Two Jubilees and a Spitfire.

This story which opens in the 1930's will tell the story of one person from
some of his first memories in the 1930s through to his seventieth birthday
in 2002. There is little description of explicit sexual encounter in the
first part, but give the lad a chance, he does grow up.

Trevor comes from the East End of London and speaks with a cockney accent.
This involves a total non use of an 'h' at the beginning of the a word.
Also 'th' is frequently pronounced 'v' or 'f'.. I have always used a 'v',
even where the sound would be an 'f'. I hope this does not make reading too
difficult, but helps to give colour to the dialogue.

Resume:- Trevor is an eleven year old boy growing up in war time London.
He has got involved as a boy prostitute, but has begun a more serious
relationship with a Jewish man, Isaac. Isaac is aged 30 and originally
came from Austria.

Two Jubilees and One Spitfire. Part 7 Two Persuasions

The New Year weekend set up a pattern that was to be followed for a few
weeks. Trevor came across to Leytonstone on the Saturday midday, and
stayed with Isaac until late on the Sunday afternoon.

It was on the last Sunday afternoon in January 1944, after a long and
satisfying session of love making, that Trevor made his next suggestion.
"I've been vinking. Why don't I come over to you on Friday and stay until
Sunday afternoon. It would give us longer together. Two nights?" The last
two words were said with his usual impish grin.

Isaac kissed the boy's nose, while he thought. "You'd like to?"

Trevor nodded and continued to grin, his eyes sparkling.

"I need to think. I know I am not a good Jew. I don't observe all the
Jewish laws. For example, being in bed and making love to a lovely young
man like you, is certainly disapproved of." He reached down and gently
held Trevor's cock.

Trevor always appreciated being called a young man.

"I like to go to the synagogue. I pray there especially for my family back
in Austria." He was silent for moment in sombre thought. "I have to do
certain things in the house. Washing, cleaning, shopping. I love having
you here, Trevor, more than anything. But it does create problems in the
household area of my life."

"Show me 'ow, and I'd 'elp you," volunteered Trevor.

"I get back from work at different times. I couldn't have you waiting on
the step again in the cold and rain."

"Give me a key, and I could light the fire, and prepare something to eat."

"What about your Mum, what would she say?"

"She'd be alright. Leave the place clear for another night wiv 'er man.
They can play goose together wivout worrying about me."

"Goose?"

"Goose and duck, - fuck," explained Trevor.

Isaac laughed, and ruffled Trevor's hair. "While we play goose here?"

Trevor grinned and gave a vigourous nod.

"We'll try it. But remember I will have to do some work in the house. But
longer with you, sounds good to me."

Trevor put his arms round Isaac and kissed him. "I love you, Isaac. I love
being wiv you more each time we are together."

"And I love you too, more each time, young man"

So it was arranged. Isaac gave Trevor a key before he left for the journey
back to Limehouse.

The war continued. In Italy at the end of January the terrible battle for
Cassino opened. The papers had maps of small scale, showing the position
of the monastery and the town below. In Russia the army of the USSR
continued to tear the guts out of the Wehrmacht. London was still full of
damaged buildings, and everywhere was looking increasingly run down. On
many walls throughout the United Kingdom there was daubed graffiti,
demanding the opening of the second front now! This was especially true in
the East End where there was one of the two communist MPs, and where
support for the Russian comrades was strongest. Elsewhere the country
seemed full of airfields and military camps, full of British, Empire and
American military, in preparation for the second front.

There was now a new pattern in the relationship of Trevor and Isaac.
Trevor was now attending school regularly. He was avoiding Bill, Fred and
even Len. Going to school meant he was safely out of their way. He did not
learn much at school, most of his education was with Isaac. They did
arithmetic together, and he was soon learning German and French phrases.
After school he went straight home, and often spent the time reading.
Isaac fostered this interest and kept him supplied with copies of the
William books, and the Biggles books. After school on a Friday afternoon
he would go home and change into his 'Isaac clothes' and catch the bus out
to Leytonstone. He would always arrive before Isaac returned from work.
There was often a message for Trevor on the table. Trevor then would lay
the fire, and light it. If there was some washing up he would do it.
After Isaac had shown him how, he would dust and sweep. He even learnt how
to clean the bath, and scrub the kitchen! He enjoyed doing it for his man.
He also knew that the more he did the more time he would have with Isaac
talking, learning, making love and playing together.

Yes, they played together. Isaac managed to get hold of a ludo board, and
then a game of monopoly. Isaac produced a chess set, and taught Trevor how
to play that game. They also played cards. Often they played cribbage
together. Isaac had an ulterior motive in this: he knew that such games
helped Trevor's numerical dexterity.

One weekend in early March Isaac had been talking about the forests in his
homeland.

"What's a forest like?"

"Lots and lots of trees," was Isaac's definition. "Haven't you even been in
a forest?"

"No. But there were woods in Somerset, but not a forest. Are there wolves
and bears?"

"Not in this country. But there is a forest near here."

"Where?"

"Epping Forest."

"Can we go?"

"I don't see why not."

The next Sunday they went. They caught a 10A bus, and then a 145 to the
Royal Forest Hotel in Chingford. They walked past the Queen Elizabeth
Hunting Lodge, from which Queen Elizabeth I is reputed to have watched the
deer being hunted on Chingford Plain, an open area at the bottom of the
hill. They walked down to Connaught Waters, and then up to High Beech. It
was a bright sunny day, and warm for March. They were fortunate to catch
a quick glimpse of a couple of deer hurrying away. They sat down at High
Beech and looked out over north London. On the way back they rested on a
fallen log. They sat close together, and Isaac put his arm round. Trevor.
"Happy?" he asked.

"Yes. Very. I don't want today to come to an end."

Isaac bent over and kissed him on his forehead.

Trevor moved closer to Isaac. "You know what I'd like now?" asked Trevor.

"What?" expecting a request for a drink, or an unobtainable ice cream.

"I'd like you to suck my cock. Out in the open air."

"Okay then. Let's find some bushes where we can be more private."

They soon found a small clearing in some thick bushes. The ground was too
damp for them to get down on the ground, so Isaac got Trevor to lean back
against a tree trunk. He undid Trevor's short trousers and lowered them to
the boy's knees. Trevor held up his shirt so his rising cock was standing
up asking for attention.

Isaac looked down at Trevor. "I do like what I can see." He gently rubbed
his hand over Trevor's chest and stomach, before cupping his cock and balls
in his hand. "I think your cock is getting bigger, and I think you are
beginning to get some hair down here."

"Am I, really," Trevor bent over to look carefully.

Isaac's fingers stroked the small patch of down that had appeared at the
base of Trevor's penis. Then he started playing with the sheath of the
foreskin, making the head of the boy's cock appear and disappear. "I am a
lucky man to have you as a friend." He ruffled Trevor's hair and knelt
down and started kissing and licking all around Trevor's cock.

Trevor's hands gently stroked the thick black wavy hair on Isaac's head.

Isaac sucked for some time.

"When do you vink I'm going to start making spunk?"

"Soon. Within a year I should think. You're really wanting to be able to
do that, aren't you?"

"Yep. I hope I am with you when I first do it."

"I hope so too."

"Will you let me do it in your mouth?"

"If that's what you want. Let's hope it works out that way."

Isaac sucked for several more minutes. He stood up. "Do yourself up. And
let's go."

"I want to suck you."

"No save it for tonight in bed."

"No, I want to do it to you here." Trevor reached out and felt Isaac's
cock which was still in his trousers. Trevor's hand brought it to full
erection. He looked up at Isaac with his cheeky grin. "Come on! I know
you want to."

Isaac did not need much persuading. He undid his fly buttons and pulled out
his cock.

It was now Trevor's turn to kneel down. He immediately put Isaac's big cock
into his mouth. He swirled his tongue round the head. This brought an
appreciative groan from Isaac. Trevor's hands wandered round and squeezed
Isaac's buttocks. That brought a further groan.

"You certainly know how to turn me on," said Isaac.

Trevor's response to that was to give one of the buttocks a pinch.

That triggered it for Isaac. His body tensed, his cock grew even more
rigid and then jerked as several strong pulses of spunk shot into Trevor's
eager mouth.

Trevor sucked until Isaac's cock was dry, and soft in his mouth. He stood
up. "And I'll be 'ungry for some more of vat vis evening."

"This evening's load will be up your arse."

"Good, I can't wait."

They made themselves respectable, and pushed their way out of the bushes
back onto the path back to Chingford.

Easter was on April 9th that year. Trevor came across to Leytonstone and
stayed from the Thursday evening until the Tuesday morning. They went out
into Epping Forest again. On the Bank Holiday Monday Isaac took Trevor up
into the heart of London. He had been very surprised that Trevor had never
seen any of the sights. Though many places like the Tower were closed,
they went up to Trafalgar Square, and Isaac pointed out Nelson on his
column.

"Who was Nelson?"

Fortunately Isaac was widely read. When he had first arrived in England he
had visited many of the London sights, and read Trevelyan's History of
England, so he was able to answer Trevor's question. Then they had walked
up the Mall and looked at Buckingham Palace. Mention of the King and Queen
awoke one of Trevor's earliest memories of sitting on his father's shoulders
and seeing the Silver Jubilee procession for King George V. He told Isaac
about it.

That Easter was the longest time that they had had together. On the Monday
evening after a frantic session of love making in bed, they lay naked and
close together.

Isaac reached up and stroked Trevor's hair, before kissing him yet again.
"I shall miss you, Trev. This bed is going to feel cold and lonely
tomorrow. You don't know how much I've enjoyed these last few days. I love
you, Trev." He gave him another kiss.

"I don't want to go 'ome. I wish I could live 'ere for always."

"It would be good, wouldn't it. But your mother wouldn't let you do it,
I'm sure."

"She might. But would you 'ave me?"

"It takes some thinking about. It would mean you going to another school.
I would, sort of, be your father, or guardian."

"And tell me off when I do wrong."

"Yes, and give you a hit bottom."

"Spank bottom," said Trevor, this being one of the few occasions when he
supplied Isaac with the correct colloquial English. "That sounds fun."

Isaac pulled Trevor on top of him so that he was able to give Trevor bottom
a couple of light slaps. They both laughed, and they wrestled briefly.

"Do you think your Mum might say yes?"

"Yes. Shall I ask 'er?"

"Then there are things like ration books. I couldn't feed you just on my
rations." The truth was that Isaac was going to be on short commons anyway
for the next week.

They continued to talk it over. They agreed that Trevor would put the idea
to his mother, and if she was in agreement, Isaac would come over and talk
it over with her.

The thought of Isaac seeing his home filled Trevor with foreboding. Isaac's
home was clean and tidy, Trevor's home, since his father's death, was far
from clean and never tidy. His home had that smell of dirt and poverty,
far removed from the clean smells of Isaac's home.

Trevor found it surprisingly easy to broach the subject of his moving to
Leytonstone. When he got home on the Tuesday his mother was sitting down
having a cup of tea before her afternoon shift at work. It was one of the
very rare moments of intimacy between Amy Russell and her son.

"Did you have a good weekend, Trev?"

"Yea, Mum. We went to Epping Forest. Yesterday Isaac took me up to London,
and we saw Nelson's Column and Buckingham Palace where the King and Queen
live."

" 'E's good to you, vis man."

"Yea, 'e reminds me of Dad"

Amy looked up at Trevor. " 'Ow?"

"He rubs 'is 'and in my 'air like Dad did."

Amy smiled as she remembered that familiar act of affection between father
and son.

" 'E likes maps, and we look at maps together. 'E gets me to read aloud to
'im. like Dad did."

" 'E must like you, Trev, very much." She paused for a moment. "You know
Trev I do miss your Dad. I really loved 'im. 'E were a good man. I don't
know why 'e 'ad to go and get 'imself killed." Tears ran down her cheek,
and she pulled out a grubby handkerchief to wipe them away.

Trevor went across and sat on the arm of his mother's chair, and put is arm
round her.

"I 'aven't been a good muver to you, Trev. Especially since your Dad died."
More tears flowed down her cheek. Again she wiped them away. She looked
up at Trevor. "I vink you'd like to go and live wiv this Isaac. Wouldn't
you?"

"Yes, Mum."

"But then I'd never see you. Leytonstone ain't just round the corner is
it?"

"I could come and see you."

"This Isaac is doing you good I can see vat. You was beginning to run wild,
but recently you've been different. I'll 'ave to vink it over. I must
do what your Dad would've wanted. What is best for you? I ain't been a
good Mum to you."

They sat for a while in silence. An arm round each other.

"I miss Dad. Very much. But Isaac is like Dad. I know he likes me."

"He must do. He sounds a good man like your Dad."

The next weekend Trevor reported that conversation to Isaac.

"It's a hard decision for her to make. You are her only son. You must
remind her of your Dad. She loved your Dad. She must love you too, in her
way. Give her time."

It has half way through the next week that Amy Russell spoke to Trevor.
"I've thought about your living with this man, Isaac. I vink it might be
the best for you. But you will come to see me regular?"

"Yes, Mum. I feel a bit as though I 'ave two dads, but you're my only
Mum." He went and hugged his mother, and gave her a kiss.

Amy wept again. "I shall miss you, Trev. But you will come to see me?"

"Yes, Mum. I promise."

"I must see this Isaac before I definitely say yes. I need to see what sort
of man 'e is. We need to talk about you together."

"Yes Mum."

The following Friday evening Isaac was late home from work. Trevor had
prepared a meal, and done quite a lot of housework. The moment he heard
Isaac's key in the lock, he rushed out into the hall. He flung his arms
round Isaac. "I vink she's going to say, 'yes'," he shouted.

It was arranged that the next Sunday afternoon Isaac would go back to
Limehouse with Trevor.

Trevor was quite on edge as he sat on the bus back to Limehouse. So much
depended on how Isaac and his mother got on together. Trevor knew that if
his mother took a dislike to Isaac she might even try to stop them meeting
completely. He knew too, that Isaac was a Jew, and looked Jewish.. He
knew that a lot of people did not like Jews, especially foreign ones,
though Isaac only had a slight foreign accent.

Amy too had her worries about meeting with Isaac. She had done a lot more
housework than she usually did. The smell of filth was much less, but
there was the usual feeling of poverty in the house.

Trevor opened the front door, and led the way in. His mother had been
giving the room a final flick with a duster. Trevor went over and gave his
mother a kiss. This surprised her, as affection between the two of them
was rare. "Mum, vis is Isaac." She shook Isaac's hand.

"Would you like a cup of tea?"

"Yes, please Mrs Russell."

She went through into the kitchen to make some tea.

After some typical pleasantries about the weather and the war, Isaac raised
the purpose of his visit.

"Mrs Russell, would you be happy if Trevor came to live with me?"

"I don't vink I'd ever be 'appy about it. But it might be the best ving for
Trevor 'ere. I'm afraid I won't be seeing 'im any more."

"I've lost all contact with my mother and father, and I would not want him
to lose contact with you. I'll be open with you, Mrs Russell. I am a Jew.
I like to go to the synagogue every Sabbath, your Saturday. What if
Trevor comes to see you every Saturday morning, unless we make other
plans?"

Amy was impressed that he was open with her about being a Jew. A visit from
Trevor once a week sounded a good idea to her. "Can we try it for three
months, and see how it goes?"

"That could upset his schooling. But it might be a good idea." Isaac was
now feeling confident that Trevor would end up staying with him.

So it was agreed. Next Saturday afternoon Isaac would come over to
Limehouse to collect Trevor's things, and the two of them would return to
Leytonstone together.

Isaac arrived mid afternoon. He came with a couple of cases in which to put
Trevor's things. They went upstairs to do the packing. They only needed
one case. The clothes were very worn and threadbare, more fit for the rag
and bone man's barrow than anything else. Isaac realised just how deprived
was Trevor's home back ground. He wondered afresh for a moment about what
he was taking on. The last item to go in the case was the Spitfire, which
Harry had made nearly four years before.

"What's that?" asked Isaac.

"It is my Spitfire. It was made by 'Arry."

"Your special friend down in Somerset?"

"Yea. It were very precious for 'im. 'E gave it me as Dad and me was
leaving."

Isaac reached for it, and examined it. "It is precious to you as well."

"Yep. Please, can I take it?"

"Yes, Trevor. You may."

They fastened the case and went downstairs. Amy Russell handed Isaac
Trevor's ration book, and clothes coupons. "You might as well take 'is
birth certificate as well, while you're about it."

Isaac took Amy's hand. "Thank you, Mrs Russell. I will look after him. I
know I cannot replace his real Dad, but I will try to be as good a father to
him as I possibly can. I love him too. I'll make sure he comes over to see
you every week."

"I vink you're a good man. Look after 'im." Tears filled Amy's eyes.

Trevor went and gave his mother a hug and some kisses. "Vank you, Mum."

Amy stood at the door of her house and watched as Trevor and Isaac made
their way to the end of the road. The tears poured down her face. They
turned and waved to her, and then turning the corner they were gone.

Trevor was strangely silent on the bus to Leytonstone. He realised that
this was a great turning point in his life. He carried the empty case,
while Isaac carried the full one. When they arrived at Isaac's house they
went into the hall, closed the front door and switched on the light.

"Welcome home," said Isaac.

Trevor looked around. "I suppose it is my home now."

"You have already made this house a happier place. I hope you will be happy
here."

Tears came to Trevor's eyes, and he put his arms round Isaac, and they
stood hugging each other.

"I don't know about you, but I'm hungry. You light the fire, while I get
something to eat," said Isaac.

After they had eaten they went upstairs and unpacked Trevor's case. The few
clothes were put away. Trevor stood holding Harry's Spitfire. "Where can I
put this?"

"I've an idea."

Isaac disappeared downstairs, and returned with some tools and some strong
thread. "Your Spitfire needs to fly. I think we should rig it up so it is
flying over our bed. What do you think about that."

"Yea. I vink 'Arry would like that. 'E would like you, Isaac, I know it.
I vink he'd join us in your bed if he could."

"That would be fun!" Isaac kissed Trevor.

They went downstairs. That evening they played a couple of games of chess.
Then Isaac made them both a drink of cocoa, and they went up to bed.

Trevor started to undress. "It sort of feels different." He took off his
clothes and left them in an untidy heap on the floor.

Isaac looked across the bed, his shirt undone to his waist, revealing his
hairy chest. "This is no longer just my bed. It is your bed too, it is
our bed."

Trevor replied with a cheeky grin, and was soon diving under the
bedclothes. He watched as Isaac undressed. Each item of clothing was
neatly folded and placed on a chair. As the last of his socks came off,
Trevor pulled the bedclothes aside, and held out his arms to Isaac.

Isaac could see Trevor naked waiting for him. "You're a sexy young man, I
love you, Trev." He got into bed, and they snuggled up together.

"Moving 'ere seems an even bigger step that when I was evacuated down to
Somerset."

"You're older now, and understand what is involved."

They lay close together and Isaac told Trevor his plans for Monday and
Tuesday. They talked these over for a while. Then Trevor yawned.

"Sleep?" asked Isaac.

"Yes, I'm tired." Trevor turned onto his side, back towards Isaac. The
man turned onto his side facing Trevor's back. Like a couple of spoons they
lay side by side. Both were supremely happy at being together each in his
own way loving the other, and conscious of being loved. They both drifted
off to sleep.

In the morning Trevor slowly came to consciousness. He was conscious of
three things. He knew where he was. He knew his cock was stiff, and he
knew he had a full bladder. He reached across for Isaac, but that side of
the bed was empty.

At that moment Isaac came into the room, carrying a tray with a pot of tea,
some milk in a jug, two cups, and also a couple of plates with some toast
and margarine.

"I thought we might need some sustenance."

"I need a piss, first." Trevor got out of bed, and Isaac was treated to
a view of Trevor's backside as he ran along the landing before turning and
disappearing down the stairs. He was soon back, breathing hard, and
joined Isaac in bed. They sat in bed side by side, and ate their toast and
both drank a couple of cups of tea. Isaac had removed the blackout
curtains, and the early summer sunshine poured into the room.

"What do you want to do today, Trevor?"

"To start with, what we usually do." His hand came across and felt inside
Isaac's warm crotch, and got hold of the hardening cock.

"It is a good thing that we both agree in wanting the same thing."

Trevor gave Isaac a quick peck of a kiss, and popped out of bed. Isaac
watched as Trevor prepared himself, and then he put the usual cream on
Isaac's cock. He pushed Isaac onto his back, and sat astride him. He
positioned himself, and holding Isaac's cock in place, lowered himself
onto the man's large rampant cock. When Isaac was deep inside him Trevor
sighed and grinned at Isaac. "That feels good."

"It feels good to me too. My cock has two favourite places, it doesn't
know which it likes best."

"Up my arse, and in my gob?"

"You've got it right, young man."

Trevor lent forward and kissed Isaac.

"I wonder how many times we have kissed."

"Not enough," said Trevor giving him another one.

"Now we are completely together we can give each other even more."

Trevor moved around slightly so that he could feel to the fullness Isaac's
cock inside him.

Isaac's hands gently rubbed Trevor's thighs, and played with his stiff cock
and his balls.

"Love you, Trev!"

"Love you too."

Gradually Trevor increased his movements. All the time he watched Isaac's
face. He saw the climax approaching and continued.

Isaac's head turned from side to side. With great gasps of breath he cried
out, "Trev! Trev!" He thrust his hips up so that his cock went even
further into the boy. With a great cry he came to his climax, and he felt
the great jets of spunk pour out through the slit of his cock deep into his
young lover.

Trevor stayed in position as he always enjoyed feeling the contraction of
Isaac's penis, from a long stiff pole to a small shrivelled sausage. He
squeezed his muscles and the flaccid cock popped out. He came and lay at
Isaac's side with his head on the man's shoulder, and one leg between
Isaac's legs.

Isaac stroked Trevor's buttocks. "When you start making spunk think of
what else we will be able to do."

"Will you let me goose you?"

"Yes, I'll let you goose me. I look forward to it, if that's what you
want. Another cup of tea?"

"I'll get it this time," said Trevor. He got out of bed, and stark naked
disappeared with the tray. After about ten minutes he returned with a fresh
pot of tea, and some more toast and margarine.

They talked together for another couple of hours, interspersed with bouts
of physical affection. They spent the rest of the day talking, eating and
playing chess and crib.

Isaac took the next two days off work as part of his holiday days. In the
those two days Trevor was kitted out with some new clothes, including his
first pair of long trousers. Isaac had found out which school he was to go
to. They both went along on the Tuesday morning and they met the head
teacher. She was a formidable lady called Miss Stockmire. Trevor stayed on
at the school for the rest of the day.

Isaac also took him round to next door to introduce him to their neighbours,
Mr and Mrs Stevens. Mrs Stevens was a woman in her fifties. Her husband
worked on Liverpool Street Station. They had two sons, one of whom had been
taken a prisoner of war by the Germans at Dunkirk, the other one had been
called up a few months before and was expected to be involved in the second
front. Isaac explained that Trevor was a friend of his, and his father had
been killed in the blitz, and his mother was unable to look after him
properly. They talked about the cost and coupons involved in kitting out
Trevor for his new school. Mrs Stevens said she still had some clothes
belonging to her younger son that might fit Trevor, and that she would look
them out. She also told Trevor to pop round if he was feeling lonely or
wanted help in any way.

Thus a pattern of life began to be formed. Isaac left for work before
Trevor needed to leave for school. Isaac took the LNER train up to
Liverpool Street Station. Trevor went off to school. He stayed for lunch,
and got home well before Isaac. He never knew when Isaac would get home,
but he always had a meal ready for him. Sometimes he did a little
housework, but often he spent the time reading. Isaac, who was widely
read, introduced him to a number of classics. One of the earliest ones was
Charles Dickens' David Copperfield. "You'll like this story. What happens
to young David is similar to what has happened to you."

Trevor read it, and, much to Isaac's amusement, for a few days called
Isaac 'Betsy.' or 'Miss Trotwood.'

About once every ten days Trevor called in on Mr and Mrs Stevens. He
discovered that Mr Stevens liked a game of crib, so they often played the
best of three or the best of five.

Every Saturday morning Isaac went off to the synagogue. It was an important
time for him as he was becoming increasingly concerned about the fate of his
relatives in Austria. At the same time Trevor kept his promise and went
back to Limehouse to visit his mother. He usually stayed with her for an
hour or two. Something good began to happen in their relationship. Trevor
was growing older, and his mother kept that hour or so every Saturday
morning for Trevor, so they began to talk.

There were the usual mundane enquiries as to how each was getting on. Amy
Russell at first kept on about her being a bad Mum, and wept a few tears.
But after a few weeks that phase passed. She began to talk about her
husband. Isaac suggested that he tried to find out more about his father,
whom he had loved so much, and missed so greatly. So Trevor asked
questions and Amy was only to ready to reply. She told her son how she had
met Frank - they had been childhood sweethearts and had gone to the same
school. She told him about saving up to get married. It had been a simple
service in the local church, with no honeymoon. There were the very hard
days when dock work was hard to come by. She had helped to get some money
by doing a cleaning job in a local office, and she had had to give that up
for while when Trevor was born. When he had been weaned she had gone back
to work, leaving Trevor with Mrs Cussins next door. She told him about the
lead-up to the war, and the painful separation when Trevor was evacuated
down to Somerset. They shared their memories of the blitz, and wept
together as they remembered Frank's death. Amy poured out her heart to
Trevor as she spoke about what she felt in those weeks after Frank's death.
She spoke of her needs, and of the various uncles. They even spoke about
Fred.

All this was not covered on one Saturday morning. Little by little over the
next eighteen months the past was revealed and talked over. Some of it
Trevor as a twelve year old did not understand, and it was only later when
he was much older that he fully understood his mother. But those Saturday
mornings brought them closer together and Trevor began to love his mother
in a way he had never done before.

For Amy those Saturday morning were bittersweet times. They were bitter
because they often recalled times past with Frank. She was conscious of
her failures as a mother. She also saw that Trevor was changing. The
dominant influence in his life was now Isaac. Trevor's conversation was
littered with 'Isaac says this' and 'Isaac says that'. The life opening up
to Trevor was very different from that of her limited Limehouse horizons.
But it was also sweet because she was closer to Trevor than she had ever
been.

When the time came for Trevor to return to Leytonstone there was always an
exchange of kisses and hugs, and that meant a great deal to both of them.

The early summer of 1944 was tense time in the war. How, when, and where was
this long awaited second front going to be opened.

One day Isaac and Trevor were looking at a map of Western Europe.

"Where do you think we'll attack?" asked Isaac.

"I dunno," replied Trevor.

"Think where it might be."

"I think we'll attack here," he said, pointing at the north east tip of
France.

"Why there?"

"Shortest way across."

"Where do you think Hitler will be expecting us?"

"There."

"So is that a good place to go?"

"May be not. But we would be able to give most air cover there."

"Good! That's true."

Isaac was encouraging Trevor to think. But Isaac was a Jew and he liked
nothing better than a good discussion, or debate, or even argument. He
wanted to get Trevor to argue with him. It took a little while for Trevor
to cotton on, but he did eventually. The language lessons continued.
With help from Isaac Trevor began to read some simple German and French
books. Often they would spend a whole evening speaking only French or
German. Trevor picked it up easily and regarded it as something of a game.

Isaac was the first to wake on Sunday 4th June. He slipped out bed and went
downstairs. When he returned with the tea tray and some toast and marmalade
Trevor was still fast asleep. Isaac stood for several minutes looking down
at him. The dark mop of untidy hair lay on the pillow. The boy stirred and
opened his eyes. He grinned at Isaac.

Isaac took off his dressing gown and slipped into bed. "Happy birthday,
Trevor."

"Cor. I forgot it's my birthday today."

Isaac handed Trevor a birthday card. They sat up in bed drinking their tea
and eating their toast. Then Isaac reached under the bed and pulled out a
brown paper parcel. "Birthday present."

Trevor tore open the paper. Inside were two books. Both were by C.S.Lewis -
Out of the Silent Planet and Voyage to Venus.

"Someone at work recommended them to me, said he thought you'd like them."

Trevor gave Isaac a hug and a kiss. "Thanks, Isaac. I don't know when I
last had a birthday present."

Isaac ruffled his hair. "I hope you enjoy them. Can I read them after
you?"

"Of course you can."

"Now I want to say thanks properly." Trevor plunged down under the bed
clothes. He grabbed and held Isaac's cock. Then as it hardened Isaac felt
Trevor's tongue and lips upon it. Isaac pulled off the bedclothes so that
he could watch what was being done to him. Trevor knew just what to do.
Soon they were both making appreciative noises. Isaac liked what was being
done to him, and Trevor enjoyed the taste of Isaac's preseminal fluid.

This was not long and lingering love making. Trevor used all his skills to
bring Isaac to a quick climax. Soon both were feeling the approaching
climax. Afterwards they both collapsed with sounds of contentment. Trevor
was in Isaac's arms.

Later that day Mrs Steven brought round a small birthday present. She also
brought round a birthday cake. It was a fatless sponge cake, and she had
managed to find twelve cake candles to put on it.

"I managed to find these. I know they don't all match. Must have been
left over from when I made birthday cakes for my boys."

It was a memorable day for Trevor.

Tuesday began as normal. As always Trevor stayed for school dinner. After
the meal those who had stayed at school had about half an hour in the
playground. The boys were running around, letting off steam yelling and
shouting as children in a school playground always do.

Then one of the boys who went home for his dinner, John Castle by name,
came rushing into the school playground shouting. "The invasion's begun.
We've landed in France this morning." He could add little to that basic
information.

When Trevor got home later that afternoon he switched on the radio, and
listened to the various news bulletins. He got out Isaac's big atlas and
opened it at the map of France, and found Normandy and the towns of Caen
and Bayeux that had been mentioned in the news bulletins.

When Isaac returned home with a copy of the Evening News there was more
excited talk and discussion.

Exactly one week later Hitler's reprisals began. The first of the
doodlebugs arrived.

Footnote:-
The incident of John Castle rushing on to the playground with the news of
the second front is 100% autobiographical, except that for me it happened
elsewhere.

And apologies for a slight error in the colloquial German in the last
chapter. It was my typing error, and not Charles' fault.
