Chapter Six

The time to leave San Antonio arrived and it was time for the Parker clan to
begin their trek back to the ranch.  However, Daniel, the boy's dad, had been
insistent that the family spend at least one day in Austin on their way back,
so that he could take the boys on a tour of the state capitol and the
Governor's Mansion.  Of course, the boys groaned and complained.  But, it was
no use.  They were going to stop in Austin and that was that.

So, as the time came to load the van, Daniel, the boy's father, packed the
luggage carefully as the boys carried it out to him from the house.
Naturally, there was the usual chorus of good byes and kisses all around.

"I declare Dorothy!  It has been so good to have you all visit us for these
few days.  I just can't believe the change that has come over Robert since he

"Well, you will just have to let Robert come up to the ranch before school
starts Irma," Dorothy said, in response to her sister's comment.  "That will
be okay won't it Daniel?"

"Sure!  He can come up in August for the rodeo.  He will probably like that!"
 Daniel replied, prompting Mark to glance at John, smile, and then wiggle his
eyebrows.

The prospect of Robert coming to visit, and all the possibilities that
entailed, already had Mark's mind churning.

"Here they are dad!"  John said, as Luke and as his cousin Robert came out of
the front door toward the driveway.

"It's about time!  I was thinking about leaving without you!"  The boy's dad
commented.

"Sorry dad, I had to go back for something," Luke replied.

"I betcha I know what he went back for," Matthew said softly under his
