I woke up and went to  school. When I got there the word fag was written in
red permanent marker on my  locker. People were standing around whispering and
laughing. I opened my locker  and put my bag and books in then got what I

Chapter 6

That night i got a call  from Joe and he wanted me to come over. It was 7:25
and i knew that Mary and  Patrick wouldnt let me leave the house, so I told
him that I would see him  tomorrow at school. I went to bed early that night and

are going away for the  weekend, I was wondering if you want to come over and

morning classes and finally it  was lunch time. I headed to the lunch room and

"Nothing." His friend said and walked  off.

I walked into the bathroom  and Jake followed me. "Are you ok Eli?" He asked
me wipeing the mess off of my  back. "Sure I am fine. Im just covered in
spaghetti and chocolate pudding, but  im ok." I said being sarcastic. After we
cleaned me up he pulled me into his  arms and held me. "Eli, Im sorry that bastard
did this to you." He said then  kissed me. Just as he was kissing me the door
flung open. It was Joe. He quickly  ran out of the bathroom, I ran after him.
"Joe, wait up." I yelled. He ran out  the door and I followed him. He finally
stopped when he got to his jeep. I  knocked on his window and told him to
unlock the door he did so I went around to  the other side to get in. Once i was
in he wouldnt even look at me. "Joe, look  it wasnt what it looked like. It
just happend." I said feeling really guilty. He  was silent for atleast 5
minutes. "I thought you were different. I thought you  were really sincere and I
thought that i could trust you. Guess I was wrong." He  said trying to hold back
his tears. "Im sorry Joe, I really am." I said not sure  of what else to  say.

I walked  home that day it was a very long walk, or atleast that is how it
seemed. When I  got home I went to my room and listened to my Ipod. I fell

looked at  him. I had been home alone the whole day. Gabe went with Mary and
Patrick to  some relatives house, Blake had made up with David and was at the
park playing  basketball, and Stacy had been out with Jake. I could hear
