A couple of weeks went by and I haven't heard one word from him.  What if
he went to Vietnam and was killed by the Viet Cong.  What if he was lost
and injured in the jungle waiting for someone to rescue him.  I don't want
the love of my life to come home in a box!  How could someone as sweet and
beautiful as John Webber be drafted.  He is too kind natured to kill a
fellow man.  Cashus Clay claimed that he is a pacifist, therefore he can't
fight.  He even changed his name.  I guess since he's rich and famous he
can do things like that.  It's not that I fault Mohammed Ali for his
actions.  Actually, I find them quite noble.  It's just that the common man
cannot be afforded the luxury of nobility.

A week later I recieved a postcard from John.  Yes, just a postcard.  After
all the worrying that I did, all I got was a postcard.  I know that I
should be more grateful, it lets me know he's still alive.  It says:

	I am leaving for Saigon tomorrow.  I hope it wall go okay.
	My love will fly to you
	John

I don't know why but whenever he says, "My love will fly to you", my heart
just melts.  I just can't stay mad at him forever.  I must keep myself
active.  It's not healthy for me to just sit around and mope.  I read in
the paper that James Dean will be making an appearance at Woolsworth
downtown later.  I think I'll go.

I drove downtown to see James Dean.  Ever since I saw "Rebel" I had a crush
on him.  He just had such a huge amount of sex appeal. It was finally my
turn to get an autograph.  Our eyes met and there seemed to be some kind of
spark.  James Dean asked me if I would meet him down by the peer and I said
yes.
