They froze. Aaron could hear Kevin's quiet breathing in the silence.
They were both very tense; rigid with what would happen next and wondering
what Aaron's dad had heard. They were standing about 5 feet away from
him and could distinctly see a face with absolutely no emotion on it.
Kevin looked at Aaron with tears in the corners of his eyes.

"Don't cry."

It was Aaron's dad, Nick, who said it.

"Aaron," he said, his voice calm and crisp, "I don't mind. I would never
hate you for loving someone, anyone. I want you to know that."

A tear rolled down Kevin's cheek. Aaron looked at him and took his hand
gingerly.

He whispered softly, looking at his soft, pale cheek.
"I love you, Kevin."

As he squeezed his hand, Kevin started crying and stared down at his feet
to hide his face. But it didn't hide his gasping sobs. Nick turned around
and walked down the steps to go downstairs. Aaron pulled Kevin close and
he immediately wrapped his arms around him, crying even harder, making
both their bodies shudder wit each breath. Through short, raspy breaths,
he said "I love you too," and, still a mess, broke the hug and walked
hand-in-hand back into the bedroom and sat on Aaron's bed. They just
stared at the wall, going over what had happened. When Kevin's tears
turned into sniffels, Aaron got up and handed him a tissue box. He
gratefully accepted them and blew his nose hard. Aaron sat back down
and stared at his boyfriend. He looked so vulnerable. His tears still
shimmering on his cheeks and nose like pearls of innocence.

He laid his hand on Kevin's leg and, as he looked over, trailing his eyes
up Aaron's arm, their eyes locked. He rotated is torso and moved his
other arm to the far side of Kevin's body, slipping his hand under his
shirt and to his upper chest, and forced him to lie down. Kevin closed
his eyes, tired, and laid his hand on Aaron's crotch. Aaron smiled to
himself and hugged him closer before also closing his own eyes. Both
having gotten closure in their own minds, they fell asleep in each others'
arms, on Aaron's bed, with the door unlocked, with Nick right in the
other room. And they didn't care.

This time, Aaron dreamed. He was in the same place Kevin was days before,
but instead, was sitting down in a meditative position. He opened his
eyes, startled, when he was violently shook to attention by the same
angel. Confused, he just looked at him, with his hands in his lap.

"Hey, don't just sit there. Your blocking traffic," said the angel.

"What?" replied Aaron, still confused.

"You heard me, now move please. I have to take my flying elephant monkey
for a walk."

"Uh, okay," Aaron said stuttering, noticing one of the angel's eyes
crossing, then the pupil actually moving into the other eye.

He walked over to the side of the road and let the angel walk by. He
noticed a strap in one of his hands resembling a leash. It led upward.
Aaron tried to follow it up with his eyes but couldn't see what it was
attached to through all the dense clouds so he just watched the strange
angel walk out of view.

"Wow. Heaven just isn't what I thought it would be."

He sat back down and the dream ended. The road faded from view, as did
the memory of it ever happening at all. He had countless other short
dreams as his mind fired off its electronic impulses, trying to make sense
of the day's happenings in its own way. The only dream Aaron remembered
happening was him walking down a seemingly endless yet familiar street on
the sidewalk with an unfamiliar person holding his hand. They never looked
at each other but they walked for what seemed miles, the street never
ending and the surroundings always different.

When he awoke, it was 7PM. They had slept for quite some time. Kevin had
already snuck out of his grip when he woke up, it seemed. He was sitting
in a rolling chair, looking at him with a smile on his face.

"You don't snore," he said after a few seconds.

"That's good," replied Aaron. He paused for a few seconds and then asked,
"Do I talk?"

"Not that I heard."

Aaron crawled across the bed and laid on his stomach. He made a thoughtful
gesture to his chin and replied, "Are you sure? I could have sworn I called
out your name." Kevin answered "nope," and then both busted out laughing.
Kevin sighed after it was over and leaned back in the chair, staring at
the ceiling.

"Well I should go home. You know; homework and all. But don't worry my love,
I shall return to you."

Kevin got up and walked over to where Aaron was lying and put a finger on
his cheek. Aaron lifted his head to look at him, straining with muscles.
Kevin puckered his lips and kissed the air down at Aaron. With that he
removed the finger and walked out of the room.

On the way out of the house, he saw Nick and walked over to him.

"I know you said what you wanted to say, but now I have something I want to
tell you."

He waited for Nick to nod his head to go on before he continued, "I really
love Aaron and I know you don't disprove of that, but I just had to tell you
I won't ever treat him bad. We stick up for each other. We're practically
brothers, buuuut, don't quote me on that cause then it'd be incest," he ender
with a laugh.

"I understand. I know you both are good for each other. Go ahead and do
whatever you want, heh, I'm happy that you guys are happy. Fallow your
heart is what I always say."

"Yeah," Kevin said and walked toward the door. "Thanks again for
understanding. Bye."
