The Doctor Gets a Visitor
Chapter 9 -- The Makeover

"Aunt Cora I think your rooms are the two with the doors closed.
Mrs. T. said during our tour that you all had a rule that you never go into
a room with a closed without knocking and being invited in. Would you like
me to put your suitcase outside your door?" Jeff asked.

"If you would honey, please put it on my bed so it is easier for me to
unpack."

"You got it Aunt Cora. Mrs. Tillison, where should Drew put his things?"

"Why don't you put his things in the room two doors down from Cora's since
the room adjacent to Cora's has furniture that I and sending to your Dad's
house."

"Let's go Drew." Jeff said as they each picked up a suitcase and climbed
the stairs. "Let's put Aunt Cora's suitcase in her room first."

They went into the first closed door and it was a sitting room which was
beautifully decorated with a large television. It felt warm and inviting.
Drew just stood there and looked around in amazement. "Come on Drew, close
the door and we'll put Aunt Cora's suitcase on her bed and go out the other
door."

They went into the bedroom and again it was immaculate but Drew looked
around and all of a sudden he started to sob. "Drew what's wrong?" Jeff
asked.

"Do you see that picture? That's my mother and me." he said through his
sobs. Jeff went to him and hugged him close and said, "Drew everything is
going to be okay now."

"Okay man; let's get your things put away."

They went into the room that was to be Drew's and it looked great for a
guy. Drew walked around and looked in the drawers. He opened the doors
and when he discovered what was behind one of the doors, he got really
excited, "Jeff, look at this. There is a bathroom with a separate shower
and tub."

Jeff went and looked, "Wow."

Drew realized there was a door leading to an adjacent room and he started
to look a little down.

Jeff noticed, "I guess you're lucky that no one is going to be living in
that room. Mrs. T. is giving Dad and me the furniture in that room for our
house this week."

"Drew, let's see what you have in your suitcase."

Drew slowly opened his suitcase and pulled out some very old worn clothes.
Jeff looked at Drew, "Let's just throw everything away."

"No!" cried Drew as he rummaged through the clothes and pulled out a
picture of a lady. "I want this picture of my Mother. It's all I have
left of her."

The two guys came down the stairs and took the suitcase and its contents
and put it in the garage.

They returned to the living room and Jeff asked, "Dad, which car did you
drive over here in?"

"I brought your car since it was already out."

"Drew and I need to run over to our house to get a couple of things. We
will return in approximately thirty minutes."

Jeff got into his Thunderbird. Drew just stood there with his mouth open.
Finally Jeff said, "Get in man, it's too cold to be standing there
gawking."

Drew crawled in and started to rub his hand over the upholstery and the
dash board.

"Drew, I think you are forgetting something." Jeff said.

"What?" asked Drew as he looked around and then he realized and said, "Oh."
and buckled his seat belt.

"This looks like it's brand new." Drew said.

"It is. I've only had it for two months. It only has 1200 miles on it."

"Your Dad must be rich." Drew observed.

"Oh my Dad didn't give me this car. My step father and mother gave it to
me for 18th birthday and for my graduation from high school gift. My Dad
didn't even know I existed until Christmas Eve Day."

Drew looked at Jeff, "I'm totally confused now."

"I'll explain later." he said as he pulled into the driveway and pushed the
button for the garage door.

They went into the house and Jeff took Drew directly to our bedroom.
"Drew, I want you to take off those dirty clothes and take a shower while I
try to find you to find a couple of outfits for you. Just put your clothes
on a pile and we will get rid of them after you're done. Everything you
need should be in the bathroom. When you get out, I will have some clothes
for you to choose from."

Drew went into the bathroom and started the shower. He came out 10 minutes
later drying his hair. He had a towel wrapped around his waist. "Okay
what do I put on?" he asked.

"Do you prefer briefs or boxer type shorts?"

"I haven't worn briefs since I started Junior High. They aren't cool."

"Oh really?" Jeff said as he undid his belt, dropped his fly and pulled his
slacks down and showed Drew his bikini briefs. "I wear these because they
make it harder for people to tell when I am excited. I have boxers too
that I wear when I don't really care what happens because I like the
freedom they offer." With that he pulled his slacks up and got presentable
again.

"Now, Drew, which would you prefer?"

"I guess I would like a pair of briefs." Drew mumbled.

"Okay, here is a pair of red ones. Put them on."

"Here?" asked Drew.

"Unless you want to go out in the middle of the street, I guess it will
have to be here."

Drew quickly dropped his towel and pulled on the briefs. When he had them
on, he stood and asked, "What do you think?"

"Turn around and I'll decide."

Drew turned around and Jeff said, "Not bad for a punk. They definitely
suit you. Now put this on."

"I don't wear undershirts." Drew said defensively.

"Starting now you do." Jeff answered as he handed Drew a blue dress shirt.
Drew put it on and buttoned the front but he didn't button the collar
buttons so Jeff buttoned them for him after he handed Drew a pair of khaki
slacks and a belt.

Drew pulled them on as well as a pair of dark socks. Jeff gave him a pair
of shoes. Drew put them on and said, "I can't wear these are too big."
Jeff went back to the closet and came back with a pair of dress loafers.
Drew tried them on and they fit perfectly.

"Whose shoes are these?" asked Drew.

"They were my Dad's but now they're yours."

"Wait a minute. You and your Dad both sleep in this room together? Are
you queer or something?" Drew backed away.

"Drew, look at me. I've known I was gay for four years. I came here to
live with my father and hopefully have a relationship with him and I mean
more than just father and son. Believe me; I will never try to do anything
with you or any of my acquaintances."

"Here is a pair of jeans and a sweat shirt, a warm up suit some briefs and
boxers, tee shirts, socks and a pair of running shoes and one more dress
outfit and a sweater. What else do you need? I'll get you a tooth brush
and a tooth paste? I'll put everything in a suitcase while you gather your
old things and take them into the garage and put them in the trash barrel."

As they started to leave, Jeff tossed Drew a nice winter jacket and said,
"Wear this and leave your old one."

They went to the car and Drew put his suitcase in the trunk. On the way
back to Mrs. T.'s house, Drew was very quiet. Out of the clear, he asked,
"How did you know you were gay?"

"I realized that I was gay when I was fourteen. I just knew. I didn't
want to be gay and I would cry myself to sleep every night. Finally one
night, my stepfather came in and asked me why I was crying. I told him
that I thought I was gay even though I didn't want to be. He assured me
that it was okay. He said me that he and my mother suspected as much. He
also told me not to worry about it and that we would talk about it the next
day. Needless to say I was relieved and slept like a baby for the first
time in a long time."

Drew started to sob again, "I thought I was gay until that s. o. b. hurt me
so bad."

They pulled up to the Tillison house. Jeff stopped the car and turned to
Drew, "I want to hear the entire story but we have already been gone longer
that we planned. Here, take the keys and get your things and I'll go into
the house while you get yourself together."

Jeff came into the house and announced, "We're back. Drew will be in as
soon as he gets his things out of the car. Now what would you like for
dessert?"

Aunt Cora said, "Honey if I have anything else to eat I won't be able to
sleep tonight. But a nice cup of hot chocolate would be nice."

"How about you Mrs. T.?" Jeff asked.

"I'd rather have a Brandy Alexander, if I might." she answered.

"Dad, how about you? A nice glass of cold water right?"

Drew was standing there laughing. "Dr. Wilson, I think you better have a
double Bandy Alexander. I have the feeling you are going to need it."

Jeff walked over to Drew and said, "Ladies and Dad, I would like to
introduce Mr. Drew Washington. Doesn't he look like he should be on the
Academy Award show?"

"Nah." said Mrs. T. "How about Stud of the Day instead?"

Everyone laughed.

"Okay, I'll have one of everything even one of those Alexander things."
said Drew.

"I'll tell you what Drew. You take your clothes to your room and put them
away and then you come down and help Aunt Cora upstairs while I fix
everyone's bedtime snacks."

Jeff departed for the kitchen and Drew dashed up the stairs and came down
shortly.

"Aunt Cora, do you want me to help you go upstairs?"

"No honey. You go help Jeff and then you can bring my hot chocolate to me."

Jeff and Drew were in the kitchen. Drew came out with a tray with a
steaming cup of hot chocolate heaped with marshmallows and a plate of
graham crackers took it upstairs.

Jeff came in carrying two Brandy Alexanders with real whipped cream and
said, "I have to go finish Drew's snack."

Drew came down the stairs with tears in his eyes and called out, "Jeff,
Aunt Cora wants to talk to you."

"Okay, I'll bring your dessert in and you can visit with Dad and
Mrs. T. while I say good night to Aunt Cora." Jeff came in with a tray with
a cup of hot chocolate and a piece of apple pie with ice cream. "Here you
go sir. Make sure you put your dishes in the dish washer when you finish
and then it is ready to start."

With that Jeff quickly went up the stairs and knocked on Aunt Cora's door.

After she answered and he went in, she asked, "Jeff could you please come
and sit beside me?"

Jeff did as he was requested and she began. "Thank you for bringing the
real Andrew back tonight. I don't know what you did but I have the feeling
that you were tough but not too mean. Andrew was a young man with so much
promise when his mother was alive."

She started to cry but continued, "I wanted to bring him here after his
mother's death but her brother insisted that he was the closest kin and
that I was too old therefore he should be the guardian. I really think he
thought he was going to get the money that he assumed his sister had.
Little did he realize that Andrew's mother spent everything she made to
make sure that Drew had a good life. I even paid for her funeral expenses
which no one knows except Aggie and now you. Please do not tell Andrew."

"After Andrew moved in with that creep and his wife, he changed. He seemed
to withdraw from everyone and seemed like he hated the world. I don't know
what happened but I think it must have been pretty bad." she sighed.

"Aunt Cora, I think there is something that you need to know. I think that
Drew was raped. This is something I will try to help him cope with even if
I don't know how."

"That bastard." she said and then she realized what she had said. "Jeff,
I'm sorry but I was afraid that something like that might have happened.
Promise me you will help Drew realize it was not fault." Aunt Cora pleaded.

"I promise Aunt Cora."

"Now would you ask your Dad and Aggie to come up please? I would like to
talk with them."

Jeff leaned over and gave her a big hug and kiss, "Aunt Cora, your hot
chocolate is getting cold. I'll tell them to come up. Good night. I
promise to do my best for Drew."

"I know you will honey. I really think that you put something in this hot
chocolate to make me sleep until noon. It is so good and I won't let one
drop go to waste."

Jeff came down the stairs and we were laughing. "What so funny?" he asked.

"You." answered Drew.

"What did I do? I was talking to Aunt Cora. Oh yeah Mrs. T., Aunt Cora
would like to you and Dad to visit her in her room."

"We're on our way." laughed Mrs. T. "Now you be nice to this cute kid
here, you hear?" With that we left leaving the two teenagers alone.

Jeff and Drew just relaxed and found out that they both liked baseball.
Drew was excited to find out that Jeff had been the all state first baseman
last year. Drew said, "All I want is to be half as good as Bob Gibson was
as a pitcher."

When Mrs. T and I came down the stairs, I said, "Jeff we really need to
go. I have a feeling that tomorrow is going to be a very busy day."

"Okay Dad, let me help Drew get the dishwasher started."

The guys put the rest of the dishes in and started the dishwasher.

"Dad, let's go but I need to give Mrs. T. a kiss first." Jeff went
Mrs. T. and hugged her and gave her a kiss. Then he went to Drew and
hugged him.

"Goodnight everyone see you soon."

Drew wondered, what has happened?
