Cowboy Brother

I was 12 years old when this story began. My name is Mike and I have an
older brother by 15 years named Josh who was a ranch hand in Texas. I have
never met him but spoke to him on the phone often. I was what my father
called a "change of life" baby. Unfortunately, my mother died giving birth
to me so I never got a chance to know her.

I was an unusual boy growing up. I had long blond hair and
cobalt blue eyes. I was slender with smooth skin and to my disdain a large
ass. I catch people staring at my ass which makes me self-conscience and
uncomfortable. I looked more like a girl than a boy.

At a very young age it was apparent that I had an affinity
for gymnastics, dance, and music. I loved to dance and move to anything with
a rhythm. I always felt different, like I didn't fit in. It was my dad who
helped me find my place and understand why I never felt like I belonged.

I came home from school one day in tears because the other
boys in my class were pushing me around and slapping my ass calling me
faggot. I was only 12 at the time so I didn't know what I had done wrong.
Dad caught the jest of the problem and asked me a simple question. "Is there
anyone in school you fancy?"

I didn't know what that had to do with the other boys
picking on me but I told him about a boy I thought was cute. To me it didn't
seem strange, a lot of the other boys were starting to like girls but I
liked boys. I didn't know there was anything wrong with that.

Dad sat me down and explained how special I was but he told
me why the other boys were being mean to me. He explained that I was
perfectly normal but that some people had trouble understanding anything
different. As my dad was known to do, he never sugar coated the truth. Dad
explained some of the hardships I would face in my life but he made sure to
emphasize that I was loved no matter what.

Dad and I were on our way home from my gymnastics
competition and he was so excited that I came in first place. Dad was
laughing and smiling when suddenly an 18 wheeler hit us head on. In an
instant my life had changed. Dad was killed instantly and I was trapped
unconscious in the car. There was nothing but darkness and in my heart I
knew he was gone.

I woke 2 days later in the hospital. My senses were slow to
return. The first thing I remembered was the scent of leather and man. My
eyes took longer to open but when they did I was greeted with the sight of a
stranger asleep in the too small chair in the hospital room. The man was a
giant. He had to be at least 6'5" and 200 lbs of pure muscle.

The man was built like a God with broad shoulders, narrow
waist, and a rather impressive package in his soft, well-worn jeans. He also
sported a 5 o'clock shadow that probably started somewhere around 9 A.M. I
couldn't help but to stare at him while I thought about all I had lost.
Unfortunatly, I needed answers and I hated to disturb his peaceful sleep but
I gathered my courage and spoke.

"Hello?"

The well-built God's eyes opened abruptly and he sprang from
his chair startling me for a moment. The man rushed to me and wrapped his
arms around me. He spoke with a deep rumbling voice that I could feel deep
down to my soul. I knew that voice. Though I have never laid eyes on him, I
knew I hadn't lost everything. Josh was here and he would make it better.

"Mike! I am so glad you are alright! I was so worried about you. They told
me about dad. I am so sorry Mike. I am here now so don't feel like you are
alone. You weren't hurt too badly so the Doctor said you can go home
tomorrow morning. I know it is a lot to take in but there are a lot of
things we need to discuss and a lot of decisions to be made."

"Josh, I'm glad you are here. I don't know what I am going to do. What will
happen to me now? I just feel so lost and don't know what to do."

"Don't worry about anything right now. Just get better for me and we will
take things one step at a time. As for what will happen to you now; well,
you will come stay with me and I will take care of you. I know I am not dad
but I will do the best I can to make us a family. I know we have never met
face to face, but I love you Mike. I wasn't there for you growing up but
talking to you on the phone all those years I know you and you know me so I
want you to feel comfortable with me. We will take care of the rest later."
