be kept
in the infirmary until well enough to return home. I have no doubt in my
mind that John and the other boy were messing around in the bathroom, but I
never got a chance to actually find out. John left Scouts when he got back
home and wouldn't even acknowledge my presence in school after that. I
heard he got married and now has six girls (ironic, huh?) and lives in the
midwest somewhere.

This will be the last chapter for Philmont and Scouts for a while. David
concentrates on getting Eagle Scout (which he does about 3 months after
Philmont) and the "John incident" is still very much on his mind. As an
aside, his Eagle Service Project was blazing an interpretive trail from the
iron furnace to the ore pits - lol, go figure.

Here's Chapter 16......

FROM CHAPTER 15

Getting the sock ready, he began to slide his hand on his erection. His
mind went back to his dream and as he thought about sliding his dick into
Dan's butt, he gave a small gasp and went over the edge, his cum shooting
into the sock in his hand. Releasing his breath quietly, he relaxed,
cleaning up the best he could. Then he rolled up the socks and shoved them
under his sleeping bag, between it and the floor of the tent. He giggled
to himself, wondering if he should put them in the bear bag, not knowing if
bears were attracted to that smell or just toothpaste and scented stuff.
Deciding to take the risk, he pulled his briefs back up, and slowly drifted
off to sleep, somewhat satisfied.

UNDER PRESSURE/HIGH SCHOOL 16 - Lions and Tigers and Bears

"I heard it ripped the tent to shreds."

"No way."

"Yeah, they came back and the tent was trashed, along with the kid's pack."

"Man, that really sucks."

David, Dan, and three of the other boys from their crew, Paul, Chuck Number
One, and Chuck Number Two, were sitting around a table discussing the
latest rumor of a bear attack and drinking root beer. They had arrived
earlier than expected at their campsite and upon hearing that the main camp
had a root beer 'saloon,' the five of them had done their duties in camp,
then high-tailed it the mile and a half to the saloon. The cold, sweet
liquid was a welcome change from warm, purified water and warm juice they
had been drinking the last six days.

Paul took a gulp, belched, and grinned, "Man, this is so good!"

Nods of agreement passed around the table, then the boys returned to the
subject at hand.

"Guess they're lucky they weren't there," Paul said.

"Yeah, hard to tell what would have happened then," agreed Chuck #2.

"Must have had something smelly in his pack," David added, then grinned.
"Maybe we ought to hang Paul in the bear bag, he's sort of smelly."

"You know Dave, if I didn't like you so much, you'd be carrying the dutch
oven for that comment," Paul joked, bringing a round of laughs from the
table.

"You know, I've never seen a real bear, except in a zoo," Dan said.

"Yeah, and like on TV, looks like they could tear someone limb from limb.
I bet that tent and pack was destroyed," Chuck #1 added.

"It happened around here, didn't it?" asked Dan.

"Yeah, like the next camp over that way," Paul pointed back over his
shoulder.

The boys continued drinking and talking until the noise in the room was
interrupted by the door slamming open, and the entrance of a disheveled and
dirty teenager. All eyes were on the boy as he ran over to the
'bartender,' yelling about their camp being trashed by a bear. The
'bartender' picked up the radio mic and all the silent boys in the room
heard him relate the story the boy was telling. The five around David's
table worriedly looked at each other when they heard Camp #4 mentioned - it
was the next one over from theirs. The bartender finished his
conversation, and sat the boy down on a stool, then turned to the quiet
room.

"You all better get back to your camps," he warned. "Make lots of noise on
the way back, and you shouldn't have a problem. If the bear is still
around you'll scare him away with the noise."

The silence was broken by the sound of chairs sliding and the frightened
discussion of the roomful of scouts. None of them seemed to think it was
strange that they weren't kept in the building or offered to be escorted
back to their sites, they were too worried about getting back in one piece.

Warily, the five of them walked back the road, looking around for any sign
they were about to be attacked. Talking loudly, they arrived safely back
at their site to find the rest of the crew sitting around the fire circle
talking. The five of them informed the others about their experience at
the saloon, and soon all of them were glancing around at the surrounding
area with worried looks. The began discussing the attack, and were
interrupted by Jeff, their crew leader.

"Guys, you need to double check your packs and tents for anything that
gives off a scent and put it in the bear bag. Remember you were told
before we started not to keep anything like that on you or in your pack.
So get to it."

The boys split into pairs and went to their tents. David and Dan rummaged
through their packs, David finding his tube of toothpaste (it was easier to
keep it here than to have to worry about getting it from the bag in the
morning) and Dan a pack of Fig Newtons. grinning wryly at each other, they
exited the tent rejoining the group around the fire circle. Every boy
there had something in his hand. Jeff looked at them and shook his head,
then lowered the bag from the limb. Chastised, the boys deposited their
items in the bag and it was raised back to its former position.

"Ok, now that's taken care of, get ready to head out. We've got about a
half hour hike to do the gold panning."

The boys retrieved what they needed from their gear, and the group headed
out for their scheduled activity. For the rest of the afternoon, they
dipped their pans in the small stream running through the area, one or two
of them actually finding minute flakes of the precious metal. The fun they
were having soon pushed the earlier worries to the back of their minds.

The sun was almost at the horizon when they started walking back to the
camp, excitedly discussing their experience and passing around the two
small sealed bags that held their booty. As they approached the camp,
conversation started to die down as they focused their attention on their
site as it came into view. Breathing a collective sigh of relief, they saw
the camp hadn't been disturbed, no tents were shredded, and their sleeping
bags were still airing out on lines between the trees.

Their mood lightened by the discovery, they set about preparing supper and
getting the site in shape for the night. Dishes washed and drying, the
boys sat around the fire as the sky darkened and the temperature dropped.
One by one, the boys started to retire to their tents, yawning from the
day's excitement.

David and Dan were almost the last to go, staying around the fire chatting
with Paul and Chuck #1. As they climbed into the tent, they shoved their
clothes for the next day into their bags and hurriedly stripped to their
briefs, sliding into their bags to escape the chilly air. They chatted
quietly for a few minutes, then drifted off to sleep.

He wasn't sure how long he had been sleeping before he was being shaken,
with Dan whispering, "Dave, Dave."

"Huh? Wha?" David grumbled at the interruption.

"You awake? Dave."

"What?" David answered.

"Shhhhh, quiet."

"What?" he asked again in a whisper.

"I heard something out there," Dan whispered, a note of fear in his voice.

David was silent, listening. "I don't hear anything."

He looked at his tent mate, the almost full moon dimly illuminating the
inside of the tent, seeing a look of panic in the boy's eyes. "Yeah, not
now, but it woke me up."

David cocked his head again, still not quite awake, "Well, I don't hear
anything, Dan. Go back to sleep."

Dan slowly relaxed back inside his sleeping bag. David realized that his
bladder was protesting and decided now was a good time, sinc ehe was
already awake, he started sliding out of his bag.

"Where ya going?"

"I gotta take a piss."

"Oh, ummm, I do too. And not to be homo, but can I go with you?"

"Yeah, c'mon, let's make it quick, it's cold."

Easing the tent flaps open, David looked out into the moonlit campsite.
Nothing was moving and he didn't hear a sound except the slight snores and
breathing from the other tents.

"Okay, nothing there, Dan. Let's go."

The boys left the tent, Dan glancing around and headed for the edge of the
site. They separated a little and began relieving themselves. David
finished first, and started back to the tent.

"Dave! Wait, man." Dan whispered.

Wrapping his arms across his chest against the chill air, he waited a few
more seconds until Dan joined him, then hurriedly walked back to the tent.
Shivering, they slipped back into the warm bags, curling up to get warm.
As he warmed up, David slipped back into sleep.

"Dave! Dave!" again the whisper and shaking, he didn't know how much
later.

"What?" he responded groggily.

"Listen."

This time David did hear something. Trying to focus his sleepy brain on
the noise, he remained quiet, hearing a scuffling and rustling noise from
outside the tent. He looked over at Dan, who was sitting up inside his
bag, eyes wide open with fright.

"Hey man, ease up a little, probably just somebody taking a piss," he
offered.

He slowly rose to a sitting position, and listened. One of the pans left
out to dry, toppled over followed by a quiet snort. Now he was worried.
He looked back at Dan, who was trembling, from fright or cold - David
didn't know, but he looked like he was ready to bolt. The pot moved again
and Dan gave a little whimper, and tensed. Still half asleep, he knew that
if Dan bolted, they could be in some serious trouble. He put his hand on
Dan's shoulder, making him flinch a little and felt the boy shaking.

"Hey, ease up, relax a little, ok?" he asked worriedly.

Dan just gave a soft moan and tensed even more. David wrapped his arm
across Dan's shoulders, squeezing gently.

"Don't panic, man, it'll draw attention."

Obviously this was the wrong thing to say, or Dan wasn't listening, because
he started to move out of his bag. David thought as quickly as he could,
and forcefully pushed Dan onto his back, draping himself across the boy's
chest. Looking down at the frightened boy, David saw his eyes wide open,
head turned to the side of the tent. Dan was quietly panting, scared to
death.

"Hey," David whispered, trying to get his attention.

Dan's eyes flicked to his, then went back to the side of the tent, where
the rustling and scuffling continued.

"Hey, look at me," he whispered more forcefully.

Dan slowly turned his head to look at the boy above him. David gave a
small smile, whispering, "Ease up, Dan. Take it easy, okay?"

Dan was still tensed up beneath him, but he kept his eyes on David. "We
can't make any noise, man. It'll draw attention, okay?" Absentmindedly,
he rubbed Dan's cold arm with his palm, trying to calm the boy down. "Just
take it easy, Dan, take it easy," he tried to sooth, more scared of Dan
drawing the attention of whatever was outside, than the thing itself.

Dan was still panting in fright, soft groans interspersed with his breaths.
David continued to lay across him, rubbing his arm, keeping eye contact.
"It's ok, man. Take it easy."

He felt Dan relax a little under him as the boys listened to the faint
noises from outside the tent. They would tense up whenever a pot of
something moved, but both boys were calming down a bit.

"Aren't you scared?" Dan whispered.

"Yeah, but nothing we can really do except keep quiet."

"I guess."

"You okay?" David whispered. "If I let you go, you're not going to bolt,
are you?" Then he gave Dan a small grin.

"No."

"Okay, just take it easy," David soothed again, slowly rolling off the boy
beneath him. The pot moved again, making them jerk, then the scuffling
sound started moving in their direction. Dan snapped his head around to
look at David. Then he started to raise himself up again. David quickly
rolled back over him, putting a hand over his mouth. Dan trembled under
him, or was it him trembling? He wasn't quite sure. The boys heard the
scuffling pass by the tent then heard the underbrush rustle. They stayed
in this position until the rustling faded. Dan's eyes were still wide, and
once again David tried to calm the boy down, rubbing his arm. He rolled
partway off of Dan, putting his hand on the front of the boy's shoulder and
continued to rub gently. He felt the other boy relax and put his hand on
David's shoulder, squeezing it gently.

"Thanks, Dave. I'm sorry to be such a baby."

"Hey I was scared too," David whispered, his attention focused on listening
for whatever had left to return. He was still running his palm on the
boy's shoulder, then without thinking began to rub it across his chest. He
heard Dan gasp, as his palm grazed over one of his nipples, then Dan asked,
"What are you doing?"

Snapping back to what he was doing, he snatched his hand away from Dan's
body. "Sorry, man, I wasn't thinking."

Dan squeezed his shoulder again briefly then dropped his hand. "S'ok, just
felt kinda weird, and, well......"

"Well?" David began to ask, then Dan's hand grabbed his wrist, sliding into
his sleeping bag. David felt the back of his knuckles rub against Dan's
briefs, then it was back outside the bag, and Dan was grinning,
embarrassed.

Dan giggled a little, "Well, it sorta made me, ummm, well you know."

David was shocked at the action. It happened so quick, he didn't know if
what Dan was saying was true or not about his state of arousal. He focused
again on Dan's face, and seeing the worried expression, smiled and said,
"It's cool, man."

"Well, I'm not a homo or anything," Dan stated. "But you know, it's been a
while since, well....ummm, and I guess what you did sorta, ummmm, felt too
good."

"S'ok Dan, no problem, don't worry about it."

"Well, I didn't want you to think I was like John or anything, guess I'm
just...well, you know."

David chuckled quietly, "Yeah I know."

"Ummmm," Dan began, then stopped.

David laid back in his bag, "What?"

"Well, would you mind if I....ummmm?"

David snickered quietly, "Nah, we all do it, and it HAS been a while. As
long as you don't mind if I do."

"No way, go ahead," Dan answered.

David watched Dan's bag-covered movements as he reached down to the bottom
of his bag out of the corner of his eye. He saw Dan's knees come up, and
some movement as Dan slid his briefs down. David, meanwhile was doing the
same, retrieving his socks from the bottom of his bag and sliding his
briefs down to his thighs. He saw Dan close his eyes, and some slight
movement from around the other boy's crotch as he pleasured himself.
Imagining what was going on in Dan's bag, he was soon stroking his own
erection inside his warm sleeping bag. He heard Dan gasp a little and
looked over to him, seeing the boy's face clench, then relax as he let out
his breath. Turning his attention back to the task at hand, David
continued to stroke himself, feeling the orgasm build. Then he tensed up,
sucking in a quiet breath as his cum shot into the sock he had ready. He
slowly relaxed, then heard Dan laugh.

"What?"

"You sure do look funny when you shoot."

"So do you," David shot back, grinning.

Then Dan got serious, "This isn't like homo or anything is it?"

"Nah, just having fun, and relieving some stress," David assured.

"Okay, just wondering," Dan answered, satisfied. "I guess if we wanted to,
we could do it every night, right?"

David laughed, "Yeah, if the mood hits I guess. As long as you keep your
hands to yourself," he joked hopefully.

"Yeah, don't worry about that," Dan answered, taking away David's faint
hope of something more.

"Cool," David said, keeping the disappointment out of his voice.

"Dave, thanks for being cool tonight. You're not gonna tell anyone about
me being scared are you?"

"Nah," David answered, pulling up his briefs. Then he grinned at Dan,
pulling his sock from inside his bag, "Think we need to put these in the
bear bag?"

"I'm just gonna shove it under the bottom of my bag," answered Dan, pulling
his sock out, and sliding it between his bag and the floor of the tent at
his feet. David grinned at him and did the same.

"Night, man, and if you wake me up again, you'll be sleeping outside," he
joked.

Dan chuckled, "You wouldn't do that. Night."

Both boys rolled away from each other, each finally slipping into a
well-needed slumber.

*****************************************************************************

Disappointing, huh? Oh well, that's what happened. Sue me...lol

Dan was cute, but definitely not interested in anything more than what
happened. Now, his little brother was another story...for another time.
How's that for a cliffhanger? lol

The bear attack story at the saloon was a ruse - if you hadn't guessed that
by now. There WAS a danger of bears getting into stuff, there was an
attack on a campsite a day or two before this incident, but in another part
of the camp - which is what the boys were talking about at the beginning of
the chapter. The staff, correctly figuring that by halfway through the
trip, we would be getting a little lax, staged the incident to get our
attention back. Boy, did it work.

What was outside the tent? The next morning, there were raccoon tracks all
over the site. It was sort of embarrassing in the daylight to think we had
been so scared, but you know how it goes. :-)
