Chapter 9

I pulled into my place. Peter and the kids were standing on the porch
waiting for me. I barely pulled the team up and all three were at the
wagon's side all talking at once.

"Welcome Home!" shouted Jacob and Lisa running to me and giving me a big
hug.

"Yes, Welcome Home! Do I get a big hug also?" asked Peter.

"Sure thing, you're next."

"Lisa and Jacob Just look at you two! You are all grown up. You are good
looking kids! I don`t think I can all you kids anymore."

Peter stepped up and started giving me a hug. I just accidentally let my
hand drop and touched his crotch. He just grinned and whispered in my ear,
"Naughty, Naughty! I could see an interesting times and fun ahead."

"Shall we all go over and see Paul and Mary. We can get your stuff together
and bring it back with us when we come back over here."

"We built a new addition to the house while you were gone. Mary and Paul
want us to stay and live with them.

"Before I talk with Mary and Paul, I need an honest answer from the both of
you and I mean a honest one. Lisa, you first . How do you feel about living
with Paul and Mary?"

"I loved my mother and miss her very much. I, also, love Mary. She treats
me just as if she is my mother. I am learning to cook and sew. She is also
teaching me to play the Piano. Paul is very good to both of us and I love
him too," said Lisa.

"Paul is great. He is never to busy that he can't help me do something. He
takes me fishing and we play ball together. He has been helping me with my
reading and is teaching me to play the banjo. I love him dearly. I am
Mary's boy. If I cut my finger she kisses it and makes it well. If I am
feeling sad and blue, she just hugs me until I feel better. She always says
that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. She must be getting
close to my heart because my stomach is always full. She can be my ma
anytime."

"Peter, you have been here and have been observing what is happening. How
do you feel about letting Paul and Mary raise the kids?"

"I think that the kids couldn't have a better place to live. Paul and Mary
dearly love these kids and would be honored to call them their own. Lisa
needs a woman around. Some one to comb her hair and put fancy bows in
it. Jacob need a woman to mother him and smother him with lots of love,
hugs and kisses. I know that Paul loves the kids and he would very proud
and honored to have them call him Dad."

"When we go see Paul and Mary, I don't want you kids to mention anything
that we just talked about. If they are sincerely interested in keeping you
kids, they will bring the subject up. So let's go to their place. I am very
interested in what they have to say."  "I'll go hitch the buggy up and then
we can head over to Paul and Mary's place," Said Jacob.

Jacob had learned to drive a team and drove us to Mary and Paul's When we
drove into the yard, both Paul and Mary were on the porch waiting our
arrival. I ran up the steps and grabbed each of them and gave them a big
`Hello' hug and greeting.

"Where is Joshua and why isn't he with you?" asked Mary.

I told them all that had happen the last few days and our decision to go
our separate ways and why.

"That is too bad that you had to split but I understand why. You two were
such a cute couple and everyone knew about your private life. They accepted
the fact that you each preferred men but didn't hold it against you," said
Paul.

"Joshua and a friend and he is just a friend are coming out tomorrow and
Peter is cooking dinner, right Peter?

"If you say so!"

"Why don't you come over and we can have a big reunion? I will even do the
cooking but you can wash the dishes afterward," I said smiling and looking
at Peter.

"We will be there. I will love seeing Peter in the dishpan.. Don't worry,
Peter, just kidding. Lisa and I will do the dishes," Mary said.  "How about
we go inside and have some coffee and a big piece of cake which Mary just
made," said Paul.

Everyone was just sitting around that table talking and eating cake. Paul
looked at Jim and said, "Jim, we have something very important to ask
you. Mary and I have become very, very attached to Jacob and Lisa. We love
them like our own and would like to ask you to allow us to adopt them and
raise them as our son and daughter."

"I don't think the law will allow adoption between different
races. However, I think I can give you full guardianship over the children
until they turn 18. Therefore legally, no one can take them from you."

"You sound like you have already made a decision. Did those children
already talk to you? I'll wring their necks if they did!" said Paul.

"Jim, he is just kidding. He is just a little pussy cat and wouldn't harm a
little flea. We can just wrap him around our little finger," laughed Jacob.

"I know he is just all talk but that is okay. I can feel the love that Paul
and Mary have for you two. I know that you love them as much. Yes, Paul, we
did have a discussion before we came over here. I wanted to hear what you
and Mary had to say and how you felt. However, all things considered, I am
forced to say no unless they come over ever day and give me a big hug!"

"Jim, you are a big tease but I'll give you a big hug anyway, starting
now!" said Lisa running over and threw her arms around Jim's neck and
kissing him on the cheek. Mary was standing there waiting her turn.

After another hour of visiting, I asked Peter if he was ready to go
home. "I would like to get the chores done and clean up a little before it
gets dark."

"Sure thing. I'll go and get the buggy," said Peter.

On the way home Peter said, "You made four people very happy today. They
just became a family and it was all because of you. I know one thing, those
kids will be treated like royalty. Paul and Mary will be king and queen in
their sight. They all have a lot of love for each other and no one can take
away."

"Thanks! I really enjoy making people happy. When those around me are
happy, then I am happy."

"Are you going to make me happy tonight. I know that you and Joshua had a
good thing going. You probably wonder why I have never married but I have
been waiting for the right man to come along and ask me. I think I have
found my man at last," said Peter running his had inside Jim's pants
finding that him all ready hard.

"You know we don't have to wait until tonight. I put some Vaseline and a
blanket in the back of the buggy. . Let's stop at the creek and find a good
grassy spot."

"You don't waste any time, do you? That's okay with me. I am ready for some
loving. I haven't had any for a long time!" cooed Peter. He just slid over
in the seat and kissed me. He just stayed there hugging me and keeping his
hand inside my pants.

"If you don' remove you hand, I am going to have a big mess in my pants."

Meanwhile, back at the creek, Dave and Joshua had camp all set up and time
on their hands. Someone had dammed the creek with mud and rocks and made a
place to swim or bathe. "I think I have several inches of dirt and grime
all over me. I'm going down and clean up a bit. A swim would really feel
good now. What about you. Want to join me?" asked Dave. Joshua immediately
accepted the invitation.

Dave stripped down to his underwear and was getting ready to jump in. "Hey,
take it all off. You will enjoy it a lot more and get cleaner!" exclaimed
Joshua.

"Are you sure?

"Of course I am. I have seen a naked man before. I promise all I will do is
look-for now," laughed Joshua.

"That means that I get to look at you-for now!" chuckled Dave.

They had a good time swimming, and talking.

"Dave, how do you feel about two men having sex together?"

"If that is what they want, then I think it is ok. I have never tried it
myself. I have just had one woman and she was taken from me. I have never
had a interest in looking for someone new to take her place."

"I will be honest with you. Jim and I shared a bed and we love each other
and had great sex. Jim was not my first nor will he be my last. The last
night on the trail just before the attack, we broke up. Jim released me so
I could go to my people and be their doctor. It was very hard to do but we
thought it best to split. That is the reason, I took my little walk. I had
to do some serious thinking and grieving my lost love. That is when I
discovered that soon the three of us could be dead."

"I knew something was happening but I just really know what. I had an idea
that Jim and you were more than just friends."

"Dave, would you like to be my `friend'. We don't have to get serious at
first. If things don't work out, we can always quite and go our separate

"I just don't know. I am really scared to try anything. I don't know the
first thing about loving another man."

can have. Love is Love regardless if it is man to man or man to woman. We

"I would have it no other way. I will do nothing that you don't want to

then we can always be just friends.
