Subject: Life Goes On - David and Chad #59

STANDARD DISCLAIMER: This is the continuation of David's story. One of two
boys loving each other. So the same disclaimer applies. If you can't
handle that, or it's illegal to read this in your area, or you're underage,
then now is the time to leave. If you continue reading after that
admonishment, Nifty and I aren't responsible.

There could also be incidents of unprotected sex. As always, I don't
condone this practice - especially in this day and age.

This will probably be the last chapter I post before the holidays. I was
anticipating getting the "Christmas Break" chapter posted before or around
the holiday, but no guarantees. To all those who have emailed me, thanks
for taking the time. As I said before, I'll get back to you, but it may be
a few days. Take care and happy holidays.

Take care, and be safe.

FROM CHAPTER 58

David started to panic again, then realized Greg had no idea what the dream
was about, or how close he had come to hitting it on the head. He shot
Greg a small grin. "That's okay, I think I can manage."

"Okay, your loss," Greg replied, then boosted himself back into his bunk.

"Guess so," David answered, then slipped back under his blankets.

"Night, Dave."

"Night Greg," David replied, but sleep was elusive.

LIFE GOES ON - DAVID AND CHAD #59 - Endgame

David awoke bleary-eyed. The deep breathing and quiet snores from above,
the dim light in the room, told him it was still early. The dream still
haunted him. He shuddered slightly at the memory of Chad's voice
interrupting. David rolled onto his back and stared at the bedsprings
above him. How was he going to handle this without pissing off Greg?
After all, Greg WAS attractive and gave pretty good shoulder rubs. And he
had to live with him for the next six months. Maybe his plan wasn't
working. But dammit, Greg never missed the opportunity to display himself
to David. And after all, Greg was here. Chad would never know, unless
David told him. He shook his head violently at that thought. No way. He
couldn't do it. He had promised never to hurt Chad on purpose, and here he
was planning to do just that. Obviously, he had to figure out a way to
keep Greg at a distance, without letting him know something was up. But
how? David sighed and slipped his hands behind his head. What to do? He
definitely had to think of something before the game got too dangerous and
reached the point of no return. "Just end it," David murmured to himself.
He'd think of something.

As the light brightened outside, he heard Greg sigh and stretch above him.
Then his face was peering over the side of the top bunk at David. "You
still awake?"

"Yeah, not much sleep."

Greg grinned wryly. "I guess not. After that nightmare you had. Thought
you were gonna lay me out."

David shrugged. "Sorry 'bout that."

"S'okay, Dave, what are roomies for?" Greg smiled, then pulled his head
back, then slipped over the side of the bunk. David noticed Greg's morning
erection inside his briefs, then rolled over on his side, away from the
display.

"Gonna take a shower," Greg stated, walking over to his closet.

"Don't use all the hot water," David said, trying to lighten his mood.

"No sweat, comin?"

"Nah, think I'll try to catch some sleep."

"Good idea," Greg answered, wrapping his towel around his waist and heading
out the door.

After his roomie was gone, David slipped back into a light slumber. Greg
re-entering the room later disturbed his sleep, but he remained facing the
wall. He heard Greg slip into his clothes and exit the room again. David
smiled as his roommate ran into Mark and Vic, their muffled voices and
laughter fading down the hall. Their voices gave David an idea. Maybe not
the best one, but so far it was the only thing that came to his mind. It
was worth a shot. He'd talk to Mark later in the day. David slipped into
sleep again.

An hour or two later, he awoke and stretched. Greg didn't appear to be
around, but muffled voices from next door told him Mark and Vic were. He
slipped out of bed, threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, grabbed his
toiletries and headed down the hall to shower and take care of his morning
ablutions. On his way back, he knocked on his neighbors' door.

"Hey, ugly," Mark grinned, waving him inside.

"Look in a mirror lately?"

"Yep, and it just proves my point," Mark laughed.

"Yeah, right."

"So what brings you to our humble abode?"

"Well, this is kind of embarrassing," David admitted, a small grin on his
face.

"What? The fact that you're ugly?"

"Takes one to know one, ya know. But seriously, has Greg said anything
about having a girlfriend?"

Mark looked at Vic, eyebrows raised. At Vic's head shake, Mark looked back
at David. "Me neither."

"Well, I think he needs hooked up. And since you're the stud on
campus...," David trailed off with a grin.

Mark held up his hands. "Hey man, I've tried. He doesn't seem interested.
How come?"

"Ahhh, no reason, he just seems lonely."

"He been hitting on you?" Vic joked.

"Nah, just thought I'd try to help the roomie out."

"Well, a saint you're not," Mark snickered. "There's gotta be another
reason."

"Umm, no," David shook his head.

"He's been kinda stuck to you the last couple of weeks," Mark stated.

"It's been that noticeable?" David asked, sitting in Mark's desk chair.

"Kinda, yeah," Mark admitted. "It making you nervous?"

"Some," David confessed. "It's kinda weird, ya know?"

"Want us to say something to him?"

"Nah, probably make him all uptight."

"Look Dave, I don't think anyone's really noticed it besides us. After
all, we hang out all the time."

"Yeah, shit, it's no big deal. Unless it makes you uptight," Vic added.

"In a way it does, and then in another, it doesn't."

"Well, that's a real firm position," Mark laughed.

David grinned and rolled his eyes. "Yeah? I got something firm for ya."

"Uh, no thanks," Mark laughed. "Save it for Greg."

David snorted. "Yeah right."

"Seriously Dave, is he making you nervous?"

David shrugged. "Sometimes."

"Say something to him then. He probably doesn't realize he's doing it,"
Vic said.

David sighed. "Yeah, I guess. I've had to before and he got all
defensive."

"You think he's...?"

David shrugged at Mark's question. "Dunno. And really don't care, but I
don't think he even knows."

"That sucks," Mark said. "I mean we wouldn't care either. As long as he
didn't pull any moves on us," he added.

"Yeah, but you're the big stud on campus. Attractive to women AND men,"
David laughed. "Must be hell to be that much of a stud."

"Yeah, uh huh," Mark mumbled.

"Well, I'D go out with you," Vic laughed.

Mark shot a glare at Vic, who just grinned and batted his eyes. "See what
I have to put up with?"

David chuckled. "Told ya."

Mark shook his head. "Well, it's like Vic said. If it makes you nervous,
say something to him. I've tried to work my magic on getting him a
squeeze."

"Some magic," Vic snorted, and Dave laughed.

"If I wanted any crap from you, I'd rattle your cage," Mark shot back at
Vic.

"Now boys, let's not have a tiff," David grinned.

"Well, sounds like you and the roomie have an issue," Mark stated.

"Dunno how much of an issue, but maybe I should say something, huh?"

Mark shrugged. "Up to you, man."

David stood. "Well, maybe next time, I'll write Dear Abby," he chuckled.

"Hey, we're engineering majors, not psychology," Vic laughed.

"Well, that's as good an excuse as any, I guess," David smiled. "So what
are you guys doing today?"

"Dunno, I guess you want us to be your social directors too?" Mark grinned.

"Sure, why not? Maybe if I hang around with you, some of that studliness
will wear off on me."

"No chance, man. All mine," Mark smiled.

"Need all you can get," David laughed, ducking out the door before Mark
could reply. He entered his room and put his shower and toiletry stuff
away, then sat down at his desk, opening a text book. What to do about
Greg? His game was kind of blowing up in his face. Should he say
anything? COULD he say anything without pissing his roommate off? He
sighed and put his chin in his hands. "Man. This sucks."

He was still thinking about his situation when Greg walked in about 30
minutes later. "Hey, Dave, what's up?"

Shaking himself out of his reverie, he looked at Greg and smiled. "Not
much, where you been?"

"Just over at the rec hall, playing pinball. Thought you might need some
sleep."

"Yeah, thanks, I appreciate that."

Greg walked over and patted David's shoulder. "No sweat."

"Thanks."

Greg's reply was to squeeze David's shoulder briefly, then lightly smack
the back of his head.

"What was that for, you goofball?"

"For almost laying me out," Greg laughed.

"Oh," David replied, then quickly jumped out of his chair, and grabbed Greg
in a loose headlock. Greg squirmed good-naturedly, then relaxed.

"Okay, I give."

"Too late, roomie," David replied then poked Greg's side, making him
squirm. "Ticklish, are we?"

"Nope."

David poked again, getting the same response. "Sure you're not."

"I'm not."

"Okay, whatever you say," David replied, removing his arm from around
Greg's neck. "You got a few minutes?"

"Sure, what's up?" Greg answered, sitting down on David's bunk.

"Just wanna ask you some stuff. It's kind of embarrassing, but you gotta
tell the truth, okay?"

"Umm, this sounds bad," Greg said, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Not really, just I need to know a few things, that's all. And no matter
what the answer is, I don't mind, okay?"

"I guess," Greg answered dubiously.

Reluctant to get right into it, David stalled. "Seriously, I don't mind
what the answers are."

"Jeez, Dave, just get on with the inquisition, will ya?"

David sighed. "Okay, we've gotten to know each other pretty well, right?"
At Greg's nod, David continued. "Gotten pretty close?" Greg nodded again.
David drew in a breath, then asked, "So how close do you want to get?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, you've gotten pretty physical in the couple months you've been
here."

"Huh?"

"Okay, when you first got here, you acted like touching another guy was
queer, and now you're giving me shoulder rubs and all."

Greg shrugged, "Guess I'm just getting more comfortable, that's all. I
mean I'll stop if it makes you uptight."

David shook his head. "No, that's okay, I mean it just seems like, I
dunno, that you've...," he paused, thinking of a tactful way of wording his
next thought, "..kind of changed your mind about touching another guy,
that's all."

"Shit, Dave, do you think I'm...," Greg began, rising up off the bunk.

"No, no, sit down. Don't get pissed off. I'm just trying to figure some
things out, that's all."

Greg's demeanor remained defensive, but he sat back down. "Just what the
hell are you saying, Dave?"

"Okay, look, don't get me wrong, I mean I enjoy being physical with people.
Just I'd like to know where they're coming from, that's all. I don't want
to give the wrong impression. I've kinda been wondering, that's all."

"You mean you think I'm queer?"

"Not at all," David replied quickly, trying to defuse Greg's anger. "I
guess I'm just saying that with some of the things you've said and done, it
could be mistaken, that's all."

"Am I acting that way?"

Greg was angry, David could tell. "I'm just worried that I'm giving the
wrong impression, that's all. I don't really care one way or another. Let
me put it this way. If you are, I don't care," David held up a hand to
stifle Greg's reply. "Really, I don't, but you just have to watch
yourself, that's all."

Greg remained silent, glaring at David. Then he sighed and his expression
lightened. "No, I'm not. You said I could be honest, right?"

David nodded. "What we say stays here, man."

Greg paused before dropping his eyes. "I dunno, Dave. I heard all these
stories about college and all."

"What stories?"

"Ummm," Greg started then flushed. "Never mind."

"C'mon, Greg."

"Umm, well, like weird stuff." David remained silent. "You know, circle
jerks and all," he finished lamely.

David chuckled. "Well, bud, I don't know where ya heard them, but I think
you've discovered that you can't believe everything you hear."

"Well, I just thought if they were true, you'd be the one to know."

"Huh?" David asked, surprised. "Why me?"

Greg shrugged. "Well, you just seem to be pretty open-minded, I guess. I
mean not everyone would give their roommate a shower."

"You were wasted. Couldn't stand up. Didn't want you to fall down and
break anything."

"Yeah, I know. But not everyone would do that."

"Probably not, but I couldn't let you sleep in your own puke."

"Yeah, I guess I just thought you might be..."

"What? Queer?" David asked softly.

"No, not that, just, ummm, I dunno."

"What?"

Greg shrugged.

"What? You wanna jerk off with me or something?" David asked with a slight
rough tone, remembering Greg's earlier comment about circle jerks. "Maybe
ask Mark and Vic to join in?"

"Hell no," Greg exclaimed. "Not them." Then realizing what he had said,
blushed and even deeper shade of red.

David sighed. "So you thought I might jack off with you? Is that what all
of this is about?"

"Well, my cousin was asking if I ever did anything like that with my
roommate. Over Thanksgiving, when he slept in my room. He said that it
happened all the time."

"And how old is this cousin of yours?"

"18."

David chuckled. "Wow, he sure knows how to stir things up. So did you two
mess around?"

"Hell no, he's my cousin."

"Okay, okay," David replied with a smile. "No need to get all worked up.
Just askin' that's all."

"Look, you won't tell Mark and Vic?"

"Hell no, Greg. Told ya I wouldn't."

"You don't think I'm queer, do you?"

David laughed. "Nah, just falling into the dark 'college stories' stuff,
that's all. You know, I bet 99 percent of those stories are lies anyway."

"Sounds like it," Greg replied ruefully. "You're not mad?"

"Nah, if I didn't want to hear the answers, I wouldn't have asked the
question. And as far as the subject matter, well, let me think about it."

"Huh? The...oh yeah."

David chuckled at his roommate's discomfiture. "Hey, no big deal, man.
And you're pretty good at the neck rubs. I was just worried that I was
leading you on, that's all."

"Umm, no," Greg mumbled, eyes still downcast, face still crimson.

"Hey, look, all I'm saying is to be careful how you act, okay? Like I
said, it could be mistaken, and that's not the kind of rumor you want
running around campus."

"Yeah, okay. Thanks, man."

"It's cool. Can't believe you told me."

Greg shrugged. "It's been bugging me for a while. Thought maybe I wasn't
doing something right. Or that I wasn't good enough."

"See, don't believe everything you hear, Greg," David answered. He almost
continued by saying that Greg WAS more than good enough, but held his
tongue. He didn't want to go down that road again. "Tell ya what. Think
about it over break, and if ya want, we'll talk some more. It's cool. But
keep in mind I have someone back home that might get a little upset if they
found out I was beating off with my roommate."

Greg nodded. "But why would you tell them?"

"They'd find out. I can't lie very well," David replied. "Then the shit
would hit the fan."

"Okay, I get it," Greg answered. "Guess I'll just put it down to being
stupid."

"Nah, not stupid, just misinformed," David answered.

"Sounds like it," Greg admitted, then looked up at David. "Sure you're not
mad?"

"Nope, not at all. Thanks for telling me though. I mean maybe you need to
find a babe to do it for ya," David laughed.

Greg smiled. "Maybe."

"Well, until you do, just don't keep me awake with the moans and groans at
night, okay?" David joked.

"Well, I'll try. That goes for you too," Greg retorted.

"Well, you know, sometimes I get carried away." David winked.

Greg broke out into laughter. "Yeah right."

David became serious. "We okay?"

"Yeah, okay, thanks."

"What say we go shoot some pool? Give ya a chance to play with sticks and
balls?"

Greg blushed again. "Umm, kinda lay off, would ya?"

"Yeah, okay, my mistake."

"Yeah, challenging me to pool," Greg grinned.

"Let's go," David said, standing up.

Well, that's as close to what happened as I can remember. Dave and Greg
aren't through yet, but the game has ended. Stay tuned...

Until later, friends, take care.
