A smiling Ted was staring at Lyle, hoping that the words he ultimately
would be hearing from his lips would be those that he wished to hear. Lyle
very much stunned by Ted's seemingly spur-of-the-moment proposal could
almost feel his coloring draining from his face. After thinking for about
a minute, he began to realize that in the past he has had a tendency to
either run away from challenges or sabotage his own chances for happiness.
The truth was that Lyle realized that the change must come from within
himself. So, for once in his life, he decided that he would just go with
his head rather than with his heart.

Gathering his mettle, he bent down and sweetly kissed the hand so gently
still holding his: "Lyle, my darling, my precious, my answer is this: Yes,
I will marry you; and yes, I, too, do indeed want all the world to share in
our joy." As Lyle said these words, a deluge of tears were flowing down
his tanned cheeks. Never did he ever think he would be so fortunate to
have a man who loved him the way that Ted does; and one who, as Ted does,
truly wanted to share his life with him. He was convinced that for reasons
unknown to him, Him above was blessing the two of them with the gift of
love.

Ironically, Ted was now the one surprised. With Lyle not answering
immediately, he was virtually certain that his response would be a likely
no. Yet, predictably so, once Lyle's affirmative reply "kicked in", so to
speak, he went into his planning mode.

"Well, I have thought this through a bit, Lyle. I really think that the
best way for us to come out of the closet together to all of our family,
friends, and acquaintances is for you and I to host our very own "coming
out" party. Trust me on this, Lyle, it will be a blast; and I know how you
just love parties, even in high school you were like that."

Lyle just smiled and nodded, upon hearing this, though inside he was
terrified. He was especially afraid of Ted's only sire, Elaine; and how
she would react to their coming out. As he was just about to ask whether
Ted was prepared to deal with Elaine, Ted surprised him by sliding a very
tasteful 14-karat gold engagement ring with multiple diamond chips in a
circle pattern slowly onto his finger. Lyle now realized the true
permanence of what they now shared, at least what he hoped would be true
permanence between them.

"Lyle, I know what you are thinking. But I have already thought about the
work. We will come out to our best friend in high school, Syd, first,
okay? That way we will have some additional support plus a third reliable
pair of hands to help with the party. It can be a coming out and surprise
engagement party all wrapped into one, the surprise being for them of
course."

"You certainly seem to have thought things through, I must say, Ted."

"Now let's go back into the bedroom, Lyle, I may just have yet one
more...uhm...surprise for you there.", Ted said nonchalantly to a
now-beaming Lyle, winking at him as he did so. Lyle, upon hearing this,
could not help but react: His eyes lit up in anticipation of the two once
again cuddling and snuggling together, though he suspected that his dear
cousin had a bit more than that in mind for the two of them to share for
the rest of the day. Lyle, though perhaps not quite as horny as Ted, most
certainly had needs of his own; and, besides, he always loved being in
Ted's warm embrace, in the arms of his husband-to-be.

While Ted prepared their bedroom love nest for yet more passion, Lyle went
into the den to put on some sexy silk nightwear in burgundy, him being very
much aware that Ted's favorite color happens to be burgundy. Lyle, in his
mind, was determined to always do what he could to turn Ted on. He did not
want their relationship to grow stale, as in the case of countless friends
of his. As he put the garment on, he began to fantasize about Lyle taking
the skimpy thing off of him and of being very visibly aroused by him both
in and out of it. When Lyle entered the bedroom once again dressed to
kill, so to speak, Ted was strangely not there. Just as he was about to
turn away from the window he now was facing, familiar arms embraced him and
a familiar voice said: "I want to have my way with you, come give Big Daddy
one big kiss."

Lyle began to giggle, but before he could say anything, he was tossed on
the bed; and gently pounced upon by his "suitor". Love was most definitely
in the air; and hopefully for these two would be here to stay.
