CHAPTER ELEVEN

Tracy was doing a load of laundry Monday morning when he was struck
with an idea. After one of the talks he'd had with his dad over the
weekend, he had made up his mind to encourage Pete and Harland to become
friends once more.
When the last load was in the dryer, Tracy gave Harland Lewis a
call. He was beginning to think the man wasn't home when Harland suddenly
picked up the phone.
"Hi, Harland," he greeted the man.
"Hey, Tracy. What's on your mind?"
Tracy asked if he might drive out to Harland's place, adding, "I'd
like to talk some things over with you."
Harland told him to come on out.
"I've got some things to finish up here," Tracy said. "I'll be
there within the hour."
Tracy finished straightening the house, took care of the clothes in
the dryer, and found himself pulling up in front of Harland's house exactly
one hour after his telephone call to the man.
As Tracy stepped up on the porch, the door suddenly opened. Harland
pushed the screen door back and greeted the boy with a grin.
"Hey, Tracy. It's good to see you." He stood back to give Tracy
space to enter his house.
Without giving any thought to what he was doing, Tracy hugged the
older man to him.
"Thanks for seeing me," Tracy said as he stepped back.
"Have a seat, Son. Would you like something to drink? Coke? Water?
Beer?"
"You and your early morning beer," Tracy said giving the man a
smile.
"I didn't say I was going to drink one. I just asked if you wanted
one," Harland said.
"I'd take a Coke," Tracy decided.
When Harland returned with a soft drink, he handed it to
Tracy. "Now, what's on your mind, Tracy?"
"I have something I want to run by you, Harland. If that's all
right?"
"Of course," Harland assured him with a nod.
"First of all, I wanted to let you know that Dad and I had one hell
of a weekend."
A big smile appeared on Harland's face. "I'm listening."
"The short version is this: we spent most of the weekend
together. In bed, I might add."
"Did you, now? I'm glad. I feel pretty sure Pete's missed that part
of his life. Would I be assuming too much if I thought that? "
"That's what I want to talk with you about," Tracy said to the man.
Harland leaned back in his chair. "I'm listening," he said.
Tracy leaned forward on the sofa. Now that he was sitting in front
of Harland, he found it difficult getting the words out. He stared down at
the floor for a time. Finally he looked across the room at Harland.
"Harland, Dad misses you; misses your friendship."
"Does he now?" A look appeared in the man's eyes, one that Tracy
couldn't quite make out.
"He does, Harland. Your name came up several times over the
weekend."
"That can't be good," Harland decided.
"Oh, but it was. Is," Tracy corrected himself.
"If you will remember, I told you, Tracy, that it was your dad who
walked away. He was the one who ended our friendship."
"I know," Tracy agreed. "Dad told me the same thing. You see,
Harland, that's it in a nut shell. He's ashamed of what he did to you. He
told me that at the time, he felt he owed it to my mother. In his mind he
thought he would be cheating on her if he did anything with you sexually."
"I tried to tell Pete we could remain friends, forget about the
sex. He thought that was a bad idea." Harland's words had turned bitter.
"Harland, Dad told me the two of you had been more than friends for
over eleven years. Tell me, do you honestly think that either of you would
have been satisfied with friendship only?"
"I think we could have. I know I would have been happy with that
sort of arrangement."
"Perhaps. Perhaps not. Hell, Harland, why stew and fret about
something that happened twenty-five years ago? Haven't you guys wasted
enough time?"
"I'm just not sure it would be a good idea," Harland said
thoughtfully. "Too much water under the bridge."
"I only have one more thing to say, Harland. After that, it's up to
you. You and Dad, and what the two of you decide. Dad loved you. In fact,
he still does. Yes, he hurt you. I have to say this about the man. He's my
father, and I love him. And he honestly thought he had to break things off
because of my mother. I told him that while I didn't think he necessarily
made the right decision, it was his decision, and I respected him for
it. Now the thing to decide is whether or not the two of you had something
in the past that's worth a little effort to regain in the present and take
to the future."
Tracy stood to his feet. "Now that I've dropped all of this heavy
shit on you I should be going."
"Tracy, please don't go. I could use the company."
Tracy returned to the sofa. "I've given you a lot to think
over. You're going to need time to process it all."
"I know. Are you being honest with me, Son? Do you really think
your dad still has feelings for me?"
"There's no thinking about it, Harland. Dad admitted to me over the
weekend that he had grown to care for you a lot. He was in love with you
when he met my mom. He told me he thought my grandpa had begun to suspect
something was going on between the two of you. He said that back when the
two of you were my age, things were very different than now."
"Pete thought his dad knew what the two of us were doing?" Harland
asked the question and shook his head.
"That's what he said. He thought he had a choice to make. Either
marry my mother or tell his parents how he felt about you. I'm sorry,
Harland, that you were the one hurt. I truly am. Please, can you find it in
your heart to forgive my dad?"
"Tell me something, Tracy. Would things be any different now? Pete
is still Pete. I am still me. We still live in the same small rural area
where people have always known us and our families. Besides all that,
you're now in the mix as well. Would you want your dad and me sharing a
life together? Providing it would even be possible for that to happen?"
"Harland, let's take one thing at a time. I think if you and Dad
set things straight between the two of you, a lot of this other shit will
take care of itself."
	"Are you twenty years old?"
"I told you that the first time we met," Tracy reminded.
"It's hard to believe. I didn't think twenty- year- olds had it
together the way you do. I know your dad and I didn't at that age."
"Harland, if Dad's okay with it, would you be willing to come over
one night this week for supper?"
"I'm not sure that would be a good idea, Tracy."
	"Why the hell not?"
"I'm not sure Pete would agree."
Tracy sat on the edge of the sofa. "Is it Dad or you that might not
be okay with it? Be honest with me, Harland."
Harland stood to his feet. "Talk it over with Pete. If he's
comfortable with me coming for supper, then I'll show up."
Tracy stood up as well. "Consider it done. I'll talk it over with
Dad this evening. We'll go from there. Just remember this, Harland. You've
both been hurt. You've had a lot of years to keep it buried inside. Give it
some time. Please?"
Harland walked across the floor and pulled Tracy into a hug. When
he stepped back, he said, "I still find it hard to believe that you have so
much common sense. By the way, you do realize that if your dad and I strike
up any kind of relationship that you're likely to be in the middle of
things?"
"Let's get things settled between you and Dad first. That's the
most important thing. We'll look at our other options after that." Tracy
kissed Harland on the mouth.
"Do you have to go?" Harland asked. "Can't you stay here and
console me some?"
"I'd like that very much, Harland. However, I think I've given you
quite enough to think about for now. Besides, I need to be getting home. I
want to think about what I say to Dad this evening. Next time, okay?"
When they reached the door, Harland gave the boy another kiss. "I'm
looking forward to your next visit."
Tracy started walking toward his Jeep. About half way there,
Harland called out his name. He turned back around and faced the man.
"Thank you, Son." Harland gave him a gentle smile.
	"For what?"
"For everything." Harland gave him a wave.
"I just want the two of you to be happy. I love Dad very much. And
I think I'm beginning to love you as well. There's nothing I wouldn't do
for either of you."
Tracy climbed into the Jeep and gave the man one last wave. "I'll
be in touch," he said and started the Jeep's engine.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Tracy surprised his dad by having their evening meal ready when
Pete arrived home from work. He greeted the man with a warm smile.
	"Everything's ready, Dad."
"Johnny on the spot, aren't you? I think I'll keep you on the
payroll. You keep this up, you're going to spoil me."
"That's my intention. Have a seat."
Pete told his son he was becoming a damn good cook. He sat down at
the table and watched Tracy take the chair across the table from him. As
they enjoyed the food Tracy had prepared, Pete filled his son in on his
work day.
When his dad and finished describing his day, he asked about his
son's day. "What did you do?"
"Laundry for one thing. There are always dirty clothes around
here."
"I do appreciate everything you do, Trace," Pete assured his son.
"I know you do, Dad. I'm glad I can help you out."
Tracy soon pushed his plate to the side. "Dad, I'd like to discuss
something with you."
	"I'm listening."
"I want you to hear me out, okay? Let me finish before you start
objecting."
Pete's face held a curious look. He remained silent and waited for
Tracy to speak whatever was on his mind.
"Would you be okay with me inviting Harland over some evening for
supper?"
"Harland? For supper? I'm not sure what you're getting at, Trace."
Pete also pushed his plate away and looked intently across the table at his
son.
"I really like the man. I'd like to be friends with him."
"Did he put this idea in your head, Trace?"
"No, Dad. It was my idea."
"Why are you jumping into the middle of something that's not any of
your business?" Pete pushed his chair away from the table.
"Please, Dad, just hear me out. I don't want you upset with
Harland. He had nothing to do with this."
"Why is this even up for discussion? This is all water under the
bridge. Years ago, I might add."
"Dad, I'm not asking you to have sex with the man. All I want is
for the two of you to settle things between you."
Pete stood to his feet. "The way I see it, we did settle
things. Twenty-five years ago. I'm going to take my shower."
Tracy watched his dad walk down the hall. His talk with Pete had
certainly not gone the way he had intended for it to. It had sounded like a
good idea to him at the time.
He got up and began clearing the table. When the kitchen was
restored to order and the dishes in the dishwasher, Tracy went in search of
his father. He found the bathroom empty and headed for Pete's
bedroom. Finding the door closed, Tracy knocked lightly.
	"Dad, may I come in?"
Pete called out for his son to open the door.
When Tracy stepped into the room, he found Pete lying on his
bed. He walked over and sat on the side next to him.
"Sorry I fucked up, Dad," Tracy apologized.
Pete moved over to give his son more room. He smiled at the boy.
"You didn't fuck up, Trace. You have nothing to apologize for."
Tracy lay next to Pete. "You are absolutely right. Whatever took
place between you and Harland is none of my business."
"As I said earlier, Harland and I happened a long time ago. That
chapter of my life, as well as Harland's, is closed."
"If you will allow me to ask you just one more question, you have
my word I'll not bring it up again."
"Sounds reasonable enough. Go on," Pete said.
"Would it ever be possible that you and Harland could be friends?
Nothing more. Just friends."
Pete shook his head. "I'm not sure, Trace. I will admit, I have
missed his friendship."
	"Let me ask you this."
"Hey, I thought you said there would be no more questions," Pete
reminded his son.
"So I lied. I swear, this is the last one."
"Okay. I'm going to hold you to your promise."
"If Harland would be willing to come over for a meal, knowing that
nothing except friendship could be expected, would that be okay with you?"
Pete didn't give his son an answer right away. Tracy could tell his
dad had a lot running across his mind. Finally he looked at Tracy and said,
"Okay, call and invite him over for supper one night this week. Make sure
he knows not to expect anything to happen between us."
Tracy smiled at his dad. "I can do that," he said. He gave his dad
a kiss. "How about us? Can I expect something to happen between us?
Tonight?"
Pete reached inside his son's shorts and went for Tracy's cock. The
boy was already hard.
"What do you think?" Pete asked his son.
"I think we both are overdressed," Tracy whispered.
"Then I think we should do something to remedy that problem."
It only took seconds for the two men to become naked in each
other's arms. Clothes flew across the room and landed on the floor.
"Have I told you how much I love your hairy body?" Tracy asked his
father.
	"Not recently," Pete whispered.
"I love it." Tracy ran his fingers through his dad's chest hair. "I
love the way it tickles my skin."
"I love having you touch me," Pete groaned.
Tracy reached for his dad's dick. He was hard as well. "I can tell
how much you like it, Dad. You're nice and hard."
Tracy gave his dad another kiss and moved so that his head was at
Pete's feet. He reached for the man's dick and began licking the shaft. The
movement caused his dad to moan.
"You do give good head," Pete praised. He went down on his son,
taking the boy's dick until it was rubbing the back of his throat. He began
returning the favor.
For a while no words were spoken between them. The only sounds
heard in the room were each other moaning their pleasure. Tracy attacked
his dad's cock hungrily, enjoying not only the taste, but the sweet smell
brought only by a recent shower coming from the man's body. Each time his
nose hit Pete's pubes, Tracy breathed as deeply as he could, managing to
keep the man's cock inside his mouth.
Tracy was on the brink of shooting his load when he felt his dad
touch his asshole with a finger. Pete began teasing his son's hole, adding
pleasure on top of pleasure. The touch sent the boy over the edge.
Tracy moaned and began coating the back of his dad's throat with
his spunk. Pete kept on sucking until the last of Tracy's load was down his
throat.
Pete suddenly pulled off and cried out, "Here it comes! Fuck!"
Tracy felt his dad's dick give a shudder inside his mouth. His
throat suddenly felt the hot wave of cum and eagerly swallowed the thick
load. He kept on sucking until Pete's balls had drained themselves of their
load.
"God, Trace, you definitely know what you're doing," Pete praised.
Tracy moved once again so that he was lying beside his father. He
gave the man a smile and planted a kiss on Pete's mouth.
"I definitely have no complaints," Tracy assured his father.
Even though it was nowhere near their bedtime, the two fell into
each other's arms and drifted off to sleep.
