What Gets Around Comes Around Chapter 4

A special thanks to Ed for his editorial help.

People often do things that are very harmful. But teenagers can be very
cruel. This is the story of one such cruel boy who has to learn the hard
way 'what gets around comes around'. Although this is a work of fiction
it's based in part on things that have really happened. For those of you
who read my last story 'My Bodyguard', this one is quite different. This
is a story about revenge, paybacks, and ultimately reconciliation.

Although this is not a porn story it does deal with sexual relationships
between teenage boys. If that offends you don't read it. Also if you are
not old enough or it's illegal where you live don't read it.

Curt woke up wrapped in John's arms. He felt incredible. He felt loved.
Soon reality returned and he realized he's not good enough for him. At
least the way he is. Curt disentangled himself from John and went to the
bathroom and took care of business.

When he returned John was awake and made his way into the bathroom also.
The boys dressed and checked out. They stopped at a Denny's and had
breakfast. Then they headed for home. Both boys had been quiet. This is
not unusual for John so if anything was going to be said, Curt knows he has
to get it started. After on hour of considering an opening line he speaks.

"John, do you think we can start over again with our friendship? I need
you."

"I've been thinking about it, Curt. You remember when I told you that you
can't expect someone to change for you?"

"Yes, you said that it never works."

"You have to want to change to suit yourself and not someone else, Curt. I
can help you but if you get it in your head that you are trying to change
for me and not yourself, we'll have problems. Do you understand?"

"Yes."

"The biggest thing you need to change is the way you feel about yourself.
You will need some help changing your self-image. The pastor of our church
would be a good person to talk to."

"Won't he hate me when I tell him I'm gay?"

"The pastor of my church doesn't hate anyone. Also he can help you
understand what the Bible really says when it comes to the question of
homosexuality. The Bible is only as good as the translation and
interpretation. You can use the Bible and pull stuff out of context to
support most any view that you want. The only way you're ever going to
change, Curt, is with God's help. You can't possibly do it on your own.
Also, you need to deal with your parents."

"Well I have almost a week to think about it. I do think you're right
about me talking to someone about my feelings."

"That's a start, Curt, and it's free advice. Pastor Clark is a good man
and I'm sure that he can help you. Where did your parents go anyway?"

"They went to Florida on like a second honeymoon."

"That might help, at least they'll be in a good mood when they come home."

"If I go through all these changes, John, do you think you will ever fall
in love with me?"

"I can't answer that question, Curt. Like I said before, love isn't a
switch that you can turn on and off. I do know that if you have love in
your heart, love will find you. I think first you need to answer to
yourself, whether or not you're gay. You might be bisexual and end up in a
normal relationship. No one ever chooses to be gay, just like you can't
choose who you love. I'm attracted to some girls sexually but when I get
to know them they turn me off. All my friends are guys."

"I know what you mean. I went out with Mary for six months but I was never
in love with her. What you're saying is the relationships are more about
love than sex."

"You're learning. But relationships are more about friendship than love.
If you love someone and you're not friends first, how long do you think the
relationship will last? Furthermore if a relationship is based on sex, how
long do you think that lasts? To tell you the truth, Curt, I know nothing
about you. You never talk about your family. Our relationship before I
broke it off was totally superficial. Yesterday was the first time you
ever told me how you really felt about anything except for hating your
parents. Yesterday was also the first time I ever shared how I felt. I
don't know quite how to tell you this, Curt, but we were never friends. I
hated most of the time we spent together. If you could have seen Brian and
me together for just a few hours you would know what I mean. Our
relationship was completely one-sided, me entertaining you. Me letting you
win. Me getting you high. Me letting you drive my truck. And all you did
was TAKE, TAKE, TAKE and never gave anything. You never gave a damn how I
felt. If we start over, YOU ARE going to need to give. I promised that I
would help you through this but the chances of us ever becoming friends are
like 1000 to 1. You're just not the type of guy that I fall for, Curt.
What attracts me is a person with a warm caring heart. Someone who treats
others with respect, no matter what race, religion, or I.Q. they have.

Curt had never seen John get upset before and this was quite a revelation
for him to hear. That was also the most he'd ever heard John say at one
time. Any hope of having a relationship at least for now went right out
the window. Curt wanted to break down and cry but he controlled himself.

"I'm sorry," Curt said.

"There's no need to be sorry, what's done is done. We can't change the
past. We can only look at the future. The only way to understand the
future is to understand the past. Tell me about your past, Curt - about
your family."

"My granddad on my father's side was a rough-neck (utility worker on an oil
rig) and grandma was a homemaker. He was only home on weekends and drank
when he was home. I think that's where my dad gets it. Dad also said that
he got mean when he drank. He died before I was born, from cancer.
Grandma remarried and still lives in town."

"My granddad on my mother's side was stationed at the Air Force Base when
my father was in high school. Mom and Dad fell in love and got married
right after they found out she was pregnant with me. Dad was a big track
star in high school. He won a scholarship to college and made the Olympic
track team. He didn't win any medals but the fact that he was on the team
was enough to get him an assistant coaching job at the local college.
Several years later the head coach retired and Dad took over."

"When I was a little boy I had great respect for my dad. I wanted to be
like him and asked him to take me to track practices. I started working
out with the team when I was six. I found that I loved to run and
sprinting is one of my favorite things to do. By the time I started
running on my junior high school track team I was way ahead of everyone
else. I loved all the attention that my school track coach showed me."

"About this time Dad started drinking and getting mean. When he's drinking
he gets real abusive and is no fun to be around. Also he's forced to have
blacks and Mexicans on his team and he goes on and on about how he hates
them. He feels that they should not even have them in the school, let
alone on his team."

"Mom isn't any better. She hates Catholics, Mormons, and anyone who
doesn't go to our church. We go to the 'Church of Christ' and she says
that anyone who's not a member of our church is going to hell."

"Both my parents hate gay people. They say that AIDS is God's revenge on
them. When I was 13, my mom caught me beating off and Dad beat me with his
belt until I almost passed out. He said that if I ever did anything like
that again he would throw me out. At the same time I started feeling
attracted to some of my friends. I thought it was just a phase and that
I'd grow out of it. I suppressed my urges and started taking it out on
anyone I felt could be gay. It became an obsession with me and by the time
I got to high school I kept a list of those I felt were gay and needed to
be exposed so they could not prey on us straight boys. I still found that
I was indeed more attracted to boys than girls and this worried me even
more. I couldn't let anyone know. I couldn't let my guard down. That's
why I acted the way I did. I'm so sorry, John."

"Can I trust you, Curt?"

"My life is in your hands, John. You know enough about me to destroy my
life. Six months ago if I had the same information I have now I would have
outted you but now that I have seen the pain I have caused I can't do that
any more. You can trust me."

"Okay, open up the glove box."

Curt opened up the glove box and pulled out a three-ring binder.

"What's this?" Curt asked.

"One of Brian's talents is writing. He wrote this story about our
relationship and posted it on the web. That is a copy of our story.
You're a strong guy, Curt, but I can guarantee you will cry while you read
this story. It will show you a side of me you have never seen before. I
think it important that you read it but keep it to yourself. Read it this
week when you're home with nothing to do. I think once you start reading
it you will be reading until you finish. When you're finished, we'll talk
about it. Okay?"

The boys didn't talk much the rest of the way home. They were both deep in
their own thoughts. John still didn't trust Curt but he felt the he could
handle anything that Curt might throw his way. Curt was feeling incredibly
guilty. John dropped Curt off at home and headed home himself. Curt found
10 messages from his dad on the answering machine and they warned him that
he better have a good excuse for being gone overnight.

His dad called shortly after he got home and said they would have a talk
about where Curt was when he got home. He also warned him that he better
not leave again or have any parties.

Curt went to bed early and fell asleep quickly. He got up early the next
day, took a shower and ate breakfast. Then he decided to read Brian's
story.

Brian and John Chapter 1

Hi, my name is Brian and this is my story. I've always been different from
other little boys. When all the other kids played baseball and football I
sat in my room and read. I like to go for walks and stuff but I am always
by myself. I also like to draw and paint and play my guitar. I'm really
short for my age and have always been the shortest one in my class. I have
brown hair and green eyes.

At 13 things started to change for me. First my dad had a talk with me
about sex. I love both of my parents and they never push me into doing
anything I don't want to do. I suppose that it was the standard sex talk
up to a point. Here's what Dad said.

"Brian, I just explained how babies are made and stuff but I think that
there is more information that you need to know. Both your mom and I have
noticed that you are different than other boys your age. You're very much
a loner. You don't like the other activities that other boys like. You
have told us how you always get teased at school because of it."

"Your mother and I have both come to the conclusion that you are special.
You are a very talented boy. Not all boys are attracted to girls, Son.
Some are attracted to other boys. This is called homosexuality. It is
normal for boys your age to experiment with other boys. About 50% of boys
experiment at some time. About 1 out of 10 boys finds that he is attracted
to other boys after they grow up. They even fall in love and become
couples. Many people will tell you that this is sick and perverted. Some
will even say that people like that will be damned forever by God. Most
homosexuals have some of the same characteristics that you have. I'm not
saying that that alone could make you different but it is a good indicator.
I want you to know that your mom and I love you, no matter who you love.
Don't ever be afraid to talk to us about what is going on in your life,
Brian."

"I know what a homosexual is, Dad. The kids at school call me a faggot or
queer all the time. I just ignore them. I honestly don't know what I am
yet. It still hurts when other boys call me names and push me around."

"I just want you to know, Brian, that we are here for you. We will support
you no matter what."

I gave my dad a big hug and we talked some more. He told me about
masturbation and fetishes and other surpassing things. He said that a
pyromaniac gets off by burning down buildings and some people even get off
with dead people. Now that's weird. I asked Dad what gay guys do to each
other and he explained to me just how it works between two men and the
problems that it can cause. He also told me all about STD's and how to
protect myself. Then he shocked me and went to his room and came back with
a box of condoms. Then he explained how to use them and gave the box to
me. He went on to tell me that I should wait to have sex until I'm older
and in love with someone but he knows how horny teenagers are and if I need
more, just ask. I opened one up and started laughing, saying that they
were way too big. Dad laughed and said that I would soon fit into them.

I really love my parents. My dad has some important job with GTE of the
Southwest that has its corporate headquarters here in San Angelo. My mom
is a schoolteacher and teaches the 1st grade. When I was in 1st grade she
was my teacher. Now that's weird.

I should tell you a little about our town. It's located way out in the
middle of nowhere in West Texas. The nearest town is Abilene and it's
about 90 miles away. An Air Force Base and a college support the economy.
The water tastes terrible and we only drink and cook with bottled water.
This town sucks and I can't wait until I grow up and move away from here.
In the summertime it's so hot, being outside is not an option. It's summer
8 months a year. In the winter it gets cold and even snows. There is no
spring or fall.

I noticed some hair growing around my dick, and my dick and balls are
getting bigger. I tried to masturbate with some hand cream. At first I
didn't see what the big deal was and then it all started to feel great. I
kept going faster and faster and then this wave of pleasure I had never
felt before started from my toes and raced up my body and ended up at my
cock with an explosion. This white stuff came shooting out. I almost
passed out. My heart was beating so fast that I felt like I'd been
running. I was breathing really fast and I was all sweaty. I cleaned
myself up by jumping in the shower. Ever since then I did it at least once
or twice a day. Dad was right. In no time I was big enough to fill up the
rubber with my dick without it falling off.

I was in 8th grade about halfway through the year. Four guys were pushing
me back and forth when John Conners walked by.

"Leave him alone," John said.

"Why don't you mind your own business, Conners," said Pratt.

"Why don't you pick on someone your own size, Pratt. Not only is he
smaller than you but it takes four of you to make you feel like a man."

"What are you going to do about it?"

"Let me see. I could call my dad at work and he can call the Mayor who
will call the superintendent who will call the principal. Then the
principal will call your parents. Either that or I can gather up my
friends and you can gather up your friends and we can settle this like
men."

Pratt knew that John was friends with many big guys.

"I don't know why you're sticking up for this pansy, Conners."

"Look, Pratt, if it was you being bullied by 4 other kids bigger than you
I'd stick up for you too. Even if I got my ass kicked I could at least
sleep at night. Like I said, if you're looking for someone to pick on,
pick on me. If it's trouble you're looking for, you've found it!"

Pratt finally backed down and left.

"Thanks for sticking up for me. No one has ever stuck up for me before!"

"Why not, don't you have any friends?"

"Not really, I guess I'm just too shy."

"Nothing wrong with that. Keeps you out of trouble. Hey, if you need a
friend, I'll be your friend. How would you like to come over to my house
after school sometime?"

"Yea, sure, how about today?"

"Sure."

We talked and I found out that he lived about a half mile away from me.
Well within biking distance. I couldn't believe that John Conners might
want to be my friend. He's the most popular kid in our school. Everyone
wants to be his friend. Every girl has a crush on him.

Right after I got home from school I jumped on my bike and raced over to
his house. My mom told me I had to be home by 6 for dinner so I raced. I
got to his house and I could not believe how big it is. I nervously
knocked on the door and John's dad answered.

"You must be Brian. John said you were coming over. He's out by the pool.
Let me show you."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Conners," I said, extending my hand.

"Nice to meet you too," he replied, shaking my hand and smiling widely.

Mr. Conners is a big man. Of course everyone is big to me. I'd say that
he is like 6' 3" and looks like he is about 35. He led me to the back
patio and showed me where the pool is. I walked in back and saw John
swimming laps. As I got closer I could see his bare BUTT sticking out of
the water. Wow, he is swimming nude! I might have gotten hard except I
was now feeling embarrassed.

He suddenly stopped swimming and looked up.

"I thought I could feel some eyes looking at my butt!"

He had a great big silly grin on his face as he said it and I could tell he
was teasing me so I decided to play along.

"Hey, you're the one showing it off. You can't blame a guy for checking
out the competition, can you?"

"Well, I guess that's ok then. You can look all you want but you can't
touch."

"What girl is it reserved for this week, John?"

"You see that's the whole problem here. You know me but I don't know you.
You wanta join me or do something else?"

"Another time perhaps, John. I didn't bring any swim trunks with me and I
never go skinny dipping on the first date."

"Oh, we're dating now! What are you trying to do, give me a stiffy?
What's dad going to say when I go back in the house with my towel sticking
out like a tent?"

"Tell him the truth. You're 13 and it has a mind of its own."

"I suppose he would buy that one. Speaking of towel, why don't you hand it
to me and I'll get out. I've been swimming long enough to turn into a
prune."

I got his towel off the lawn chair and handed it to him. I did check him
out as he got out of the pool. He looked like he was at least semi-erect
and I had to quickly look away. He is about 3 1/2 inches long with a large
sack dangling loosely, and a small patch of hairs just above his dick. He
has a dark tan and a well-defined chest for a 13-year-old. I knew right
then and there that I was attracted to him. I looked him in the eyes and I
felt that he could see my embarrassment. He smiled a smile that I will
never forget. It was like he was saying 'I understand, don't be afraid'.
Then he confirmed what he meant.

"This isn't school, Brian. Don't be afraid to be yourself. I'm not. My
parents have few rules. But one of them is be true to yourself. That
means don't try to fool others by fooling yourself. I'm not at all
embarrassed walking around the house or yard nude with or without a stiffy.
My parents were hippies back in the sixties. They're very liberal."

"My parents weren't hippies but they are cool. I can talk to them about
most anything."

"Well, I can see I'm being a bad host. Let's go up to my room and I'll get
dressed and let's get something to drink."

John did wrap the towel around his waist and covered up my embarrassment.
All good things much come to an end, I guess. We went up to his room and
it is so cool. It's a very large bedroom with his own bathroom. He has a
TV with a VCR, stereo, and computer workstation. He got dressed quickly
and asked, "What do you want to drink?"

"What are you having?"

"Iced tea."

"I'd like that too as long as it's not made from tap water."

"I hear you, Brian. I would have to be dying of thirst to drink nasty
stuff."

"They don't call it lake nasty-water for nothing."

We both laughed on my play on words, (you'll just have to go to San Angelo
to know what I mean or look it up on a map) And he went and got us some
iced tea.

"How long can you stay?"

"I have to be home for dinner at 6 so I can stay until about 5:30."

"Well, that gives us some time to get to know each other. Tell me about
yourself."

I told him about how I like to read. I told him all the books I liked and
he has read and likes many of the same books. I told him how I liked to
play the guitar and he produced the nicest guitar I had ever seen. He
insisted that I play for him. When I finished the first song, John said he
couldn't believe how good I was. I told him that I had written a few of my
own songs and he insisted that I play one.

After I finished, he said, "I can feel your loneliness in that song."

"I remembered that's how I felt when I wrote it."

"You don't need to be lonely any more." And I smiled. Next thing I knew
it was time to go home. Before I left, John pulled me into a hug.

"I had fun. Will you be my friend?" John said.

"I don't have any friends so if you're my friend I guess you'll be my best
friend."

"I can't wait until six months from now when I hear one of your songs
written out of the happiness of our friendship." And his smile melted me.

We said goodbye and I rode my bike home.

I sat at dinner that night and I was beaming. My smile was infectious.
Finally my parents couldn't take it any more.

"I don't ever remember you like this, Brian. You could wake the dead with
that smile."

"I made a friend today."

"Tell us about it."

I told my parents about my day and they seemed very happy for me. After
dinner I went up to my room and Dad came up to talk to me.

"I'm glad that you're happy, Brian, but I just don't want to see you get
hurt. You said that John has a new girl friend every week. I would hate
if two weeks from now John no longer wants to have anything to do with you.
Just don't get your hopes up too much just to be let down later, Brian."

"Dad, if John is my friend for one hour or one day or one week I have to be
better off then I was before. Because that is one hour or one day or one
week more friendship than I have right now. If he decides not to be my
friend any more I'll understand."

Dad left me alone after that, patting my shoulder. I finished my homework
and went to bed. That night when I got my hand cream out I imagined John's
naked body hugging me and I went off like fireworks on the 4th of July. I
fell asleep with a smile on my face.

End of Chapter 1

######

Curt decided to get something for lunch after that. The problem is he
knows how the story ends. He also got to see a part of Brian and John that
he had never seen before. Curt knew he would not stop reading again until
he finished the whole story, no matter how painful it is.

To Be Continued...
